Five-star rated hotel. We took the Mito-Kashima tram from the Mito to the big wash this time. 1. The hotel has a free pick-up and drop-off van, which can be reserved in advance. We didn't make an appointment this time, but when we arrived at the station, we just saw the van at the Dabu Hotel. We went up and asked, and the driver took us to the hotel. 2. The service is very good, the staff attitude is quite good, tell us the sunrise and sunset time and surrounding restaurants. There is also a Taiwanese aunt's staff who don't have to worry about Chinese. 3. The hotel's sea view room is quite beautiful, looking out is the sea, you can see the picture 4. The East Building Sea View Room sleeps on the ground floor. In the evening, a waiter will come over to help you lay the quilt on the ground. 5. There is a free large bathhouse on the top floor where you can take a bath, as well as some massage instruments and free tea. 6. We went to 1.21. This hotel will have live anatomical performances of local specialty Ankang at the end of December to March at 5:30 in the evening. 7. The hotel is the famous classic cardinal bird house. Can look at the picture 8. We went to 6:56 when we went, but in fact it was slightly brighter at six o'clock, but the sun has not yet risen from the sea level, and the gradual glow is very beautiful. There are two bright stars in the clear Orion. 9. The hotel's buffet breakfast is quite delicious, and the jade is so popular that people can't put it down. There is also black tea that is also very good to drink.

Kanpo no yado is a group of over fifty hotels in resort locations owned and operated by Japan Post. They are generally viewed as reasonably priced for their facilities and service. We stayed at this hotel located on the river mouth as our foorhold to explore Ooarai and Mito in Ibaraki Prefecture. We stayed in a two bed room with tatami flooring which is unique but perhaps more comfortable than sleeping on a tatami floor as in Japanese style hotels (ryokans). Ooarai is on the seaside, so we had a seafood course menu for dinner, which was quite good. It is not so voluminous so those with a healthy appetite should also ask for one or two side dishes that are offered at affordable prices. The public bath which is not a genuine onsen was clean and relaxing with a small outside (roten) bath. it wasn't crowded at all as this was a Sunday, but I believe it could be different on Fridays and Saturdays because I learned that the occupancy rate on that day was only one third. Amenities are not that many, for instance there were no sterilized combs in the room or public bath. Overall I thought perhaps the room rate was on the expensive side for their facilities. The staff were cheerful and well trained.

I was in Hitachinaka for business and decided to stay the night at this hotel. After arriving I was pleasantly surprised to find the staff had kindly upgraded my room to a very nice semi-suite room! The room looked new and it was extremely clean and comfortable. The hotel lobby area was nice and relaxing as well. I was also happy with the breakfast buffet which had a fair amount of western and Japanese dishes to choose from. In the evening before, guests were offered a complimentary snack of a small bowl of ramen noodles which was also a nice gesture. The hotel is tucked away in a quiet area of town away from the main road and trains, so it's a nice place if you want to wind down and relax after a busy day. It's also located only 10-15min drive away from Hitachi Kaihin Koen (Hitachi Seaside Park) which I wanted to visit but sadly didn't have time to do so...
