We spent a week in Hamburg staying at the Sir Nikolai Hotel. From the first minute, the staff was extremely friendly, super helpful, and kind. The room was beautiful, and we were lucky enough to have a direct look at the river flowing next to the hotel. The breakfast is delicious. I can't only say I suggest this hotel for anyone who is visiting Hamburg, but I would even say it's a must to stay with them if you are in the city.

It’s a beautiful property but quickly turning bad. And I know what I’m talking about. I have organised interNational conventions in 5-stars properties all over the world for 21 years and have been a travel guide inspector for a decade. So the hotel is a great building, good parking, nice front desk etc. Beautiful. But they try to save money by turning one lift off out of three. This has consequences : waiting time of 10, 20, 25 hours for a lift on peak hours. It took us 30 minutes to get to breakfast. Another saving point : the air conditioning is off too. We contacted the front desk to complain as the room was very very warm (and the windows fond open except a little flap) and they made a strange excuse that they « controlled climate » room to room and came and brought us a…. Fan ! 🤷🏼‍♂️ Also their restraurant, which was so nice, is now…. Closed !!! Food only at the the bar or room service. Breakfast is very nice (30€ but worth it) and they say you can also have it in the room. But no, it’s then « à la carte » and when you add coffee, bread, cheese and eggs, it’s like 60€ per person !!! I wouldn’t mind paying 5€ or 8€ extra but not TWICE the price from the buffet breakfast ! C’mon ! Then this evening, after returning from a wonderful 2* Michelin meal in the city, we came back to the hotel and wanted to have a few last cocktails at the bar. My handicap of the hips and knees makes it difficult for me to walk, but extremely painful to stand waiting. When arriving at the bar there was a huge group of people waiting in front of the lifts, blocking the corridor to the bar reception. As we saw ten empty tables on the left, we entered the bar and I sent my friend to ask the bar reception if it was ok we’d sit there. I waited sitting at one of the tables. While my friend was waiting the crowd to disappear on the lifts to get to the bar “reception” and ask for a table, other people came in the same way and sat at different available tables. A nice waiter came to me and I ordered two cocktails. Then another person came, apparently the bar « boss » who didn’t say “good evening” or anything and just shouted to me « do you have a reservation ». I replied « no I’m sorry but I am handicapped and I could not wait that long in the line ». Then he said « you have to go, this table is reserved for 6 » and he went away. Nothing on those tables mentionned « reserved ». They were just empty tables. We could have stayed for a drink and then vacated. Nothing was said to the other 6 people who sat at the surrounding tables. Only to us. He DID NOT apologize He DID NOT offer us another place to sit. He DID NOT take my handicap into account. He acted like a ###H###. It was horrible, sad and unacceptable. We just went back to our room whilst all the people who sat at the other tables got served. It’s very bad behaviour from service in a 5 stars hotel. Of course we sat there without being placed but there are other days to treat guests.

The AMERON hotel right in the middle of the Hafencity is a nice hotel, except perhaps that public transport is limited to just one bus line (at least the Bus Stop is right in front of the Hotel). The room on the 5th floor was great, everything was okay - until my friend from Canada dropped her COVID face mask just outside the hotel into the dirt and politely asked for a new one at the reception. They gave her one - and charged € 2,00 for it. Of course, the hotel is at liberty in doing that. But two remarks: (1) the purchase value of a COVID face mask is probably 20 cents. So charging € 2 is a bit hefty. (2) more importantly, a paying guest that spends a couple of hundred Euros at this hotel - is it REALLY necessary to charge them 2 Euros for a Covid Mask? Or is the receptionist / management particularly smart doing so? Don´t think so. Turns out that this move costs them two stars in this evaluation.

The Motel One Hamburg-Fleetinsel was recently opened in 2020, making it a fantastic choice for those staying in Hamburg. Traveling to the hotel is easy with Hamburg Dammtor Station located approximately 2km away and Hamburg Airport roughly 12km away. Transportation around the city is also convenient, with Baumwall Metro Station within walking distance. Keeping busy is easy, with Denkmal Kaiser Karl der Grosse, Moorwerder Leuchtturm and Weinmuseum all nearby. This hotel makes a great place to kick back and relax after a long day of sightseeing. Guests of this Hamburg hotel can make use of the parking facilities. There's never a dull moment at this hotel, our guests indicate that the facilities are excellent.

