I spent a week in NYC for a change of scenery and wanted a comfortable place with space to work. Sonder delivered. The apartment is fully furnished, even including a dishwasher and washer dryer, two things often unheard of in a New York apartment. The location is perfect, convenient to just about everything including multiple Subway lines and walkable to Wall Street, Battery Park, World Trade Center and more. Also part of apartment living—some noise from neighbors including music and barking dogs. The non smoking policy was loosely enforced, this may have been due to the snowstorm. A request to enforce this was responded to quickly. Although there is a person at the front desk, no doorman type services like package handling are available.

We stayed at the Courtyard Hotel on Greenwich Street on Friday night. Marriott hotels are held to a high standard. This hotel had its pros and cons. Pros: - Price. The hotel is reasonably priced for Manhattan. Our Friday night stay was about $220 before taxes and $260 afterwards. - Location. The hotel is literally steps from the World Trade Center and World Financial Center complex. - Transportation- The #1 Train (Rector Street Station) is at the front door. The R train stop (Rector Street) is one block away. - Cleanliness - The room and bathroom were clean and well maintained. Cons: - Space. The rooms are tiny. The bathroom was about 5x7 feet. The closet is tiny. There is one chair. - Noise. New York used to be called The City That Never Sleeps. We heard street noise, even though we were on the 18th floor.

It is the first time that we find a hotel room where the TV is bigger than the closet. Perhaps the hotel's policy is to set up the rooms differently depending on the season: large TV and small wardrobe during the warm season and small TV and large wardrobe during the winter season? Amazing! Considering that the space in the closet is only 23 inches (60cm) the suitcases cannot be emptied and must find a place around the bed in order to be opened. The positive consequence is that moving around the room helps to learn the Sirtaki dance steps: 4 steps on the side and two steps forward. The size of the bathroom is inconsistent with that of the room. The bathroom, in fact, is surprisingly large. The drains, on the other hand, are consistent with the narrowness of the room, in fact as soon as we arrived in the room we found the drains clogged (promptly purged by the hotel's ”specialist technician”). The air conditioning, turned on by default, reminds us of a subway station: the same movement of air and above all the same noise when the subway cars arrive. The same ”specialised technician” then intervened to activate the futuristic air conditioning control unit where, by going through labyrinthine menus, submenus and sub-submenus, in the end he was able to access the on/off disclaimer. Unfortunately the instruction manual for this control unit is not available in the room consequently we have replaced that bizarre electronic panel with that archaic tool called ”window” where with a marvelous handle one is able to change the air in the room. The operation of this tool is friendly enough that it does not need an instruction manual. The room is also equipped with a large screen through which at night you can watch the silhouette puppet show. The screen is the dividing wall between the bedroom and the bathroom built in opaque glass. It is enough to go to the bathroom and turn on the light, whoever is on the bed can enjoy the exhibition, free of charge. The restaurant is quite good and the prices are ok.

A daily charge of 20 or 25 knives will be charged, which can then be used to order meals. No order or refund will be given, which is equivalent to compulsory consumption. Overall, the location is good, the subway station is close, and taxis are very convenient.

Had already stayed 3 nights in another room in the same hotel and wanted to stay another night, but couldn't stay in the same room cause it had been booked. This time didn't get the same view, but it wasn't bad all all. The bell man downstairs hold our luggage while we waited to checked in. Will recommend this hotel to anyone that wants to come and visit New York City.

I was asked to provide a credit card when we arrived during check-in. The receptionist told me I had to deposit 130 $ with the hotel. As I have problems with my credit card, I offered to pay cash 130 $. The receptionist rejected it. When I asked why 130 $ money was worse than 130 $ on my credit card, he explained that actually, the hotel wanted more than 130$. When I asked why he lied to me in the first place, he didn't answer. Then I said I would like to get to my room as I had already paid for it. The answer was that I would not get the key to my room, and this was it. When I asked to speak to the manager, he told me he was the manager. Finally, when I asked for a person to whom the receptionist reports, he said he would be the following day, but he couldn't give me an exact time. As I was traveling with 10-year-old child, I gave him my problematic credit card, hoping that I would avoid problems and get a key in return. When I asked questions about the hotel, he ignored me and turned to the next guess. So I got a key, but I know nothing about the hotel, facilities etc. ”Great service”. I regret I made that choice.

