first point to mention: the internet does not work for guests almost never but for some reason staff are on their mobiles all day long! next: the place and the rooms are extremely old and were obviously never renovated. the kitchen has very mininum utensils, a broken wine opener, broken toaster and a barely working mini oven but no oven pan. utensils are dirty and you have no sponge or soap to wash up properly. 3 plugs for the whole 1br flat and are so old and look like a hazard. kitchen sink is blocked and water needs time to drain plus it smells bad. half of the light bulbs are burned. toilet flash works whenever it wants. shower head runs everywhere and is difficult to control the water but at least there is hot water. also the matress is good. however the first morning i woke up by staff gathered outside the hotels kitchen under the balcony at 7am. the pool is dirty with leaves and other debris going to the bottom. breakfast is a collection of oily english breakfast dishes - even the mushrooms and scrabled eggs seem to have been soaked in oil for some time before served. there are boiled eggs, beans, bacon, and processed cold cuts plus a variety of cheese and local anari. overall there is quantity but no quality. coffee is from a cheap powdered coffee machine. butter and jam taste aweful. whats more there were lipstick marks on one of the "washed" mugs. no basic hygiene rules followed. let alone covid regulations!! sign all over the restaurant saying no self service and the waiter will attend. there is actually no waiter.just a boy at the bar bringing the oily goods from the kitchen to the table and that's it. then you are on your own. staff were passive executing their duties with the minimum effort. one boy attending the bar and breakfast service did far less than the mininum effort (!). the apts are in walking distance to the harbor, a supermarket, a beach, the mall and many coffee places and restaurants. was quite cheap for four nights but i wouldnt NEVER go back NEVER EVER.

I agree with the previous revue from Mharibee to a large degree . We also arrived late on the 29th Feb for one week . Booked with Teletext Holidays but what a poor experience that was . Should have used BookCyprus as we have before and booked flights direct with jet2 from Stansted . Arrived before 10pm and the rooms we booked , 2 x standard studio , were not available and they had allocated us a 3 bed / 2 bath apartment in Penelope block . I believe they thought they were doing us a favour but we would have preferred separate rooms and it was too late in the day to argue the toss as the bar closes before 12 . The apartment was , of course , much bigger than our two rooms would have been , but overlooked the main road , directly opposite a large supermarket on one side , and the bin collection area on the other , both of which could be very noisy , very early . The rooms are certainly in need of refurbishment but are comfortable enough Water heating needed to be done on a demand basis rather than be on tap , and , as for the toilet arrangements ! Suffice it to say , you are not allowed to flush toilet paper , and a waste bin is provided for it . Who'd be a cleaner ? As we arrived late we had no food in the apartment so decided to buy breakfast in the restaurant / bar / entertainment room the next morning at a cost of €7 each which was ok but not impressive considering many of the harbour front restaurants do a full English for €4 or less . We never had another meal there , finding the many local venues had greater variety at very reasonable prices . Amongst these was Stavros ( right under our apartment ) for a gigantic cod and chips, and The Harbour & The Moorings who both do a 3 couse menu for €14.50 & €12.95 respectively . One friendly barman but the draught Keo was poorly kept so we weren't regulars there either , especially as the ' entertainment was not to our taste , although the music on Friday night was excellent ( duo ) . The position of the hotel is faultless , being so close to the harbour with its many restaurants and bars , and the bus station ( standard fare €1.50 ) to as far away as Polis and Coral Bay . We hired a car from the airport through Argus car hire and got a Nissan Note for £40 which included full insurance . Summer rates are at least double . As there were 3 of us this was probably cheaper than paying for transfers with the added advantage of being free to travel around . Reception staff , especially Christiana , were excellent and welcoming . Pool area at the rear of the complex with plenty of Sun beds available but I'm not sure that the same would be true in summer . In summary , for the price we paid , the hotel represented good value , but , unless we could be guaranteed a quieter room , I wouldn't go there again in season , although at this time of year it is ideally placed .