My wife and I were unfortunate enough to contact Covid while on holidays recently in Hamburg. We were not looking forward to quarantining in our room for 7 days but the reception manager Robert ably assisted by Celina and Laura saved the day. Robert researched the local requirements, he organised shopping for us to our room. He arranged pick up of essential medicines and even bought supplies on his way home that he could not get near the Hotel. NOW THATS exceptional service. Celina and Laura kept in touch and ensured housekeeping kept us topped up with water , coffee and fresh towels each day. The 7 days were not that bad and the time passed agreeably. OH ! yeah the Hotel itself is very comfortable and well appointed . We will be back again when Covid is not so relevant in all our lives.

We recently spent a week in this hotel whilst visiting family. We have stayed in Premier Inns in the UK before and found them to be fairly basic but adequate for a short stay but this Premier Inn is in a different class. It is only 3 years old, one of which it was largely unused due to the pandemic, and as such, it is very clean and new. There is a very comfortable bar/lounge adjacent to reception where a relaxing drink or coffee can be had at reasonable prices. We opted for the buffet breakfast which had everything you could want (cereals, fresh fruit, cheese, cooked meats, scrambled or boiled eggs, bacon, sausage, beans, breads, toast, pastries etc). We found the breakfast room a little crowded during the weekend but much quieter on weekdays. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the rooms are kept spotlessly clean. Only suggestions for improvement are largely down to the design of the rooms which we know are standard across this chain but we thought that for stays of longer than 2-3 nights more hanging space and some drawer space would be helpful. Also a hook in the bathroom for the hand towel would be good. Finally, there are some tables and chairs outside the breakfast room and, on a nice day, we thought it would be nice to sit there in the afternoon/early evening with a cold drink. However the chairs are chained up making this impossible. I assume this is for security reasons, which I understand, but I think the hotel may lose business during the summer as it is a nice spot. The location of this hotel is great - right next to Meßburg u-Bahn station for easy access to the airport and other places and easy walking distance in one direction to the Rathaus, Alster and main shopping area and in the other direction to Hafen City, Minatur Wunderland etc. There are plenty of bars, restaurants etc within a short distance.

This hotel should not have decided to reopen partially during its renovation. Wait to book until they are able to offer an experience worthy of the Steigenberger name. Although the staff are wonderful and do their best to overcome the constrained conditions of a partial reopening, and the renovated rooms are respectable though with some major flaws, this together cannot make up for the lack of a proper lobby, business center, restaurant, housekeeping service, or anything else expected in a premium hotel experience. A grim "lobby" with no meaningful space to congregate or sit (or even a WC), a "restaurant" (basically an uncomfortable conference room) with limited opening hours, and no other amenities of any sort in the hotel - this is not Steigenberger. The staff are all well-trained and courteous. The renovated rooms are mostly well-designed, with some typical European oversights (such as underpowered shower faucets that oddly become dangerously hot - burning to the touch - without emitting water of remotely warm enough temperature or sufficient pressure). But the lack of a premium experience is crippling. No real lobby (just an ugly reception area with three chairs and no WC), no place for people to congregate outside of their rooms (just a bland, uncomfortable "restaurant" - essentially a conference room - with limited opening hours), no business center, no fitness center, and of course all of the scaffolding, noise, and disruption that comes with a large hotel undergoing complete renovation. Just wait to book until after the renovation is complete and the full hotel is able to offer its full experience (apparently forecast for autumn 2022).

Apartment hotel, there is a washing machine, microwave, oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, kitchenware and tableware are also available, the hygiene conditions are almost four, the hardware is OK except that there is no twin room. The location is very good, 15 minutes walk from the Hamburg Railway Station, and very close to the Yibeihe Concert Hall, the miniaturized World Maritime Museum. It can walk all around in an hour. There is a delicious hot pot restaurant next to it. The Chinese opened it.