Hotel location and room size exceeded my expectations. Location and surroundings: Super convenient! ! ! Just on the south side of the 911 Memorial, walking away from the World Trade Center, Wall Street Copper Bull, New York Stock Exchange, Trinity Church, Battery Park (to the Statue of Liberty) are very close, a few minutes away, very close to the subway station, go uptown The sights and the subway can be reached in half an hour. Starbucks and various restaurants are located across the street. It is also close to the World Trade Center, target, and Marshall. On the north side is the 911 Park. Our room is just facing the north side. It is very quiet. There are inner streets on the east and south sides and main roads on the west. I don't know if there will be noisy at night. The parking lot didn't pay attention to the number of parking spaces. It stopped 51 knives per day and added 10 knives overnight. The parking fee for traffic jams in New York was too expensive, so there was no car rental in this trip. The subway was very convenient. Downstairs is a small police station, parked by the police car on the side of the road, plus next to the 911 site, so the law and order is very good. Room size: I thought the hotels in New York were very small, but this hotel was beyond my expectations. It turned out to be a one-bedroom apartment. The corridor was very very very very narrow, the space was reserved for the room, a double bed, in addition to the bathroom and a small kitchen. With the dining table, there is a small room, a sofa, which can be changed into a double bed. It is not a problem for the adults to sleep four people. Room facilities: The facilities are not new or old, but they are very practical. First of all, there is enough space for the cabinets, there are plaids for items, and there are also shoes for hanging and drying clothes. Both rooms have a TV, and the charging plugs are reasonably distributed. Most satisfied with the kitchenette and dining table! The kitchen has two people's tableware, microwave, capsule coffee machine (three coffee capsules and tea will be added every day), although there is no hot water bottle in New York, but this room is more convenient with hot and cold water in the microwave oven or even instant noodles. Burger sandwiches are too much to eat, and it is very comfortable to make a face at night. There is no bottled water. There are water purifiers and water bottles on each floor. There should be some in the bathroom, and it seems that the toilet is not ventilated. Said to be a hotel, but basically the equipment of the apartment, very convenient and convenient. The general health condition is mainly due to the fact that the earthen altar is not clean and nothing else. Package: Simple and practical, there is free wifi, there is a gym, time has not gone, there is a lounge on the first floor, you can also go online and print. On the 20th floor, there is a small and beautiful top-level restaurant called view of the world. The view is directly opposite the 911 Memorial Park. The attached photo is the view of the restaurant. The per capita meal is 20-30 knives. The western restaurant with a moderate taste is worth trying. Steak, but sold out on the same day, the lamb chops taste good but slightly raw, the salmon is not good, the burger and roast pork tastes good, and the hamburger's fries are the best I have ever eaten in the past few days. Room rate does not include breakfast, you can go to the restaurant (not a bargain), or you can order a takeaway breakfast one day in advance to get back to the room to eat, breakfast is very cheap 7.95 knife, three sets, one main snack + fruit cup + juice Or coffee tea + two eggs or a small bowl of oatmeal, the price is not bad. There are no children's entertainment facilities. service: The cleaning staff in the room was good. When I checked out, I had a lot of luggage. I also took the initiative to help me. The front desk had a normal attitude, no smile, no initiative, no more talk, but it was all done. I have overcharged my facility fee of 20 knives per day. When I booked the hotel, the service charge and tax were included. So I questioned it. The answer is that the third-party reservation will charge the facility fee. I was too lazy to theory at the time and directly complained to Ctrip. This fee was later returned to me by Ctrip. Here I would like to give Ctrip's service staff a compliment. However, there was no explanation at the time of the booking. It was very pitted and it was firmly considered that it was an unreasonable charge, so the complaint was taken back. When you go out to the store, you must pay attention to the checkout bill, because the credit card has been authorized, not the charge at that time, it will be deducted afterwards, so you must not ignore it. In summary, a good value for money hotel, suitable for play, but not suitable for hotels.

