While the property looked stupendous on the website and was recommended by a friend, the first interaction on the phone was a disappointment. We were looking for a suite room as adverstised on the website but learnt that it was still under construction. Our next choice of interconnecting rooms was not an option existing at the property. We then went for the next best thing, adjacent rooms. Checkin took too long which is where we got the first surprise, rates had changed since booking which meant that we ended up paying more than had budgeted. Rooms were spacious and well laid out expect for the column in the middle of one of our two rooms which indicated a bad design. Hiccups soon surfaced with the running hot water not being available due a failure of the solar water heaters at the property, for which we sympathised with the property dur to the incessant rains. The situation was rectified with buckets of water brought in by the housekeeping staff. Room service choices for breakfast were limited to south indian vegetarian staples of idli, dosa, poori etc but were nonetheless surprisingly well cooked and held up to a good standard than what one would come across in most other hotels in the malabar region which do not have the best vegetarian fare. Lunch with its combination of kerala and mughlai veg fare was very well done and presented a decent standard which again was better than one can hope for in most other hotels. Dinner with its mughlai flavors matched lunch. Suffice to say that while they may not have a great deal of choices, what they do have is done well. Sleep quality was good including bedding and the air conditioners were decent enough. A major design flaw in the rooms was the enclosed balcony which had the compressors of the rooms split ac blowing hot air thereby making it terribly hot. What logic possessed such a layout is beyond understanding. The bathtub in one of the rooms still had its installation plastic labels in place which was odd indeed. A towel rack in the same bathroom came apart during usage. Checkout was smooth and prompt. Over all a good stay but the people runnning the property should take care of the bits and pieces to retain guests.

The cottages are really nice and have a really good shed leading up from the back exit where you can spend time alone watching the sunrise/set or just introspect among nature. The in-house concierge has good contacts and can drive you up to interesting cultural events in the surrounding area, making the stay that much more valuable. The ayurveda doctor (Dr Akshay who also doubled up as our guide) is friendly, knowledgeable and good too (as told by my friends) as is the authentic Kerala massage therapy (which i tried). The property itself is quite a few kilometers from the main highway and airport transfers are about as expensive as a bangalore - kozhikode flight. The look and feel is slightly more resort-oriented (i.e. more commercial) than a natural surrounding but is good enough to get used to within a couple of days of staying. The one big downer is the slow service , there's very little appreciation of the fact that a guest fed well and on time is part of the whole experience. Menu is not fixed so you can order whatever you like (limited by the expertise of the cooks) and dishes are prepared well. It supposedly books out in advance so ask for cottage recommendations of your choice (eg on the periphery overlooking the fields and with a sun view) than going by whatever's offered. Ayurveda packages are available separately from the cottage rent so you can budget accordingly.

We had our family reunion here for two days and thoroughly enjoyed it. Wonderful property with abundant opportunity for entertainment. Food was good, though we had limited options due to budget constraints. Julie and her team was very helpful at the restaurant. Sad to see the resort is not earning out of out points, ***agement should work towards it. I suggest It is important to invest in delighting customer in hand first to attract new customers.

the Muzhapilangad beach which stretches across four kilometres of sand is a drive-in beach where one can drive down the entire length. Calm and serene, the place is secluded and remains unexplored. Black rocks protect this long, clean beach from the currents of the deep, making its shallow waters a swimmers paradise. There is an unpaved road winding through coconut groves, leading to the beach. To the South and about 200 metres away from the beach there is a beautiful island called the "Green Island" which adds to the allure of the beach. Such a conjunction of beach and island is rare....

