Everything is almost perfect. Hotel interior like just renovated, everything is quite new. Aircon super strong, shower room and toilet is absolute good. Nearby amenities and lot of foods you can choose. 5 mins walking distance from Bugis MRT. Only cons is we booked for 3 people but only given 2 sets of toiletries, towels, drinks etc so this one can improve a bit for user experience. Also our room toilet drainage not very good so take long time to dry toilet floor, else will be 5 stars. Definitely will book again if still have staycation.
The location wise is perfect as Suntec City and Marina Square are just within walking distance. This is very convenient to parents with young kids like us. The cleanliness of the hotel room deserves a 5-star, and the housekeepers attended to our requests promptly and they even ready the amenities for kids. The buffet breakfast serves various choices of food, my kids specially love their waffle with ice cream and chocolate syrup! The chefs in Oscar are very friendly and helpful. Overall, we had a great time during our stay in Conrad, we will definitely consider this hotel again!
The location is awesome. The staff was helpful and friendly with self check in procedure for check-in after 8pm. However the temperature air-conditioner should be lowered as I can’t feel any cool air reaching my pod since I am staying at the far end of the room. I have no choice but to sleep with the privacy curtain up to get that tiny little bit of fresh air. Shower gel and shampoo are also not provided and that’s a shame.
5 star hotel lived up to its rating. Firstly, the entrance to the hotel is wow and the chairs in the lobby were super comfy. The room was exquisite, spacious and its design was very modern and an eye-opener for me. Bathtub in the toilet with shower and toilet bowl separated by doors. Bed was comfortable and TV was good. A lot of cupboards to store your stuff. Great view of the surrounding area and the sea if your rooms are placed well. Wifi not too bad, quite fast but was down for the whole hotel for a short period of time ( Caused great inconvenience for me ). Door of the room was heavy, and had to use a lot of force to push it open.
Service was top-notch as the housekeepers were friendly. They were foreigners but they still put in the effort to say simple greetings which really make you appreciate their efforts. Rooms were cleaned well after make-up. Other hotel staff were also friendly and calls for assistance were answered quickly. For example, when the TV stopped working, the hotel IT person arrived in like 5 minutes to fix the problem fast. Quality service.
Food at the hotel which I had was only during the breakfast buffet, which had a wide spread of asian and western dishes. Delicious and literally whatever you can think of, its there. Staff were friendly and quick to clear the dirty plates. The ability to pick whatever food you want again truly returns you back to the early days before Covid. However, I witnessed a boy using his hands to grab the food and put inside his pocket, probably stealing the food. After that, he went to take it again with his hands even though there were tongs. Crazy, Unhygienic and Inconsiderate. But that was not the hotel's fault though, because they provided ample tongs to pick up the food which you wanted. Just an experience. However, I had a hell of a time stuffing myself so much that I did not need to eat lunch after that. Kudos to the chefs and staff there.
Location was good and you are able to have a bird's eye view of Singapore's city skyline in the day and at night which is magnificent. There is a linkbridge to Suntec City for shopping and food and restaurants operated some by the hotel and some privately. A lot of people go there for late night drinks and food. If you find that it is not enough, you can access Esplanade MRT station to shop and eat at Raffles City Shopping Mall. Thus, high connectivity and access to explore other parts of Singapore. Carpark below which charges exorbitantly, however as a hotel guest you can request for a complimentary ticket at the conceirge to offset all the costs so that you can park free. Close to Bugis and other delicious places to eat.
Amenities was good. Fitness Centre which had whatever a workout enthusiast needed, dumbells, treadmills and other gym equipment. Certanly one of the biggest fitness centres of the hotels I went to. Swimming pool was very cold though, as it is located at the 18th floor which makes you suffer the wrath of the wind. However, it has a bird's eye view of Padang and the entire CBD area. Truly beautiful 180° view. It also had a wide open space to play badminton without a net and a football table. There is also a table tennis table and a billard board which you can request from the staff to get the equipment, not the badminton one though. Quite good and you can relax on the chairs also enjoying the view or reading a book, while basking in the fresh air. One plus point would be that where all of these amenities are located is sheltered totally so no need to worry about bad weather, including the swimming pool. Other amenities include a spa and a wine tasting place.
Overall, this hotel was perfect and I would visit it again.