It’s not cheap but the room is top clean! Lift is okay, not as bad as some comments said here. I didn’t experience any long waiting time during my 3 nights stay there. My flight departs midnight so I left my luggage there which it’s a good service.

before I even checked in I was already irritated. Jonathan the front desk agent talks to you in a very condescending manner. After simply telling him that someone forgot to sign on the credit card machine and was told ”...thank you for your interest, that's something that we handle.” First of all, I wasn't interested in anything except, being polite, just to let you know. 2nd issue, I asked to be upgraded to one of the terrace rooms, was told they no longer have them. And that I should've read the descriptions on the website bc it states it there. So as I'm standing there in the app I look it up and it doesn't have it there and there's also pictures of the terrace rooms. So, I tried to inform him that it doesn't in fact have anything regarding that and I was met with ”...sir, like I said, if you go on the website...” At this point I'm over it so I just ask for an upgrade with a view at least and the view was on the inside of the hotel, like for real? I ask for a view and you put me in that room anyways he finally puts me in a corner queen room. Remember this is supposed to be an upgrade 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th....12th issue No fridge(had to call to get one brought up) image attached No microwave Crappy little TV (I can't lay in the bed and watch TV bc I can't see it) and my eyesight is great, I don't need glasses or anything. Image attached No handle on the sliding door for the restroom Image attached View haha don't get me started. To say the decor is outdated is an understatement. And I literally have spent the last 4 hours to try and get the aspect ratio on the tv to change so that I can get some work done but bc the TV is so freaking outdated I can't. So not only did I waste 19000 points plus $175 on a hotel that has literally been one thing after another, after another. So, save yourself from the hassle and condescension from the staff and stay at a better hotel. I wish I would have.

It seems that Marriott only booked it. The front desk service is very good. The hotel is relatively old and clean. The room is a little small. Half of the first floor is in the basement. The air conditioner is really loud. This is the first time I see it. Noisy air conditioner, I can’t bear it because I slept well, there is no water in the room, I need to go to the front desk to get it, I stayed for two days, came back very late on the first day, the room was not cleaned at all, I didn’t eat breakfast, so I can’t comment, mainly because of wake up Not coming. It is very close to JFK Airport, which is convenient for connecting flights, but it is still a bit far to go to the city center.

Our overall one night stay was fine, but I rated this property ”average” due to: - At check in, Peggy did not acknowledge us as Hilton Honors Diamond Members. - Our room (1011) was in sad shape. The floor was sticky. The furniture had tears and was very worn down. The ceiling had large water stains and the walls had water damage in several areas. - The shower had no 'hot' water. When you turned it to the hot setting, cold water came out, you had to let it run for awhile (wasting a lot of water) to heat to lukewarm, at most. However, our overall stay was okay due to: - Glad to see recycling bins...which we used. - Grateful for the complimentary shuttle to and from the airport. - Enjoyed the complimentary breakfast- plenty of choices. - We had a nice view of the city from our 10th floor room. This hotel is close to LaGuardia Airport. It was quiet, with exception of hallway noise. We did not have a car, so I cannot comment on the hotel parking. The front desk had plenty of menus offering Mexican, Chinese, and Italian food for delivery.

