|0.87km from city centerThree of us visited for a week in June. The rooms are very traditional, spotless and comfortable. Roberta, the owner can't do enough to help you even giving my sister mosquito repellent and antihistamine cream when her own repellent didn't work. The breakfasts are simple continental style but there were always boiled eggs, cheese and meats plus croissant and cake. There was also two types of cereal which included a tasty granola. The air conditioning takes a little while to make a difference from first switching it on but once it gets going it works very well. The rooms have electric shutters which are great at keeping the sun out and if you leave them shut with the air-con on while you are out, the room is wonderfully cool when you get back. The temperatures were reaching 35 degrees while we were there and it made walking around everywhere we visited quite uncomfortable so if you like to get around a lot come in early May although there are thunderstorms in the late afternoon/early evening in May but to be honest, we would have welcomed them. The villa is brilliantly situated for the centre of Desenzano just a short walk to the lake front for the ferries, shops, bars and restaurants. Roberta gave us a 10% off card for restaurant Agora and we went there three times as the food was good and the upstairs terrace has a good view. There is no pool at the villa and just a small pebble beach which is quite a walk so if you like sunbathing this may not be ideal. All in all we had a very enjoyable holiday and would heartily recommend Villa Desenzano.

Our apartment has a balcony with a lake view - it is really cool! You have your own table where you can spend beautiful time. LOCATION: wonderful! In the centre of Garda lake, there are a lot of restaurants nearby, good start for walk. It takes 15min to the railway station by feet. FOOD: nice breakfast is included, there is also cafe in front of the hotel with the lake view. FACILITIES: good wi-fi on every floor, safe in a room, tea and coffee also. STAFF: very friendly and polite. Everyone want to help you with any question.

|0.51km from city centerAbsolute 5 star review for this beautiful hotel. Very easy to get to, ample parking if driving in, and if coming on the train it is a simple 15 minute downhill straight walk. The hotel is beautiful, quirky yet classic, immaculately clean. Interesting artwork and ornaments on display, lots to look at! Reception staff are friendly, courteous and so pleasant, at all times! We stayed in room 102, it was warm, comfortable, spotlessly clean and very well appointed. Bathroom was well stocked with towels and toiletries. Mini bar was so cheap too!! Plenty of storage in our spacious room for luggage and clothes. Breakfast was amazing!!! One of the best breakfast experiences we have had on our travels, everything was beautifully fresh and well presented. Local area is lovely, plenty of shops and bars/restaurants within 10 mins. The harbour to catch the local ferries is across the road 2 minutes away. Park hotel, I would award 10 stars if I could, we enjoyed every minute and will return for sure! Grazie!

|0.47km from city centerFabulous location, just off the main square and the bars/restaurants. Boats/ferry virtually on the doorstop, so never had to go too far if we didn't want to. Train station about 15 mins walk away, easier downhill, not so quick on the way up with bags!
For some reason I was expecting a smaller family run hotel. It seemed to be much bigger than I expected and that 'family feel' was lacking unfortunately. Majority of the time there was no one at reception and other than one staff member (or family) the rest seemed pretty uninterested. The hotel room was brown and although had 2 windows, looked onto the back of the building making the room felt quite dark. It was quiet though as long as the windows were closed and the room was clean.
A continental breakfast was included. We were there for a week and unfortunately after the first couple of days there was no fruit available and from day 3/4 most of the breakfast offerings were mostly gone at least half hour before breakfast ended, which led to a few disgruntled guests and a few leaving still hungry.
Other than breakfast, we did eat at the hotel a couple of times. The food was nice, though I felt a bit overpriced. Service was good on the first occasion but pretty indifferent on the second occasion. It felt like the owners' priority was on running the restaurants, which were busy, both at lunchtime and evening.
The hotel was very convenient but overpriced for what it offered...but then I guess we went peak time...! I don't think I would rebook the hotel if I was to go back to Desanzano.

