This hotel is beautifully situated on a very good shopping street right beside the Old town and therefore close to an endless amount of restaurants. There is a lovely coffee shop with beautiful cakes called Ciro about a three minute walk from the hotel on Via Sassari. The tourist office is close by and you can get the bus to the beach on Via Cagliar in front of the market. Note the back of the market is on Via Sasssari. You can buy your bus ticket in the Tabacchi near cafe Ciro, when you come out of the coffee shop turn left and the Tabacchi is on the corner at the next junction. We had a lovely clean room with a balcony, fridge and air-conditioning that was serviced every day. All of the staff that we spoke to very really friendly and helpful and I would like to thank all those on reception who supplied me with a cup of hot water each night. I would have liked a kettle in my room. Also their breakfast service could definitely be improved. You had to queue for hot drinks, orange juice and milk for your cereal. I felt that the orange juice and cold milk could have been left on the table outside the counter, or else have two staff serving. The queue was often very long, through no fault of the girl serving. which meant that often my husband or myself (depending on who joined the queue) was nearly finished his breakfast by the time one of us had received the drinks.

This is simply a lovely hotel. It really has a traditional old Europe feel about it - full of antiques and charm. There is a resident cat and a couple of dogs. The staff really feels like a big family and were so helpful to us throughout or 5 day stay. They really go out of their way to make people comfortable and welcome. The hotel is a wonderful stroll along the water into downtown historic Alghero and we so enjoyed meandering in at night for dinner where we were not dining at the hotel. We chose a sea view room which is a must! The classical Suite Vista Mare was just lovely. Showers were a bit small but we had two bathrooms which was kind of fun so I spread out all over mine and left the other to my husband. Lots of closet space and beautiful bed. The pool is just perfect and you are steps from the sea if you wish to take a dip there as well. The spa looked nice but we just didn't have time to try it. Breakfast is excellent and very copious. We really enjoyed having it on the terrace overlooking the sea. Dinner at the hotel was excellent as well.

This hotel was perfect. We only stayed for one night but wish we had stayed longer. On check in our room wasn’t ready (we arrived at 12pm), so the really nice gentleman at reception took our luggage for us and we went to the bar for a drink. The bar has a cocktail menu and every cocktail we tried was absolutely delicious. The lovely waitress also bought us complimentary nibbles with our drinks. The views from the bar are incredible too. When we got the keys to our room we were immediately blown away by how beautiful the room was. Really well decorated with an amazing view of the ocean! The room was spotless and had all we could need and more. The bed was large and comfortable. We headed to the pool area to relax for a few hours which again was beautiful, a really quiet relaxing setting to get a few hours of sunbathing in. Breakfast was lovely, a lot of variety and everything was really good quality. Again staff in the breakfast room were lovely. All in all I would recommend if you’re in Alghero, just pay the little bit extra and stay here!!! You won’t regret it.

I stayed two nights.. I give 5 points positive review because I don't want to discredit anyone but I still want to clarify the Pro and the Contra and if they don't solve the present problems, I would not recommend the stay. Pro : Excellent location 5 minutes walk from the center Well furnished rooms for people who like the style Contra: Thermal water in the morning ( certainly because only use of solar panels) Rubber in the room we occupied by Substitute Cleaning not by 4 stars, between washing machine and wall ( non silicone ) were present hair and hair of other people Fruit very bad if you delay 30 minutes from opening the room you risk not to Find nothing and have to go elsewhere Personal very home, clothes are not suitable for a 4-star hotel Unconseiled to the great, sin because it has a great potential and despite all reviews with the same problems.. We have just checked out a day early from hotel Alma. I truly don’t mean this to be a scathing review, just a completely transparent one. I do also want to start by saying much as this hotel disappointed us, the staff were absolutely brilliant. Everyone we spoke to was helpful and friendly. This hotel looked amazing online so we booked. We paid extra for a Deluxe double with sea view. When we arrived, our initial impression was disappointing. The hotel is down a dark alley, and the bar in the reception area is tiny. We were informed there is no restaurant here (to be fair we should have checked online first, we just assumed there would be a restaurant on site). We got to the Room, the whole room smelled stale and the bedding absolutely stank of mildew and mould. It was dark and raining when we arrived so we thought perhaps we were being unfair and said we should give it another chance in the morning when it was bright. We stayed in room 401, which was on the same floor as the breakfast room. From 7am, we heard every guest in the hotel walk up and down for their breakfast. The room had a balcony but the door was jammed. We also didn’t realise the hotel faced a busy road so we heard noise from traffic all night. The decor in the room was tired and dated, the curtains in the room were covered in holes from general wear and tear. There was only a thin sheet on the bed, there was a duvet without a cover in the wardrobe but this smelled like it had not been washed from the previous guests. The hair dryer in the room is one of those ancient ones that kept overheating and only worked for 30 second intervals at a time. We tried to go for breakfast on 3 different occasions. We could not get a table the first 2 so had to keep going back to check for a table. When we did get a table the choice was very limited. Flies were landing over the uncovered food, dairy products were left sitting out unrefrigerated and the toaster didn’t work. The hot food options consisted of undercooked scrambled egg, dry bacon, baked beans and chopped up sausage. The bread that was out was stale. The hotel advertised an outdoor rooftop pool which looked amazing in Photos. In reality this pool was a massive let down. The pool itself is small and does not have a bar area - seriously? Why would a rooftop pool in a holiday destination not have a bar? Again, maybe our fault for not checking this first but it would be safe to assume there would be a bar. Also because of the storm the day before and the pool being uncovered the water was filthy and full of debris. The hotel had parking but charged €15 a day for the parking which is a bit steep. I understand this hotel may be ideal for some people, but this was our honest opinion. The hotel has so much potential but is just massively oversold and overpriced in our opinion. The photos are completely misleading and the property looks nothing like the photos. It is also around a 25 minute walk to Alghero old town. We wouldn’t Recomme