The room facilities are complete and pleasant. Free yoga mats and foam shafts are provided. Morning and evening workouts can be played on the TV. Everything is related to the concept of fitness. However, the service of the restaurant electric lemon was really bad. When the breakfast was taken, the waiter gave the menu and left. No one came to ask for coffee or tea. After a few minutes to prepare the order, I couldn't find the waiter ... … Finally stopped a waiter passing by, I said I was ready to order, and she was still unhappy to ask me Are we in a rush? Overall, I had a good experience in the hotel. The rooms are rather pricy but that’s normal in NY, especially if you have a room overlooking Times Square. The staff is (mostly) friendly and courteous. There is a 10$ voucher that you can use every day in the bar. They hotel has room service which is not a given in NY after the COVID related down scaling of services in hotels due to lack of guests and staff. The food is OK, though the quality and quantity varies from day to day. Be careful with your laundry service. I overlooked that the day I was handing in my laundry was a holiday and I was charged a hefty $140 for a few underwear, T Shirts and socks due to an additional holiday/Sunday fee. However, after raising the matter with the hotel manager - who handled the matter in a very friendly and professional manner unlike the operator I spoke to first - a discount was added to my bill that compensated for the additional holiday laundry fee. Since it was me that had overlooked the holiday, this was a nice and welcome gesture that I much appreciated. Overall, the hotel can be recommended though the rooms are a little too small for the price. They are, however, modern, clean and comfortable.

Because the plane was late, I arrived at the hotel at 1 o'clock in the middle of the night. The lady at the front desk helped me to check in very quickly. It was the speed of New York. Hotel location is very good. About 5 minutes walk to Fifth Avenue, turn to Central Park, and the subway station will walk for 5 minutes. The hotel is a post-modern urban minimalist style, the room is good, very New York apartment feel, but the breakfast is a bit too casual, too simple, but the breakfast at the New York hotel is probably so good, it is a very good hotel

Two doormen stationed at the front entrance saw us retrieving our luggage from the cab trunk, but made no attempt to help. I had checked in a day earlier and was great full that the room was made available at 12 PM . They did tell us there was no view; I was okay with that as we are in NY regularly and at this trip it was not a priority. I haven’t stayed at this hotel in a few years, but remembered the excellent butler service and lovely accommodations, and was looking forward to it. The checkin felt like something one would expect at a Highway motel. No explanation of any services, no welcome drink, no Butler introductions, nobody accompanied you to the room or directed you to the elevator. The room had the tiniest window, with a curtain without a valance (# 1406) facing a wall a few feet away. No Natural light what so ever. The leather head rest on the bed was ripped on a couple of spots. It had only one not very comfortable lounge chair in a fairly large king room. So if you are a couple, you cannot even sit together for a cup of coffee. In the past at checkin the butler would introduce themselves, offer coffee , tea etc and make sure you were satisfied with the accommodations. We had ballet tickets for a matinee, so initially decided to just go with the flow. Went for a quick lunch at the Astor, paid around $170 for 2 ceaser salads, a bloody mary and a glass of Duvel Leroy Champagne. I have no problems paying premium prices for value , but $28 for a Bloody Mary with a celery stalk garnish and stoli vodka? They claimed to have invented it , but definitely not worth the price. When we returned back from the ballet and returned to the room , it seemed really depressing. They call it an interior room , but it could easily be in a windowless basement. We requested a room change and requested to speak to a manager. We were told the manager was downstairs and would call us back. We were going to dinner, so left the front desk our cell number. The manager ever returned the call. On our return when we requested a room change, we were told that they were completely sold out. At this point we were exhausted an decided to just let it go and returned to our room for a good nights sleep. It was around 10:30 PM, and there was a continuous loud rumbling sound. When we called the front desk , we were told that the noise was from their service elevator which was being used a lot that night as 2 of their 4 passenger elevators had been broken for a couple of days. They offered to now move us to another room. So at 11 Pm we had to get dressed and pack up to move to another room. The new room (1903), had a moldy smell. Got up next morning with a back ache as the bed was not comfortable. In the morning the moldy smell seems to have gotten even worse and I did report that. I was told it was because of air conditioning! We called the butler for coffee in the morning. The French press coffee arrived with c