|0.82km from city centerSpent more than 3 months in Il Sogno from April until early July first alone on business travel and at the end with the family. There are plenty of positive things mentioned in their reviews but I can not enough emphasize the top of the class service level that Salvatore and the whole staff are giving to their quests. They are always willing to serve you the best possible way and fulfill the requests that you might have! I stayed first 3 floor smaller apartment with separate bedroom and a kitchenette. Big balcony with views to the Garda lake was highly appreciated. With family we stayed 4th floor room 418 with 2 bedrooms and recently refurbished bathroom. Views from the large terrace are outstanding, not forgetting the living room area with full of light and view to the Garda lake. Kitchen here is small but we managed well. Air conditioning in 2 rooms was serving well good sleeps. Location is perfect for a holiday - few hundred meters to Decenzano's center & main attractions and less than 1 km to the railway station if want to travel to Milan or Venice. Personally I highly appreciated the road cycling possibilities around the Garda, to Verona or south from Garda. I can warmly recommend whoever visiting lake Garda area.

|0.51km from city centerLess than 10 minutes from the station by taxi, the hotel is centrally located and right on the lakeside with great views from the pavement terrace. Staff were friendly, helpful and cheerful (our receptionist was particularly helpful but we did not get her name). All staff (and everyone else we met) made an effort to speak English if necessary). Our en-suite accommodation was simple but clean, comfortable and adequate with good ac. Breakfast was lovely, especially sitting on the terrace overlooking Lake Garda (although the coffee was not as good as elsewhere). Tea, aperitifs and drinks were very reasonably priced. Dinners were not an option (which is sensible considering the range of restaurants, cafes and enoteccas on the doorstep). Other guests moving about at night and in the morning were a bit noisy and the Lido cafe next door was the same but cannot be heard from rooms inside the hotel. From the Riviera it is a matter of minutes to all local amenities: restaurants, cafes, shops, cruise boats, cycle hire, castle, Roman villa, supermarkets, laundromat… For a three star hotel we highly recommend The Riviera Hotel and it’s lovely staff.

|0.55km from city centerMy Husband and I have recently returned from our 3rd visit to the Hotel Piroscafo in Desenzano and, once again,everything was perfect. As on previous occasions we booked directly with the hotel via their website and were given a very warm welcome by the efficient and friendly staff. We had requested the same standard room on the top floor which had a balcony overlooking a courtyard and was very quiet. The breakfast buffet was delicious and catered for different nationalities with a good choice of cereals, cheeses, ham, eggs, various cakes and delicacies each day along with a wide range of fruit. It was lovely to be able to sit outside in the shade to eat breakfast as it was extremely hot during our visit. A lovely waitress would come to our table to take our drinks order and once she knew we liked a cappuccino she would remember this and say: ”Hello, Cappuccino”. There was always hand sanitizer available both in the restaurant and around the hotel. One of the best things about staying at the Hotel Piroscafo is it's wonderful position overlooking the Old Harbour and that it is so convenient for the restaurants and cafes with the ferry boats only two minutes round the corner. It is about a 15/20 minute walk to the train station so it is possible to visit places like Brescia, Verona and Peschiera by train for just a few Euros as train fares in Italy are cheap compared to the UK. I cannot think of anything else to add that hasn't already been said except that we very much hope to return for a 4th visit one day. Thank you to everyone at the Piroscafo.