We got stuck at the airport due to cancelled flights and only needed somewhere to sleep for a night. Since easyjet did not help to find a place I booked it myself. Only went for a basic double room. On arrival we were informed that they do not have any doubles available so we got two beds put together but they did upgrade our room. The reception area was absolutely beautiful, with calming music, smelled lovely and had plenty of inviting space to lounge, it did look more than 3*. The room had a side sea view, a balcony, nice toiletries and a good air conditioning. Free wifi included for all the devices. I was really surprised to see that the bathroom door were sliding see through door so I could see my partner on a toilet.. do not understand why it's done this way but we found it funny and laughed it off. Otherwise it was all fresh and clean. The reception staff were nice and helpful. Our very early breakfast had excellent choice the only minus is that the food was almost cold such a pity as otherwise it was great. In general, the hotel is in excellent location to enjoy Paphos night life and we simply can not complain about anything because of the value we got at this hotel. Thank you for making our unplanned extra night in Cyprus as stress free as possible.

Just returned from the Crystallo Apartments again, was a bit worried about travelling in these times but as soon as We arrived We were very impressed with the way things were being done here. All rules being followed and spotlessly clean everywhere. We had a room which opened up on to the pool and it had everything We needed for our stay, the pool area although fairly quiet had all the sun beds spaced out correctly and you could see the maids thoroughly cleaning apartments and communal areas all day. Not many people around in the evenings but the owners son Stathis who works the evenings was always polite and asking if We were having a nice time, where We had been and giving us suggestions of places to visit and eat, nothing seemed too much trouble ( I like a certain wine and He made sure they always had some ) even picked me up some milk one day as He was going to the shop. He was also teaching us some Greek words and we were explaining some English, quite a laugh some nights. The location is great for beach, bars, restaurants and shops but still peaceful enough for a relaxing holiday.

The Annabelle has a great and longstanding reputation. It deserves it. We stayed here for a week in early March. The weather was on our side too.The staff are beyond just efficient. They seem to care. The hotel is a little old fashioned but in a good way. It is spotlessly clean. It is very well run. The rooms are spacious. We found the food to be of a high quality. You are escorted to your table. Its buffet style then.Lots of fresh choices. We enjoyed each meal. The pool upstairs is warm but has a standard depth which is relatively shallow which may not suit everyone. Lots of fresh towels for those who wish to swim or sunbathe. Lots of sun beds too. Our only negative was the lack of entertainment. We had a duo one night who were excellent and a pianist two nights but the other nights nothing. A shame as the large hall has a good ambience and its nice to linger here after dinner. The cocktails were superb! We will be delighted to return.

From arrival at the Anemi suites, we were made to feel very welcome by the front desk staff and it was immediately obvious that the hotel were taking all the necessary precautions to prevent Covid 19. There were sanitisers throughout the hotel at all the main points and we felt very safe and secure indeed. We booked an Executive Suite on 4th floor and were very pleased with our choice with our room overlooking the pool. The room was very spacious and spotlessly clean. It was very modern and had excellent air conditioning and the bed was very comfortable. Lovely large fridge and crockery and cutlery available. The breakfast each day was very fresh, tasty and plentiful and coffee machine made an excellent cup of coffee. Large choice of continental food, and also great choice of hot food available. Again there was sanitiser and disposable gloves that all guests had to wear before entering the breakfast area. We also attended the Sunday Brunch, served between 11am and 3pm on two occasions and there was an amazing choice of food available to try. We certainly did not need an evening meal after it and it was a great opportunity to sample various Cypriot delights. The hotel was quieter than it would normally be due to the circumstances but that had its advantages as there was plenty of sunbeds available around the very large swimming pool. It really was the hotel to go to, to unwind and recharge the batteries and what made it extra special was the individual attention that all the staff gave to all the guests. Every member of the staff that we came into contact with were a credit to the hotel, and I did want to mention a few by name, but unfortunately I have lost the piece of paper with the names I wrote, but one in particular was the Operations manager, I know his name began with P. He was a treasure and never went by us with out some conversation, and on the morning of my birthday he arrived at our breakfast table with 2 glasses of bucks fizz, obviously having noted a conversation we had, had about my usual birthday ritual. And if that was not enough, there was a bottle of prosecco in our room when we returned after our day out. All the reception staff were lovely, but George and I think her name was Alina or similar stood out for never letting you go by without a wee chat. Thankyou for an amazing holiday... we will definitely be back and will book direct next time. xx

