0.09km from New Shanghai MidosujiWe stayed at the hotel and had a good experience. The hotel is a 5 minute walk to a train station, 3-4 minute walk to the high street for shopping and if you’re looking for a landmark, it’s a 30 second walk from Starbucks opposite the McLaren car shop. Here are the highlights: The good: - There’s a nice lobby to relax in with views across the city as reception is on the 16th floor. - There’s no concierge, so you pretty much need to use reception or have google be your friend. - The bar on the floor has a nice view and extensive wine list. Having said that, service at the bar was terrible. The barman was extremely moody. - They offer a late checkout for around 15:00 at a cost of approximately 25% of your per night booking charge. The not so good: - The entrance is very dark and you need to walk off the road to see the entrance. It’s an unwelcoming feeling. - The other hotels under the same group gives you the handheld mobile to take around and this wasn’t the case with this hotel. - The rooms are smaller than normal and not very functional. As an example, there’ve made place to store your bags, but you can’t open your bag there as the shelf is too small. We needed to leave our bags on the floor. - English was a big struggle at this hotel for some reason. We were super happy when we saw the English speaking receptionist for information. - We had an issue with our flight and we went to reception to ask for assistance. Before making the call for us, they wanted to charge us for a local call. That’s the first time that we were told that we’ve experience being charged by the hotel for local calls. - There’s a tiny gym (2 bikes and a treadmill) but the hours is super limiting and closes at 21:00. We may go back as it’s ok value for money.
