Old Stratford and Drayton
|2.43km from city centerStayed here as part of trip to the theatre. The hotel is a gentle 15-20 minutes stroll from the RSC which was perfect. I stayed on the top floor which has just been refurbished into be Premier Plus rooms and my room was fab. The room layout and design worked for me, a great bed, a good room temp (I like it cooler than most places insist on having) and being able to do a spot of work in the early hours . Special call out for the young man on Reception (sadly I have forgotten his name) who was a brilliant example of great customer service, looking after my case when there weren't rooms available to check in early, and being accurate with the time suggested to return to check in. I'd certainly consider staying here again

|1.73km from city centerWe were made to feel so welcome from the moment we walked into reception. We bid for our stay as part of charity auction. The owners of Stratford park had donated a golf break of a night dinner, bed and breakfast and two rounds of golf in aid of Primrose Hospice. The junior suite is a lovely room, cozy and relaxing with luxury touches. Maz, the restaurant manager was attentive and looked after our every need. He gave great recommendations for food and wine and all was delicious. Golf - lovely course with wide fairways. Again friendly service from all. My challenge was to get over the water on 17th. I didn’t succeed so I will definitely go back.

|1.55km from city centerWe spent one night here. The Hotel is in a small village just outside Stratford. There is not much outside space other than parking. A warm welcome at Reception and felt totally safe with the COVID arrangements. The reception area was very clean as was our room (No.1 on the. ground floor). Indeed you would have thought it was a brand new room. The facilities in the room were excellent. Large TV with Movie channels. The walk-in shower was very clean. We ate in the Saddles Bar and the food was excellent. The breakfast service was great and the food was top quality. I have tried to find something to find fault with but I can't. Even the price was very reasonable.

Warwick
|0.31km from city centerStayed here for 1 night - 30th December as a couple. The Old Coffee Tavern is very central and a short walk from the castle. It's a middle-sized pub, with an open kitchen in the back that looks a bit odd and a slightly cramped bar but is clean and not too rowdy. We took a twin room right at the top with a shower room. It was nice, with a view over the town, and was clean and tidy with nice decor and all the bits and pieces you'd expect. If I were to be picky, I'd say the mini bar was both a bit noisy and also a bit superfluous, perched on a table as it was. The beds were clean and comfy and there was adequate storage. Breakfast in the morning came with attentive service, plenty of tea and coffee, and lots of choices. It was pretty good. All in all, then, this was a very nice place to stay in the heart of Warwick.

|1.24km from city centerThe location on Birmingham Road provided easy access to the charming sights of Stratford-upon-Avon, making it a convenient base for exploring the town. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, offering a good night's sleep after a day of sightseeing. The staff Mr. Rejo was friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with any needs or inquiries. Overall, it offered great value for a pleasant and hassle-free stay in a historic location.

Warwick
|1.67km from city centerI arrived at around 11:30am on the day of check in to see if I could check in early, which is advertised as being from 11am, if available. I was told ”you're a bit early” 😂 I was advised the rooms weren't ready, which was fine as I am aware it's not always possible, but that made me chuckle and my bags were kindly taken from me to pick up later. Check in was smooth, the rooms were perfect, clean a a good temperature in the room, couldn't have been better. Breakfast was just ok, I think the fact it's only a small restaurant doesn't help them, as it looks busier than it actually is, I have to say some cooked items were not available and took a while to be replenished, which isn't up to standard with other premier inns. Dinner - the food is great, I can't fault it and much better than other premier inn's I have stayed out, however the service is a let down. We were left waiting a long time between courses, and the first night when I didn't get the meal deal I was waiting 20 mins for the bill to come, I just got up and waited by the till to pay myself as I was being ignored. I think they should operate an order and pay at the bar system like other premier inns, they don't have enough staff for an effective table service. The location is good, plenty of parking and a 10 minute bus ride into town. I would recommend staying here and would advise, don't attempt an early check in, buy the meal deal in advance so you're not left waiting for the bill and be prepared to wait a long time between courses at dinner.

