We have just returned from a wonderful holiday in this hotel. The staff are the jewel in the crown, they are amazing - without exception. All so friendly, helpful and always cheerful - despite the rudeness of some guests. We felt we.elcomed from the minute we entered the hotel right up to our departure. The rooms are spacious and clean, decor perhaps a little dated but not really an issue. Towels changed as often as you require, rooms are kept spotlessly clean. The minibar is topped up daily. The choice of restaurants provides something for everyone and the pizza slices, ice cream and crepes are welcome during the day if you just want a quick snack. Drink choices are good, as is the entertainment which finishes at 11.00pm, so not too late for those who don't want to stay up later. Indooor swimming pool was still closed due to covid which was disappointing, but not a big issue. Masks required when walking around restaurant which we welcomed. Plastic glove required for self service I n restaurant, which again we welcomed as a very sensible precaution. Beachfront hotel with private beach, the attendant is so friendly and helpful. Hotel is close to amenities, bus stop, old town. We didn't experience any issues with sun beds etc but we are up reasonably early. The lifeguard is very helpful and deals with issues around the pool. The DJ plays music 11.00 to 3.00pm each day - a wide variety of music for everyone but if you dont like it there is another quieter pool. This hotel goes the extra mile for its guests. This was our first visit and would have no hesitation in returning. We are well travelled and this hasto be one of the best all inclusive hotels we have stayed at. We are looking at other hotels in the group too, but doubt they will be able to provide a welcome to match our experience here - thank you to all at Mitsis Grand!

Hotel in a good location, and once you get your bearings, it's only a 10 min walk to the old town and harbour. The hotel is very clean and the staff were exceptional, especially the restaurant manager and his staff, and also our cleaner. The room was much smaller than we had expected, no bigger than say a Travelodge room back home - fine for a couple of nights but not brilliant for any longer. Lived out of a suitcase as wardrobe small and not many hangers. Bathroom tiny and a bit of a squeeze. Air con not brilliant either. The balcony was very narrow, although we did enjoy the sea view. Breakfast was OK, but I can't speak highly enough about the service with a smile offered by the restaurant staff. A nice hotel overall but with limitations if you are staying for more than a few days.

A delayed review as we visited in September 2021 but I cannot speak highly enough of Mayia ! The staff are absolutely amazing, all so very helpful and it really made a difference. I am gluten free and staff were amazing with allergies particularly in the Greek restaurant where the chef made calamari specially gluten free for me and went out of his way to ensure I could eat most things. Vasilis in the Greek restaurant was an absolute diamond, the best ever! We had a private dining meal for my birthday and he was our waiter and made the night so special with wine recommendations and showing us how to properly taste wine. He then was with us every time in the Greek restaurant and was always a delight. Pavlos in the Greek was also amazing and was very helpful. The menu in the Italian is very limited for Gluten Free at dinner but they did do the most amazing pizza at lunch! The menu at the Asian was also limited for me but the food I did have was amazing and I’m still dreaming about the bbq duck! We went to the main bar “Del Mar” every night and the drinks were top tier! Lemon vodka, Malibu and cocktails were my favourites and Vasilieos was the best bar tender! He never left us with an empty drink and the bar nuts were much appreciated. In the buffet, staff were all very accommodating and assisted me in letting me know which things were gluten free and anything else I wanted to let them know and they remade it GF & brought it out to me - amazing service! The pool sunbeds were spaced well so you didn’t feel too on top of eachother and didn’t have to get up early for them. The rooms were very spacious and swim up is fab although not very private. We absolutely loved it and have recommended to friends and family!

We had to quickly reschedule our original trip to Crete due to covid19 and found this lovely place which is well worth the drive from Rhodes airport. The place was perfect for our family of 3 with a 21 and 19 year old in a two bedroom apartment. The place was spotless and George and the manager attentive to our every need. There is food and cocktail bar onsite and a selection of pools to chose from. Despite our party being late risers, there was always a sunbed free. A 5 minute walk at you are at the town square with many choices for food and drink. 10 minutes you are at the beach with yet more restaurants to chose from. We loved it here and it was the perfect chilled getaway for us.

