We spent 4 nights here when exploring the Basque Country. It was the perfect location - close to the old town and the Guggenheim. We could walk to everywhere in the city, and the tram stopped just the other side of the bridge for if travelling further afield. There were handy shops and a bakery just around the corner and the kitchen was well equipped for preparing light meals - we ate breakfast here every day. The room was spacious, clean and warm, tastefully decorated in a neutral style. Polite and helpful staff. We would definitely stay again next time we visit Bilbao, and will try other hotels from this chain.

We had a lovely 4 night stay at the at Mercure Bilbao Jardines de Albia - Great welcome, Our ‘Privilege’ Room on the 7th floor was lovely very spacious with a very comfortable King size bed, large closet with hanging and shelf space and a large safe. There was a minibar with complimentary water 2 still and 1 sparkling, 2 beers and 2 Coca Cola which was replenished every day. There is a coffee machine. Good controllable air conditioning. The Bathroom had a large walk-in shower. There is a nightclub nearby so there is some noise at night so if you are a light sleeper you should ask for a quiet room. Perfect location - The hotel is 15 min stroll to the Guggenheim museum and its about 10 minute walk from the centres of both the old and new towns, there is a Corte Ingles about 10 mins walk away on the main street and the hotel is just a couple of minutes from the river. The Lobby bar is great and the staff are pleasant and helpful and prices are very reasonable – it was lovely sitting outside having a glass of wine. It is very easy to get to from the airport A3247 bus stop, Journey from the airport is about 20 minutes. Great staff All the staff we met were helpful. Reception is on the 3rd Floor. Breakfast is on the 4th floor with good coffee machines and a great fresh orange juice machine. Thank you to all the restaurant and bar staff especially the manager and also Pedro. The housekeeping was efficient, and everything was spotless. There are so many amazing restaurants and bars in Bilbao serving great food – We were lucky enough to be in Bilbao for the start of the festival and we really enjoyed the amazing firework display on Saturday night. We are already looking forward to returning to Bilbao and the Mercure Bilbao Jardines de Albia.

I stayed with my partner and 5 year old. Lovely boutique hotel, very central. We were facing the street so was very noisy at night with drunken people outside ( even with the windows shut). The reception staff were very nice. The first morning we had breakfast , included in our price and was very enjoyable. The second morning there was an older Spanish waitress who was very rude. We were going to fix up for one breakfast on checkout but she made a big deal that we had only booked one breakfast and spoke to us in Spanish. I told her that I did not understand but she continued to raise her voice. My 5 year old ate nothing so we put some melon slices in a lunch for up in the room. She charged over and raised her voice in Spanish pointing at the melon slices. . My partner emptied the melon onto a plate which she grabbed and threw in the bin. It was very humiliating. I told reception and they did not seem surprised. When I went to fix up , reception charged us again for the first mornings breakfast which was €16 per head. Also you are charged a daily rate for parking so it all added up to be an expensive stay.

The room is compact. The location is very good, just by the river, within walking distance of the main attractions in the city. There are no vegetables for breakfast, mainly custard meat and cereal. There is no ironing board, laundry room, no disposable supplies. The gym is in the basement, very small and no windows. The elevator has ladder control, but it is not very sensitive.

500% recommendation. Amazing place at the perfect location. A 5-10 minute walk to the old town, 20 minutes to the Guggenheim and the metro to the seaside is just outside the door. Staff is incredibly Friendly and even if it's technically a hostel it's better than many a hotel I've stayed at. Like in a hostel, there's daily activities but you can choose if you want to mingle or use it as a hotel and not talk to anyone, as the common room is on the subterranean floor. Even during live music didn't hear a peep on the second floor. Comfortable beds, the double room was spacious, stylish and had a great shower. Would always come back here.