Good place to stay very near to Bugis street, Bugis village and Bugis + as shopping malls are legit across the road! Right infront of bustop and next to 7-11. *Please note that this Hotel is currently known as Populous Hotel which previously was known as Lion Peak Hotel Raffles.* Decent place to stay. Simple and clean as you can see in my pictures. The room is NOT Sound proof as there’s a connection room in between and you can literally hear your neighbours talking, coughing, sneezing or even a little sound could be heard. Toothbrush and toothpaste were placed under the sink. Just be SURE you are lucky enough to not stay beside a Covid-19 quarantine room unlike mine. Was so scared until I took ART test right away after the staycay to make sure I am OK, legit.
I booked the artist suite and it was beautiful however, there was construction work going on and I was worried about my privacy as we had a bath tub in the balcony. It was clearly not the hotel’s fault as they was not aware of the ongoing work on top. I got a free upgrade to a photography suite where we enjoyed a bigger sqm suite with indoor bath tub.
As a solo staycay-er, I pleasantly felt safe in this hotel (apart from someone knocking and tried to open my room door a couple of times on my 2nd night there). I chose this hotel because of how easy it was to get my favourite food just mere distance away. Staffs were very friendly and always ready to help. Room is relatively clean when I checked in although there was a wrapper under the sink. TV is great, alot of channels to choose from but mostly used screen mirroring from phone. Can't wait to go back here again during my next holiday!
Booked for 5N6D trip. After read the reviews from other reviewers, make sure our room is ready by the time we arrived to hotel. I wrote email to them in advance to inform our arrival time. However the room was not ready when we arrive to hotel at 2:50pm.
The front desk staff asked us to wait for the room, we asked for how long we had to wait , but the staff said he also not sure himself, for when it can be ready. I was surprised by his answer. we were tired and hungry as we had not eaten lunch yet. so we wanted to know if it’s going to take long, we will go out for lunch and come back. But the staff cannot confirm the time. After we complained, the manager attended to us and said it will be ready within 5 mins.
after first night, the next day we went out around 10:30am and we informed to front desk that we wanted to make up our room. However it was not clean yet until we’re back at 5:30pm. We had to call the front desks many times but line was not pick up as the staffs were so busy. We had to go down and asked to make our room for cleaning.
Also the roof top bar is only opened weekends and they didn’t sell any drinks during weekdays. We were not aware that and we went up to enjoy swimming and chills. But the staff told us to go to lobby and order our drinks and bring up by ourselves. Not convenient as we were already in the pool with our swimsuits.
Then on Friday night we went up to swimming pool again to chill, but that time the bar is operating. We thought it was the same as last time, so we brought out bottle of wine from our room. But that time we were told that outside drinks were not allowed as they rent the pool bar 😢. So we were not able to enjoy our drinks. Though we are hotel guests, we not allow to enjoy our drinks.
The only good thing about the hotel is location. It is very close to a lot of bars and shopping malls. air-con is cold. The vanity counter is island type, design wise looking great but the water tap is always dripping water and at night it has noise.
6 out of 10 for my experience.
Hotels Near Mook'S Thai Mookata Bbq In Singapore Review
No frills stay.
You book, turn up, stay, and leave.
Rules are simple--be clean, be quiet, and be a good guest. It's a space shared with others.
For something this kind, I'd say it smelled clean most of the time.
Had a fabulous stay at Fairmont. Wrote a remark during booking time saying we are having our honeymoon here..& the hotel gives us a complimentary cake to celebrate..Really make our day. The room view is amazing as it was facing all the iconic building like esplanade & MBS. Service is excellent as well. Would definately recommend this hotel.
Good: - It's near the train station (closer to Rochor than Little India) - there are a lot of restaurants near the area - Beds are clean - our room had its own toilet and bath so no need to share with other rooms in the hostel Bad: - the room is a bit cramped with 6 bunk beds, small area to move around. They even have 1 extra bed that would take up the entire walking area. Talk about maximizing the space. - the lockers are a bit small so if you have a big bag, it will take up the floor space, which meant even lesser area to move around - shower is a bit small, so when the water splashes to the door, water will leak out of the shower area - reception is not 24/7, I arrived there at 7am only to realize it was still closed. I had to come back at opening time (8:30am), but still waited for the receptionist to open the window at 9am. Why post the opening time as 8:30am when you are only opening it at 9am? Overall, I think the hostel is ok, if you need somewhere cheap, it's an ok option. You get what you pay for. Fyi, toiletries and towels are not included, you have to pay for it if you need one. Better bring your own. For PoGo players, there are two pokestops accessible from the hostel
Location is good for no lack of food. Near coffee shops, hawker centres and shopping mall(bugis). Have many selection and varieties of local food.
