The last night I booked in Kenya was going for French food. The environment is very good. In the embassy area, enter the security check. The hotel in 193 years is impeccable except for the old equipment.

Town Lodge is well managed with friendly, helpful staff. It adjoins the higher-end Fairview Hotel, and guests may avail themselves of the Fairview's pool and restaurants. Foreign travelers like Town Lodge's security--which may seem excessive; to enter, your luggage is x-rayed and you go through an airline-like scanning gate. AND you see armed guards upon your drive to the entrance. It turns out that the Israeli Embassy is next-door, which accounts for the heightened security. Be aware that the main building of Town Lodge does NOT have an lift/elevator, and rooms are not air-conditioned! Beds are hard and comforts are few. The desk chair is the most uncomfortable I've ever experienced. But the shower is roomy with amply hot water and pressure. A bountiful breakfast buffet is included on an arcade overlooking the lobby during the week... and on weekends next-door at one of the Fairview restaurants. Town Lodge is very well-priced for Nairobi, but if you can afford it, I highly recommend you upgrade to the Fairview!

The reviews written about Kivi Milimani previously are no longer so accurate. My visit this week to the hotel noted significant changes for the better. The hotel is undergoing an upgrade in service provision. Still very reasonable rates! WiFi has been boosted and now has a strong, speedy, signal. The food has improved as well and whilst not haute d’ cuisine it is well prepared and tasty. Menu prices are extremely reasonable. The hotels location is great for getting around Nairobi and is in a secure neighbourhood of Nairobi where I feel perfectly safe walking to nearby shops and pubs. Normal, common sense precautions apply of course. The swimming pool is another plus and the hotel gardens are green and leafy. Amazing to know your located in the centre of the city. Staff are very friendly and the hotel manager is extremely helpful and attentive. Great atmosphere in the bar area with locals and guests creating a convivial social atmosphere. I’m told more positive changes are coming soon so It’s only going to get better moving forward. Definitely a good 3-4 star establishments in a great location. Highly recommended for sure.....!

The hair dryer in the room was bad, but I didn't need to change it because I didn't need it. No air conditioning, the waiter asked for an electric fan and mosquito coils, basically can get mosquitoes. Breakfast is still very nice, after all, the Chinese opened. The hotel can't change the US dollar. The surrounding area is really desolate. If you want to buy something, you must take a taxi. .

Pros: The hotel seems to be recently updated, so the interior is bright and clean. The food is, at times, tasty. (But it's really hit or miss -- except when it comes to the sauteed potatoes which were reliably delicious.) The staff is friendly enough and somewhat helpful (but this is also hit or miss). They were kind enough to help me book my train ticket. Cons: While central, the location is not great. I only stepped outside at night once to go a few meters for a couple of minutes and got propositioned by two prostitutes. It's that sort of neighborhood. My shower was broken, so every morning I had to shower in a different room. The walls are paper-thin. When my neighbors had very enthusiastic sex (to put it mildly) at 3 AM and again at 6 AM, it sounded as if they were in my bed with me. That's how ineffective the walls are at dulling the sound. I also had to cope with a hyperactive child running up and down the corridor with squeaky shoes for several hours at night. When I went to reception the next morning to explain why I got no sleep, I was certain they'd at least offer me a complimentary coffee or breakfast; but all I got was an apology and feigned sympathy. During my stay at Delfirm there was endless hammering and drilling. It was more muffled on the upper floors, however, there’s a tradeoff between silence and having a WiFi signal. Despite all my issues, I decided to stay several extra days because I didn't realize there were cheaper and much better accommodations available in much safer neighborhoods. In fact, I'm writing this from one such hotel in the Westlands neighborhood. So, I would advise anyone considering this hotel to reconsider or search a little more before settling for Delfirm.

Stayed for two months in Amani Gardens. I was given a fair deal in room price for this long period of stay. My room was comfortable and had a lovely view for the beautiful garden. Comfortable bed, hot shower. Breakfast was abundant and had many choices to suit everybody. My dietary needs were taken care of. Staff is friendly and they take good care of their visitors. They have a taxi service to pick you up or take you to/from the airport even in the middle of the night. I was picked up, dropped at the guest house and escorted (and luggage carried) to my room at midnight. It was lovely to wake up in the morning, open the balcony doors and step into the lovely garden, sunshine and birdsong. If you appreciate nature at the heart of a city, wholesome food, children playing in the garden , Amani is good for you. Shopping centres are in walking distance and Uber taxis did a good and cheap service all over the city. Email or call the front desk for a good rate as the booking sites don't show all the options Amani can offer you.