We arrived late at night at the hotel after a day's travel but the hotel staff greeted us warmly and were there to help us with our bags. The hotel is located opposite San Mamés Stadium towards the west end of the city centre, with handy tram stops nearby. However we walked while in the city, 5 minutes or so down to the river, 15 minutes to the Guggenheim and 20-25 minutes to the old town, a great location. The hotel is a modern build, bit of a 'block' but not without character. We had a good sized room, all the expected facilities, including tea and coffee making. The bed was comfortable and large! The toilet was not spacious but there was plenty room and all the facilities one would expect, a good shower and plenty of hot water. Unfortunately, we didn't have much of a view from our room, we looked out over a courtyard and the town at the back of the hotel with a tree partially obscuring the window. This wasn't a huge drawback for us, as we spent more time out than in however it might be a consideration. The other side of the hotel looks out on to the football stadium. There was no game on while we were there but I would imagine it would be busy and noisy during a match. The hotel has a terrace bar that overlooks the river but this was not open during our stay. We had booked rooms with breakfast and this is one of the highlights of this hotel. There is a great range of options, laid out buffet style. There are also cooked items available. The food covered local offerings, 'international' items and some temptations, ever had a glass of Cava or a 'Bloody Mary' for breakfast? I enjoyed the fruit, the pastries, smoked salmon, rolls and toasted bread, really appreciating so much variety and quality food. The coffee from a 'pod' machine was rich and tasty. Other hot drinks were available. A word too for the friendly waitress who ran the whole show with calm efficiency, she was always there to advise and help. Generally we ate in the town centre however one night we ate locally at a good pintxos bar, busy with a fine selection of food and rink, about ten minutes walk from the hotel. There seemed to be plenty other options close by that might be worth exploring. Check out was 12:00 which gave us time for a final walk before we left. The hotel provides a left luggage service which enabled us to leave our bags while we went to pick up our hire car. This was the first hotel on our holiday and from the initial warm welcome to the helpful services on departure we enjoyed our stay. Comfortable rooms, the great breakfast and helpful and friendly staff all came together to provide a very enjoyable experience.

We arrived via the airport bus and found the accommodation easily thanks to reading the reviews beforehand. It is a doorway with a many signs including one for Bilbao city rooms. The rooms are on floors 4 and 5 with Reception on the 4th. Check in was fast and simple with a warm welcome from the lady at reception. The whole two floors have well lit clean corridors and the lift is great. The room was a very clean well presented modern double with a large shower room and plenty of storage. The window s can be opened and I like other reviews mentioning the heat and the ceiling fan... we can say it’s chilly at night but the heating does come on at ten! The location of these room is very central and excellent l. Great transport links if needed but we walked all around the old and new parts of the city with the Guggenheim, bars and restaurants all on our doorstep. Shopping in Bilbao is fantastic and dint be afraid to visit the 2nd hand stores .. some amazing finds!!!

