As a titanium Bonvoy member I stay at a lot of Marriott properties My recent two night stay at WPB Residence Inn was a bit of a mixed bag and represented my first stay at a Residence Inn. We selected the property because it was close to the several events we planned to attend on the weekend and it is well located for the entire city center. The room was large and very clean and well maintained. I question if anyone really uses the full kitchen and if you want ice from the refrigerator, the ice maker take hours to produce once it is activated. The free breakfast is somewhat minimal but a nice touch and the Covid precautions were reasonable. Coffee was excellent. The staff in general were helpful and professional. Here is the noise problem. We were assigned a connecting room on the 7th floor. We returned late from an event to find a family with children had moved in next door. Every word of their conversations could be head verbatim and every scream from the children resonated throughout our room. If we were staying for more than two nights we would have requested a new and non-connecting room. I once had the same noise issue on a cruise ship with connecting doors so I suggest there is something about the design that allows the free flow of adjacent noise.

Had tickets to see the play Officer and a Gentleman at the Kravitz center. This Hyatt is so dirty and outdated. The furniture looks like it’s 1970. Dirty smelly rugs. Couch had stains and felt grimy. I happen to drop my earring which rolled under the couch. OMG there was an inch or more of dust and wrappers to something (condoms?) under there. The dust was so thick you couldn’t tell there was carpeting . We had to put towels down first and then sat on the couch . Do not walk barefoot on the rugs. Your feet will get very dirty. Check in was pleasant. Cordial staff on 5/07/2022. Upon check in we were told about parking ($24), free breakfast and wifi. We were given a menu to the ‘cafe’ which stated they had tacos, burgers, chicken wings and more. We went to go eat in the cafe. We couldn’t find it so we asked the front desk who said “we don’t have a cafe”. I responded “you gave me a menu?” He had no idea what I was talking about. I actually got the cafe menu and showed him and said “you gave me this an hour ago”. . He said “I could go make you a burger if you want” He was going to leave the front desk to go make a burger in the bar area which was also closed. No thank you. There was no bar, no cafe, but they did have candy and snacks at the front desk. I didn’t eat the breakfast as I was too disgusted. The bed was extremely comfortable and I had clean sheets. I felt the need to buy Lysol and I sprayed disinfectant just to be sure and I sprayed for the next guest when I left knowing the maids aren’t doing their job at 100%. They take short cuts. Forgot to put the do not disturb sign on the door and was woken up quite early by the maid knocking. She wanted to know when we were leaving so she could clean the room. That’s rude! How about you just call the front desk and ask if we checked out yet instead of waking us up! Please Hyatt, take a vacuum and clean under the couches in room 224. All that dust gave me an allergy situation that I couldn’t pinpoint until I saw the filth I was sitting on. That was an AH HA moment. Never again. I’ll stick with the Marriott where I never had anything like this happen. All in all I felt like I was in a 2 star hotel, not a Hyatt.

I waited a couple days to write this thinking maybe I would think differently after hitting a couple other hotels. I don't feel any different so here it goes....Checked in on a Sunday and they were pretty full with guests and they took full advantage of the pricing on line. I was in for 4 days on a group rate which was excessive for the offerings but saw as high as $845 on line. The lobby is nice and gets you excited for your stay but trust me thats where it ends! Be ready to be charged $14.95 a day for internet which only works in your room,as well as $16.95 a day for parking in a lot that both entrance and exit are wide open to come and go. I had my daughter with and she inquired about an office to have a zoom meeting call and she was told that rents for $40.00 per hour. The pool and hot tub are standard Holiday in grade and nothing more. The rooms need a major overhaul, they were clean but very outdated. They offer a fridge which literally will not hold a gallon jug unless you lay it on its side, I inquired about another fridge, but it never showed up, so I bought a cooler to keep a few items in. The restaurant was closed from just after lunch until dinner time so needing a car to get downtown is very necessary. I wish I could say some positive things, employees are good and attentive. As a corporate traveler I maybe expected to much. I was able to put in my membership card and get the internet charge dropped.