Amenities not so fantastic. Bare minimum and there is no in-house slippers. Only have body towels.Shower area is very small, enough to house a 70 kg adult COMFORTABLY. Air con control is of the old type, non digital. 4 pillows and quite comfy plus mattress is quite firm. Only minus point is that side table is quite far from the bed on one side. The mini sofa is not for lying. Awkward shape (see photo with bag). Though many TV channels, very old shows like Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones and the Net by Sandra bullock. has Chinese language channels and local ones
HDB blocks are very close by so need to draw curtains for more privacy.
No water heater as hot water is from roof top tank. Have to wait for hot water to come on after switching on like 5 minutes.
Reception staff was very polite and chirpy when we checked in. Staff name is Xiao Xuan and she gave us extra room cards when we requested. Didnt spend too long at the counter as she was efficient. Great service!
Finally checked off this pricey but lovely staycay spot ❤️
To be honest, the $700/night range made me expect a lot and I’m really glad that my experience (kind of) justified the hole in my wallet
The room was fair sized at 39SqM but super classy and quaint, with fancy copper finishings running throughout the space. Very like! 🎉
Though … I wished there was more countertop space and a chilling spot enough for 2pax. 👻
The Living Room provided a very nice respite from the relentless heat and all day refreshments worked as a lunch replacement even though it was just salted nuts for me ☀️
Evening cocktails stole the show with quality bites, fancy tea-based cocktails, and great service. We waddled out definitely heavier but confirm happier 🥂
Super happy that we experienced the same great service as my previous Far East Hospitality stays - Farez and Hafiz were stellar and part of the reason why I’m so smitten by this stay 🎖
As an Ascott group member, there are decent expectations of an Ascott experience in all the properties in which I had once stayed (Ascott, Somerset, Citadines). Citadines Rocher (recently opened in 2020) was one of my top choices in having a local staycation because of its location and price range. However, it was an overall disappointing experience, and here’s why: 1. No daily housekeeping service 2. Our bathroom door could not close. It was completely off the ledge. 3. Reception is busy all the time. Phone calls are often not answered 4. This hotel was most probably a designated hotel used for both Malaysian citizens who were unable to return home due to locked borders, as well as returning Singaporeans to serve their mandatory 14-day Stay-Home Notice (SHN). There were confirmed COVID-19 cases within my period of stay. We were notified by a letter from the management. The least the management could do was to provide a mask or sanitizers to guests. We also chanced upon 2 medical workers fully donned in PPE escorted a guest to the ambulance. Scary stuff. 5. We took our own trash out of the room since day 1 of check-in. It was not cleared even upon checking out. Dear Citadines Rocher, please review your services. I had absolute faith and would like to continue giving my support to Ascott despite this awful stay.
The location of this hotel is definitely not as accessible as all other hotels I went before. It is only easier if you go via car for the first time. Subsequently when you explore the area a bit more, then you can try the path via the UBS building itself. This information perhaps should be made known on the hotel's website. In terms of cleanliness, one of the cups in my room was not washed cleanly. I can see the lipstick mark of a previous user, with some coffee dripping down that lip mark. Had to manually wash it. I would have been more prepared if I brought some detergent along. In terms of service, you must know that they do not provide additional towels for you, even upon request. You can only go and exchange with what you already have. Example, if you need an extra towel to wrap your hair, it is not possible. One room, if 2 pax, they will only give u 2 towels and one floor carpet. I think this is not a good point. The cafe lodge is nicely decorated, just that food have to wait at least 30mins, even if it is a simple set. And not all food are available. But can just chitchat while waiting, or maybe next time just order in advance. The good thing is that at least there is no insect in the room and bed sheets are pretty clean.
Located right next to a bus stop and a 5-minute walk from a MRT station, this budget hotel screams value. Two restaurants right at the ground floor of the premises and a very famous Indian restaurant (A2B) within 3 minutes walk away, good food is very close by. Mustafa centra is a 5-minute walk. A no-frills, impeccably clean hotel in a great location - excellent value for money. We stayed there for 9 nights and every morning the cleaning team was prompt to leave our room blushing clean. My request for extra towels were immediately taken care of and seen through all 9 days. 24-hour hot water and air-conditioning were top-notch. Special shout-out to Ms Pam and Richard at the front desk who gave us wonderful tips about their country and made us feel right at home. The room cleaning persons (sorry, I missed taking their names) did a fabulous job every single day! I was travelling with 2 young kids and had requested a room on a higher floor with a double bed. They were able to accommodate me on their 7th floor (not noisy at night) but could provide me with only twin beds. This was a minor blip in the otherwise exceptional service provided my the hotel. Rooms near the lift tend to be a bit noisy throughout the day. Room # 710 was great - 7th floor and far from the lift. I'd recommend this place again to anyone looking for a no-frills budget hotel in a great location.