Good location - on the beach. But very far from the beginning of Payyambalam beach. The facilities of the hotel are run down. The fixtures of the bathrooms are not well maintained. The jet spray is leaking in my room. The toiletries provided are very minimal (e.g. same tiny soap bar to wash hands as to take bath) They claim to have WiFi - but it does not reach the rooms. That is sad - even more so because the mobile signal strength inside the rooms is often zero (no 3G or 4G most often). The building of the hotel is a block - with no grounds. Thus there is no place to relax around the place, other than a tiny balcony on the first floor. I would not recommend this place, unless it is significantly cheaper than any other option available. ----- Updated: The hotel staff keep the room key back when I am going out, but they do not tidy up the room. And I informed the staff that there is a leaky jet spray in the bathroom, which needs to be replaced (jet sprays are probably one of the simplest things to replace in a bathroom - can even be done without tools). But on coming back at night, I find that it's still not replaced. Very disappointing. Downgrading from 3 to 2. ---- Updated on 3rd day of stay: the hotel staff didn't do up the room up again, even with the keys being there, and with clear instructions. There is not a morsel of food available in the hotel. Not even some snacks, or even cold drinks. Only water bottles are available. And none of the staff speak English or Hindi. The AC's remote control doesn't work, even though the AC works - so no way of adjusting the flow or increase the temperature or fan speed. And yes - the jet spray is still not fixed. Overall, it is a terrible experience. Downgrading to 1.

Situated in the heart of the city, the hotel wins your heart in a go with their pleasant staff & cleanliness. We felt very positive & valued from the start to the end. Free Wi-FI, newspaper, water bottles and toiletries make you feel at home. Rooms & bathrooms are spacious & super clean. Balcony view is another add-on. We tried food room service too, & within 20min yummy veg pakoras were served. We stayed for 4-5 days & will carry the wonderful experience forever!

We enjoyed a wonderful week here, eating the best food ever, lovingly prepared by kind and caring people. We had a huge bedroom and bathroom facing the sea and per***ently deserted beach. We went to sleep with the sounds of waves crashing and birds chirupping, so relaxing. When not eating or swimming in the warm sea, trips via taxi or tut tut were arranged for us and fares confirmed. We visited the fort, the lighthouse, the weavers and the local town. If you are looking for a breathtakingly beautiful place to stay, where you will receive the highest level of care and kindness, Chera Rocks is for you. Thank you to everyone there for making our stay so perfect.

The guest house is located exactly 2 minutes walking distance away from the sea. We booked 2 ac rooms so got entire 2nd floor and a big terrace. this house is not sea facing but from terrace you can get a partial view of the sea. The rooms and bathrooms were clean, the AC worked nicely. 24 hour hot water supply is available. They never promised to provide tea coffee or room service in their ad so if you are expecting it, its your fault. Please remember this is not a hotel but a home stay. Communication with the owner is a little problem as he does not understand anything other than Malayalam. But he gave us his daughter's phn no and she is fluent in English and she sorted out everything for us. The house has an adjacent restaurant that opens at 6.30 in the morning and closes at 4pm. It serves you Typical Malayali breakfast and lunch (basic and home style) but at an unimaginable cheap rate (nonveg lunch for 3 costed me Rs 150). their coffee is a must try. For dinner we had to go approx 700-800 mtr (easy walkable distance) away ***** the sea side which had some nice hotels and restaurants. The house owner provided boiled drinking water/ Milk for my 3 year old. The next day I didnot want oily and spicy food from out side for my child. We requested the house owner if we can make rice in his kitchen, In response he arranged home cooked dinner for our entire family. He never charged any money for all these food and milk. We had our train from kannur at odd hour and they helped us with the auto booking and luggage. More than the place it was the people I liked there. Such nice and helpful host.

I visited this hotel in the month of May, it was a pleasant hotel right in the heart of the Kannur city. The hospitality and the services they provided is what made my stay in Kannur so heartwarming. The staffs are well behaved and polite esp; Mr.Prathyood was very helpful in providing suggestions about tourists spots around Kannur and arrangements of cabs and all other services was provided at a very cheap rate. The room service was also wonderful and the rooms were so clean. This hotel was so couple-friendly too.

