I have been staying at this hotel on a business trip to Yangon. I used to help my local colleagues in Myanmar to make reservations. The first time I found out that Ctrip can also book, and the confirmation is very fast. I don't have to worry about my colleagues in the future. This hotel is very close to the airport, surrounded by Northpoint Ocean supermarket, and dining is also convenient. The hotel's breakfast is available in American and Korean styles. This time, German colleagues stayed together. They didn't like the two kinds of breakfast. So they asked for milk and cereals, fruits and the like. The waiter's English is not very good. Exchange, but still can basically solve the daily diet problems.

Because the schedule is uncertain, it has been booked several times, and the overall effect is good. The front desk is available in English and the person in charge of the restaurant is the best in English. It's just a small desk, everything else is fine, and occasionally there will be a power outage, but it seems to have its own generator.

When I arrived at the Yangon International Airport without any USD and Kyat, the money changer do not accept New Taiwan Dollar. I called the front desk they offer to pay in advance for the taxi trip to the hotel which I reimburse them later. The front office manager, Mr. Kyaw Lin Htin, was there to greet me. The breakfast is awesome with different variety of choices every morning. Room service shows up in the evening to check out on the guests. The rooftop view is awesome and the gym is up to date. The location is close to downtown but far away from the traffic. It takes about 20 minutes to the airport. Highly recommended for business travel

Outstanding staff and attention to detail. We love this place and stayed here twice during our time in Yangon. The staff are exceptional and it was very clean. The hotel has seen better days but everything in both of the rooms we stayed in was fully functional - excellent a/c, very reliable internet (better than many other more expensive places in Yangon). The rooms we chose were quiet and, as I was working whilst traveling, that was essential. The manager and his wife went out of their way to make sure we had the best of stays. I am looking forward to our future visits and cannot recommend it highly enough. For a basic, budget hotel, it goes far and beyond expectations.

A hotel with very good service. I will call to remind you that you have breakfast tomorrow. When the room is opened, the front desk will lead you to your room. When entering and leaving the hotel, the waiter including the parking lot will also greet you warmly and give someone a nice greeting. A feeling of being at home. Then before cleaning, I will call to ask you what time to clean, and I will stay here next time I come to Yangon

Service 5 stars, very intimate, great, breakfast is rich, it is rare that I went to 10 o'clock, it is the end time, not only delays to take me meals, but also actively helped me to sandwich the fruit snacks before I withdraw the meal. Also help to call a taxi, bargaining, I took a taxi from the airport in the past 23,000 kyats were slaughtered, from the hotel security guards only 8,000 kyats, the hotel room is large, the mattress is also comfortable, although not newly renovated, but also very Clean, most satisfied with the service, very warm

This is a very pleasant, mid-priced hotel in Yangon, within easy walking distance of the Shwedagon (see note below), which is the greatest attraction in Yangon. I have stayed here twice now and will stay here whenever I come to Yangon. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The staff are very friendly. The laundry is excellent. The breakfast in the adjoining restaurant is average. I have been very happy staying at H Valley Yangon and hope to return. The hotel can arrange airport transfers, which I recommend. You will need to contact them in advance. They can also probably arrange or refer you to car and driver transport for sightseeing, which you will need. The hotel is centrally located to many attractions and good restaurants in Yangon, including the Karaweik Palace Barge and the National Museum, but you will need car transport. The Karaweik Palace Barge has an all-you-can-eat, pan-Asian buffet and dance theater show in the evening that I recommend. The cost is very reasonable. They also serve lunch there. Besides the imposing and amazing gilded throne, the National Musem has an entire floor showcasing the costumes worn by the different ethnic groups in Myanmar. Both are well worth seeing. As I mentioned, you can walk from this hotel to the north entrance of the Shwedagon in about 15 minutes or less. Ask the front desk how to do this--don't try Google maps, which gets it wrong. Being this close is helpful if you wish to see the Shwedagon early in the morning or late in the evening, when it is less crowded. The Shwedagon is one of the most beautiful monuments in the world. The hotel is also within walking distance of the Savoy Hotel, one of three famous colonial hotels in Yangon. They have two colonial restaurants with interesting and tasty food.

The child is not yet 13 years old, it should belong to the category of 12 years old and under. You can go to the front desk behind the store to charge an additional $ 20. The room is small, and it is cramped after the extra bed. Fortunately, I only booked one night, and moved to Hotel99 a few hundred meters away the next day. Obviously, the room was large and cheap, because I had to stay a few days and talk about a discount. However, it cannot be denied that its breakfast is the richest since Myanmar, and the room on the 10th floor is relatively quiet, but the attitude of the front desk is too poor to communicate at all

I use it on business trips. I think the price is reasonable and the quality service that is not the same as Japan is provided. There is no problem with access because it also corresponds to pickup at the airport. The breakfast is delicious. This was my 6th visit to Yangon, but my first stay at the Golden Butterfly. The hotel was chosen for its close proximity to the Shwedegon, our only reason for this visit. The hotel is ageing, aren't we all, but it still maintains some of its old grandeur with its beautiful entrance displaying timber craftsmanship of days gone by. The reception was managed professionally in a friendly welcoming manner. The room allocated was airy and clean, with a very large bed, TV and room safe. The bathroom was of normal size, clean and well maintained however the old style shower bath configuration may be difficult for the aged or those with hip and back problems as the bath stands approximately 50 cm high. We were only at the hotel for three days/two nights and as stated earlier our sole purpose this visit was to see the Shwedegon. During OUR stay the staff were friendly and helpful, arranged taxis for us and provided us with guidance as to shopping. The restaurant staff could not have been more helpful and friendly, providing me with a large mug for my breakfast tea rather than the usual 'thimble' size cups. The pool area was clean and a nice place to finish one's evening with a cold beer and a glass of wine. Overall this is a low to medium priced hotel ideally situated for a visit to the Shwedegon. Recommended though older or infirm guests should check out the bathroom configuration before booking.

