THIS IS A TRUE WARNING. LOOK AT THE PICTURES. I was in town for a wedding Friday-Monday, 9/23-26/2022. Typically upon check-in, I thoroughly check my room #221. However, due to rehearsals, family meetings & greets, etc, I just checked-in and commenced with the wedding schedule. Due to the fact that I've been in hotel mgmt for over 10 years, I am always considerate of the housekeeping department. In turn, Mon 9/26/22 after showering, I removed all of the linen and made sure all dirty laundry is in a pile. Upon pulling the linen from the beds, I was disgusted and appalled. I immediately called to the front desk and requested for mgmt to come to my room, it was approximately 730amish. The desk agent informed me that there wasn't a MOD on property but as soon as the GM arrived she would inform him of my request. I went to the desk 2xs, the 1st time I showed my pics and video to the agent and she was very apologetic. While standing there the GM Steve Patris walked in. I introduced myself and told him I would come back once he was settled in. I came back down around 10:30-10:45ish. I begin to explain to Steve how I felt and I allowed him to review the pictures & video footage. He apologized and said he would give me points. I informed him that I wasn't a Marriott member, in turn I prefer to get 1 night stay refunded. He stated he couldn't do that and thar he would give me 50% refund of 1 night stay. I informed him that, that wasn't suffice. I then asked him to put himself in my shoes and inquired what would he want. He didn't answer the question. I again reiterated that 50% wasn't suffice and I preferred a 1 night stay refund of $119+ tax. He said he couldn't do that because he needed to analyze the situation. I said well I requested for you to come to my room. I then said we can go now. He didn't move. I then informed him that facts don't lie. The room was despicable. So I inquired again, as a GM you're telling me that you, as the GENERAL MANAGER of the hotel can't refund me a 1 night stay. He said no. I then asked for his boss information. He then passed me a sticky note that he had ALREADY written Marriott's customer service number on. I was like wow, so you were prepared not to help me. After going back and forth with each other for another 5 minutes, I just ended the conversation and he said have a good day ma'am.

The hotel is very nice, the room is large, there is a simple kitchen, there are plates and dishes, but we don't have to burn things ourselves. There is McDonald's near the hotel, FRIDAY, you can go out to eat. It is also very convenient to refuel nearby. Breakfast is in the lobby, but it's simple, but you can make your own waffles. Coffee and water are served all day in the hotel lobby, very good. There are laundry, laundry and drying each USD0.75, laundry room in the gym, brush the door card can go in.

We have stayed in this hotel before which makes our recent experience even more frustrating and disappointing. We booked a 2 BR 2 BA suite for 4 adults to attend our sons college graduation from Kent State. We arrived the Friday before as the graduation was scheduled at 10:00 AM the next day, about a 20 minute drive to campus. The first issue was the key cards either did not work or when they did, they worked once and were deactivated. We went to the front desk no less than 4 times and once while soaking wet as we couldn't get in our room after a swim. The clerk thought the batteries might be bad and changed them. That didn't work. She gave us more key cards to last through the night and they also became deactivated. The next issue occurred Saturday morning while getting ready to attend the graduation. We went to turn on the shower in the main bathroom only to notice it was dirty and had a children's sticker stuck to the bottom of the tub. If that wasn't bad enough the shower handle was broken and just spun around. No water, nothing. Also the bath mat was shredded with holes in it. In a panic we called the front desk and they sent a maintenance man. We once again mentioned the issue with the key cards. The maintenance man looked at the shower handle, tried it and said to me in an accusatory manner that someone broke the handle by forcing it the wrong way and he can't fix it without a plumber. I said why wasn't this room checked? I pointed out the dirt in the tub, the shredded bath mat, the broken handle and oh yes, dry dog food that was all over the carpet, which we also mentioned to front desk. He said all rooms were inspected. He left angrily while saying he will get us a key for another room so we can shower. After getting ready and now running late, we quickly spoke to the front desk person and said we need to talk about these issues when we get back as we are now late. When we returned the front desk accused us of ignoring their manager and walking away and also saying that maintenance said there was water in the tub and we broke the shower handle. They accused us of lying. This did not sit well with us and we were incredulous. We are here for a celebration and get accused of lying about breaking a shower handle. The solution was 50.00 credit or move rooms. We were only booked for two nights and the thought of not having a shower made us move rooms. We asked for at least a one night credit and they held firm, accusing us of lying. Additionally, the complimentary soap, conditioner and body washes were either empty or partly full. Even the room we went to shower in had no shampoo. We know this is complimentary but it flies in the face of their claims all the rooms are inspected by the maids and inspectors prior to check in. Obviously no inspection of our room was done as they would have seen the dry dog food, torn bathmat, the filthy tub and broken shower handle. Their treatment of us was disgusting and unprofe