We stayed here during our trip for five days. This was our first time in New York City and it was exceptional. Since it was the first time visiting, I spent weeks researching hotels looking at neighborhoods, reviews, room types, everything! I’m so happy we decided on The Gotham! From the front desk to the restaurant there were no issues. Everyone was very helpful, attentive, and kind. The pictures are exactly like the rooms. We stayed in the king balcony room on the back side of the building which was really cool and quiet. We also stayed in the queen balcony room because we didn’t do our dates correctly lol and thankfully they had a room open. Looking out on the balcony in the queen room was awesome. We are returning over Christmas and have rebooked the queen balcony room and I can’t wait! This room is noisier but it’s not to the point of not being able to sleep. My husband and I live in the country surrounded by cow fields so if I can sleep with the noise level anyone can!

The room is nice, the breakfast is very good, there is a slight subway noise, which I can accept. It is very convenient to take the subway line D to Manhattan. It is also close to Eighth Avenue. There are Chinese restaurants within a few steps. I will stay here next time. I booked it on Ctrip Regarding the room, Ctrip was also very responsible and arranged everything accordingly.

5 night stay for a family birthday and reunion. On arrival there was a little mix up with the booking which manager Chris & staff worked quickly to resolve to our satisfaction. The suite had oodles of space , the bed was massive and very comfy. Have in your mindset this is an older hotel , with old fashioned lifts ,decor and doors. March weather was very cold and the old, drafty windows made the rooms a little cold when the curtains were pulled open, but there’s easily operated heating in the bedrooms which you just turn on to heat the room quickly. There’s lots of space to hang up clothes. The shower was over bath and adequate. The cleaning service was very efficient with the room cleaned every morning. Complimentary bottled water, tea & coffee making facilities in room. Food at both the bar and restaurant is very tasty, especially the Irish breakfast. You can get a sense of the real will from the management and staff to get back to normal after the awful pandemic closure. All the Staff were very helpful and friendly. Location is excellent. All in all a fantastic stay in a wonderful city!

We stayed in New York for 5 nights and 2 hotels. Compared to this one, it is a century-old brand in the United States. The service is super good, and the toiletries are good. When you check out, the things in the safety box are forgotten to take away. After you think about it, you can take it. ! That's great! 100 likes!

This was booked through a travel agent when we said, nothing fancy just travel lodge type, for sleeping only really. It was for me and my daughter, 60 and 40, twin room requested. It looked ok on website so we were happy. Oh dear, when we got there we were told, you have our deluxe double, i told the receptionist we had requested a twin, he said non were available, so we thought a double like a travel lodge/premier it would be fine. The room was the size of your little bedroom in a house, the bed was long ways on running against the wall, after a conversation with the receptionist, a twin room miraculously appeared at a price of a further 200 dollars!! Over a barrel we agreed, what choice did we have! Once in new room, which was nice and had rooftop balcony, we decided to shower and change before eating, the shower was via the toilet in the room, i got in and then my daughter shouted mum, don't turn round! the shower, which was lovely and hot, was exposed to the whole room through a full length window! No modesty at all. The room service and cleanliness was great and i am sure for a certain type of guest these rooms are good value and do the job. I have attached the welcome poster on the back of the door, we have laughed since. Also don't eat at the joint next door, it too expensive and not good value, walk to the end of the street onto 2nd ave and you ll find lovely eatery's and service. Also don't use their return to airport service, they use a luxury limousine service which is double the yellow taxi!

The location of the hotel is invincible. You can walk to Central Park, Times Square, and countless famous attractions in Manhattan. Next to the subway station, the transportation is very convenient. The hotel service is also very good. Hair dryer and coffee machine were sent to the front desk by phone. The room was clean and tidy. It is basically full, causing the elevators to be very tight and need to wait. Some rooms in the hotel are a bit old-fashioned, and the details such as the corners may not be very beautiful. Let's see if someone pays attention.