As of March 2022 This hotel is being used as a quarantine facility for overseas arrivals. The hotel site is the largest among hotels along a lake in Yangon City, and it is good for guests to take a cool walk in the morning/evening except for quarantined people. It has the lowest cost of accommodation among hotels along the lake, but since it is an old hotel, you can feel the signs of time, but it is not to the extent that you feel uncomfortable during your stay. The quality of breakfast/swimming pool/gym is not at the very high level of a luxury hotel, but considering the daily lodging cost of the hotel, it can be seen as good value for money. Amenity is offering an Australian brand called METIS. There is a bathtub in each room, so you can take a bath in the bathtub, but it is not recommended because Yangon's water quality is not good, but it is better to take a shower. If you want to relieve fatigue in the bathtub, it is better to prepare in advance so that you can cover the bad bathroom with a bath agent.

We stayed here in June 2021 and decided to come back again in November. The hotel isn’t what it used to be. Don’t expect any greetings or welcoming words at the reception. Grumpy faces and dry expressions. Also they don’t bother talking to their foreign customers. They simply used my local fiend as if she was my translator. We checked in pretty late and asked them to change the towels because they were old and brownish. They said they will send new ones. Of course they brought us exactly the same. If there’s something that I can’t stand at hotels it’s dirty towels that hundreds of customers used before you and wiped god knows what with. This hotel isn’t cheap but nobody cares about such simple hygiene measures. You are treated like a lackey, as if you were begging them to let you stay for free. This is disgusting and unacceptable. When we were checking out, the reception lady followed me outside as if I were a thief to tell me that they were still checking the room. I was just taking my luggage (by myself!) outside because my friend was looking for a taxi. I came back and we paid for the coffee that I have ordered and she found it courteous to tell my friend in Burmese that they didn’t have the change. I was supposed to accept this easily and just go with a smile after such a disrespectful and dry treatment. It was only 200 kyats but it was totally unprofessional from her side to think that I should accept this. I bet that if it was me who didn’t have the 200 kyats they would’ve treated me like a beggar. The manager (or owner) is even worse and doesn’t care about customers who look young or simple. He is constantly around and not a single word to unsatisfied customers. Of course, no greetings or warm words either! I would absolutely not stay here again!

We travel across Burma. During our stay in Yangon we got to the opening of a hotel restaurant. Unfortunately, because of this festive day we couldn't have had a full lunch, but the hotel staff would have taken care of us so we wouldn't be hungry. We were frequented several times with super snacks free of charge so that we ate to satisfaction . We also received wonderful gifts : hats , towels and shopping bags. We thank the hotel manager and his staff for taking care of us so much. The restaurant is worth the recommendation. It is worth visiting.

Received a gift voucher from my sis-in-law to stay at a Gary Player Suite. The rooms are wide and clean - the bathroom as well. Loved taking a shower there. The view is fantastic and it's just so relaxing to lie on the bed, take in the golf course scenery and just use your phone on the bed. Nice to chill. Although the hotel provided mosquito repellent liquid, mosquitoes just won't die there. It is a nice getaway place and there is a bar and a restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel. The lobby is in the open space, so you can just relax there with the cool breeze coming in from the golf course. I will blame Covid19 for not being able to enjoy a buffet breakfast at the hotel restaurant. The waiters just gave us a set menu to choose from. Try the Healthy Breakfast set. It is by far the best menu there. Not many guests during the Covid19 period but the waiters forgot to serve us coffee which was imcluded in the set menu. Conclusion: a nice quiet place to just chill (nothing else), there are two other restaurants / cafes nearby... and most importantly, prepare your own mosquito repellent spray, especially in the Monsoon Season as the mosquitoes are no joke!!

Stayed here for three nights two on arrival and one on departure. The reception is on the 3rd floor and I found the staff to be articulate and helpful. The first 2 nights were on the 6th floor, the room was clean and provided all the necessities including 2 bottles of water. The internet worked okay in this room however on the 5th floor on our return we could not get it at all, we had to go to reception. The first day we had a shower in the afternoon and it was fine however in the morning we had only cold water and that was the same on the return stay. The breakfast was okay and they do eggs multiple ways. the coffee was good. The room was quite noisy as it faced a busy road where people found it necessary to use their horns. Overall I would say it was okay but there is need for improvement

Okay I don't usually send reviews but, Gemsy is one of the best value places to stay in Yangon and totally underrated - 23 year YGN vet here. Under 2 year old hotel so the photos are 100% accurate. Stayed here for 7 weeks in May/June 2020 in different rooms including their main royal gemsy, all top notch, even gave me a tour of other options which are all as pic showed. Location not downtown (so maybe not perfect for some), but supermarket a 1min walk away, street food and many restaurants under 3min walk, also on main bus route if wanting to travel as a local further, ofc taxi easy via grab. On staff can only say great, GM Ma Irene perfect, Ma Phyu at reception awesome, other staff also all wearing masks so mmmm names missing but all great and chatty. Simply no negative issues, wish they opened buffet brekkie, but understand during covid, though they will deliver to your room free. Can say much more, but a perfect spot to stay in YGN for sure.
