Tho this is a 3 1/2 star hotel imo, it gets 4 for a few reasons. The neighborhood is very good. We stay in SF six or more times a year-Union Square, Market, the Tenderloin, all have a multitude of issues with sanitation, panhandlers etc. There is none of that here (too far from the action, so to speak) The rooms have been remodeled-our bathroom seemed to be brand new. Microwave, refrigerator, satellite TV and really comfortable bed. There’s FREE parking y’all. Parking usually runs us $60+ a night plus the room. There’s free WiFi-we take that for granted too-even some upscale hotels charge $12 for WiFi. There’s a nice coffee bar half a block up and another restaurant the other way. Could the proprietors pay more attention to the overflowing trash can or the dusty baseboards or the dated maple furniture? Of course. The two important areas, the bed & the bathroom, are just fine and maybe people need to get over themselves. Or go ahead, pay $400 a night plus parking somewhere closer to the city center but remember, watch your step.

Driving through San Francisco in my way home I decided to stay at Stanyan Park for the night. I found the hotel clean, the room was basic in terms of amenities but nice enough, and the location was perfect. The front desk staff were all amazing at all points of contact; during and after my stay. I left my toiletry bag in the bathroom and didn’t discover this until I arrived home in San Diego. I panicked, my toiletry bag had several medications that were not only VERY expensive, but mediation that MUST be taken daily. I immediately called the hotel and they informed me that it was located and that once I arranged for shipping they would send it out right away. Of course I arranged with Fedex for shipping, confirmed with the desk agent that she had received the shipping label and was told it would be sent right away. The next day I noticed that the packages had not been received by Fedex yet, so I called the hotel again and was told the GM had taken it home with him and was dropping it off to be shipped. Over the next 3 days I waited for it to arrive per my email, but Fedex hadn’t actually received the package yet. I called on Monday morning asking to speak with the GM, who was not in yet. I again pressed the urgency of the issue about getting my bag. I went as far as having to say “this is my health and should not be treated so casually”. It wasn’t until that phone call that the GM then took my bag to Fedex...adding another 3 days to my wait. I NEVER received a call from the GM, and have only received an apology from the desk agents. I am a hotel GM and have been for many years (Marriott properties and a luxury resort) and I’m honestly blown away by his lack of urgency and follow through. All he needed to do was drop the package off. Instead I had to call 2 times to get it done and then borrow medication from friends to get by until it arrives. The desk staff are the only reason this isn’t a 1 start review. Seriously poor leadership.

I stayed here years ago and it was very bad. I was very surprised this time. They cleaned the rooms up and all the bedding, towels were new. The service was wonderful and helpful. The only problem is the location because of drug users but that is NOT the hotel's fault.

We stayed at Geary Parkway while visiting San Francisco on a motorcycle ride. The hotel was great and conveniently located to the Golden Gate Bridge. However, the best part was the manager Henry and his customer service. We unknowingly dropped our bike key and didn't realize it until 300 miles later when we stopped for gas and couldn't turn on the bike. Luckily I could start the bike with a pin code, but Henry called me to tell me about the key. Not only that he printed out a shipping label so UPS could pick up the key from the hotel and get it back to the Harley Davidson rental shop. In essence, that $25 to ship the key was far better than paying $300 to replace it. I know this review seems less about the motel and more about Henry, but we are just so greatful and appreciative for his help.

