1.51km from Muzey Zheleznodorozhnoy Tekhniki YuuzhdWe had love/hate experiences at this hotel. We loved our huge, extremely well furnished and nicely decorated “business” room. There was a big desk, even equipped with a fax machine and tower computer. The dining table with white table cloth, china, flatware, and multiple wine glasses was elegant. The leather chairs and sofa in the living room were first class. However, we had to use the sofa as a suitcase holder, since there were no other flat surfaces or convenient clothes storage. The bathroom had a jetted tub and bidet, but no flat surface to place things. There was good storage under the sink. What to hate? The heating system did not work. A small space heater kept the bathroom warm. One day, a flood above caused rain to fall over the toilet – a very unpleasant experience. We loved the breakfast, with large selection of cold and hot food. Staff were generally friendly. What to hate? Our check in was marred by staffs’ attempted application of outdated Soviet rules about “registration.” We have never experienced such problems and stress when checking in at many other Russian hotels. For this reason alone, I would advise international travelers to avoid this hotel.