Our trip to Kannur was for a marriage as Bride was from Punjab and Groom was from Kannur. Punjabi people was less though. But we enjoyed two days of big wedding and reception. Should say Kannur people..The entire district are so hospitable and cooperative to understand treat us very well. This i dint find any where in our country. As being a business *** i travel to ***y parts of India. And to Kerala i have travelled to Kochi ***y times and for family tour i have being to Kumarakom , Munnar and Kovalam. We actually extended for three more days to visit Kannur tourism place. We really enjoyed, temple vist- Rajarajeshwara, Thrichambaram, Mrithangashaileshwari , Muthapanu, Annapoorneshwari in Cherukunnuu and Peralassery temple we actually coudnt go in a stretch as we had less days, but will come back as we are yet to visit other tourist places, like hill stations of Kannur, Rustic beaches, water falls etc... Our hotel stay was very good , good food and friendly staff. As we were out of town for most of the time. Coming April we are scheduling a 5 day vacation in Kannur so we can see bekal and ashrams as well. The hotel will be Royal Omars for sure

I stayed as a single traveller for 10 nights. The hotel is situated in a very quiet military area of Kannur, approx 20 minutes walk from town. The hotel is not a beach area but overlooks a rocky promenade, which I felt was very atmospheric. Main beach was approx 20-30 minutes walk. The staff in hotel were very friendly and helpful and have no complaints staff wise. Room was kept clean and well maintained by the housekeeping staff. I agree that some aspects of the hotel were dated but made up for it with character. Breakfast was adequate with cereals, toast and eggs to order. All in all a good mid range hotel within easy reach of town centre. I would not hesitate to stay again if I have further visits to Kannur.

Beware of this shady hotel!! My gold & money was stolen from room 311 while I was asleep in the room around midnight on 20/11/19. I've lodged an FIR in Kannur Town Police Station. ISSUES: Damp, smelly & unsafe rooms. Cameras in the gallery DO NOT work. High tarrifs. AC not effective. Dirty linen & towel. Phone in the room do not work. Suffocating tiny lifts. What makes things WORSE – Rude & unsympathetic hotel staff didn't even feel sorry or visit the Police Station with us for reporting the case (after all the robbery took place on their property). In fact, the cunning, arrogant & non-courteous staff that tries to THREATEN me. Icing on the cake: I confronted the MD to discuss the issues, he was only interested in his money. In fact, he tried to offer 50% discount on stay if I removed the online review (from Goibibo). I’d already paid advance Rs.5000 & lost gold + cash worth much more than that, why would I remove the review? I want the whole world to know this is the most unsafe place to spend a night. Had I seen the place before, I’d never had made this mistake of booking this. I haven't seen a worse hotel than this having traveled frequently to various places and stayed at various hotels. If there was an award for the worst Hotel, hands down, they’ll win it!

Visited the BN on a pre-booked and pre-paid arrangements for 2 double rooms...but their records were not updated. The frontdesk were clueless and went about a rebooking....instead of actually checking out about the pre-booked and pre-paid transaction. Ended up booking again and a loss of one hour waiting in the lobby with family. If their records were in place..we would have been saved the bother. The refunds are done only in Cash and that needs to be collected in person by the one who has done the pre-booking. How inconvenient!!! But the stay was good and the Suite we booked was decent. There was no cleaning OR changes to the towels on our checkout day though we were to checkout at 7pm. The area near the lifts were smelling or stinking of cigarette smoke and liquor smell due to the presence of a bar adjacent to the lift entry. That was a poor placement for a bar when families wait for the only lift to come when called for. Breakfast spread was standard and I believe even smaller decent hotels have a good spread. Continental stuff was missing and the Indian stiff was very standard and no variety day on day. The refills were just not coming inspite of reminders to the attendants. Some positives were being asked for any special requirements during breakfast. Checkout was smooth. Overall..it was good. But can definitely be much better and give the customer a wow experience. It is possible.

