We made this a stopover in our way to the Harz Mountains and it was a total treat - relaxed elegance. Would have liked to have stayed longer to explore the gardens next door and the ceramic museum. Comfortable bed, good breakfast, pretty terrace and picturesque moat. Only downside was they had fully booked the restaurant so we had to go elsewhere but this turned out to be a good move! I have been choosing this hotel for my global team meetings for the last 6 years. With my team changing every 2 years, I have new staff members visiting the Netherlands and this hotel every time. Each time they are positively surprised by the combination of old buildings and modern facilities, the relaxed atmosphere and the great food. Also this time we had a great stay and were able to have our central meetings and breakout sessions in the various rooms available. The hotel and its staff provides an intimate atmosphere, in contradiction to the average business / conferency hotel I also do - have to - visit on a regular basis.

I stayed at Theaterhotel Venlo during Carnival for one night. The room was good, the indoor parking average (a bit narrow and expensive (15,00 EUR for 24 hours)). But the breakfast service was very weak! The personnel - three ladies - did not care pretty much about the buffet (bread rolls and scrumbled eggs were empty) but the guest has to ask to fill it up although there were many guests in the breakfast room. Besides you have to go to breakfast bar to ask for hot tea, coffee etc. as nobody from the personnel felt responsible to go to the guest's table to ask whether hot tea, coffee etc. is wished. The same with dirty plates on tables. Nobody of personnel cleaned it up. For 100,00 EUR for one night including breakfast - single occupancy - in such medium-sized city of Venlo I can expect proactive and attentive guest service! Probably I do not recommend Theaterhotel Venlo. P.S.: In the breakfast room it is very drafty as it there isn't any doors and it is part of the huge entrance lobby of theater of Venlo. So not very cozy there!

What a lovely place! The room is clean and spacious. Enough storage possibilities. We found the crew very helpful and friendly. The hotel offers a lot of information and discounts for activities around Arcen. Our room was located next to the garden opposite the restaurant. Very confenient :-) We thought it might be noisy but it wasn't at all.

Made a late booking to stay here when travelling from Berlin to Calais. Excellent location just off the motorway - a little hidden but should have followed the sat nav ! Really easy check in, perfect English spoken, Room was a little walk from reception but not too bad. Spotlessly clean. Good shower, but tiny towels! Lovely grounds with 4 large ponds. These were in fenced so may be a concern for those with small children. Quite a few dogs staying at this hotel - with their owners of course - head then say it was an additional 17.50EUR per night for your dog and they were only allowed in certain rooms. 12 car chargers in the car park at 0.59EUR / Kw. All 22kw chargers that were fine for my car as a hybrid, but could be slow for a full charge on all electric vehicles. No app required to use them. Good breakfast with just the right amount of choice. Nice restaurant, lovely setting and good food.

We stayed here from Friday 9 to Sunday 11 December. We had a arrangement with 2 nights, 2 times breakfast and 1 times a 2-gangendiner. It was a fast dinner. Unfortunately I didn't like it, but they offered a great alternative. My wife had a fast dinner, the dinner was delicious, breakfast was good, very friendly staff, the hotel is just in front of Venlo station. The only disadvantage I found was that the room was a bit obeyed and that the bathroom came to be white after the shower.

We made this a stopover in our way to the Harz Mountains and it was a total treat - relaxed elegance. Would have liked to have stayed longer to explore the gardens next door and the ceramic museum. Comfortable bed, good breakfast, pretty terrace and picturesque moat. Only downside was they had fully booked the restaurant so we had to go elsewhere but this turned out to be a good move! The staff is very pleasant and the breakfast is satisfactory, but unfortunately the buffet is closed. (Forced to choose what you want the day before...) The right space for its price may be a bit too small. On the other hand, there is a lot of noise behind the walls and ceiling, which may be due to poor insulation. The bathroom is very good and the water pressure is good.