Clean.. comfort... water preassure is very good.😋. Room is quite spacious... if you travel with a family like me and on budget... this is my kind of place... will come here again and next time i will extra comforter.
It is definitely a budget hotel, which I think a lot of people reviewing have overlooked. The front desk people were nice and the room was suitable for sleeping and showering which is all I really needed. We got some free snacks/drinks and they helped us to book a taxi. It is in a decent area to get to most places in Singapore.
Booked for family. Room is big & clean. Bathroom is not children & senior friendly as bathtub is high & challenging to cross in/out, with high falls risk. Standard breakfast fare of continental & quality local spread.
Location is most convenient, next to Singapore River & Clark Quay MRT, 5 mins walk to Chinatown & beautiful walk along Singapore River to CBD area & Marina Bay Sands & Gardens by the Bay.
Ya that is true according to my wording if you dont have any other option then you can stay here othere please avoid. i stayed here for 1 night, but almost not comfertable, before i checked in a room when i layed down on my bed, it is keep on moving i asked to change my room and they did it but the room is not same like before but bed still moving some time. the cleanness of also not up to the mark. and they charged for wifi to heard, i was socked and the funny things is that you can use only one device with one password so you you would like to use aother device you have to buy another password. thats all ok but still after paying the wifi is not woking good. staff also lalking bit rude. At last for me sorry to say but not value for money. will never back with this property.
Location is good, except that it's not exactly near the MRT station. Room was clean and cosy - managed to get a rest without much interruption from outside. Service was good as well. The carpark is complimentary for in-house guests, and it's shared between Novotel and Mercure. Will return if the price is good.
There are weird black stains on the bedsheet and the toilet roll was near empty upon check it. Not sure if it's this hotel's company policy but so far the hotels I've been to, the toilet rolls are fresh. To me, it's just an indicator that this hotel can't be bothered. Good thing is that the staff is helpful and the food options around this hotel is amazing.
The package which includes the steak at opus bar and grill was fabulous. The food was very nice and the portions were generous, and yes free flow of wine (both red and white for two hours). The service staff were also very attentive and everything was great!
Having said that, we just have one feedback on the tv in the room. The tv is still not working after the technician came to fix it. It’s a bit disappointing but we just let it go since we are only staying one night at the hotel. Other than that, no complaints.
On that day when i tell to enter this hotel and I had problem getting the password to actually enter to the room the staff from this hotel its very help due to this hotel its all online and no staff able to help u on the spot but they do had helpline and the staff help me step by step. The staff in this hotel its really excellent
Well located, really nice staff for everything, including informations. Bed was comfortable, good shower, breakfast simple but ok. The 2 biggest problems are the travellers who don't respect the sharing room after 23h00 (need a corfu or to be advise) and the room on the street side with a restaurant open 24/24, are to to noisy. You just get little sleep. Coming from Airport, with MRT get off at Jelan Besar exit B, turn right, walk to Dickson Road. To take the bus via Malaysia, walk via Jelan Besar, turn left and right on Weld Road, it will be on your right (3.5MYR)
We reached the hotel at 2pm for check in but as of 4.30pm, we weren’t even check in at all. We were only told then that they were overbooked and that all the rooms are not yet cleaned. We proceeded with our plans and returned to the hotel at 9.20pm only to be informed that our room as still not ready which was ridiculous??? We then demanded for a room for the long waiting hours and how can a room be not cleaned until 7 whole hours later? Miraculously a room was ready 10mins later which was suspicious, the stay was great but the long waiting hours and the fact that those hours i did pay for it did not justify my spendings.
Always had a good stay at Conforto Hotel but this time round, it wasn't tat👍.. The tv was not working as it had no signal.. The bed was kinda noisy as i toss and turn.. The hotel should change the bed as it seems kinda fragile..
Miss the Chinese lady who used to work there.. She was very helpful whenever i asked to change room.