We have been in Alghero so many times and in so many facilities and I can finally say I have found our place!! That's a good idea of check-in in autonomy, it doesn't bound you with the time of arrival. The room was perfect with the hydromassage that enriched it even more. Maximum cleaning and attention to the detail. Well heated. Large, bright. With a price suitable for the offer. The gentle staff, the cleaning woman with a cat's slippered step had already started cleaning the rooms and we didn't realize anything (other times we were woken badly by angerous noises of furniture and moved beds). Breakfast at the bar next to the hotel with pleasant and available staff.

I’d stayed in the Rina apartments, next door to the hotel, almost 14 years ago now and knew just how handy the hotel was for the beaches and it’s proximity to the old down too - a pleasant seaside walk in the evening or a short scooter ride if like me you hired a lil Piaggo. Actually with that in mind, you can make good use of the hotel’s underground parking facility as not extra charge, but i digress. You’ll see some reviews moaning about expectations of a 4 star hotel, but do keep in mind Alghero isn’t Dubai so it’s never going to be razzle dazzle. You can expect however, a very warm welcome, especially convivial staff, spotless rooms cleaned daily with a full suits of new towels, a good international mix of guests, quiet by night, and a good choice at breakfast time too if you’re not sleeping off the last nights booze and miss it. Breakfast stops at 10am. I don’t do full board. There is way to much excellent food to be had around town to be tied to one place - be sure to try Refetorrio and their sister pizza restaurant, Bella Napoli on Piazza Civica and Regina Margarita at least once. The hotel is perfectly situated next to well stocked super market, there paddle tennis opposite and a host of beach clubs, bars and restaurants on your door step. If a hire car or scooter is not your thing there’s a great bus service to beaches further afield, mugoni beach is lovely with good grill/fast food and more formal dining (you can still rock up in beach wear) options too. The hotel can also call a cab but get a price first €20 to the airport seemed expensive. So, helpful, pleasant, cheery staff with great english. Clean, airy rooms. Handy for everything. Nice end of corridor balcony with good views for this without a balcony of their own to sit and enjoy a cool ale. I’d book again. A dopo, DSM

Location is perfect, just north of Alghero, and next to the Airport (but no noise). This will be a recurring booking goong forward. Also enjoyed the wildlife, alpine swifts diving in to drink from the pool, large butterflies.

Quiet area, close to the centre (perhaps 5-7 mins walk with a lovely view), big balcony, easy to find a parking lot, friendly staff, AC, the room temperature was perfect given that we booked it in august. Free toiletry, the room has a fridge. Although we couldn't make the coffe in our room, we bought from the reception - which was tasty and not overpriced. In addition to the room rental, you can also have breakfast for $ - 10EUR/ pers if i remember correct (didn't try it but maybe some consider this when booking a room). All in all, would definitely book a room @villa piras again.

This hotel was very disappointing, it was advertised with a private beach including free sunbeds and umbrellas. These were all removed 1/10/23, the day we arrived when the hotel was full of guests. The beach was tiny and very dirty. The sand was full of sea****. When we complained about this we were told to put down a towel on this dirty area if we wished to lay out. The pool towels are charged 3 euro per towel which is not refundable and this is charged very time you request a fresh towel. This hotel is very shabby. From our 4th floor balcony we had a partial view of the sea but our main view was of a graffiti wall opposite the hotel & the sea. The bedroom was dark and no sunlight all day, the decoration and paintwork was very tired. This hotel badly needs to be refurbished. The staff were nice and helpful. We stayed 4 nights here and but could not stick it any longer and requested a move to another hotel which was wonderful. This hotel is located about 20 mins walking outside the old town. The hotel do provide a mini bus into the town in the afternoon and evening. There are no facilities around this hotel. Not a shop, bar or restaurant nearby. The restaurant in the hotel is very limited and expensive. It also doubles as the bar which was in the outside beside the pool. The hotel is located in a residential area overlooked by a derelict apartment block. Breakfast was located in a basement room which was dark and gloomy. The choice of food was very limited, nothing was kept hot. The fruit was poor which kept running out. The staff were nice. The photo shots of the hotel advertised were certainly paint bushed. No at all the same in reality. We would not return to this hotel ever and would not recommend it to others.

