As my first trip to Kota Kinabalu, my aunt had booked a room here at this hotel as she arrived here first. Since I was coming to visit, she had requested for a bigger room and asked if they had a discount if she upgraded. Unfortunately no. So I had met up with my family a few days later late at night from another trip with friends. My first impression was this hotel was located in a dank looking mall. Furthermore, upon getting ready for bed, the sheets were gross and stained, the pillows were yellow and ants were climbing on the wall where my tiny twin sized bed was up against. I literally could not sleep as some got onto the bed sheets, mind you its almost 1am. The next morning, I found a few ants climbing on my suit case as well. Being disgusted by this, I insist we move out immediately. I had gone online and booked a nicer room at the Ming Garden. We tried to get a refund since my aunt had pre-paid in advance for the nights I was visiting. They would not do anything for us, they said if there were bugs to call room service. Honestly, I don't think they would understand this but when there are ant's, MORE will come. And what? You're gonna have the maid spray RAID next to my bed at 2am? That smell of bug spray probably isn't good to inhale. They looked at us like we were being too much or too extra but honestly, we're from the USA and I haven't stayed in such an unsanitary hotel before. Not even in the Philippines. What is really frustrating is they wouldn't give my aunt a refund. They could only offer her credit to stay at a later date. This would never fly or be alright in the USA. Very disappointing in the service. Just beware! This was terrible service in my honest opinion and the Ants! I had to check everything in the new hotel as some ants got into my suitcase. DISGUSTING. BEWARE. DON'T STAY HERE. Photos are also false advertising of the deluxe room. The walls were cracking, the floors were warping....just beware.

Stayed here for 2 nights - first on Feb 4, 2019, and then again on Feb 6, 2019. This establishment is in a perfect location right across from Centre Point Sabah, and also a stone's throw from the infamous night market*. Concierge was welcoming, courteous, and very friendly. Security was pretty sound; main entrance is locked after 2100 hours and the only way to get in is for hotel guests to tap their room cards on the reader by the front entrance. WiFi here, which seems to be floor-specific, was strong. Note that no food is provided here and this is no biggie as there are a ton of eateries around, some even operating 24 hours. For the Feb 4 stay, I was housed in Room 305 on L3 - a single room along the side street facing north-northeast. Room came with a clean comfy bed, good aircon, cold mini-fridge, wall-mounted tv, a kettle, and a full-length mirror. It also had 4 power outlets in total - 1 in bathroom and 3 in room itself. Only downside to this room is the malfunctioning hot shower (spurts only old water) + low-pressure shower head. One other thing though, it can get just a tad noisy from the traffic outside so if you're a light sleeper, bring ear-plugs. As for Feb 6, I was exhausted upon returning from Mount Kinabalu trek at sometime between 1900 ~ 2000 hours for my follow-up stay at this establishment only to learn that I made a booboo in my online booking; have booked a single room for Feb 7 instead of Feb 6. The concierge team, however, was exceedingly kind and gracious. They offered to let me in by accepting my booking as a Feb 6 pre-book. And when they learnt that all single rooms were fully booked for the night, they gave me a complimentary upgrade to a queen room, room 313. I was so very relieved to just have a bed to crash into deep slumber as I was completely knackered from the summit hike and was desperate for some serious shut-eye. This room, while also on L3, sits directly across from Centre Point KK's main entrance. I actually thought it's quieter here than the side-facing single room I was in 2 night ago, or maybe it was because I was dead to the world in deep slumber throughout the evening. The duvet worked fine for me but on hindsight, it seemed a tad smaller than I thought it should be for 2 pax on a queen bedder. Room 313 was nice with the same standard outfits such as a clean comfy bed, good aircon, mini-fridge (though not so cold), a wall-mounted tv, a kettle, and a decent ensuite. Hot water shower, my first here in KK, was an absolute joy and it came with good water pressure. What's interesting is that I couldn't locate any power outlet throughout this room; have had to dislodge the power plug of the floor lamp just so I could use the power socket to charge my devices. Nonetheless, would I return for another stay? No doubt. *Side note: Have to try the fresh seafood which came with absolutely delish homemade belachan dip!

The price is still very cost-effective, stayed for three nights, one of them was a bit noisy at night, the other two days were very quiet, there was almost no one in the living room during the day, only the front desk brother, I was comfortable. Sitting and drinking coffee to watch the sunset. Many people say that the bathroom is small, I think it is okay, compared to the size of the Japanese bathroom is really ok; there is no toilet paper, toiletries must also be prepared by themselves, there is a hair dryer. There is a chest of luggage in the room, and a 20-inch suitcase can be put in. It is convenient to have a socket in the cabin, just like a TV can't be used. There is a row of clothes racks in the room. For many days, you can take the clothes out and hang them. Toast and coffee, jam and peanut butter are served for breakfast, which is fine for me. Close to the Philippine market and the central vegetable market, it is suitable for visiting the vegetable market. It is a bit of a road away from Jiaya Street. It is a bit tired every day. In short, it is very suitable for one person to live alone, it is suitable for ten days and a half months of emptying, because it is cheap... During the period, I also saw Korean girls taking their parents to stay, a little surprised...

Decided to try this capsule since I was travelling alone + had great experience staying capsule hotels throughout Japan. Good location, rather central, Starbucks & convenience store just downstairs. Paid an average of just S$11 per night, great value considering breakfast is included, though a simple one with bread/ jam spreads/ instant coffee. Washing machine free to use, but your clothes are never really dry since its cramped together with someone else’s wet laundry next morning. The capsules themselves are made from cheap plastic, squeaks loudly every time you move, absolutely nothing like those I stayed througouht Japan, plus the blue themed lights made it even harder to sleep. Wi-fi signal is pretty bad from within the capsule. Spent 3 nights here before moving to the newly built 5-star Marriott across the street.