Stratford-upon-Avon
|0.18km from city centerThere are many advantages: breakfast is absolutely amazing, in addition to the big road of milk bread and fruit coffee, the hotel offers a freshly prepared breakfast. A menu is attached to the picture. I am full of full English Breakfast, full of fullness, but the heat is very high! At the same time, there is a capsule coffee machine on the tea table, which can be brought back to the room to drink. The room is large, there is apple TV available, and the facilities are very good. Disadvantages: Of course, the hotel is a villa change, so there is no elevator inside, there are heavy boxes of their own attention. In addition, although there is a hair dryer, there is no electric kettle, and you need to bring your own. And a little distance from the city center (8 minutes), so buy something to go a little.

|6.63km from city centerThis place was not good at all when we arrived we were met by the manager who was very abrubt bordering on rude - the room seemed ok but the shower tray was very slippery and the door to the shower would not close - no sanitary bin in the bathroom - the mattress was the most uncomfortable I have ever tried - the cleanliness left a lot to be desired especially the stairs which were very dirty with extremely worn carpets with a lot of large holes,If you have mobility issues the stairs are very steep. We booked 2 double rooms they had no single rooms my son was in 1 double room on his own but we were charged double room rate which INCLUDED the price of 2 breakfasts - when I asked for the second breakfast which we had paid for to be put in a take away bag it was refused . We stayed for an evening meal which was ok as long as you don't mind your food being overcooked and you like rock hard onion bajies. It was a totally abysmal experience - we had just been to a funeral and the way we were treated really did not help. Lastly if you want a quiet evening meal please dont go when the Cheltenhan races are on - The irish people that came for a meal were sooooo loud.

|0.01km from city centerThe food is primarily Mexican but we decided to go for the Specials. I'm sure the Mexican meals would have been great because the 'traditional' meal we chose was amazing! Highly recommend the cottage pie (the twist of lemon lifted the whole dish) & the chef came out to check we were enjoying the meal. The room we are staying is clean, crisp and exactly what we needed. We spend many weekends travelling around the UK &, we would happily return here. (My food photo does not do it justice as we'd enjoyed most of it before I took the photo).

|0.7km from city centerVery characteristic log cabin, the room is not big, but the layout is compact, and there is a kitchenette with a stove. The sanitation inside the house is good, but it is best to clean the wooden seats outside. The mattress is too soft, and the sofa for the baby to sleep on is also very small. The curtains are thin and easy to wake up early in the morning. The surrounding scenery is good, you can stroll around at will. Catering should be featured, but we didn't have the chance to taste it. The child said he liked it very much.

Stratford-upon-Avon
|0.4km from city centerWe stayed there two nights and there were 4 of us thus two, Deluxe rooms were booked. Absolutely nothing, except the size, was anywhere near Deluxe. The seats of the bar chairs were stained badly. The fridge in the room was empty, not even a bottle of water. When I asked if they had forgotten to fill it, the receptionist, totally disinterested, answered that they didn’t do that anymore and if we wanted a bottle of water, we had to ask for it at the reception. It was free but only on request. The second day we returned from a long day out to find the room and bed not made up and the bathroom exactly as we had left it.. again at the reception, where I was told that that also was only on request. We have stayed in very many hotels this and also in past years but this was just totally at the bottom of the list even though it was one of the most expensive. €1,000 for two nights. There were no lights on the dark path around the hotel. All in all a discrace all round for any hotel, not to mind a, so called luxury hotel… terrible. Booking.com only mentions our favorable comments and that were ..Good beds and pillows and perfect location. Had I read any of the more honest reactions, I would never have chosen this hotel. Hospitality was totally lacking, just as the honesty on the Booking.com site. Sad after many years of loyal use and satisfaction.. very disappointed this year !

Stratford-upon-Avon
|4.94km from city centerThe hotel is generally good and the staff are attentive, but we would suggest avoiding the restaurant.
The hotel doesn't warrant a 4* with areas showing wear and tear such as water-damaged wood, mouldy seal in the bathroom, broken window locks, etc.
Our room was not ready when we arrived, so we were given a drinks voucher. After being advised our room was ready, we arrived at the room to find the maid still cleaning the room. The room included basic tea and coffee facilities and toiletries.
The pool/spa is limited and has a cold pool, a steam room, a sauna, and a gym.
We had booked into the restaurant for an evening meal, but when we arrived there was a table complaining about the food. They had sent their food back to the kitchen twice, and the staff were suggesting they send it back again. They walked out of the restaurant. Based on this, we thought we would order something that was pretty safe, so we ordered a burger and a chicken. However, the meat tasted cheap and of poor quality. The restaurant is charging gastro prices, but the quality is nothing better than Wetherspoons or worse. Again, the puddings were basic, with a vegan coconut ice cream that had an odd texture to it and a sticky toffee pudding that was no better than a cheap microwave pud. In our opinion, the staff were inappropriately dressed, with one waitress having such a short skirt that every time she moved you got to see more than you wanted. The bar staff were assisting in the restaurant, and one barman was dressed in hip-style jeans, which kept falling down. Although all very attentive and polite, it seemed that the hotel as a whole had very limited staff, with everyone just mucking in.
The breakfast was not much better than our evening meal. We arrived at 9.30am to find the milk, pastries, hot water, etc. had run dry. There was a selection of hot food, but once again the meat tasted cheap. The main waitress was incredibly young and either didn't communicate or spoke so incredibly quietly that you could not hear what she said.
At check out, we were not asked how our stay had been, and we felt that everything was done to avoid such communication.