The studio apartments at Citadines Michel are quite small, although it is good that the bed is actually in its own seperate room. In the whole apartment is only one small window, which makes the place quite dark. Apartment located towards the Ludwig-Erhard Strasse suffers from car noise, adn apartments to the opposite side experience church bells from nearby Michaelis 4 times an hour around the clock. You simply need to close the window to be able to fall asleep. Facilities are rgreat and includes a laundrette to wash and dry your clothes. It is possible to reserve parking at 19 Euros per night, but this includes free use of two charching stations, convenient if you travel by EV. Location is great, close to Prtugese Quarter and walking distance to the rest of the city.

My second visit to this lovely hotel in the centre of Hamburg. Perfect location near shops and restaurants. I stayed in January with my daughter for 5 nights she was starting her internship in the city. Our room on the second floor was small but very comfortable, this time my partner and I got a really nice room on the 4th floor, I feel we got an upgrade, it was larger than the last time and I loved the heated toilet seat, nice and bright overlooking the canal, we had no problem checking in a really helpful lady called Florentine assisted us and was there each morning managing the breakfasts and was always cheerful and professional. Thanks Florentine 👍 The breakfasts at The Ruby Lotti are delicious the food is fresh, mostly organic and very satisfying. Try the Danish pastries with cinnamon and honey. 😋superb! Also there is a snack menu and we had the pizza with mozzarella salami and rocket see 1st picture below, tasty and reasonably priced. The bar is nice in the evenings for a cocktail or a nice quiet drink. All staff are very friendly and will make you feel at home.

Arcotel Onyx was a pleasant surprise. Very nice hotel with good sized rooms. Very comfortable beds. Great wifi with good speed. A small bar on the premises and a breakfast buffet in a nearby building about 30 steps away from the hotel as such. The hotel was very quiet and the views from my room on the 5th floor was good. I would highly recommend this place. Great value.

Breakfast in German hotels are similar, taxi to the train station about 7 euros. Although the room facilities are a bit old, they are clean and comfortable, and the front desk is warm and patient! The restaurant on the second floor is okay. The local German restaurant at the door is pretty good. Recommending his roast chicken is pretty good! Three important points: there is a kettle, there is a swimming pool, quiet!

The Hampton Hamburg City Centre was a surprisingly comfortable and cheery hotel. The staff was very friendly and the lounge in the evening offered modest dinners, a comfortable space to chat and the rooms were very clean. It was a welcome respite from a very busy city. We were able to walk to the main train station, but there was also a bus we could take. This was a well run hotel.

I don't understand how people want to purposely dump on, or do low ratings for budget hotels. You get what you pay for. I had a few quiet nights and today is Thursday. Club downstairs is hopping and loud. Am I going to complain? Nope. Because this was an affordable option near public transit *that takes me to and from the Hamburg Airport. It has a grocery store within walking distance. It has night-life as it is near the BeatlesPlatz and it's literally in the club and girlie-bar area known as the Reeperbahn and St Pauli part of town. So much is within walking distance. I was following Google directions and well, a few places were literally a stone's throw from the hotel. I used the beautiful Arcotel as a landmark, so every tike I got home to the hotel I knew where I was based on the other hotel. It is inconspicuous from street level and the club downstairs has a cow hanging. So any way to help a directionally- challenged traveler like me helps. I even got lucky after hopping off a harbour tour and walked up to the St Pauli subway station. So central, the Centro is befitting the brand. (Centro/Central) The room is spare and basic. Two single beds were smooshed together and it was fine. I slept on one side the whole stay. I didn't expect much and the basics were there. A shower, toilet and sink. The sink is tiny, so I made a watery mess when splashing my face. Never mind the weird square shape of the shower with a ledge I neglected to cover the first night, and had to sop up water and wring the floor towel. I hung to dry and it was usable the next day. Disposable plastic cup and all-in one shampoo/body wash is squeezable as needed. A basic hairdryer is plugged in. A small glass ledge holds some items. The bathroom is tiny but I don't expect luxury and space while in a budget place. The toilet works as a push and you have to press the top to stop the water. So I had to get used to it. No biggie. I am more shocked that you have to pay to use water closets here. Even at some businesses. The bed has fold down night table on each side. Good for plugging my phone. No alarm clock. Had to use my phone for the time. No fridge or desk. A narrow console acts as a desk with an ottoman as a chair. Radiator heats the room. Pigeons coo by the operable window in the morning. I coukd use a better view than a low rooftop, but I am not about to sweat it when I leave after freshening up in the mornings. I open the unscreened window to air out and freshen the space as I was getting ready. The temperatures here are higher than at home, so it has been nice enough to open for a half hour each morning during my visit. For safety, you lock the door behind you. No closet, an open high shelf has a rail and 4 hangers. The full-length mirror has 2 tiny pegs. You'll need to walk up stairs to access check in and your room if you book here. No elevator. And someone disobeys the no smoking rule, because I can notice it. I just keep repeating the mantra...you