Simply put, the Almyra is in my opinion the best hotel in Cyprus. I would never holiday anywhere else on the island, and to be honest, it is my all time favourite destination. Having visited 13 years straight, this year I was devastated to not return. Why you might ask? Where to start! Firstly the staff are exceptional. From the moment you walk into the cool fragrant lobby, you feel enveloped in the warmth and care of the hotel. Nothing is too much trouble and your worries evaporate at check-in. Whilst you are waiting to go to your room you can also enjoy a wonderful cocktail prepared by Dragos in the lobby bar. His cocktail making skills are worth the trip alone. The rooms are light, cool, immaculate and in keeping with the essence of the hotel, boutique chic. There are several pools to lay by, including an adult only one at the luxurious spa. Wherever you choose to while away the day, you can hear and see and feel the sea - and as the sun goes down you are treated to the most marvellous sunset over the castle turrets. The food is exceptional - breakfast, lunch and dinner, with several dining experiences to choose from. Walking distance to the harbour, there is plenty to occupy you outside the hotel if you prefer, and Pafos Watersports are directly in front of the hotel providing you with all your thrill seeking water activities. Whether you are getting married, on your honeymoon, want a romantic stay, or have all your children in toe, the Almyra has all you need.

This is by far the best hotel i have had the pleasure of visiting - ever. I repeat...ever. I have reviewed well over 100 hotels on TA, and i cannot overstate the awesomeness of this property. The place is beautiful, immaculately clean and the rooms are at an unsurpassed standard of comfort. The attention to esthetic detail all over the hotel, public spaces and rooms are, simply put, a straight 10. We stayed in the cabana rooms (009 and 010) and they were truly a special experience. By far, the highest compliment i can give goes to the staff at the Amavi. All of them, without exception, were very courteous, always smiling and highly responsive and professional. I was upset by one reviewer who commented negatively about the staff, so i will say this again - I have never experienced such a high standard of service, from the bell-boys at the entrance, the reception, restaurants, guest services and housekeeping. Credit must be given to the hotel’s GM and to those responsible for the staff training and maintenance of such high standards. The food was better than outstanding. The dinner at Nocturne was one of the best cuisine experiences that i, together with my friends, have ever experienced. Thank you for this weekend experience. We will return - as often as possible - and it is a pleasure to know that you can access such a high-quality property, at a reasonable price.

The Elysium Hotel in Paphos, Cyprus is perhaps the best hotel in the area with spectacular authentically Cypriot, maintained grounds and good dining options; the room although small was comfortable and reasonably appointed. Pool attendants need to be more engaging and helpful with the guests, they like to stand around by the towels hut and chat rather than help guests. Also waiting staff need to regularly circulate the sun lounging areas to get drinks orders –spent most of my time trying to catch their eye for service. This is a particular pet hate of mine the world over- external training needed Breakfast had plenty of good choice and the waiting staffs were attentive, although it did get noisy at breakfast on occasions with the theatre of the chef at the egg station, breakfast should be a calm relaxing affair rather than a frantic grab for food at the buffet and excessive noise. I liked the Cypriot themed restaurant-Meditenaneo which we went to on our first night. The Hotel is nicely situated with long coastal walks nearby and up to the lighthouse. I did think the lobby was a little dated and check in was tiresome with elderly staff as bell boys this needs to be changed with fresh young blood that were not so hungry for the tip at a drop of a hat- it was like stepping back in time with these old retainers. Room lacked wow factor with poor choice of washroom amenities seemed rather cheap-had to ask for flowers and fruit for room. Although we had a deluxe room –view was not great and I did feel that the choice of room we were given did face out to a large area of parched land rather than a sea view –given we arrive at night, tired I did not have the energy to ask to change or complain. We had a pleasant stay for 4 nights –probably overpriced for what is on the market in other parts of the world. Would have liked the GM Christos Papamiltiadous to have reached out to us during our stay as is customary in Five star properties. Top tip chose your room very carefully to get the best view and don’t be afraid to ask if something is missing from your holiday experience.

