Ona Aldea del Mar is #1 for many reasons. The spacious apartments (we had the two bedroom apartments for the four of us) contained all the amenities we could ask for - washing machine, iron, huge fridge/freezer, toaster etc. The TV had all the standard UK freeview channels. It was cleaned daily and towels and bedding replaced when we needed new ones. The pool was big enough for our kids to enjoy for hours everyday and never was there not enough sun loungers. There was a nice mix of nationalities (Irish, Swedish, Spanish, French, British)around the pool so it had a relaxed and happy atmosphere - it was almost exclusively families. The staff at reception were kind and friendly, as were the maids and pool staff when we encountered them. Bravo Ona Aldea del Mar - certainly the best self catering apartments we have stayed in.

Myself and my husband have just returned 9th October from our 4th holiday since 2017 in Apartmentos Fresno. We would highly recommend this place again. Sylvia Sonia and Marianella at 24 hour reception are so welcoming and professional. Apartment as on previous visits spotlessly clean everything supplied sheets and towels changed regularly great Wifi and English tv channels if required. We stayed for a month and had no problems at all. It is so close to Playa del Cura beach only 2 minutes walk away. We have already booked to stay another month next year

Stayed here many times and I have never been disappointed. Staff are so helpful, rooms have that fresh clean feel to them. Some people might find them basic, but everything is close by if required, transport, restaurants, beaches. Cafe part serves great drinks, light snacks, but it's also good to explore for eating places

I wasn't staying at the hotel, just dining with some friends who were and they actually love it here.Sure the hotel is fine but I wouldn't recommend the restaurant AT ALL! We waited over half an hour for the restaurant to open, we then waited 45 minutes to make an order and a further 45 minutes for any starters to arrive. The restaurant wasn't exactly busy and when food did start arriving some of the tables actually cheered. I am a Coeliac and have to be very careful that I don't eat any gluten. Mostly it's very easy, I know what I can and can't have, I just need to know that they haven't added anything that's not on the menu.I asked about it several times when ordering and made it very clear that I was GF. After waiting for my starter for an hour and a half I asked the waiter if it was definitely gluten free. 'Oh yes' he said and whisked it away. 10 minutes later, still nothing. I went to speak to a lady I was told was very helpful and could speak good English. She was rude and asked me if I didn't know what I could eat and why didn't I just have salad! At that point I decided to leave and my friend cam with me. They argued and got stroppy trying to make her pay for the salad she'd had from the salad bar. When she said their service was appalling the lady said 'it's not just you, everyone is waiting a long time for their food!' That's ok then!!!

We Booked for 9 of us for 2 weeks during all the Covid madness, Hotel was set up for this with plenty of sanitiser stations and split meal times for the different floors of the hotel, plenty of social distancing makers on floors in key areas so everyone felt safe at all times. rooms where a brilliant size and extremely clean with ice cold aircon and brilliant view of the sea and pool from balcony, we where on the 2nd floor and even if the kids went to bed early they were not bothered by the noise from entertainment if it was still going on. Food was good with a varied selection and everyone found something they enjoyed each day. Reception staff had no problems calling us a taxi when we went out to the water park or Friday market l. The kids loved the mini disco and aqua aerobics in the pool and the entertainments girl was great, getting the kids involved in activities Bar staff where really friendly and provided a great service even when bombarded with the kids for different ice creams ( choice was awesome), massive amount of choice for drinks for everyone’s taste. Pool was great and we spent most of our days on it to cool off of the kids playing in the Kiddie pool area and slide and again another great memeber if staff with the pool lifeguard she was good with the kids and keeping everything safe and sanitised around the pool . And even in the early evening when the shadow of the hotel covered the pool to give you a welcome relief from the heat it was still great to be able to swim/play in the pool We’ve had a brilliant 2 weeks in the sun with a lot of fun

Just home from a 2 week holiday here. It’s bed and continental breakfast they serve. Small bar where you can also get ice lollies and bottled water. There’s a small fridge in the room but remember that it won’t be on when you go out so e.g milk wont last, (I took a wee kettle n cups with me). Rooms cleaned and towels replaced on a daily basis. Hotel is immaculate. There’s a lift for the six floors. Barbara at reception is so helpful. Reception gives you free photocopies and phone taxis for you. There are a few tables out the front of the hotel if you want to eat breakfast or drink there. The swimming pool is across the road in at the top left hand side of the car park. You use your room card at the car park machine to get into the car park. It’s a lovely pool and there are plenty of seats/sun beds. There’s also an area next to the pool to sit and relax. There are 3 small supermarkets close to the hotel. The closest is when you come out the hotel and turn left, continue walking a block or so and cross at the Santander bank which is on your right. The shop is along past the side of Santander on the right hand side. You can’t beat Minos for very reasonable food and drinks. You enter by the door where there’s tables outside. You can get an hourly bus to and from Alicante airport to Torrevieja. It is a direct bus, takes 50 mins and cost 7€ a person. When you go right from the hotel, at the bottom of the road turn left. Heading down that road takes you along the front where there are stalls, bars and restaurants. Near the “wall of water” there’s a restaurant that serves 3 course meals (great variety of dishes) for €7.90. Plenty of kids play areas, especially from the right of the hotel head straight up to the top of the road and you will see a “dinosaur” in the right, that’s the kids chute in that park. It’s a lovely park with geese, swans etc, overall a great holiday 👍

WHAT IS A SPA? “Sanus Per Aquam” – Health by or through water. The definition includes the following words:- Improving health, beauty and relaxation, personal care, treatments, massage, medicinal baths, hot springs, luxury, health benefits, water treatment, holistic, wellness, de-stress, enjoy, pampering, escape, balneotherapy, mineral, vapour, cure, ritual, purification, healing, purifying, shower, fountain, heat, hot thermal, relieve suffering, sweating, resting, bathing, restore health, hydrotherapy, care, opulent, soaking, medical benefits, circulating, therapy, natural, tumbling waters, aromatherapy, footbath, jet hydro massage, swan neck, sauna, steam bath, Hamman, devoted to overall wellbeing, renewal of mind body and spirit, healthy, tranquil, peace, calm, quiet, bubbles, aroma, essential oils, candles, harmony ………… It does NOT include - Noisy screaming children ……… not anywhere, at any time …….. Shocked to discover, when entering the Spa, that a couple with a child aged about 4 was also “using” the Spa. Totally ruined my experience, he screamed and shouted, was not supervised by his parents, kept opening the door to the steam room and letting out all the heat, banging other doors, then the worst part, decided to push past me whilst I was trying to relax in the pool and kicked me in the leg – nice bruise formed later ………. When will the management of this Hotel get a grip? I have been staying here regularly since it opened. I have repeatedly complained about this, but yesterday was the final straw, will never stay again. A Spa is for adults only, it is not a childrens play area. If they want to offer children a pool in the winter, they should heat the outside pool, not inflict the noise and disruption on people who have paid money to try and relax.