We found this hotel when planning a trip to Hamburg and were attracted by the plush, cozy but classy English design and its location near the lake. When we arrived the style did not disappoint but the service did and the lack of English. We complained about certain issues such as the really floppy and useless pillows and front of house sent up housekeeping that didn’t speak a word of English so the problem didn’t get resolved the first night. It was rather frustrating. Used crockery was left in the room for the entire stay and shower gel nor shampoo was replaced. It’s safe to say that housekeeping worked below standard for a 4* hotel. The room looked stylishly decorated but was getting a little tired with marks on the walls, massive chips in furniture, tears in the curtains and rings on the wooden surfaces from glasses. Room 502 just needs quite some TLC to get back to that 4* standard. It’s a shame because the first impression was quite nice. We had a balcony and a view of the lake which was very cool. The bar downstairs was very classy and buzzing every evening. Shame the Campari lounge on the roof wasn’t open even though the weather was great. So we went and took our business to the bar in Le Meridien which was awesome. A missed opportunity in my opinion. That bar should have been open. Finally 29 euro per person for an hour in a sauna (they call it a spa area) is just too much, definitely when they leave out lemon water that had stood out in the sun for hours, perhaps days, and had gone off. It was horrible. An overall disappointing experience as I expected so much better. I would not go back to stay at this hotel, but the bar is definitely worth a visit and I am still curious about the Campari lounge.

Amazing for staying in Hamburg on a budget. Quality vs price is great! A bit far away from the center but the hotel is one minute from the station which takes you easy in to central station. The improvement we would like to see is an air conditioner in the room and maybe better WiFi. We still think it’s a great place and we loved it!

This is very much a budget hotel so I didn't expect too much, therefore I wasn't disappointed! My room was clean and functional with a TV and bed and not much more! This didn't really bother me as I was only staying for one night and wasn't going to be spending much time in my room! The reception staff were very pleasant, friendly and helpful. The biggest problem was the lifts! There are just two fairly small lifts serving 12 floors (I was on the 9th!) and seriously you could grow old waiting for one of them to arrive! Then when one does arrive it's already packed!!! I realise that there is nothing that can be done to correct this major flaw in the original planning but should be borne in mind when booking! Breakfast was a decent continental spread and provided the necessary fuel for the day. Overall, this is a decent place to spend the night on a budget.

Seriously, the hotel is completely worthy of such a cheap price (RMB 158 yuan) feels like no money, thanks to Ctrip to provide such a favorable price, although it is a six-person bunk (the room has a bathroom and bathroom, is separated The two small rooms separated by the bathroom guard) also have cabinets for personal items (can put down big backpacks, can't put down the suitcases). The girls who live together don't know each other but are very friendly. They are very conscious and silent. The noise from the train was not heard near the train. The hotel has two front and rear doors. It seems that there is no parking at the door, but there is a parking place not far from the doorway on the side of the train. I don't know if it is charged (look like free). The hotel is chained, not far from another one with the same name. At first, I found another by navigation. (I have to say that this address is indeed misleading. I found the wrong one by navigation.) The German guy at the front desk also showed A little German humor, tell me to book another one, about five hours away from walking (when walking five hours) what? what? What? Surprised, I almost collapsed, and then he said a bad smile: wo, no no, five minutes, the actual walk is twelve minutes. The location of the hotel is not far from the Hamburg train station, 18 minutes walk (not originally large in Hamburg). However, the surrounding area is not prosperous, there are no supermarkets and restaurants near, and there is a shop selling motorcycle supplies. The next day, I went to the train station for training. Because I got a taxi in the past, the taxi cost 8.1 euros, and the taxi was more than ten euros.