I was here on business and stayed at the Arthouse for four nights. Being born and raised in New York, I wanted to be in a hotel that felt more intimate, away from the hustle of New York. From the moment I walked in, the vibe was perfect. They have a great management team and staff, management consistently present in the lobby, greeting guests and making sure that things are running smoothly. There is a small, intimate bar that opens in the evening serving great cocktails. Service is genuine and on spot. Great location on the upper west side, on a side street - Sarafina's is off of the lobby serving delicious food, steps away from the lobby. Lobby is a great place to socialize or get some work done - beds are super comfortable and the room was very clean...really loved this property and will defnitely be back!

First let me start by saying that I was contacted by the hotel for feedback following my stay. I asked via email and voicemail to have the General Manager give me a call and waited before writing this review. I asked the Director of Guest Services for follow up and still have not been contacted. Check in-We had a great experience at check with the front desk. The agent was efficient and friendly. She followed up with a phone call to the room to see that everything was ok which we appreciated. Room-The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was a little small. Housekeeping-At check in we were told to call before noon if we wanted housekeeping. We did call and were told that they could only pick up trash and bring clean towels. I know this has changed since the pandemic and we were fine with this. Bar and food- We did not receive any welcome drink or champagne so after we settled in we went to the bar for a drink and something to eat. We were told that there was a private event and that they could not accommodate us. After some push back the hostess said we could sit down for one drink but must be done in 20 minutes. I understand private events are lucrative but there should always be some space for guests to relax and get a drink after a long journey. Before arriving I had called the front desk and asked to speak to a concierge about reservations. I was told that all of the reservations for the restaurant and jazz club were made via Resy and that I should book them myself. There was no priority for guests and no concierge service to help. I never saw a concierge in the lobby during my 3 day stay. We had a great time at the jazz club and the host was wonderful. We coordinated the experience on our own with no help from the hotel. Noise-We were a little worried about the noise in this hotel as the rooms open to the bar area. Our room was on a high floor it was not that bad and the music shut down around 10:30 pm. They have installed a white noise devise that sounds like a broken air conditioner which was worse than the actual noise. There is some city noise as rooms are facing busy streets but that did not bother us. What did disturb us were the guests next us. You could hear the other guests late at night. Definitely a party hotel. Amenities- The web site states Wi-Fi is free which is great. There is a 34.95 dollar a night room charge. Not sure this is justified. We had no champagne greeting, were not able to enjoy the bar due to a private event, no bathrobes, and no priority at any of the restaurants or clubs. When I completed the guest survey the response I got was if I wanted a bathrobe I should ask for one. Booking- I booked this hotel directly via the hotel website. That was a mistake. After the first night we looked to change hotels. The hotel had rates much cheaper than we were paying on most all of the third party websites. We decided to stick it out and not hassle with a hotel move so

From start to finish was completely IMPRESSIVE!! It is extremely clean, the room was perfect with an even more perfect view of the city overlooking the historic APOLLO THEATRE! The best part about my stay was NEESHA, the young lady that checked me in! She was attentive from the time she greeted me. She was warm and welcoming. Once we started chatting, it was like she had read my soul. I expressed to her why I was there and we exchanged stories of the elders in our families. It brought me to tears because I was there for yet another funeral. She quickly said “I’ll take great care of you, I want this to be the best experience for you”. She gave me a beautiful view, offered water….. she offered me a robe and slippers. I know that I don’t have that type of “STATUS”, but she went above and beyond like the superstar she is! She definitely made me understand that my own Customer Service could be better! I hope that MARRIOTT knows what a jewel they have in NEESHA!! I hope that she one day opens her own property because she certainly knows how to operate a FRONT DESK!! Can’t wait to return in February!!