I've stayed at a few Nairobi hotels over the years as I visit for work and Magna has to be one of my favourites. You get a lot more for a lot less money than you'd pay elsewhere in the city. The rooms are huge (I think it rivals my 1 bedroom apartment) and tastefully decorated with hardwood floors and traditionally inspired rugs. The king size bed is very comfortable, and there's also a sectional sofa and large desk area in each room. The bathroom is spacious and modern, with both a tub and rainwater head shower. Pro tip - ask for a room with a balcony! A decent breakfast is included - there's a range of hot dishes, cereal, yogurt, cheese and fruit, and the chef will customize eggs for you. It's also right across from Village Market mall which has a number of restaurants (both sit down and food court) in case you want to mix things up. However, what really sets Magna apart is the service, the staff here are incredible. Warm, welcoming, and attentive, staff often went out of their way to ensure that we were comfortable (without us even asking). Recommended.

The guesthouse is located 200 metres from waiyaki highway. The environment is friendly and cool and clean. The WI FI is super fast and staff friendly and helpful. If you're a tea person kindly do their kenyan mixed tea. Rooms clean and well maintained. Being an organisation with Christian foundation there is peaceful quietness for they just play piped gospel music and no loud music thus after a long day it is the best place to retire to bed.

I highly recommended this hotel for their excellent services to the guests. Me stayed here for one night but I had a very late flight the next day night, so I asked a later checkout and need the front desk called me a uber to get to the airport on time. However I don't have enough shillings to pay for Uber, they even helped me communicated with the driver accepting my dollar and give me change in shillings. The staffs were so kind that I still remember their smile till now.

Every time I come back to Nairobi for the last 5 years I come to Bidwoods. It feels like home. There is no better hotel in price, cleanliness and (non robotic) friendliness :-). Aly the manager and his team Collins, Joseph, Michael, Esther, Valentina, Eric and the rest of the staff and restuarant are relaxed, effcient and very natural in the friendliness. They also have a Spa in the top floor with the best views while they sooth or improve your body and looks after coming back from safari! Sarit and Westgate Centres close by. Sarit Centre 5 min walk.Swimming pool I have not tried yet. The food at the restaurant with terrace or through room service is well done and nicely presented. The suites make honour to the hotel´s name. Spectacular. come back without hesitation. Cheers and keep it up. ;-) The only thing I dislike is not being able to come more often to Kenya and visit your parks and nature conservancies and Nairobi so that I can also stay a bit longer at Bidwoods.

The hotel's security is really in place. It has to go through two security checks. In fact, I generally feel that Nairobi's security is also good. The hotel is in the city center, there are many shops, and it is very close to KFC. There is also a supermarket nearby. I bought coffee and tea, which is much cheaper than the attractions and the quality is better. It's also close to the University of Nairobi and the Kenya Museum, just 10 minutes walk. The breakfast at the hotel is also very good, just because the breakfast here is good and the service is good, I also set the name when I was in Dubai, I do n’t know if it is a global chain.

Breakfast was very small and nothing to eat. Children under the age of four can add a crib, but it is no longer suitable for my child and can't sleep. Hotel service attitude is average. When checking in, the credit card amount was frozen in the card, and it was told for a long time that it could not be returned when processing. You can only try to swipe the consumption amount again to see if the frozen amount can be refunded automatically. We haven't received the notification of successful return. In short, I should not stay again in the future!

Its not a fancy hotel, it's basic, but homely and welcoming. It's value for money and a stones throw to UNON, where I work whilst in Nairobi. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is surrounded by basic amenities such as gym, salon, eateries, fresh fruit and vegetable store and a small grocery store. What more do you want? This is my 3rd return! Wish the staff and the guests can be less noisy. Sometimes it's very disturbing. This needs to be addressed by the management.

