Spent 2 nights at the Hotel Tor Toad . At the very entrance you will find a United Kingdom flag and a car parked next to it ( also with United Kingdom flag stickers on it ) . The lobby is small but designed to look cozy with a fireplace . Room is very small indeed and does need a coat of paint at some places but the comfortable bed and the bathtub makes up for the small size room. Wifi is available in each room . The room tariff is very reasonable , considering the hotels perfect location with restaurants ,shops and bars near by . The hotel is walking distance from Sannomiya station , so from those arriving at the hotel by train , its very convenient . The staff at the reception desk does speak English ( which is a great help for foreigners) . A lovely ( buffet ) breakfast is served at "Little Ann" starting at 7: 00 am . Breakfast can be included in your stay if you do so at the time of booking . Overall , a nice place to stay while you want to look around Kobe city .FromUS$50.00

The b kobe has definitely exceeded my expectations by a lot. Just steps away from the W3 exit. There is no escalator to ground level if you are taking a train with luggages. The tip is to use the life inside tokyu hands. Save us lots of energy trying to carry out luggages up the steps. Location was a plus point as it is in Sannomiya. Lots of food places that are open till late. don quijote is just next door. Super accessible and convenient for travelers. The room size was good, bed was comfortable and toilets were specious and clean. Nothing to fault and we had a wonderful stay. FromUS$25.00

About 2 minutes on foot from Kobe Municipal Subway "Sannomiya" station, the brand "Canvas" has the feeling that "You can freely use your own color as if drawing a picture on the canvas", and the locals also travel. This hotel is superbly designed, with sophisticate, understated luxe details. Although the rooms are probably average for Japan, they're layed out efficiently, with a comfortable bed and cushioned window bench/chaise that accommodated two people. The bathrooms are small, with a combo tub/shower, although the shower water pressure is invigorating and adjustable. And of course, there are the multi-function toilets...We enjoyed the daily breakfast buffet every day with a range of asian choices, and some western choices. Service in the breakfast lounge is very courteous and helpful. The amenities in each room provide what's needed, but there is a very tastefully done amenity 'bar' in the lobby if you need to supplement what's in the room. The in-room pjs are also a nice touch -- very comfy. Finding the hotel at night is a small challenge -- it has an understated street level entry that requires taking an elevator to the lobby for check in. We checked out the onsen facilities, and wish we had the time to enjoy them. The onsen and changing rooms are clean and quiet, with fantastic rooftop views. The location is FANTASTIC. Our first time in Kobe and we can't believe how well we lucked out on all fronts with the Candeo. We will definitely stay at (and recommend) other Candeos, as this brand seems to be expanding in Japan.FromUS$50.00

Breakfast is okay, the general amount is less self-help, but clean, there is rice flavored soup. Hotel location is very good, opposite the Motomachi station, the first traffic light right turn a little bit past the road is Daimaru Department Store. Hotel parking is a problem, the hotel does not have its own parking lot, and the three-dimensional parking garage next door has a cooperative relationship, but according to the hotel's standard, stop 1500 yen a day, the first day at 7 o'clock in the evening, the third day check at eleven o'clock After out, I didn't take the car directly, but went to eat nearby and took the car to the airport. As a result, the parking fee calculated to me when I got the car was 4,200 yuan. The reason is that the two-day time is counted as 11 o'clock, and the excess is charged on time. Our 5 night stay here was exceptional. We were given a large room that faced onto a construction site but a request to move to the other side of the building was accommodated. While this meant a smaller room we were much happier with views over the Ikuta Shrine. The location is great, with easy walking access to Sannomiya train station, and other city highlights. The buffet breakfast was superb, with sooo many options and constantly replenished by attentive staff. The main man at breakfast was so good at his job and so friendly, it was a highlight of my day to see his smiling face. Seems to be a hotel used by tour groups, as one time we had to wait to enter breakfast due to a large influx of people. As others have mentioned, the rooms are small and there is not much space for hanging or storing clothes but we managed fine. Daily servicing of rooms was appreciated and we always felt comfortable and looked after. Thank you for our stay.FromUS$44.00