|2.1km from city centerThe service was great! There was an error with room allocation and as the booked room was not available, we got upgraded to a suite which was wonderful as we were celebrating a special milestone birthday. The dinner at the Trevellyn Restaurant was beyond expectation as we were vegetarian and the vegetarian meal prepared by the chef was awesome. The hotel decor itself looked a little tired although it added to the authentic look of the listed building. It was a hot weekend during our stay and although there was no air conditioning, a small fan was provided which made a little difference when sleeping at night. The gardens needed some upkeep and it would have been lovely if the fountains had been working. Overall we did enjoy our stay and look forward to coming back again after it has gone through some upgrading and refurbishing.

|0.1km from city centerThe appearance of the hotel is not good, opposite the new place of Shakespeare. After entering, people feel surprised and the front desk service is very good. This time, the first floor was opened and the balcony door was the garden. It felt great! Breakfast is also good, the restaurant in the hotel is also very good! The bathroom is very big, the downside is that the wet and dry function is not separated.

I was shown to a lovely spacious room with a great bathroom. The room was extremely clean and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing and the Full English was delicious. Bill offers plentiful tea/coffee re fills along with toast, preserves etc so breakfast really sets you up for the day. His place is truly a 'home from home' and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Moss Cottage to anyone visiting the area.

|0.1km from city centerThe hotel is located in the city center, 15 minutes walk from the railway station with luggage, 5 to 10 minutes walk to Shaon’s former residence, and 2 minutes on a road in Shaweng New Residence. The location is very convenient. The town is very beautiful, the entire city centre is not too big, and the day is enough to turn around. Hotel facilities are old, but very clean, the rooms are medium in size, the bathrooms are extremely clean and large enough. Breakfast is a typical English breakfast, coffee and tea waiters will be handed over to you, and the overall service is very friendly.

|0.37km from city centerWe arrived early & the nice gentleman on reception allowed us to park & check in early. Our room (number 2) was located on the ground floor next to the main road & was noisy all through the night. However, this was easily sorted the next day by the purchase of some ear plugs. The room was clean, well maintained & had a good sized en suite wet room. The carpark is small so it's on a first come, first served basis. There is a small parade of shops across the road which is very useful. A word to the wise on the location. It's true that it is close to the castle, but that walk is uphill so be prepared. There are, however, a fair few cafés, shops etc along the way. The lady who checked us out was very helpful & had a very pleasant demeanour. All in all a nice place in a lovely town.

The room is large, the bed and pillows are very comfortable, the facilities are complete, the parking is free, and the breakfast is superb! |1.62km from city centerStayed for a couple of days whilst we visited local historical sites. Room was excellent as was the pool and general facilities. Was surprised the bar evening menu is the same as the main restaurant - seems little point in not availing oneself of the restaurant since it is much nicer and costs nothing more! Many thanks to the bar staff (who sang happy birthday) and Rieann and Ionda in the restaurant for their friendly service.

|0.32km from city centerWe had a lovely stay here, the facilities are really good. We enjoyed the pool and gym areas, there’s outdoor games to play and the grounds are beautiful. However, the service leaves a lot to be desired. A lot of the staff are very young and whilst friendly the method of service is very reactive (we noticed this in a few other reviews). Lots of glasses and plates being left around, dirty tables not being cleaned whilst groups of staff are stood in the corner chatting. I wouldn’t mind this as much if it wasn’t a 4/5 star hotel. Often staff would forget what you’d ask for and you’d be waiting ten minutes for a spoon or milk with your tea. Whilst the food is lovely it is fairly overpriced - this didn’t bother us as much as we had dinner credit included but I wouldn’t have eaten there without credit. Having said that, we had a great meal in the restaurant and the staff provided a pudding as a surprise for my birthday which was a lovely treat! Overall, we would return to stay again - but don’t expect 5* service.