This was an overnight stay and we (two mature aged Australian couples) arrived from India very early on the first day (around 7.25 am). The hotel staff allowed us to check in very early. There were two couples and two people were unwell. So if we had needed to sit around for many hours awaiting a room it would have been painful. But the hotel counter staff said ”It is very early but we are flexible here and we will try to get your rooms ready ASAP”. One couple were in their room by about 8.30am and we got ours about 9.45am. This was excellent service and above and beyond normal expectations. The rooms are small but everything works: clean, nice bathroom, air-con, comfy beds, safe, tea making facilities, hairdryer, Wifi etc....all inclusive and working well. Very pleased and we would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone on an overnight stay or a short stay in Singapore and not wanting to spend a fortune on expensive hotels. They ring taxis for you and the cost to the airport was only about $10AUD.
Hotel is on the older side, but that’s not an issue. The bathroom could use some update though, especially the bath tub. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. I was not paying attention to the laundry hours and had my laundry locked up. Even so, someone came to help me get my laundry from the dryer. The bathroom could be cleaned better. Very good location. Just a few minutes walk to Bugis Street market.
Very friendly staff, they will answer any questions you have and will greet you with a smile. The location is suitable, there is a bus stop located very close which is convenient. The breakfast is simple but some toast, cereal and coffee it good for me. The bathrooms are always clean, and there is always hot water. The rooms are clean with convenient storage. If traveling to Singapore by yourself specially for my ladies this is a good place to stay. Oh and there is an amazing ice cream shop close bya and may restaurants.
Location is great with many great food places around! Check in was smooth and fast without much Hassle. Cleanliness and sound proofing of the room can be improved! Nonetheless, it’s a great stay! Thank you!
Hotel is refurbished and was previously known as Elizabeth Hotel. It is located right next to its sister property Quincy Hotel, and shares the basement carpark.
Location is quiet, but just 5-10 minutes' walk from Orchard Road (take the shortcut through York Hotel and Goodwood Hotel's carparks to get to Scotts Road, then turn left and straight to Orchard, including the MRT station).
Premier room was nice, but can still see some wear and tear, especially in the toilet. Only 1 desk chair for sitting. Overall, a bit smaller than I expected, but comfortable enough for 2. King bed was a bit hard for me, but pillows had mix of soft and firm, which I liked. Shower only, but had both handheld and rainfall shower heads. Can drink straight from tap. Usual toiletries, including toothbrush/toothpaste and shaving kit provided. No comb. Can request for face towels.
Breakfast is by order with free flow, self-service coffee/tea/juices. Fairly decent in taste.
Service is excellent, with greetings whenever I passed through the lobby and good effort to meet my requests.
Didn't try the pool, but just a note that it appears larger in the photos compared to in real life (to me anyway).
Trip.com had best deal at my time of purchase.
Recommended for a quiet stay with easy access to Orchard + public transport with a bit of walking. Also easy access to Mount Elizabeth Hospital down the road for medical tourists.
Hotel location is quite a distance from nearby amenities.
Service was okay as there wasn't a check in queue when I reach.
Cleanliness is very good. Hot water and pressure from shower is prefect.
Basic amenities provided. Nothing fancy.
Room is very spacious, bed is comfortable and I love the unblocked view.
If you are doing business nearby, this hotel will be suitable. Otherwise, it's a long journey to the city centre.
There are nearby attraction like snow city, science centre and jurong bird park though.
Brought my parents for one day staycation. I decided a place where we hardly go to have that away from home feel. We stay Jurong West. There are many choices near Arcadia but it was Arcadia family room (with window) that attracted me. However, was disappointed as the reception informed that there only 1 of such room and was taken. Felt cheated and that the money was not well spent.
Thoroughly enjoyed our Mother’s Day staycation here. Staff were attentive and accommodating, and we really enjoyed the club lounge because of that. The staff made us a nice yogurt bowl and latte, and even told us that the bananas were grown in the compound. Hotel was very near the mrt and lots of restaurants. All in all, a convenient location!
The four of us stayed here on our visit to singapore. The front desk lady charged or room deposit instead of merely taking a credit card number to charge later in case of damages (this was against policy I discovered later). We stayed in a room with a queen bed and two bunk beds, ensuite bathroom, plus a small balcony. The room was clean and comfortable - all features functioned properly. The location is far from the main areas of the city and on the other side of singapore from the airport. A subway station is about 10-15 minutes walk away. A bus stop is directly in front of the guesthouse. It's a solid 30 minute trip away from little india or little china. Being a hostel we had concerns about noise at night but were not bothered by any. We did not utilize the breakfast option but did eat at the restaurant across the street and found it acceptable. On checkout I found that they could not refund the deposit. After working with the manager over the next several days she refunded the deposit to me via paypal instead of a credit to my original card. That was not desirable at all, but was the best she said she could do. On the whole this was a nice stay, I only advise you to be cautious about your room deposit.