When I checked in the young lady seemed friendly although really emphasised the “no parties” aspect even though I was on my own. I was on the third floor and had a huge case because I’d been travelling for three months. There’s no lift and was advised to take items out of my case and do multiple trips. I’m not carrying my clothes up three flights of stairs in portions. The stairway, corridor and hallways are dirty and have marks all on the walls (guessing from people hauling their case). I got to the room and it smelled BADLY of urine, after a check round the bathroom was dirty. Also not as bad of an issue but the windows are single pane and the street is extremely noisy, but usually I don’t mind this if it’s alone. The TV has near no signal with few channels and set to Spanish? I absolutely never complain and have never tried to leave a hotel without staying but I went down and said I’d like to leave and try somewhere else. I was told it was non refundable and could be shown a different room. She said the smell was the new furniture? But the furniture definitely didn’t look new and the smell was not furniture. Also, she was livid. Absolutely furious. The next rooms bathroom was at least clean so out of pure awkwardness of this girl being rude and refusing a refund I said it was fine. On leaving for dinner I said goodbye at the front desk and she ignored me. However, on staying there was another older lady on reception and a young boy who were both very pleasant and helpful. And they’re the reason the scoring isn’t lower than it is which I believe it should be.

This hotel is under new management so we couldn't see many reviews before booking but it was a great experience! the self check-in was a breeze (we received all the info in an email) and our room was nice and clean. The room is cozy but normal size for SF and if we needed a little more space we just went down to the lobby lounge area. There was wifi in the room and in the lobby area. The kitchen was super convenient to make a quick breakfast. We didn't use the washer/dryers but if we stayed longer we probably would have. We could walk to Union Square and there is also a Trader Joe's a couple blocks away. It was a perfect place to stay for a couple of nights!

Stayed here after our flight was cancelled. The room for 1 night was expensive considering we booked so last minute and it is quite far away from where you want to be in San Francisco. The surrounding areas of the hotel (especially 7th street) is full of homeless people and drug dealers. It was quite scary walking back to the hotel at night. If only the hotel can be picked up and moved location because the hotel itself is nice. It’s very quirky and well decorated, iron board and iron in your room, big comfy bed, clean rooms, someone on reception 24/7 when we were there. Negatives to the hotel is there is no lift (and no rooms on the bottom floor) so you will have to carry your suitcases up the stairs which is minimum 2 flights to get to 1 floor. If stairs are an issue defintaley don’t stay here. The rooms are also noisy because of the activity outside. It’s about a 20/25 minute walk to union square but again because of the location it’s not a pleasant walk. The hotel itself I would give 4 stars if the location was better. Overall though I would not stay here again purely because of location and activity happening around the streets of the hotel. Also don’t see how they can justify the price for 1 nights stay.

We stayed on the 45th floor. There is a sky bridge connecting the two towers of the hotel with floor to ceiling glass windows bestowing one with a spectacular view of the city skyline (Salesforce Tower, Transamerica Pyramid) and the Bay Bridge. The view from our room windows were equally breathtaking as well! Using the Four Seasons mobile app, we let them know what time we would like to check-in, our personal preferences for the stay (e.g. mattress & pillow types) as well as our credit card for a seamless check-in experience. We received both an email and text (optional) notification when our room was ready. The room was beautiful and comfortable. The bathroom was big with a separate shower stall and bath tub. There are both Nespresso machine and electric kettle in the room. There are a lot of electrical outlets, USB charging ports, and a wireless Qi charger on one of the nightstands. Located at the Financial District, it is a short walk to Union Square, Ferry Building, Westfield San Francisco Centre, and Chinatown. The service from the staff was great – from check-in to the optional turndown service. The only blemish on our stay was the in-room climate control – the sensor was not functioning which caused the automatic mode to turn off the fans. Switching to manual mode helps. Note: the sky deck was also closed during our stay. COVID-19 San Francisco County escalated from the red tier into the purple tier a few hours after we arrived. The gym was closed before we got to see it. The room comes with a packet filled with hand sanitizer, masks, and sanitizing wipes. Additional steps were taken to make sure guests were safe include temperature screen at the check-in counter as well as daily temperature check for every guest (once a day) as you enter the building. As for dining options at the hotel, you can either call the front desk to order, or you can order via the Four Seasons mobile app. In room dining menu can be found in the mobile app itself as well as on the hotel’s website. Both the Branzino and Flannery Ribeye Steak were delicious! We had quite a romantic and wonderful evening dinner together with a great view of the city skyline at night.