The location is very convenient, opposite the central railway station. The s1 train airport can be reached directly by about 28 minutes. The next day, the group was gathered at the Central Station. Excellent in terms of location. The room and the separate bathroom are good, the separate bathroom is slightly smaller but acceptable. The mattress is comfortable to sleep without backache. Another 6 euros for breakfast, bread, milk, jam, sausage, etc., and the juice is more satisfying. Staff service is also good. There is an elevator but it is slower. A lot of foreigners staying for a day to go shopping in Hamburg are not far from walking. There is a Chinese restaurant on the left side of the hotel but it is not eaten. On the first day of the first night, there was a small convenience store on the left side of the street but many deep skin people were found. Decisive back to the hotel. I have lived together for three times. On the return flight, the flight is also s1.3.3 European direct train (only the German is found in the train ticket purchase, so the key words are clearly asked in advance, and the purchase is successful. On the third platform, it is worth noting to go to the airport to take the first three trains) Ask international students to learn that you can download the DB navigator train ticket app.

A room with own shower and toilet, a good bed, small table, TV, all very clean. Personnel is very friendly and available. You could have a breakfast for low price, but could have a meal in room as well. Moreover, parking a car in very specious garage is available and not pricey as well. A deco sympa from the entrance, a friendly staff, and a very well-organised room with a very large bed. The hotel is a new, quiet, located in a renovated neighborhood with buildings in construction around, a ten-minute walk from Berliner Tor train station, directly with the airport's shuttle train. In May 2019 everything was new or in construction/renovation around, with fries, offices or car dealers , so no night life nearby. You need to join the city centre, either 1/2 h walk or less using public transport (which I use very little, so I can't speak on this subject). However, there are channels, the Elbe is not far, like Hafencity, and some gentleness is escaped from this area.

We decided on the 25hrs hotel in Bahrenfeld as it had good parking facilities. I'm very pleased we did. After staying in a 'not so nice' hotel for the previous two nights of our little tour of northern Germany, our room at 25 hours was lovely and clean and had a nice fresh smell. By comparison it was an oasis of down to earth luxury!!!! The S-bahn was a very short walk away and only took around 11 minutes to get to the centre of Hamburg (we did walk to the Landungsbrucken area one day as we wanted the fresh air and it was perfectly manageable, perhaps would take to long for some). There are shops and a little café very close to the hotel, so ideal if you need to get some essentials. The staff simply could not have been more helpful, from recommendations on where to go for food and drinks to extra pillows or trying to boost the poor wi-fi nothing seemed to be a problem. My only issue, and a very minor complaint was the shower curtain. Whilst very clean, it did keep attaching itself to my legs, which I hate. The shower was both hot and powerful, which perhaps didn't help the curtain staying where it should have. That minor gripe aside, we had a lovely two nights in this hotel and I would certainly make another booking if I returned to Hamburg.

I stayed for 4 nights in this basic, efficient hotel which has 6 more or less identical floors. The rooms are small and spartan, but clean. Think 1970s — wood chip walls, thin, cheap carpet on the floor, hard bed, a small bathroom with shower cubicle, with a shower head that is very hard to fix in position. The room is definitely below the standards of Travelodge let alone Premier Inn. It really needs a full renovation and modernisation (USB sockets in rooms, new lighting etc) and I believe another Novum hotel nearby has had a refurbishment, which I would have loved to see. However the hotel was not expensive, well situated in terms of transport links, WiFi was easy to connect to, and the staff I spoke with were generally very good. Housekeeping came every day and changed towels etc. , they were good and polite. I did complain as hotels.com said the rooms had blackout blinds, and as you can see from the pictures, this was not true. I got nowhere. I was shown a couple of other rooms but they are all pretty much the same, one was a little better in terms of floor space but would have cost me €15 extra per night. The area is a red light district at night, the transport is great but being bang next to the train station generally isn’t the best part of any city. So there is some noise of sirens, people randomly yelling etc. But the double glazed windows can be fully closed (as well as opened). I never had breakfast at the hotel, at €8.90 few people were and the place looked completely soulless. It’s an efficient, basic hotel if all you want to do is sleep there for a night or two, but I would not recommend it for a longer stay. if you like to spend time in the room and look at nice surroundings and enjoy hotel facilities this isn’t really the place.

