I wish I could give this hotel a 5/5 review, but even though I don’t, I’d still recommend staying here. On the positive side, the reception desk staffer was friendly and polite. The room we stayed in was clean. The dining area looked spacious and welcoming. And then, things just started to go wrong. After a 9 hour day of driving, we were hot and tired (as most travelers are.) I went up to my room, opened the door and it was obvious that a guest was still using the room. Suitcases were visible and other signs of occupancy. I went back downstairs and told the receptionist. She was visibly flustered and it took about 10 minutes or so for her to resolve this issue and offer me another room.Perhaps she is a new employee because the room issue was resolved when a housekeeping staffer arrived and helped her determine what to do. I went back upstairs, and the key would not open the door. I went back downstairs and she apologized and fixed the key. All those small issues combined were exasperating, but the staff was pleasant and the hotel seemed clean and well taken care of. I’d still recommend it.

Absolutely loved staying here! stayed on a Thursday to Sunday. Prices were excellent. We have always taken our Lysol Spray disinfectant and Clorox wipes and cleaner with us whenever we have to stay in a hotel. We wipe down everything, I mean, everything your fingers or hands can touch. Not one spec of dirt was on any of the cloths used. I even wash all the flooring...not one trace of dirt or discoloration came back on my cloths. My compliments to the housekeeping staff!! Especially during these "Covid" times. Front desk staff on every shift dressed nicely and were very polite and helpful. This hotel used to be the Tribune Star ...great character. It was booked fully on Friday and Saturday, but you would have never known it. So very quiet. Location is great. Easy walks to Clabber Girl, some ISU building and Shine , Masonic halls. The Childrens Museum is right next door. Also...Square Donuts is a 2 block walk. Gotta go there every time you visit Terre Haute! Soooo good. Very highly recommended...

Overall this was a great trip. The hotel was very accommodating and every way. Clean, good food, safe environment. I would stay here again with my family or on a business trip. The hotel had a great breakfast setup almost back to the way we had them at all Hilton Garden Inn hotels in the past.

Our room had obviously been remodeled (nice) EXCEPT for the bathroom light - which was yellowed plastic and buggy. Why would you remodel everything but the light? Everything else was clean and nice , beds were comfortable - but dead bugs in the light. Breakfast just missed being good - i.e. the "hot water" container must have held coffee recently and not been cleaned well. My hot tea tasted like coffee (a deal breaker for me). The halls were noisy - guests shouting from one end of the hall to the other after 11 PM. ("do you need that suitcase from the car? No, just the blue one. Are you sure? I thought you needed the grey one too. Didn't you say the grey one had...."). This was on the first floor, right next to the front desk, so the desk clerk could have stepped out and asked them to quiet down a bit (but that didn't happen- even though the shouting happened several times). And our room had a connecting door to the next room (which would be good for a family), but there was a one inch gap at the bottom which allowed all conversations from the next room to be heard in our room. The hotel wasn't full. Not sure why they put people in the next room in that situation.

New hotel, so as expected it was very nice, clean and comfortable, modern feel with higher than normal ceilings in rooms. Standard room had microwave ans refrigerator. Conveniently located at I-70 and and US 41, adjacent to cracker barrel. Complimentary hot coffee in the lobby all day, and was still fresh when I got some late afternoon. The only complaint would be that they ran out of biscuits at 730 am. Also gravy was not properly heated up. (But they had other options, waffles were great.) Otherwise, its a great hotel. I hope it stays that way.

It was a big room and the bed was neatly made but the sheets were stained and the furniture was falling apart. We ended up driving home and not spending the night and just being out the 60 dollars we paid for the night. I did check the bed and there were no bed bugs or roaches in the room.

My family was driving from Kansas City to Cleveland overnight and we stopped here in the middle of our drive to crash overnight. We stayed in King Suite w/Sofabed room 115. It was about 1:39AM when we checked in so unfortunately I didn’t think to check the room for signs of bed bugs before we went to sleep. My husband and I slept in the king bed and my daughter slept in the Sofabed. Luckily we only stayed 5 hours. In the morning, my husband showered and draped his towel at the foot of the bed while I showered. When I was finished he threw his towel in the bathtub. When I went to throw my towel in the bathtub I see this large adult bedbug crawling across the towel. See picture. Needless to say we were disgusted and promptly gathered our things and checked out. I notified the attendant at the front desk and showed him the photo attached. I asked him to have the manager call me and asked them to comp my stay since I now have to spend double the cost to take all the precautions to make sure no bed bugs from their hotel decided to attach themselves to my family or belongings. I was told the attendant could only give me $25 off my stay but that the manager “was expected to be in anytime now” and I “should receive a call in a few hours”. I gave a cell phone number in addition to the number on my rewards account. I checked out 10 hours ago and the manager had yet to call me on either line. I am sure this carelessness on the management’s part is the reason why the bed bugs are there in the first place. The room looked like it had not been rented in a few weeks (it was a little dusty and musty smell). The cleanliness level was mediocre at best. In fact I probably would not have taken the time to write this review if I would have received the courtesy call, some assurance they would take care of the problem and full comp of my room like I asked for.

We were traveling when we ran into the storm of the year. We decided to get off the Interstate 70 W. We were going to go to another Hotel , but decided to stay at the Holiday Inn. We were meet with a friendly staff. They gave us a good rate and let us go into our room early. The room was clean and up to date. We ended staying for two nights because of weather issues. We needed an e-note printed from our IPhone and the front desk printed for us. Not sure if we will ever be here again, but We would stay here. Breakfast is provided and it was ok. There is a Restaurant attached to the Hotel and it is very good. They give a discount for guests.

By far, this was the dirtiest room we have ever encountered at any motel. It was obvious that the tile floor in the entry and bathroom had not been washed in some time. We hade to lay towels down so our feet wouldn't touch the floor after our shower and they were black when we picked them up. The room smelled and everyone kept propping the exit door open when they went outside to smoke so the hallway always smelled like cigarettes. The furniture and bedspread looked like it came from a flea market and had cigarette burns. The seal in the toilet tank leaked so the toilet ran constantly. We shut the door so we couldn't hear that but the noise out in the hallway from people was non stop all night. The property seemed very unsafe and was extremely dirty. We wanted to find another place but it was late and we had traveled for many hours. We carefully inspected the bedding and although old, we could tell it had been washed so we sucked it up for our last night on the road after a long cross country trip. We almost always stay at a Wyndam Hotel so we were shocked to find one in this condition.