1. Older hotel, geographical location in the city center, but also make do; to the United States to stay first, thinking that the US hotels are relatively old, after the travel comparison, I know that this is the most general, the facilities are relatively old, but there is no hard injury; 2. In the city center, there are many wanderers around. I bought breakfast early in the morning, and I slept a lot in the nearby streets. I met three people who asked for money, so I need to have some change. 3. Parking is expensive, but there is a parking lot next to it, 35 dollars all day, relatively cheap;

Good location, there is a living supermarket in the basement opposite, fruit and bread are available, basically OK! (Even if there is a large supermarket, there are not many kinds of fruits in China.) Stayed 2 nights! advantage Old hotel, cleaned fairly clean. The location is next to pier39 attractions, it is very convenient, parking has its own garage, relatively safe, and public parking across the road is also convenient. Disadvantage When I checked in, I was charged a service fee of 22 dollars per day. It is mandatory and non-refundable. I didn't see this on Ctrip, so please pay attention when booking the hotel. Secondly, in Downtonw, San Francisco still has a lot of homeless people and goes out at night, so I was taken the initiative by Xiao Hei in front of the store.

Our travel agent mentioned this hotel to us, so after seeing other good reviews my husband and I decided to stay here for 2 nights. We had a really nice view from our window and we were close enough that we could walk to a lot of places. We had something to eat at the lounge, our waiter Jorge was very helpful and did a good job in taking our orders. (even got to practise some of my Spanish with him.) I don't know what kind of cleaning products they use to clean with but because I have allergies to strong scents the smell everytime we came back into the hotel was very overwhelming. For this reason we would not stay at this hotel again, but other than that we had a good stay.

The room size is large and comes with a seating area with table and chairs.I booked a double room with two double beds but each bed is actually narrower than a queen size, so for two people to share a bed is a little too cramp (we are average Asian build). The sheets and towels are clean. Reception staff are helpful but did not appear to be friendly. Provides coffee maker. Some fruits are provided at the lobby. Hotel is located in Lombard street but not near the crookiest street. Hotel is only accessible via bus. City buses can be quite slow and crowded. To buy Muni pass, you can use app but mine did not work, so I had to walk to Walgreen which is about 3 blocks away to purchase and top up the day passes. Walgreen only sells passport(include cable car rides @$12) and does not sell day pass (bus only without cable car ride). Need to walk 2-3 blocks for eateries and mart.

The location of the hotel is very good. It is in the city center of San Francisco. The front desk staff is also very enthusiastic. I asked for a higher floor. The front desk staff was very happy to arrange it. A credit card deposit of $ 50 If there is no problem, I will return to Cali. The room facilities are also very good, much better than domestic chain hotels. The arranged rooms have a wide view outside the window. The check-out time is before 12:00 the next day. Need to make a round, just talk to the front desk. The room rate is C $ 100 for Ctrip, which is slightly more expensive, mainly on Christmas Eve. There is a parking lot, but the parking fee seems to be more expensive. Haha, we did n’t rent a car that day, we only started renting the next day. No breakfast at the hotel. I was very happy with this hotel, and would stay there again if I can afford it. Because I waited until the last minute to book, and did not care where I stayed as long as it was between Union Square and the Theater District and had good reviews on cleanliness, I got a good price even though it was the Sunday night before Christmas. And only 2 blocks from Union Square, it doesn't get any better than that! I used a self park garage 1 block away, at $35 it was less than the hotel valet parking and I wanted to access my car during my stay so worked well for me. The rooms are well sound proofed, which is great as it is a noisy neighborhood. It was sparkling clean with no unpleasant smells even in the hallways. The breakfast was "ok", it was very crowded, not enough seating, they could use a larger room. The food selection was typical, lots of sugary stuff. But they did have scrambled eggs, and yogurt and bagels. What they really need is a water filling station for people to fill their water bottles before heading out for the day, many of us decline to buy single use plastic water bottles and we need a way to refill our reuseable containers, make it good water please, no chemical taste and smell.