The sliding door of the bathroom was too dangerous. I was taking a bath. I closed the bathroom door. The glass of the entire bathroom door broke and I was injured everywhere. First: they actually have a very clean pool. 9 out of 10 pools around the equator are not that perfectly clean. +++ they have a whole lot of stuff to offer in that complex: good Chinese Restaurant, a gym (I mean a real gym), dancing classes, Sauna (did not go though), souvenir shop, washing machine, and they even cleaned the dishes, wow. TV and WiFi is working. Two shopping malls close by. Last but not least: the staff is great!

There is no doubt that the Acacia Tree is great value: it's secure, well-appointed and very cheap with friendly, helpful, and kind staff. The location is quite close to the Southern Bypass but maybe not quite as close as the hotel suggests. The open plan, semi-open air lounge/dining area has plenty of comfortable seating and there are plenty of excellent coffee table books around to while away the hours. The garden is lovely and the whole effect is relaxing and tropical. It looks and feels like a hotel three times the cost. The bathroom is generally good and there is endless hot water from a powerful shower. However, there are a few minor issues that I feel could be fixed. The beds are short - seriously short - and it is rare for me to wake up to find half my legs sticking out at the end. I found the bedroom to be quite cold yet even then there were several mosquitos in the room. There was spray available but no mosquito net (nor any hooks to attach one). I found the pillows odd: two massive ones (great for reading but not for sleeping) and two smaller ones that just weren't big enough. They seem to be there for show without testing whether they were comfortable or not. (See all the photos of rooms) The bathroom towels are thin and rough and seemed to be totally out of place in this kind of place; these are a real disappointment. Although I was on my own, couples may not appreciate having a bedside reading light only on one side of the bed. The room had a fan (no A/C but probably not needed) and although I was cold I was keen to have the fan on as mosquitos don't like the air movement. However, even the lowest setting was way too powerful. :| The food at the restaurant was excellent (both varied and well-prepared) but vegetarians should note there is a completely separate vegetarian menu that is usually not handed out. We found out about the vegetarian menu only on the second night! They don't serve alcohol but staff will kindly buy beers and wine from a local shop (cash needed in advance - you can't charge the room). This worked fine. Breakfast is excellent. All in all an excellent place to stay (even longer-term) if you want to be on the southern side of the city in Karen, and extremely good value for money (even with the minor issues mentioned). Definitely recommended.

Fair Acres is a beautiful little gem of a B&B right off Langata Road in Karen. Very close to the Watermark & Waterfront Business Parks, Karen Hospital and the baby Giraffe Center. I stayed at Fair Acres in their posh studio apartment for nearly 1 month from Oct. to Nov. 2019. Sparkling clean and modern. The staff is professional and friendly and there to accommodate your every need. Run like a family B&B, you quickly become familiar with the staff and hosts who speak multiple languages. The Chef is there to discuss your breakfast and your dinner options with you to ensure it is to your liking. He cooks both Kenyan and Western cuisine and your food can be served both in the beautiful garden terrace or in your room depending on your preference. I planned a couple of work related functions at Fair Acres and they treated my colleagues like family - everyone gave high marks to the food, location and staff. Security is on par with any private residence in Kenya - high stone walls and a 24/7 guards on duty. I took walks on the weekend through the neighborhood and felt very safe. As of November 2019 there was quite a bit of construction around that creates a lot of noise - but that's Nairobi. It's important to remember that this is a guest house and not a hotel so expectations should be calibrated with the offerings of a typical B&B would offer. Would love if they could have a treadmill and small gym. Has mosquito net with bed, fast WiFi, hot water, pristine linens and towels.

I stayed for one night after arriving from the UK on the BA flight with my son and my niece. We had booked 3 standard single rooms. I was upgraded to a superior room on arrival. The staff were very welcoming and helpful which was especially good after the long flight. The rooms were clean, comfortable and well equipped. The showers were hot and worked well and the inclusive buffet breakfast was extensive - fruit, yogurt, fruit juice, cereals, eggs, sausage, beans, toast, etc. I would definitely stay here again. The only challenge we had was that 2 of the rooms were in the eaves of the property which meant you needed to duck to avoid hitting your head!

Personally feels pretty good, although the hotel is a bit old, but still very clean, each room is in the form of a suite, a bedroom and a small living room, a comfortable sofa and a small dining table for eating, the layout is reasonable, and more Satisfied is that you can have an extra bed, and it is free, and the price is very high. The family with big children will sleep more comfortably.