I stayed at this hotel for several days before the pandemic and enjoyed it; I thought it was good value for the money. But this last stay was disappointing. I had problems with the noisiness of the air conditioner and the cleanliness. When I first arrived in the room and took off my shoes I noticed a lot of long hair on the floor by the desk. The longest hair on my head is about 1/2 inch so it wasn't mine. It seems that this should have been easily picked up if the floor had been throughly vacuumed and made me wonder what else was there that I wasn't seeing. The air conditioner in the room made a rattling noise that woke me up all night long on my first night. I eventually examined it to see if I could find and stop the irritating noise. I found that the device has air filters and the whole front easily lifts off to clean the radiator. I don't think either has ever been cleaned because they were totally disgusting. They kind of made me gag when I saw them. The attached pictures don't adequately capture the grossness. I know the pandemic has made business hard for hotels, but it seems that exactly in these times deep thoroughly cleaning of carpets and air filters should be imperative.

Very nice hotel in a trendy area. Rooms very spacious, very clean. Heater worked great. Check-in was busy but very prompt and friendly. Bedding was also very good, slept well. You can get a room with a view of the falls, or a city view. City view is quieter because there is a highway on the falls side. Fyi..we stayed Saturday to Sunday a.m and there were church bells clanging on Sunday a.m around 10. Didn't bother us though. Also, there is a bar/restaurant inside the hotel. Also a concession/snack area with ice cream and other snacks for purchase. My only negative is that the hot tub has been closed/covered up since our last visit. It's gone. It was one of the reasons we booked there. Pool looked nice.

We booked a king suite. The room was large and beautiful! Definitely one of the nicest room experiences! We mentioned the kind of food we were looking for, and for amazing recommendations and directions. The desk staff were an absolute joy, I can’t speak highly enough of them! We talked, laughed, joked, and also got to witness other interactions with customers that were just as great as our own interactions. As for the room, the bed was comfortable, the tvs were large, the open ceilings made the room seem as the more bigger. Everything was clean! Actually clean! I always carry cleaning supplies on our trips, and do a sanitizing sweep. This was the first time I wiped up and my paper towels remained white! If I’m ever in the area again I will definitely ask out this hotel to stay in! 100/10!

Kent seems to have only this hotel in the city, other hotels are far away, not very convenient. All aspects of the hotel are OK, the price is slightly more expensive. It’s very convenient to go to the university in a few minutes’ walk. It’s a good choice for a visit to Kent and a temporary study abroad.

Hotel was absolutely amazing. One of the cleanest places I’ve ever stayed. It was nice to see that housekeeping stopped and made beds every day. The breakfast was fantastic. Just a great place to stay and I will definitely return. You can tell that the staff takes great pride in the property!!

Allright, so my husband & I plus a couple others came to Kent as they had a company meeting to attend. Normally we prefer to stay at the Comfort Inn across the road for the big indoor pool & hot tub but their reviews weren’t great lately and the hot tub was broken. Anyway we saw this hotel had a small indoor pool to still enjoy. We knew coming here was risky since our total was only $50 but it was cheaper than the others around. Upon arrival we realize it didn’t look promising based on how the exterior and parking lot appeared. Well we checked in and went up to our room on the 2nd floor to room 209. First of all we noticed the hallways were not vacuumed. It was 3 pm and you would have figured this should have already been done. In our room we had a bedspread that had at least 3 different areas of smoke burn holes. Also on the fitted sheet on one side of the bed where you would have your pillow, there were more burn holes We did have a non smoking room btw. Also close to the ceiling above the sink there was water damage on the wall and also on the ceiling above the toilet and shower. The shower curtain is not long enough for the bar. There was 4 patched up holes on the wall perhaps where a tv used to hang. The wood flooring throughout was nice. My husband tried to pop a bag of popcorn in what I would consider the slowest microwave ever. It only popped half of it and started burning the rest. The walls are very thin in there as we were woken up at 5 am from the person above us and then about 7:30 am from our next door neighbor. Anyway, let’s back up to our evening between arrival and bedtime. We went to use the pool about an hour after we arrived. Boy, it was freezing in there. The thermostat didn’t work and the pool was too ice cold to even get into. The door going in and out was supported by a c-clamp. There were only 2 towels. Luckily one of the men working-perhaps the owner came in and apologized that no one had used the pool in a couple of days. And also blamed the cold weather outside for why it was also cold in there. He turned the heat up and and said that it should warm up very quickly. He provided us with more towels and even brought one to my husband and put it around his shoulders. He also offered us some coffee. I think it either embarrassed him or he really felt bad. It did finally warm up some to where we could get it. This pool and the walls are in need of paint and a good cleaning. After an hour we left with 2 others we were there with to go to dinner. When we returned we all decided to go to the pool again. The temp outside of course was much colder which in turn made what little warmth the pool water had worse. All four of us literally stood in the water each next to a vent to try and stay warm. A younger guy employee came in and turned the water temp up but it didn’t help much. We just tolerated what we had. We asked if he could turn up the room temp but he also noticed the thermostat was broken and just laughed and said he
