Stayed for two nights with some friends, wish we had stayed longer. On the main street, car park at rear for about 20 odd cars. Short flight of steps up from the street to reception, staff were friendly, chatty and helpful. very nice. Rooms were large, big shower, Queen sized bed in mine, TV, coffee, hair dryer etc. TV, plenty of power sockets, no USB socket so bring adapter for your gizmo's. fridge with mini bar, prices were very good and same as in bar downstairs or outside in cafe etc. My room over looked the side road, blinds down during the day to keep heat out, and of course dark at night, although I opened mine as I did the window, even so the odd car, etc didn't stop me having a good nights sleep. Buffet breakfast, streaky bacon (super!!) scrambled eggs, cold meats, cheese, cereals, fruits etc etc. Nice sized dining room with various table options, high stool, etc. Nice bar downstairs also an outside veranda/patio area with parasol tables to keep the sun off. Good selection of beer, wines, spirits in the bar. All staff I spoke with were great, helpful and willing to chat if not busy. A 6 minute walk from the market square where there are about 10 different bars/bistro/cafe etc for meals. Spoilt for choice really. And shops, did I mention shops. Lots of shops for just about anything you want. Train station close by, but didn't use it so can't say if it is a walk or a taxi ride. Nice big lift, a little slow maybe, but this is a grand old hotel in the old style, not glass and metal! I'm struggling to say something was wrong, but to be honest I can't. It was just a very nice place to stay. One thing maybe, but the hotel may have an answer. About 3/4 steps up from pavement, then about 4 more inside. There is a ramp from car park, but I'm sure I also saw steps back there so not a 100% sure on mobility access - sorry about that.

Make yourself at home at the guesthouse Gästehaus Peterhoff. The rooms are all functionally but comfortably furnished and equipped with Wi-Fi. Relax in the garden and prepare your own meals in the communal kitchen. The friendly staff is happy to recommend restaurants in the city.

We stayed here for one weekend night in mid-October. The pros: - remarkably friendly and attentive staff at check-in, breakfast and checkout, obviously the right people with the right mindset and training in the right place - immaculately clean room, almost as if we were the first guests - properly lit, soundproof and modern room, equipped with a Nespresso machine, a safe, a little tablet computer and a complimentary bottle of sparkling water - well organized back office (ten minutes after booking the room we already got a message by them acknowledging our request for a quiet room on a higher floor) - good location, close to the (not very attractive) city center, with the A4 motorway some kilometers to the north and the hills, forests and lakes of the beautiful Eifel region a 20 minutes drive to the south The cons: - the breakfast room was terribly packed with people, we had to wait for someone to leave and ended up sitting right next to the entrance in a sort of bar stool setting, definitely not the sort of relaxed Sunday breakfast we had been looking forward to - the choice of breakfast options was decent, but a lot of items were not replenished (and advertised items like a local cheese selection did not exist at all) - upon check-in the reception was staffed with only one employee so we had to wait in line with several other arriving guests and the process took quite a while (the employee apologized for that, though) - most of the hotel and especially the hallways felt quite cold, sterile and unwelcoming (more like a administrative office building) - instead of a king size bed the room featured two single beds pushed together, with a gap in between - the mattresses were uncomfortable (for our taste), the bedding felt synthetic and cheap, there was no choice of pillows, all of this did not provide a good sleep - the combination of a/c and ventilation system was difficult to handle (judging by overheard conversations at breakfast we were not the only guests with this problem), we went to bed with a room temperature of 22°C and a target temperature of 20°C - and woke up to a sweltering 25°C (even my partner, with a doctor’s degree in engineering, found out only the next morning how to handle the system) - the bathroom layout was awful, with very little shelf space, only one hook, no place to hang your towels, and with another major flaw: we (as a couple) don’t have a problem with bathroom concepts which are integrated in the actual room - however, we do prefer to have at least a separate toilet, while this Dorint features a toilet room with a huge gap between its glass door and the ceiling, allowing for all sorts of unpleasant odour to waft through the room To sum it up, we did not sleep well due to the mattresses, the bedding and the a/c control problems, and we were quite disappointed by the breakfast situation. However, we still give this property four out of five points for its modern (yet too uncozy) appearance, its exempla

Our 3 day stay at the Mariaweiler Hof was as comfortable as we could have possibly asked for. The hotel owner Jan is the hardest working guy in the business and constantly went out of his way to help us and answer my frequent questions. The restaurant food was superb, so good that we ate there every night. Clean, comfortable rooms, with a big bathroom in the larger room we had. Highly recommended if you are traveling through or staying in the area. Especially for English speakers, Jan is quite fluent and exceptionally helpful.

Total disrespect for guests. Which hotel throws an evening party in the lounge below the rooms? Loud music at night, well after the acceptable time. Nothing is worse than wanting to sleep and unable to because of music posts by the hotel itself. Unacceptable behavior, I do not recommend.

My family and I are traveling around Germany and have stayed at several hotels. This one is by far the best. New and clean rooms. Modern with great amenities. Staff is professional and willing to go beyond expectations. If we ever come back to the area again this is where I'll start. Thank you!

A fine guesthouse in the Eifel region of Germany. Clean, spacious rooms abound in this large guesthouse, (I shared with 2 friends) ideally located for taking day trips in the Eifel National Park or exploring the many WW2 battlefields of the region (The Battle of the Bulge was fought near here) When we visited they put on catering especially for our group (I'm not sure if food is provided normally however) and this was great, German food at its best The only downside I can see is that they do not have WIFI in the rooms