I booked a night at this hotel for July 8 mainly because the wedding I was attending was in a hall by the hotel. The hotel rooms are badly maintained. I got the same opinion from other family members who stayed in other rooms in the hotel. In my room, the bathroom shower and the toilet seats were broken. There was no sign of any housekeeping staff and looks like the bed sheets and pillow covers were not changed after previous customer. Not sure when they get washed if at all get washed. There was no hot water available in the bathroom. Only one towel per bed in the room and possibly not being washed. The host of the wedding indicated the hotel was under a new ***agement and they were expecting good service. But looks like the hotel condition deteriorated after the recent ***agement change. If anyone looking for hotel in the area, there are other better maintained hotels with similar or slightly higher price based on opinion I got from other family members who did not stay at this hotel.

The hotel is very new, the hardware facilities are very good, the service is very good, there is a welcome juice when you go to check-in. But the location is a bit off, it takes ten minutes to walk to the beach, and the airport comes to the taxi for an hour and a half. Hotel catering is mainly for Indians, and there is basically no international taste. There are so many restaurants around, you can eat steaks in all tastes, the price is not expensive, and the taxes are few.

Ours was a fantastic stay, amidst COVID-19 clouds we were given utmost care and attention at the Hyatt Centric, Candolim. Two important things of a hotel stay - Room Comfort & Food, here I would give this hotel 11 out of 10. Efforts of Vivek & Tezab the Housekeeping and FnB bosses, were outstanding! Right from the moment we entered the premises, to each meal wether in room or at the restaurant, the room-stay (provision of requisites as well as going into all details of comfort) and till we finally completed our four nights stay, me & my family were pampered continually. Special Mentions:- 1. Komal at the all day dining restaurant. She sets the bar for 'Service with a Smile', what an asset for the hotel! 2. Hygine Standards maintained in general as well as during the 'Pandemic' deserved an applaude for sure. Provisions for sanitisation were immaculate. 3. General Courtesies extended by the entire hotel staff to the guests was much above the marks, always. Thanks so much Hyatt for this experience.

The room is not very big, but it is clean and warm, with a small balcony. I lived there on the New Year's Day, so it is too expensive. It takes about 15 minutes to walk from the beach. The beach is beautiful, but there is a lot of rubbish. Many of the people staying there are the Europeans and Americans. The breakfast is not rich, but it is ok.

Please don't spoil your vacation by staying in this hotel. 1st Incident After visiting they don't provided my booked category room and asked will change tomorrow. Next day, i left for south goa at 11 AM , till the time no reminder given by resort person , when i was 40 KM away from resort around 2 PM , they called me and asked to come back now only for changing room . It was really very difficult for me to come back when was so far from resort, i asked will come by 6 PM to change it but they denied and forced me to come now only. They even mis-behaved with me when i denied to come back immediately and blamed me . I had booked my package through Yatra.com. if booked directly don’t know how much more mental torture will have to face. 2nd Incident : They provided me non-working condition heating Mug . when i asked to check it , came after 30 minutes to check it. Not repaired and asked will provided tomorrow as don't have in spare. When i said will give wrong Feedback online , then don’t know from where provided so quickly. Means they are Lying earlier. 3rd Incident : The Tata sky account was de-activated , i asked to get it activate so that i could watch TV , they said will do it soon . I did not take follow up over it on same day so it's not done on 2nd day when I powered on TV . 2nd day person said will do tomorrow only since it 11 PM now . 4th Incident : The Bedsheet was smelling and they did not change it for 2 days Indeed. if u stay here ...u will have to follow up multiple times to get things done. you will pay for service and at last will have beg for service.

On the last day of leaving the Kyriad resort, we felt that we are leaving another home in the resort. Staying 4 days at the resort with family is really a nice and peaceful experience. The resort has given us the family atmosphere and such a kind staff supports every need of the family. All the staff of the resort are always as standby to make hassle-free to us at the resort. The water pool is very convenient for children who even below 15 age and they play in the pool without any worry from keeping watch on them while they are in the pool. The lobby and passage of the resort are very attractive and make us feel so enjoyable. As I said, my family has also loved this resort as getting experience like home. Even, the location of the resort is a very familiar area from which you can reach Calangute beach, market and restaurant by a short walk. The staff of resorts have given very warms welcomed to us on arriving. Really, it is an unforgettable stay experience at this resort for me and my entire family members. I am definitely recommended this resort to my friends and relatives to enjoy the holiday at Goa with family.