|0.28km from city centerWe stayed here 3 weeks ago and wanted to bring friends from Scotland to visit Stratford this last weekend, but unfortunately the Arden was fully booked. We came for dinner, as we knew how good it had been when we were guests. All I can say is fabulous! The restaurant & bar staff were all so pleasant & attentive. Alex was one of our waiters and has to be one of the funniest guys I’ve ever met - he read that our group had a sense of humour & made us all giggle. He’s a massive credit. The food was just ace, and I definitely recommend the scallops to start, and the Ribeye. We’ll definitely be back, thanks all 🙂

|0.79km from city centerThis hotel is well suited to the old phrase ‘fur coat, no knickers’. The main reception rooms are beautiful, but the actual accommodation leaves a lot to be desired. £229 felt like a huge sum of money for a random night in October, in a tatty room, with stains on the walls, chipped paint work that in places was more chip than paint, blackened grout in the bathroom, 1950s metal & single glazed prefab style windows and a door which looked as if it had been bust open at some point (nothing like making your guests feel safe). Also deciding to give the spa a swerve, on the basis that a quick look didn’t inspire much confidence, we were truly disappointed with this hotel & would not recommend it to anyone based on our experience. The stay was supposed to be a treat, but the decor is in dire need of a serious face lift. Interestingly, the person who checked us out did not ask if everything was satisfactory, or if we had enjoyed our stay. It was as if she knew it was a total rip off. For somewhere which oozes polished antique charm in its public rooms, Alveston Manor seemed somewhat hypocritical and grossly over-priced behind the scenes.

|0.52km from city centerWhat a lovely weekend we had in Warwick, staying at The Kings Head Inn. We felt very welcome, the rooms were spacious and very cosy with a powerful shower in the ensuite. Tea/coffee, water available in the room. Breakfast was superb and plentiful. Two bars available and outdoor seating- when the weather becomes a bit warmer. The menu is tapas or burgers mainly. We ate in the restaurant side Saturday evening and had burgers. We all ordered different ones (there was four of us) and we all said how delicious they were. Also a free car park. The host Mike was full of knowledge of the pub and surrounding buildings. Warwick town centre and the castle were only a few minutes walk. If you’re looking for a relaxing weekend, with a comfortable room, with plenty of heating and hot water, free parking and delicious food then book into The Kings Head Inn in Warwick. You won’t be disappointed

Reception:
Liz at reception was fantastic and Helen at breakfast was informative made great suggestions on where to visit historical sites.
Room / facilities:
Room number 19 is on the ground floor and is clean. The room consists of 2 single beds, desk, chair, iron and board, stand shower (no tub) in the bath room, desk and chair.
Self control air conditioning with a window that opens about 5 cm.
The room does not have a fridge.
Although we had to change rooms due to plumbing issues, our second room was very functional and comfortable.
Parking:
This is available at an additional £3.50 per night cost, car registration must be provided at check in. Whilst there are plenty of parking spaces, a car is required to get to the hotel, resulting in the spaces filling quickly.
Wifi:
Complementary and good speed. No validation or password required.
Breakfast:
The buffet breakfast is from 6.30am to 9.30am and consists of cereals, yogurt, breads (to toast) jams and spreads, fresh fruits, pastries, eggs, bacon, baked beans, sausages & harsh browns, juices, tea /coffee. Staff are very attentive to remove plates and refill food items.
Nice touch having a staff member come around during breakfast offering sweet pastries.
Conclusion:
Centrally located “base”hotel for day trips to surrounding towns or Warwick town. Very nice staff, with a Mcdonalds outside your door step.
Letdowns:
No fridge, inconsistent room features.

|0.55km from city centerWe stayed at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Stratford for a couple of days. We like to come to the theatre a couple of times a year if we can to see the RSC. Could not miss the opportunity to see All's well that ends well. It's not performed that often. We have stayed in this hotel several times with mixed feelings. We have had great stays and some not so good. This time it was good. It was busy due to several corporate seminars being held at the same time. These seemed well organised and didn't affect our stay. We had booked breakfast for both days. The first morning was busy for breakfast but we where promptly sat at a very nice table overlooking the gardens. It is a full buffy service which was very good. Our waitress Clair was exceptional attentive and very pleasant. This was not the case on the following morning. We again had the table overlooking the garden. Claire the previous day had asked if we would like anything cooked from the kitchen. Boiled or pouched eggs omelette etc. This morning I had to find someone to take my order. I will not name her but, all she had to say was I'll be over in a minute. She came next to our table and set it for the next guests. Ignored us completely. After some time I spoke with a senior member of staff who didn't seem to acknowledge what I was saying, only telling a waiter to get me a pouched egg. Not the best experience I have had at the Crown Plaza. But all's well that ends well.