Stayed here for 1 week self catering and couldn’t complain! Hotel staff were very welcoming and friendly. Our room was cleaned every day with fresh towels provided and we also had electric shutters for the windows which made it feel very secure. I did find the beds to be really firm and would have preferred a softer mattress for my liking. We purchase the air con for the room which was great as the temperature was around 30 degrees or more each day, would recommend this plus it wasn’t expensive. The room had a lovely view across the garden area. The pool area was well maintained and clean with plenty of beds available. The hotel was only a couple of minutes walk to the nearest bars and restaurants and about 10 minutes to the beach. Well recommended!

The best option for vacations in the city centre!

I am happy to give this hotel five stars because the architecture is beautiful, and the pools, food and staff are very good. The sea view from our room (and from the hotel in general) is very impressive. No sunsets though as the hotel faces the "wrong" way. The atmosphere at the resort is very calm and serene, excellent for relaxation. Service at the bar was a bit slow though - it took 20-25 minutes to get a drink at the bar in the evenings and by the pool during the day. This was not due to the members of staff taking it easy, there just was not enough of them, and perhaps the app for ordering was not working as well as it maybe should have been, even the waiters seemed to struggle with it. Cleaning was excellent and service otherwise very good. Food was plentiful and varied, if not particularly ambitious. The pillows were really bulky and I've never previously experienced a wicker headboard that creaks every time you go near it. I had to sleep without a pillow in the end and use the extra cover to pad the headboard to stop it waking me up every time I moved in my sleep. I think the thing I most enjoyed about this resort was the quietness during the day, even by the pools. There was no music, except for aqua gym, which was fun and surprisingly effective. There were plenty of sunbeds available on the beach if we were not up with the lark in the morning to reserve one by the pool. Evening entertainment was also okay, even if there were not enough tables in the area where it was possible to see more of the performers than their backs. This review is starting to sound like a list of niggles (and I have not even got to the little flies that kept pestering me during yoga yet). This was not my original intention at all as the resort is great for anyone who wishes to disconnect from the world for a while and simply relax and enjoy. With a few small improvements it could be perfect.

I booked a holiday to Greece. I planned the trip down to the last detail including the COVID mandates with the assistance of my travel advisor from an agency called Blue Sea Holidays. I received invaluable advice from an experienced traveller who passed on all her encouragement to somebody whose dyspraxia means airports are difficult to navigate. She booked me assistance through the airport. It was at her reminder that my COVID letter arrived before I departed. I set forth to Gatwick with all my documentation in an old envelope. I took the shuttle bus to the North terminal. I arrived at the special assistance desk. It was clear they expected me. A member of staff guided me through all the security checks. I made it through to the ground floor. I was tempted by the shops. I replaced my old envelope with a fresh plastic one. I thought I had all my documentation. I believe that it was at that crucial moment I threw away my passport in the tattered old envelope. I was on my way to the plane when I realised, to my horror, that my passport was not with me. The staff conducted a search in the bins for my passport. It was nowhere to be found. I missed my flight. I remain indebted to Blue Sea holidays for their invaluable guidance. The advice of travel agents is a needed skill, particularly for those with severe dyspraxia who be daunted by the co-ordination needed for adventures like solo travel.

The hotel is a disaster. First day we arrived they placed us in the room 405. The room had nothing to do with the photos on the website. Shower had a curtain which hasn't been changed for YEARS! The curtain was supposed to be white but on the bottom the colour had turned into dark yellow!!!Just to mention a shower curtain cost 5 euros! When we tried to turn on the air condition it wasn't working so I called the reception. They tried to convince us that the air condition was OK as they didn't have any other complaints (strong argument) but I demanded to change room. In the new room (room 411) the controller of the air condition wasn't working so I took the initiative and went to the old room and exchange the controllers. Finally we had a room with air condition. The new room had a much better bathroom with shower screen (no yellow curtain) with a very dirty hair dryer that I believe it was last cleaned when the shower curtain was placed in the first room. We stayed there for 6 nights. They never changed the sheets and the towels, the never mopped the floor, actually the didn't provide any service a 4 star hotel is supposed to provide especially during covid times! The "cleaner" was just folding our towels and sheets so she was not actually cleaning but just increasing the risk of spreading covid as she was touching all the surfaces/sheets/towels of all rooms. Generally the hotel is not well maintained, it is very dirty and surely you can not call it boutique hotel as it has no style or nice decoration. It is more a 2 star hotel, not even 3 star and surely not a 4 star hotel! It could be a good hotel if the managers/owners cared enough. The only good thing is the location. Rhodes is beautiful so just pick another hotel!