Nicely renovated rooms make like SoMa hotel a great spot for exploring the city. Kudos for excellent in-room coffee and well-appointed bathroom, plus great WiFi and in room A/V. It's typical of the W brand, sometimes trying to be a bit too trendy for it's own good, with a loud bar scene in the lobby every evening. The hotel restaurant serves a decent breakfast, though there are much better options nearby for dinner. Functional and convenient with friendly staff, nothing exceptional but a solid mid-range choice for San Francisco.

1. Excellent location, no more than five minutes walk from subway station. The two blocks are Union Square and Macy's. It is basically flat and gentle slope. 2. The lobby is a bit noisy, but it shows the popularity of the hotel. 3. The rooms are spacious and clean and reasonably furnished. The only problem for me was that the refrigerator didn't work and there was no kettle. 4. Gym facilities are relatively complete, and equipment is also a first-line brand. There are more people going in the morning, and they are free at night. 5. It was said that there were nomads around. I stayed for three nights, and I made a few laps outside after nine o'clock in the evening. 6. When checking in, the front desk will recommend upgrading the room. From $ 60 a night, I talked about $ 30. I don't know if it has been upgraded, and said that the room given to me was cityview. Actually I don't know what room I originally booked. But one thing, we arrived at 12 o'clock and arranged the room directly. If you don't upgrade, you'll be required to store your luggage first, and then go outside at three o'clock. 7. When I checked in, I paid cash as a deposit, but when I checked out, I returned all the cash to me, and another 75 USD was used as a security deposit. 7. I have to buy another breakfast. I took a look. There is nothing delicious. There are many restaurants around. You can choose any. Opposite is where the major car rental companies return their cars. You can park at the door of the wine at zero hour. When I leave San Francisco, I go to Alemo across four blocks to pick up the car and pick up my family.

The hotel is really close to Fisherman's Wharf, two streets away, and it takes 5 minutes to walk. Because I saw the parking charges of the hotel in advance, there was no car rental. I picked up the car at 8 am on the day of departure, so I went to the nearby Chinatown. It was Uber 13 knife, had a Chinese meal, and then I took my father who was 70 and walked back to the hotel for more than 20 minutes. My lover took the child to Jiuquhua Street and walked back to the hotel in 40 minutes. For young people It's not far away. The room type we ordered was not large, and the double bed was a bit small, but there was a small sofa bed, which was barely dealt with. The breakfast at the hotel is bread, couscous, fried sausage, bacon, milk with chocolate, low fat, non-fat, all in boxes. I like this, they are replenished in time and can be taken back to the room. This beautiful historic hotel provides a taste of Paris at the time it was a magnet for American artists like Hemingway and Fitzgerald (although the focus of prints and exhibits is strictly French). It's conveniently sandwiched beside China Town, Union Square and the Trolley (not running during our visit because of Covid restrictions). Hallways are filled with French art, and on the first floor, classic sunny French melodies are piped over the sound system to transport you to a wonderful time seated at a first rate cafe on the Boulevard Saint-Germain. The owner, Claude Lambert and his Manager, Frank Legrand, have done a masterful job restoring the property. Bathrooms are retrofitted with new showers and vanities. The walls and high ceilings are covered with delightful hand-stenciled patterns that, I was told, took several years to complete in each room as color choices had to be just perfect, or the owner had them painted over and they were started from scratch. Each day during our three-day visit we received fresh linens, towels, coffee and bottled water delivered outside our door. The front desk could not have been more friendly, personable or helpful. I have traveled the world over. I rarely take the time to write a review. However, in this case, I am compelled by the obvious suffering that first class establishments in San Francisco have suffered during the pandemic. If you are looking for something unique, special and memorable, more than just the gleaming steel of a Hyatt or Marriott, you have found your place. And the price is a steal compared to the big brand name properties only a few blocks away at two to three times the price. See for yourself and enjoy the best that San Francisco has to offer!