We originally were booked for one night, but extended our stay. So happy we found this fantastic hostel. It's really modern with new facilities, perfectly clean, breakfast and food provided, good kitchen facilties and a lounge with Netflix! The staff are super friendly and helpful. We were stuck during the coronavirus outbreak and they allowed us to stay on longer, saving us from being homeless when everything was shutting down. Can't thank them enough. The hostel is separated across three areas of the shopping centre, so not all rooms have views of the sea, but they're all good rooms regardless.

Let me start by saying we paid 45 USD per night for this hotel. I know that is not so expensive, but for 50 USD, you expect a lot more than what we got. We stayed there the night before, and the night after, our Mt Kinabalu hike. The first night was okay - despite a lengthy check-in process and the fact that our room had no windows (the A/C worked fine). However, after we came back from our hike, we paid an extra 12 dollars (!!!) so we could at least have a window. Still all fine. However, being extremely sleep deprived we fell fast asleep at 8pm, only to be woken up at 10pm by someone RINGING THE DOORBELL to our room and I don't even know why a hotel room would have a doorbell. We didn't even begin to care why staff would ring our doorbell at that time and luckily we fell right back asleep. When we woke up we realized they had also slipped a note under our door saying the pump had broken and there was no water. That's it. No bucket, no 'would you like to get the heck out of here', no nothing. Thus, I went downstairs and begged for a bucket at least (you would think they would have brought this immediately - I'm actually no stranger to staying in places without running water). The guy then offered me some nasty bucket from the lobby bathroom that had been sitting next to the toilet. No thanks. He then told me to be patient, and two hours later, a small bucket was brought to our room. Thanks, we are checking out now. For this inconvenience, they refunded the 12 extra USD we had paid to upgrade to a window. Wow, thanks a lot. For a hotel room with NO WATER meaning we could not shower nor use the bathroom nor even wash our hands, one should at least be given a free stay (or a voucher or something). In the end we ended up being charged 45 USD for a hotel room with no water. Completely unacceptable.

Smells of damp. Had to exit hotel to get to the lift which is a bit weird. The location is good though and easy to get to some bars and restaurants on the waterfront. Wouldn't stay there again. A bit grotty.

Aircon and TV works; bedding is clean. Location is very central; the place itself takes a bit of searching, but it's on the third floor of the complex near Storytel. It's a little run down with wafts of dampness, but largely functional. Twin room for RM89 seems fair enough.

The hotel is relatively far from the city; this hotel is suitable for a hotel. The garden is large and beautiful; we went to the Spring Festival because there were not many people during the epidemic, and the sunset on the beach was invincible. The children either dunked in the pool or on the beach every day; breakfast was rich and there were many varieties; we stayed Four nights, there are new dishes every day; the burger kids in the Western restaurant also love to eat; you can order meals to the room; and it is very cost-effective to save service fees. We upgraded the OceanWing room; on the first floor, the child walked a few steps from the room to the garden.

The hotel is not in the most prosperous location in the city of Kota Kinabalu, but it is very close, so it is quiet and quiet. You can walk to the durian market under the overpass and Gaya Street for more than ten minutes. The hotel is not big but clean and tidy. Towels ca n’t be taken outside the hotel. Towels can be rented from the swimming pool, which is a little inconvenient. Check-in and check-out at the hotel front desk were very fast, I did not see any Chinese-speaking staff. The room where I stayed could see a little sea view. The hotel's breakfast room had a good sea view. After checking in on the first day, due to the second day of departure to go to the round island, the departure time was 7 am. However, the hotel's breakfast is served from 6 o'clock. We did not agree to the requirement of packed breakfast. We went for breakfast at 6 o'clock and ate a little. However, the hotel's breakfast is very hearty. Fortunately, we stayed for two nights and then tasted the hotel's breakfast. It was really not worse than a five-star hotel, and there were many types that were changed every day. The room was spacious and nice. It is a relatively cost-effective hotel, and the location is also very good. This hotel is closest to the departure pier to the round island, so we were picked up in the end and it was not in a hurry. Very willing to recommend to friends who are going to Kota Kinabalu for a hotel in the city.

The hotel location is very good, close to gaya street, to the airport, business district, landmarks, and the sea are very close. The hotel is backed by a mountain, so it won't be messy outside. Hygiene, it is good locally, but there are problems with the sewers throughout Malaysia. I can smell the smell of sewers on the streets in several cities. Breakfast at the hotel is very good, close to domestic Samsung, quasi-four-star hotel level. Hotel facilities are relatively complete. The only thing that was not good was the sound insulation of the windowless room. The people in the next room could hear the cough, and I could hear the words. I stayed one night and changed the room the next day.

The entire hotel is similar to a large resort; the suites that live there; downstairs is the pier for island hopping, hopping on an island and playing underwater strolls and snorkeling; it feels better to be fun in the hotel; I read a lot of comments that the beach of the hotel is very small, it is because the entire hotel is filled with artificial stones to fill the beach; but I feel more clean and tidy; The overall value for money is very good; the rooms are large, the two balcony + two toilets also have bathtubs and cloakroom shower rooms; The holiday is very laid back and comfortable. The house is near the sea so it must be slightly musty. I feel that the hygiene management of the guest room department is separate from the front desk. When I leave, I leak the computer bag into the hotel drawer, there is a usb in it; the email cannot be sent; the phone call says no Just lived in and said that the smell must be great. I wanted to change rooms. Room service has room for improvement
