We stayed one night in a suite after a long day of travel. Checkin was very pleasant with the front desk staff doing everything possible to make us feel welcome. Our room was laid out as a suite with a separate sitting room with a tv in the sitting room as well as the bedroom. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom had great amenities. Only complaint is that it had no view but since were only there one night it was not a real issue. The restaurant was good for both dinner and breakfast with good service. The only real concern I had was we got stuck with a third person in the elevator and had to ring the alarm. I am somewhat claustrophobic when enclosed for a ling time so this was not a pleasant experience. At least it was not long. I do recommend the Protea and would return.

The hotel was in a good, central location, with restaurants within walking distance and the Main Pedestrian bridge also nearby. Room was comfortable, aircond was good and WiFi was strong in the room. However, few things have to be improved, for starters the room was not very clean (you can not be barefoot due to some kind of dust or dirt on the floor constantly) and the same can be said for the toilet as well. Another issue I had was the no outside food policy, I understand if its something like durian in Asia, however, not being allowed to bring food in is a major hassle considering that most restaurants outside close early. Perhaps something to consider

Breakfast is the best here. Hotel location is very good, parking lot is large, suitable for children, can be an extra bed. I don't think the hotel pays attention to online marketing. The photos are not as good as me. It is a very good hotel.

We wnt there for a week end away in September. From the arrival, the check in was good and quick. The room is very nice, with a sea view. There are cheap function though and it was not clean. There were left over cigarette butts on the balcony also and no ashtray. We had a room service, which was promptly delivered, but the choice was limited due to dish not being available. On the evening we wanted to have a meal in the ground floor fine dining restaurant but it was closed. No options for having a meal in the afternoon also, only room service. We ended up in the top floor restaurant. The view is great, the service was friendly and professional but yet again, many dishes unavailable. I understand this is the end of the season, but this is frustrating. To resume, good service, nice place but needs to be more consistent. I would come back though, but probably in August as this is clearly an hotel which is meant to be used during the season.

We are touring around Algeria and I can’t recommend the Hotel Hazem in Batna highly enough. The room was a good size and thoughtfully renovated, with a modern bathroom and things like a safe, fridge and most importantly for me a kettle to make tea! The friendly, helpful staff can’t do enough for you, it’s true Algerian hospitality. Batna is well located for the historic sites and we spent three nights seeing Djemila, nearby Timgad and taking a great drive down to Biskra. We are so enjoying Algeria and it’s great to stay in an up to date and yet family run, local establishment. Highly recommended.