Great location for a person seeking the heart of Times Square. There are various levels of rooms so don’t be offended if you don’t book a city view and then get a window with a view of a building. The entrance was decent, yet for a W hotel, I never saw a doorman on site. We never had staff assist us with our bags either. The initial impression after the primary door is decent. They turned it into an sort of underwater experience. With this being said the four nights we stayed there I also never once saw a security guard as you first enter leaving a bit of safety concerns up for grabs. From there you have to catch an elevator up to the main lobby which is nicely decorated. Upon checking in don’t expect to be greeted with a smile (even if you have rank as a bonvoy member). Just get your key and go. As for the room the overall appearance is dependent upon the level of room you choose, so to be impartial I won’t give my opinion on the rooms. I will though, continue to comment on the lackluster service as that aspect should be stellar across the board. Upon asking for recommendations for the city we were handed a crumbled, partially torn paper with a generous number of locations, no additional information was provided by the staff. The night before checking out I found myself in need of a razor. I called guest services and they advised they’d be able to provide one. 40 minutes had passed and still no razor. After burning much time just waiting, I decided it would probably be faster for me to walk to CVS buy one and come back (which it was). Again, I mention the location is prime Times Square making every item the hotel forgets to bring you, easily found and easily accessible by foot. The cocktails at the “Living Room” bar are horrible. They range from $20-25 per cocktail and if you light a cigarette near it, you’ll probably catch on fire from the amount of unshaken liquor in the glass. A heavy pour isn’t always a good pour especially when you’re looking to actually be able to walk the city. We have the living room bar 3 tries before deciding to just have our first set of cocktails outside of the establishment. A benefit is that the W gives you $25 to spend at the bar daily with your $25 resort fee. For the first time in my life free wasn’t actually better. I really would love a call from someone at the establishment as I am certain the experiences my wife and I dealt with are not the “norm”. Overall, do not recommend. I would recommend The NY Marriott Marquis.

We stayed here for a week in May and loved it! We were nervous after reading negative reviews but really can't understand what reviewers were complaining about as that was not our experience at all. As 3 females travelling we always felt safe here - Central Park was 10 minutes one way and Times Square was 10 minutes the other way, it's a perfect location. We loved the view from our room at night time when New York was all lit up. Our room was spacious with a big bathroom, always well stocked with plenty of towels and toiletries. The little kitchenette was very handy when we bought drinks and groceries, or took boxes up from breakfast. Talking of breakfast this was fantastic - a huge room with plenty of seating and a massive array of fresh food always being restocked by the plenty of staff milling around answering any queries and cleaning up. There was a gentleman who was always clearing away tables and emptying the bins and was friendly and helpful. He obviously loved little kids and would pay special attention to families who were juggling their kids while also trying to have breakfast. A couple of times we saw him produce a packaged cookie from his back pocket to give to a little one and their little faces lit up and the parents were always so pleased that someone was paying attention to their kids - we thought this was lovely and such a personal touch. We've read other reviews that the breakfast room was too small with a limited range but that is not the case at all - it was brilliant - best of all they provide boxes so that you can take foodstuffs away with you which we did all the time and could then store in our in room fridge. We never saw the cleaners but they did an amazing job and twice they did our washing up! We never had that before and it was a pleasant surprise as we were intending to do it when we got back in the evening. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful and one young lady receptionist always gave us a wave and a smile as we passed by as she recognised us after a couple of days, though she always struggled to understand our English accents! The concierge guys were brilliant and so helpful. I can't remember their names except for the one with a film star name - Orlando. They answered all our annoying tourist questions and one of the guys, when we asked about a cab, took us up to the corner and used his whistle to stop a cab, opened the door and sent us on our way - such a nice personal touch which made us feel cared for. The air conditioning in our room was very effective and was not noisy at all so maybe the people who mentioned it were just unlucky. Yes the elevators did make a noise but not that you couldn't sleep. We loved New York and would like to return and will definitely stay here again - I would 100% recommend staying here.