I needed my boyfriend to stay over while I was traveling and this was the perfect place. This isn't a 5-star hotel, but it did the trick and we were very comfortable - here is why. PROS - Coming from Bilbao Airplane or taking Bus?...: It is close to 2 blocks from Bilbao Intermodal and if you are coming from the airport, this hotel is an easy walk from where the bus drops you off in San Mamés. The location is also SUPER safe. - Transportation: If you look down the street and cross it, you will also see the tram station along with the metro station. - Food?: There is food everywhere. This is Bilbao. Spend 2 euros (or really please buy a Barik card) and go into the city, you won't be disappointed. The best part about the tram is that it goes theoretically left or right. I live close to NYC so I understand it can be complicated, but the system in Bilbao, chef's kiss. - Bed/Room: Pro? The bed/room you get in sleek, modern, and for a REALLY CHEAP PRICE! Please don't hassle your way into spending a lot of money on a hotel in Spain. It is not truly worth it. Just get this place, feel comfortable, and safe. - Staff? There are not many, but the ones that are there will help and accommodate you. You just need to be nice. I say this because I went in to check in and someone was being helped. They weren't that nice to staff, so please remember, we are all human. CONS - Cleaning: I will say, the bathrooms were clean, but the headboard for me was dusty. It might have been that the room wasn't used a lot. But please don't worry, it did not effect my stay considering the price was reasonably cheap. - THE ENTRANCE!: You need to understand, their rating is a 2/5 stars but it is NOT because they are bad, in Spain it is based on what the hotel/hostels have and DON'T have. So what they don't have is a front reception. Listen closely if you are going to go here. Once you get on the street, you will need to buzz into the door as if you are requesting to go to someone's apartment. OR they will give you a code before hand. The hostel has very clean multibed rooms. The bed was also very clean. Unfortunately the bed was for my size a few centimeters too short. There was nothing to make at the cleanness of the sanitation facilities. The community bathroom and shower were very clean. The breakfast was very simple but feeling sufficient. Very clean breakfast room and also very clean living room with large flat-screen TV. The staff was very nice and friendly and helpful. The staff also speaks English. Credit card payment is also possible. Two chairs are also available. Completely disabled-fitted. Super. There are sufficient parking facilities on the ground floor of the youth hostel. Different drinking and sucking machines were also available. 24Stunden Reception. The views, restaurants, city centre, churches and museums cannot be reached on foot. Bus No. 28 is just in front of the house and is going to the city centre. I had my room on the 7th floor. From there you had (just in the night) a spectacular view of the city. It simply radiated everything. Very wonderful. Want to stay there again in any case, provided I am in Bilbao. Good and cheap. But a super youth hostel.

The hotel is located in a very central area, as well as convenient for reaching all the city's attractions on foot. Located along one of the main streets of Bilbao, it is still very close to the metro station (Indautxu stop), as well as having the local bus stop right in front of the hotel entrance; furthermore, the bus station that connects the city center to the airport is located about 500 meters away. So what can I say, it's very central! The hotel is of excellent quality and very clean, the rooms are large and comfortable, the reception staff is quite courteous. But what I will never forget is the comfort of the bed, one of the best I have slept in so far! An extra-large double bed, in which it was very pleasant to spend time beyond the hours of sleep; let's also say that, in the morning, it pleasantly stole some of the precious time we had allocated to visiting the city. I can't comment on breakfast, as we booked for room only. To be recommended.

The location is very good, I feel that this is a veteran five-star hotel with a strong Basque style design. The suite I stayed in, the room was large, the view was good, and there was a garage in the ground. Maybe the room is not new enough, but it is well maintained. Next to the park, walk to the Basque Museum for 5 minutes and Guggenheim for 10 minutes. I recommend.

Great location: just 2 minutes’ walk from Guggenheim (we arrived by taking air bus and we got off at the first stop; 3 minutes’ walk with the help of GPS and we reach the hotel; same for taking air bus for departure). 6-8 minutes’ walk and you’ll arrive at Gran Via; 20 minutes to get to Intermodal for taking the bus to San Sabestian. Lots of places to eat nearby. And we didn’t choose the breakfast inclusive option because we didn’t need a big breakfast. 2 minutes’ walk and you’ll find a place for coffee and a good croissant. Our room was quiet; didn’t hear any noise. Our room had a view of the museum; I assumed it’s an upgrade. Staff were very friendly and helpful. For tourists who want to see Guggenheim day and night, this is it!

Un hostel muy comódo con un buen ambiente. La ubicación es ideal si quieres pasar tu tiempo en el Casco Viejo, y está al lado del río y las calles principales del Casco Viejo. Las camas y salas son comódas y los lockers y aseos funcionan bien. El ambiente en la área común es muy acogedora y el equipo nos ayudó con cualquier duda. La terraza en la quinta planta es muy bonita. Hay ruido por las calles y los pasillos por la noche así que vale la pena traer un tapón para los oídos. Hay que pedir para que te den el mando para el aire acondicionado, pero funciona bien. Y recordar que hay que sacar las sábanas de cama y ponerlas en las cajas que hay por las escaleras - que no es un hotel!