Le prix des chambres est tellement raisonnable, que cela attire le tourisme de masse , lors de notre séjour , des bikers étrangers en bande , Bruyant , à l’éducation « viking « , et des cyclistes déjà en tenue au petit déjeuner !!! on un peu gâcher notre séjour . |1.16km from city centerThis 3-4 star hotel is exactly as described and reviewed. So don’t expect a 5 star luxury palace. But if you want a good hotel in a quiet position, a 10-15min walk to the centre of Desenzano, then this fits the bill. We arrived earlier than regular check in but were met with friendly reception staff. I had emailed Hotel Oliveto knowing this and as promised could leave bags at reception and use the pool and pool bar till our room was ready. I forgot to pack a towel in hand luggage so rented pool towels (€3 per towel for the entire stay - not unreasonable) The pool is 25x10m, clean, not overly chlorinated and a lovely 28 degrees. It has spa corners to relax in and plentiful loungers and umbrellas. The family friendly hotel had lots of kids but the pool was never overly crowded, nor was the space around it. There’s no view of the lake but it’s reasonably private and I think it’s fine. The pool bar is open from midday till 7 and serves simple snack food (sandwiches, toasties, chips etc along with a reasonable range of drinks) A separate shaded seating area means you can eat away from the pool. When we got into the room, it was one of the older styles (as expected). The new refurbished ones look on the photos to be of a much more modern and luxury type but the standard double we had was as per the photos. Given I wasn’t planning to do much in the room other than sleep, wake up and shower, it was fine. The bathroom is dated but there’s plenty of hot water, a reasonable shower, very good AC and despite the previous reviews I found the WiFi to be pretty good. The breakfast was varied and as expected at a 4 star hotel. Plenty of choice with juice, coffees and teas, cereals, sweet pastries and cakes, continental meats and cheeses, yoghurts, fresh fruits and limited cooked breakfast items. We stayed when the hotel was full and although the dining area was full, we never had to wait for a table. Serving up till 10am meant we could lie in too. The other hotel facilities we used was the gym. A reasonable place with 2 running machines, a static cycle, rowing machine, a multi-weights machine, bench, free weights, kettles, Swiss balls and mat. Well air conditioned, you needed to book (COVID restrictions) but we were always able to get a slot we wanted. There was an indoor pool, and spa circuit but it was so nice and hot outside, we never tried them. The other reviews seem to be positive about them. We never had dinner at the hotel either. Desenzano del Garda is a town at the lower West corner of Lake Garda. It has some upmarket shops but in general is a laid back place with lots of restaurants. Don’t expect trendy fashionista bars or nightclubs. It’s clearly fueled by tourism but again doesn’t feel overly crowded or intimidating. Just a nice compact place. It’s a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel to the town centre which was never a problem. The town has a rocky beach with lounger/shade hire, pedalos and beachside restaurants. |1.08km from city centerThe location of the hotel is in a passage on the street and irritated us in the first moment. But once we entered the hotel, the impression was very good, everything was newly decorated, very clean and friendly. The rooms are quiet, beautifully newly furnished and clean despite the central location. We had breakfast with it, this was served to us because of Covid19. Unfortunately, there was no table here, but only the depot area at the refrigerator, but we were perfectly enough. The breakfast can be made up on the day before and you just have to cross the amount of bread, marmelade, sauce, fruit etc. you want. Air conditioning is very good, TV program only Italian (is not important in holidays but), minibar filled and the prices here are absolutely OK. There are no clothes boxes, but there is a bar with clothes sticks. In the centre there are about 5-10 minutes walking. Parking facilities directly at the hotel.

|3.3km from city centerExcellent service. Lovely modern hotel. Thoughtful gift from the hotel of a bottle of Prosecco in our room to mark our wedding anniversary! The spa was a lovely addition. The breakfasts were the same each day, but the buffet was extensive so there was something for everyone. There are bicycles available to hire from the hotel, however, they need a careful check-over before you use them - we had to 'reject' several before we found a couple we were happy to use. The location of Rivotella is quiet, with just a few places to eat; the main area of Desenzano is about 45minute walk along the promenade. Would happily return to this hotel.

Unfortunately this hotel isn’t run by Italians so that’s where the charm vanishes. Run by some very rude and arrogant men it is strange and inhospitable. We definitely felt uncomfortable as two women friends. The breakfast buffet was poor with limited choice and they have a strange practice of leaving all the dirty crockery etc until the very end of the service period. So you sit surrounded by dirty plates on all the tables.

|0.86km from city centerHotel was clean and well laid out. Room we had -116- overlooked the rear. No decent view. Room compact but ok. Bathroom small and awkward. Shower cubicle very small. Breakfast good. Bed good. No kettle/hot drinks in room? Asked for kettle but was refused. Bar area nice but under-used. Pool small but welcome. Roof has excellent terrace with great views, seating, sun beds and jacuzzi. As mentioned by others, the matriarch is ever present. She did not acknowledge us on any occasion - not even a smile, or a ‘Buongiorno’. Shouted a lot at her staff. This was not detrimental to our stay however, as the other staff were friendly. Strangely you have to ask for the air-con to be switched on in the room? The hotel was a good 20 minute walk downhill to the lake and 25 mins back. Only 5 min walk from station. Would stay again.

|0.73km from city centerWe visited Villa Rosa initially for one night, before exploring the rest of Lake Garda. We liked it so much that we returned to our same room for the last night of our trip. Rooms are very clean and as we had a junior suite this also had great views of the lake. Reception staff are very friendly and helped make out visit even more special. Free WiFi throughout the hotel, limited free parking (lots of paid parking also available). The breakfast is something else. Lots a lots of choice, all of the highest quality. This can be takes in their lovely dining room with views over the lake.Villa Rosa is perfectly situated opposite a popular beach and is within easy walking to Dezenzano main square and ferries.