Taxis are outside the hotel, bigger shops are in walking distance from the hotel. Buffet breakfast was lovely & pool was terrific..But at last day on checking out of the hotel have booked a Car for dropping me until the Panjim Bus stand but the car drive was very rude and he drooped us at wrong location just to save is fuel and we had to almost drag our luggage to the proper bus stand for almost half a kilometer. And also came to know that this cab i booked are private taxi's owned by individual person and they get fixed amount from the Hotel guys for drop and pick up that the reason they just drop us at wrong location and run away.

We’re just back from a two week stay at the SoMy Hotel!... Hotel reception staff!... check-in was very swift and the reception staff were always very helpful throughout our stay! The room!... our room was lovely and spacious with a firm comfortable bed and obviously it had the usual air-conditioning but also had an additional ceiling fan. The walk in shower came complete with a wonderfully refreshing high fan shower head. Room cleaning!... the staff always carried out a first class job in cleaning the room and leave two bottles of free mineral water each day + the usual replenishing of tea/coffee and they also left some very imaginary towel orrogarmy The buffet breakfast/restaurant area!... the breakfast area was just perfect, with the chef cooking up turkey sausages and omelettes, with extra ingredients added on request... plus there are numerous hot and cold dishes to choose from at the buffet area, both Indian and European! All the restaurant staff were so friendly and helpful, with a special thank you to the restaurant ***ager Vivian, one couldn’t want to meet a nicer chap, he’s a real asset to the hotel and also Abhijeet (Bobby) again!.. an absolute lovely friendly fella Swimming pool!... the pool was always a nice treat at the end of a beach day and there were aways spare sun beds in shaded areas + lots of umbrellas for additional shade, a must in the Goan sunshine ☀️ Location!... location is very central... ideally placed in Calangute, just back from the main town. The beach is around a 10 minute walk from the hotel, you cross the rd from the hotel gates and keep walking straight until you see the sign to the Chelsea shack, follow that and you’ll find a lovely beach There are numerous restaurants and bars in walking distance of the hotel, or if you fancy a far more livelier beach or night out, it’s a 15 minute walk into the main town of Calangute... or 5 minute ride by tuktuk, a tuktuk costs 100R= roughly £1 or £2 by taxi!! My tip!... don’t worry about bringing rupiahs with you, as we didn’t!!... changing money couldn’t be easier as directly across the rd from the hotel is a cash point/machine with its very own security guard outside as the machine is inside a little room, we drew out 10.000R each time, about £100... Though on arrival do take some loose change with you £/€1 coins or $ bills for the airport and hotel baggage attendants... as it’s a charge of £1 per case/bag!! So yes!!... we had a lovely stay at this hotel, the whole trip was a very different summer sun break/adventure... we’ll definitely be back and would absolutely recommend the SoMy hotel Resort in Calangute

Let me tell you we have been to Azzure multiple times and few things that remain as memories we cherish are: It's like a 1.5 Rooms in Junior Suites which served our purpose since we were three Friends traveling It's Junior Suites have a Balcony where we could enjoy our Tea and Free time They have some Amazing Food, whatever we have eaten there turned out to be Delicious, be it Room Service or Dine in Their wifi works absolutely fine and is accessible to all places The scooty and car is available closeby though they charge bomb hence must negotiate Their Pool is clean and cocktails at the Pool as well as Snacks are lipsmacking Few things they could improve upon: Car Park is ample but is an issue when Hotel fully occupied since you must be a skillful driver not to scratch your car Had to repeat multiple times for Room Cleaning yet wasn't done Their Billing takes ages hence you must inform 2-3 hours before check out if you want to be tension free about checking your flight While the Food was Amazing, their Tea used to be cold most times and at times was reheated Like I said, we have been there multiple times but would be apprehensive vising next time.. hopefully they would do well for us to return again..