We really enjoyed our stay at capital coast, the hotel is nice and clean with great views. The room was clean and modern and the staff are all very friendly and attentive. Also the food was really nice, including the poolside food which seemed to be made fresh. There are also many decent restaurants a 10/15 min walk away, and the harbor is a short taxi ride away. The younger barman who worked on the pool bar and indoor bar was particularly friendly and knows his stuff with regards to cocktails. I dont understand the negative reviews on this hotel as i think you’d struggle to get nicer facilities, food and drink for the price of this hotel.

Just come back from a week long stay at this hotel.. Here are my pros and cons: Pros The reception/foyer is beautiful and is kept in pristine condition. The swimming pool has ocean views. We were just sad that we weren't able to get in because it was out of season and therefo cold. The breakfast buffet was perfect, with so much variety, from pastries, to fruit and cheese to fried breakfasts and cereal. Lots of drinks too. Large dining area and apart from the bank Holiday, we never struggled to find a table. Free parking if you wanted to hire a car. UK plug sockets in room instead of European. Lots of storage space in room. Shower had immense power for 1.50 euro each way (or 5 euros which enables you to jump on and off any buses all day). The impressive reception area doesn't quite match the quality of the bedrooms. They were basic and fairly dated, although clean. Bathrooms are small with not a great deal of storage. The neckter bar was nice if you couldn't be bothered to venture out on an evening, but it was fairly small in there, and a few of the tables seated 4+ people which took up a lot of room. I can imagine this to be heaving once the season kicks in. The walls are super thin. On our 1st night, I thought it was breakfast time because I was woken by several people coming and going, talking, letting their hotel doors slam shut, dropping things etc. Turned out it was only 4am and they were quite clearly just disrespectful. Regardless of this, you could hear conversations next door etc if you were sat in silence. We paid extra for a 'side sea view' and was a little worried about how bad this view would be, but I was pleased with the room I got (see photos). The spa I thought was quite shabby. My husband went in the indoor pool a couple of times whilst I sat round the outside and read. The pumps in the jacuzzi area were rarely on, and the water was tepid. Most of the chairs around the poolside were beanbag style and they had mould on them. That matei obviously doesn't work where water and condensation are involved. There was a little couch and lamp area as you came in that I'm guessing is meant for quiet time, and to offer some sort of sanctuary. After squeezing myself through the hole, I went and sat down and realised my view was of the wall of the staircase. I got up and had a damp arse, and realised people had been sat on this fabric couch with wet swimming costumes/shorts on. Also, this isn't the hotels fault but on one of the occasions, we were joined by a father and his 2 very noisy children, so it went from a peaceful place of me reading my book, to 2 kids jumping in doing water bombs and me getting soaked and having to move chairs. They became that loud that we ended up leaving. It just spoilt the atmosphere of what's meant to be a relaxing place. All in all, although I liked this hotel, location wise, I'd move a bit closer in.

I usually don't write bad comments when I don't like the property but in this case I will even I liked the hotel and the location. We confirmed our transfer to the airport during the morning (our flight was early morning next day) and a nice lady in the morning shift did at 05:00AM as per our request; what happened next was that at 04:30AM I received I called that woke me up saying our transfer was there and basically I didn't react because I was sleepy. When we arrive to the reception at 04:50AM the night receptionist (a man) informed us, in a not very nice way, that our transfer left and that we needed to pay another one by own. We explained him what happened in the morning, that we asked to be at 05:00AM and that the lady told us yes, but he just limited himself to answer well you need to book another one; I even asked him why he did't call us back again to the room before allowing the transfer leave and he just kind of laughed about my question. Our mistake was not asking the name of the lady in the morning because he was asking that several times but I need to emphasize that the reason of my complaint that really bothered us was the attitude of the receptionist. Mistakes happen in a daily basis and the morning shift probably just forgot to update our pick up time or just didn't write it down but that attitude of 'WELL THIS IS WHAT YOU HAVE' and 0 help to look for alternatives or at least looking at the forms collected of the guests that they should have... I can tolerate many things while I am on vacation, specially because I know first-hand how hard is to work in a hotel and in general in tourism , but a non-service attitude that makes you feel that they are basically doing you a favor: ITS UNBEARABLE FOR ME. At the end we needed to pay for our transfer back because we needed to leave and we didn't have time to argue more but, again, what it is really wrong, is the bad attitude and the apathy towards the client in the hospitality. Please train better your team to avoid angrier guests.