Holiday Inn - City Nord is a nice modern hotel, that offers everything you would expect from a Holiday Inn. It has a underground parking garage in connection with the hotel, so that you can enter the garage directly from the hotel. I have stayed here several times and I have never had problems finding a parking lot, which of course is secured with a boom gate. And in Hamburg the lack of parking lots is a huge problem in some areas. The Fitness/Gym area could have been bigger, with more machines etc. but it is acceptable. WiFi is really good all over the hotel, from the rooms to the restaurant and it can easily handle a Teams/Zoom video call, even over a VPN connection. The restaurant servers a really nice breakfast buffet, with everything from eggs and bacon, to different breakfast cereals. The staff is very friendly and do a really good job making you feel comfortable. The evening menu is quite limited, but they do serve a nice burger with fries. However they don't serve draft beer, which is a minus in my book. The rooms are clean and spacious, but they don't offer any English TV channels, beside an international 24/7 news channel. At a international hotel chain like Holiday Inn, I would expect at least a few English/American TV channels. But the rooms has a good steam iron and iron board as standard and I found the quality of this setup to be very high. It was a pleasure to iron my shirts, without having to worry about burning a hole in them. The minibar in the rooms are empty,, but the reception do offer a range of candy and beverages to a fair price.

Clean, modern and centrally located. ***** I decided on a weekend away to visit the beautiful city of Hamburg and catch-up with a long-time friend. This hotel is centrally located - a 5 minute walk away from the main station and was perfect when arriving on a late flight. It is modern and comfortable and the staff pleasant enough. I opted for a single room and found it to be spacious, with all the amenities I’d expect and a full sized bathroom. There were free apples in reception and a free bottle of water in the room, which was a nice touch. I had a comfortable time and I don’t recognise the comments made in the negative reviews. The hotel describes itself as a “boutique” hotel and I wonder if the negative reviews are a reflection that it really isn’t a boutique. It’s clean, it’s functional, it’s modern - but I wouldn’t describe it as boutique. For example, the staff were inflexible on a late check-out (it just didn’t seem to be a possibility, even for a fee!) and some of the small touches you might expect at a “boutique” hotel just weren’t there. However, this doesn’t take away from the fact it was clean, comfortable, conveniently located and good value.

At first glance, I thought it was Novotel, and the price was also the cheapest in the vicinity. It was booked too early. After that, I found out that it was Novum, it was the cottage version of Novotel, although it could be cancelled, but booked. It is fixed, and Novum has several stores in Hamburg. A good place is to rely on the railway station, convenient transportation, high cost performance, old equipment, and health. There is a Chinese restaurant downstairs. Guangdong cuisine is delicious, although it is more expensive than Guangdong cuisine in Guangdong. Insufficient, the equipment is not ordinary, the elevator only accommodates 4 people, can not turn, the door lock or the key, go out to the front desk. Hot water can be borrowed at the front desk, half an hour each time, breakfast is a light meal, the room has a smell, do not understand the score is so high.

Handily located for my office I enjoyed my stay at Barcelo Hamburg in a premier room. There was plenty of space, the room was clean and the staff friendly. I had room service one night and the food was good but quite pricey. Only criticisms and they are all minor WiFi dropped out on video calls frequently Thin bed cover so was a bit cold at night Only News channels in English - but depressing only having news to watch - about 700 channels in other languages TV came on at quite a loud volume every time - just concerned it would annoy others and had to be quick to turn it down

The hotel is tasteful and coherently furnished. The rooms are spacious and still despite the proximity to a very driven street. The staff are friendly and well-deserved. Breakfast is rich. A parking area is available at the house and free. We were very satisfied. Nearby a forest and parking area is invited to walk. The bus is convenient to get to the city.