Positive experience and which met expectations. Spacious rooms with private bathroom. A little noisy and busy road but very good location with respect to the sea and the center of Alghero. Honest owners and available to customers' needs.

We have just come back from a week here. The room and all hotels area were always clean. The rooms are basic but are quite spacious. After one bad night due to the mattress I put a blanket down on the bed and the next day the housekeeper had put a mattress topper on the bed for us. It is located near bus stop into Alghero and the beach bus to beaches up the coast. All the staff were really friendly and most of them spoke english. My husband has coeliac disease, each morning at breakfast he was given a basket with gluten free cereal, bread, biscuits and offered croissants which were heated in the oven. At dinner the staff showed him what he could have and then gave him the option of having fresh gluten free pasta cooked so he could have the pasta dish. They also cooked meat separately if the sauce wasn't gluten free. We want to say a special thank you to Roberta and all the staff in the restaurant and kitchen for looking after him so well. We really appreciated the time Roberta spent with him each evening and translating to the other staff. We wouldn't hesitate in recommending this hotel and returning if we can.

The camping is in a nice remote location. It is really quiet and far from any city. If you want to go to Alghero, you can use the BeachBus which takes around 45-50 minutes to go downtown. The camping also provides a shuttle service from/to the airport (30 euros for 4 people, 45 for 7). But being remote also has some downsides. If you are without a car, you are limited to what you find in the camping. The breakfast is not well furnished. If you have half-/full-board, you get a fruit juice, a hot beverage, a very sugary pastry and 2 biscotti with marmalade. No fresh bread or cheese. You can buy some in the store, but as they know that buying here is because you cannot buy elsewhere, prices are really high. The restaurant (not a pizzeria) is also not doing its full best. First the schedule for full-board people is tight and you have to come between 12h30 and 13h30 for lunch, and between 19h30 and 20h30 for diner. So this was not ideal as we had to be ready to eat with the kids at precise time and we could not decide to come later to enjoy the sunset or do something else before eating. And the schedule is on the paper, but they usually opened 15min later. Some dishes are very good, others are just re-heated food (sometimes not even enough heated). Serving people are really friendly, be it in the restaurant or for kid’s activities. But people at the main entrance are not that friendly. We even did not get all the information when we first arrived. We had to go to some desk, which was not open so we had to come again later. And even there the information was not complete… We also arrived once with the bus from the city, arms full of our shopping, and the kids got asleep in the bus. We kindly ask them to help us with their little car to bring the kids and/or our shopping but they said that their little car was only for taking care of newcomers… About swimming: there is a swimming pool, bare minimum (no slide, no jumping platform), but swimming caps are mandatory… Who is still doing this in 2022? Hopefully you can go down to the beach in 5min walk so we enjoyed the beach a lot. Nice sand, large, quiet water with little waves, beautiful water with a lot of fishes, sea stars, octopuses and so on. There also are a lot of sea urchin so take some water shoes with you because you could easily step on one. At the beach there is a bar serving beverages and ice creams. But neither in the beach bar, nor in the camping bar could we find some real Italian gelati (ice creams). This was a big disappointment to only get these industrial ice creams when you are in the country of house-made ice creams…

We stayed the the Hotel Donomea for Three Nights and what a wonderful experience, from the Reception Staff to the Breakfast Staff and Cleaners it was First Class. The room was spacious and comfortable with a big bed and a safe and tea making facilities, the Bathroom was really nice with Double Sinks and a Walk in Shower which I love as it's so much safer then an overbath Shower,Breakfast was good with a wide variety for every taste, both hot and cold,it was a ten minute walk to the Old Town and around Fifteen to the Port which is full of fabulous Restaurants.I would highly recommend Latino Restaurant/Bar for good food and drinks at very reasonable prices and excellent customer service and overlooking the beautiful Port, the building is also steeped in History, stay away from Kings Restaurant as it is very expensive and the food is very mediocre, we were shocked at the price. There is a lovely Pizzeria as you turn left out of Hotel across the road, also very good food and very good value,in actual fact there are lots of restaurants in the vicinity of the Hotel. The rooftop pool area is not great and very overlooked but we were not there for sunbathing. We loved Alghero and would definitely stay at Hotel Donomea on our next visit. Thank You Hotel Domomea..