The luxurious room has better details than the ordinary room. There is an extra clothes hook on the wall. The outside of the room is facing the best view of Chinatown, and it is the highest floor. It is very close to JR Motomachi Station. Go straight to the left of the hotel and go to Motomachi Station. It is only a few minutes walk (unfortunately, I did n’t recognize the road when I first arrived, I walked around Nanjing Town and watched the scenery); humidifier I also prepared a small kettle for receiving water. This is by far the first one to see such intimate details; although there are not many types of breakfast, the croissants are delicious, and the Chinese porridge is also very suitable for the Chinese stomach; beside the first floor of the hotel It is the convenience store for the whole family. There is also 711 nearby. Go out on the first floor and walk straight to the right. It is very close to Kobe Port Tower, American Park, and the Mosaic Ferris Wheel. I had the best time here. The guesthouse is just a short walk from Motomachi station (around 5 min). It's situated near Nankinmachi, basically the China Town of Kobe. Most of the attractions in Kobe are within walking distance of the Guesthouse. The staff are the best, they are really interactive and I got the pleasure of going to a bar with them. We had the best of times. Furthermore the place is pretty new, which maybe explains why there are not a lot of reviews yet. All of the facilities are spot on and clean. 10/10 would recommend to anyone!FromUS$28.00

I was able to stay at a great deal with the GoTo Travel Campaign! Speaking of Kobe, this hotel came to my mind first, but I was sure to choose it! The room was open with a deck, and the breakfast was delicious with a buffet. I wish I had a latte or cappuccino.
There was a shuttle bus for guests every 20 minutes to Sannomiya station, so there was no inconvenience.
I haven't stayed in Kobe for a long time, but it was a wonderful and memorable stay! Thank you 😊

Located at the port of Kobe this Hotel is at a location with great view to the port. On foot easy to reach the Mosaic at the port with many restaurants and bars, but also only 15 minutes walk to Sannomiya the city center of Kobe. I also like this Hotel because the rooms are really spacious and not like typical Japanese business hotels. As part of their health club they also have a 25m standard indoor swimming pool, sauna and hot Japanese bath, outdoor pool, tennis court, etc.. The breakfast is rich and has western and Japanese food to offer. The Japanese restaurants both are excellent and provide good service, but unfortunately close quite early, so late night dinner not possible. Most of the staff speak good English. A little disadvantage is that you cannot earn points on their loyalty program when booked through an agent. All in all a very good hotel and worth the money.

The location is not far from the station. It is located in the quiet old town and calms down. There is no problem with cleanliness. Security is also solid. The staff is extremely disappointing. First of all, I have a business at the front desk and even if I call from the extension, I don't even get out. What do you do in an emergency? Not limited to that, the reception is very poor, which I can't think of as a Japanese hotel. Amakudari destination for civil servants? is it. It doesn't seem to be educated as a hotel man at all, and it's terrible.

Rocco Island
This was not the best of the hotels I stayed at in Japan on this trip. First, the positives. Check in staff were pleasant. The room and bathroom were both large for Japan. I had a corner room with dual aspect windows, which was nice. The breakfast views from the 18th floor were lovely. The hotel is extremely close to the station, and the walk between the two is through a mall, with a Family Mart convenience store and a 100 yen shop. The bathroom shower had great water pressure However, the room reeked of stale cigarette smoke, made worse by moving the curtains. The fridge was turned off when I arrived and this wasn’t mentioned, meaning the iced coffee I bought for the morning of the first day ended up being thrown away. I booked a double room and got twin single beds, which wasn’t ideal as I’m tall and my feet hung over the edge. The air conditioning unit was old and not great. Rokkō Island is an absolute ghost town. The river walk at sunset was pretty but there’s very little going on out there and I would rather have been closer to the action. The much-touted ‘bayside view’ is mostly port... best at night. Unfortunately this hotel is just like Rokkō Island in general: built with hope and promise but a faded version of what might have been.

My husband and I loved everything about this hotel. It was one of the most beautiful hotels that we have ever stayed in. Perfect in every way. We spent three nights in a deluxe harbour view king room. The room itself was very spacious, beautifully decorated, clean and had a wonderful view of the harbour. To top things off it had a nespresso machine and a complimentary mini bar that was refilled every day. The public spaces were very atmospheric and conveyed a past era perfectly. We loved the bar with its amazing views. Although not on the menu the bartender made me a perfect negroni ( OK more than one). One evening we ate in the restaurant and found the food to be delicious. The service at the front desk, in the bar and in the restaurant was impeccable. The room attendants did an excellent job. We thought that our room, the bar and the restaurant all represented excellent value for money. Neither my husband nor I could find a single fault with the Oriental Hotel. Even better, the Oriental Hotel's location in Kobe cannot be beat. I am so pleased that we discovered this very special hotel. Highly recommended!!