We stayed four nights in a NYX Suite in the middle of August. This hotel has an excellent location at the entrance to the old Town. The Renfe train station to Madrid and Barcelona is about 6 minutes walking across the bridge right in front of the hotel. This bridge also takes you to the major shopping street of Bilbao as well. The Guggenheim is a pleasant 20 minute stroll along the river and around the corner you'll find the Plaza Barria with some of the best pinxto bars in the Basque country. The metro station that will take you right to the intermodal bus station is a short 2 minute walk away. The suite was compact with only a double bed, but the bathroom was roomy and the shower easily fit two. Storage was minimal, but there was a safe, mini fridge, iron and ironing board. The coffee maker was an imitation Nespresso, but the pods were Lavazza. The balcony had a fantastic 270 degree view of the old Town and the newer city across the river. A negative note: Almost every evening we came home to discover a new invasion of ants crossing our room, slipping under the door and parading down the hall.

Breakfast is on the 4th floor with good coffee machines and a great fresh orange juice machine. Thank you to all the restaurant and bar staff especially the manager and also Pedro. The housekeeping was efficient, and everything was spotless. There are so many amazing restaurants and bars in Bilbao serving great food – We were lucky enough to be in Bilbao for the start of the festival and we really enjoyed the amazing firework display on Saturday night. We are already looking forward to returning to Bilbao and the Mercure Bilbao Jardines de Albia.

I used to go to Milan and live in this brand hotel, the service is good. It takes about a walk to the old town 15-20 minutes. It is very convenient to go to the city center by bus downstairs. I thought I'd exhausted my search of hotels in Bilbao, but stumbled upon the Bilder Boutique Hotel quite late on before my trip. I'm glad I did! For the standard of the rooms, I thought it was very reasonably priced: approx. £130 per night with breakfast. I opted for an 'inside' room, which had a window onto a small courtyard. Despite being very central in the old town, this meant it was incredibly quiet overnight, even with the window open. The room itself was lovely: spotless, good tea and coffee facilities, comfy bed and a great bathroom. The hotel is in the old town itself and, very conveniently, less than a 5 minute walk to a Metro stop. Also, the bus to the airport is just a 15 minute walk away at Plaza Noyoa. Lots of other attractions, bars and restaurants all within a 5 to 20 minute walk. Reception staff were very friendly. My only complaint was at breakfast time. Breakfast was lovely, and arguably very good value for the amount you bet, but the service wasn't particularly friendly. There was a language barrier with an older guy working over the weekend. I just felt this isn't a reason to come across as quite cold. By contrast, the guy serving on the Sunday morning also didn't speak English, but was still very friendly.

Stayed at this wonderful little hotel for 3 nights over the weekend. As a budget hotel, don't expect unbridled luxury, because you'll be disappointed. What you'll get is a clean, compact and functional room, excellent breakfasts, and reception staff that are exceptionally efficient, friendly and helpful, and all speak English to a high standard. A pleasant apartment in a quiet neighborhood with friendly reception. Nearby is a supermarket, coffee maker and a good bar/restaurant. Also transport to the center is easy with bus 38 (exit 1st stop after t complex) or metro. The complex is also a little noisy (contact sounds and stinging doors), the apartment does not work as a apartment, because there are no kitchen stuff, no cleaning and soaps, etc. The latter need not be insurmountable and then the price-quality ratio is good. Very good location. Right next to Guggenheim museum and red bridge. Well connected to the airport and Bilbao Internodal via Alameda Recalde ( 2 mins from the hostel). Comfortable beds (female dorm), very quiet room and no noise from outside, decent bathrooms and very clean too , decent sized locker(get your own padlock), very good bar and restaurant attached to the hostel, several bars around the area, nice and friendly staff. Cant get any more than this in a hostel.
