      We stayed in one of the ocean view rooms. Yes, the room was small but we had no complaints. I was surprised that despite facing the bike/pedestrian paths, there was little noise at night (it was a weeknight). The location is perfect, right on the beach and 2 blocks from Washington Blvd, which has many restaurants/bars. There are sitting areas in front and on the roof; the roof top view is great but they could really use some umbrellas up there for shade. Parking is an issue; we were unable to reserve parking ahead of time and ended up parking several blocks away. Overall, we had a very pleasant one night stay. Venice is not everyone's cup of tea, but if you are looking for a place to chill out while watching the waves and the people, this is a good place to do it.

      I have stayed at the Inn at Venice Beach on Washington Blvd 4 or 5 times the past few years. Just stayed there again for 6 days. First, the staff is always friendly and there to help/go the extra mile. Rooms/entire hotel is really clean and all rooms are a very good size with comfy beds. Pre-Covid, I loved the big morning continental breakfast which added great value to the already reasonably priced rooms. Perfect location to a ton of restaurants on Washington and close to the beach. 1 minute walk to the Venice Canals too. Love this place and will definitely stay there again and again. I always feel welcome there and recognize the same main staff members every time I’ve gone the last 3 years. Well done Inn at Venice Beach!!!

      The location, the new renovated rooms and the friendly atmosphere make this a great place to stay. For leisure, or for business. Situated right across from the marina, and the beach there, this hotel gives you a classy oceanside feel, and borders Venice Beach too for a great mix of classy, cool and funky. It's an easy walk to Venice Beach and up the boardwalk. It's easy to get to & from the airport without being too close to it to feel like an airport hotel. It's not that. Having stayed there a few years ago, we were pleased to see how nice the room renovations are. Great job! Special call out to the Sinder bar team. Excellent service, friendly and accommodating. It was so great we stayed an extra night! If I had a complaint, it would be $45 per night for valet. ;(

      We’ve been here a couple of times before and each time we become more disappointed. Stayed here twice in the last 2 weeks during our vacation and we’re surprised of the lack of effort and service. During checking in or out the staff is sitting down, never experienced that anywhere in the world before, in other parts of the world it’s the guests that’s sitting down while being taken care of. The staff is more interested in talking to each other than to guests. During our second stay there was no table beside the lounge chair, walked down and they told me there’s never been a table. Strange, every other room has one. But was told they would bring a table the next day. Came back to the room next day, no table, asked again and was assured it would be delivered in an hour but no. Didn’t bother asking a third time. Breakfast is a joke. It’s called a buffet but save yourself the 15$ and go somewhere else. On three of the four mornings on the last stay the didn’t even hade bacon. Asked but the answer was that that they hadn’t got any delivered. Come on, a breakfast in the US without bacon. And why no plates, you eat your food from styrofoam containers, not only is it not very inviting but not very good for the environment. I know the hotel industry wants to blame everything on covid but when your paying over 300$ a night this isn’t good enough. The pool lacked towels most mornings we were there, in the pool there were plastic mugs that my wife cleaned up etc. Prior to coming here we spent a few nights in Vegas, paying maybe 30 $ more for a 5 star hotel a night but compared to HGI Marina del Rey it was like day and night in comparison. On a positive note, the housekeeping did an excellent job, but you have to request to have the room cleaned the day before. Next time in Marina del Rey we’ll be looking to stay elsewhere unfortunately, because this has always been one of our favorite places to stay at.

      I would probably score this place at a 4.5 as it has some great positives but a few minor area to improve. The location is amazing and the staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. The room was actually described as having a city view but it did also have a view of the sea which was great. The room was spacious and clean and big enough for 3 people. The door for the bathroom could do with being fixed in properly and having only one lift and with the roof terrace being very popular does make it sometimes a wait! All being said this is a great base to explore LA from!

      I've stayed here in past with no issues but this time its like going to a terrible hostel. Due to covid kitchen and lounge closed but they don't mention that on the website I used which is agoda. Fairly certain they stopped requiring passports due to covid, as people aren't supposed to be flying into USA for vacations. As a result I had issues with people in the rooms that wouldn't normally be able to stay at this hostel. One guy wanted window closed. Thats dangerous due to coronavirus. Later I saw him with the crazies on the boardwalk. The 2nd room everyone was smoking in the room. They both were friends i did not feel comfortable switching on them. How can I snitch on two guys and then sleep in the room. The desk girl previously told me it was the last room she could offer me. So I left and slept in my car and no refund was allowed. To me they are running a scam operation. If i sell a pizza at work, and its the wrong food and the person doesn't want it, I have to give a refund if they don't want another one. Will not return.

      Air Venice on The Beach

      Honestly, we booked this place because it was the cheapest place we could find ON the beach in all of the L.A. area. Previous reviewers have complained about homeless people, no air conditioning, noise, and poor WiFi. For starters, we can only speak for the ocean-view rooms. We love the beach, most any beach, and like being able to see the beach from the room. Venice Beach is a great people-watching place. Apparently there was a large homeless encampment here a few months ago, but that has been moved. There’s a bar/restaurant on each side of the hotel, and both have music most evenings that can be heard in the room. We stayed Wednesday through Saturday nights. The music ended by 9 on weeknights and by 10:30 on the weekend. The only time it was a problem for us was on Saturday afternoon when one bar had a band so loud it made the room almost uninhabitable for a few hours. Once the music stops, it’s remarkably quiet in the evenings. The view is across a parking lot, but still great. A higher floor would improve the view. And that parking lot is handy. $7 for all day, 6 a.m. til midnight; but you can’t find park there overnight. The recommended parking, in the Renaissance garage is a nice, underground garage, about a 5-minute walk away. $20 for 24 hours. We had no problem with the WiFi. In short, we liked the place. And, FWIW, we’re old retired people. The regular clientele is much younger.
