The North Conway Mountain Inn is pretty great, here's why: 1. I live in Bronx, NY. I never had been to the White Mountains area. I called the North Conway Mountain Inn just to get some info about the area and ideas and the guy on the phone was so nice and thorough that I actually felt bad not booking a room. So I called back and I did... 2. I arrived at the North Conway Mountain Inn 4 days later and was checked in by a woman named Alyssa. She too was very nice and friendly and the whole process was welcoming and seamless. 3. I then proceeded to my room, on the second floor, with a door that enters from the outside, no hallways to walk down or elevators to use, GREAT !! The room was older but large, clean, and very comfortable. The balcony was just wonderful with a breathtaking view. I sat out there for hours with my kindle. 4. Upon checkout I met the guy I had spoke to on the phone who was actually the owner. He told me so much about the area, then when I told him I was from the Bronx, he told me he was Italian and told me about pasta recipes and how to make the perfect Sunday gravy. He was so sweet and humble. 5. The North Conway Mountain in is close to "downtown" and all the shops and restaurants and a vintage train station. This is probably my favorite place I have stayed. I am going to try to go back this summer and can't wait.

Me, my husband, and our son and his family came stayed here for a Mother’s Day weekend. Overall we are very pleased with our stay. The place was clean and all staff were very accommodating and friendly. We enjoyed being out in the courtyard by the fire pit and we also enjoyed time in the pool and hot tub. Laura M assisted us with our room and she was great to deal with. It was great having a kitchen with a fridge and a bedroom separate from the living room and kitchen areas. I guess the only drawback is the place apparently allows dogs (since there were tons) and the dog across the hall from our room barked all night long. (I never heard it but my husband did). We love dogs but it greatly impacted his sleep. He didn’t say anything since the family in that room was gone the next day. Overall a great experience!

We stay here regularly, they are the most amazing staff in the valley. We've stayed other places and they can't compete with the service you get here. We care the most about customer service, other amenities aren't as important to us as how we're treated. This staff is tight knit, friendly, engaging, accommodating and just plain respectful. Who can ask for more. Barb in the dining room was so sweet and chatted with us on our last day. Angie at the front desk has been here for over 15 years and we've dealt with her that long. She's incredible, she helped us when my father in law passed away last year during our trip, and remembered us when we came back. The team here is like family and it shows that the management treats them right, because they stay. That speaks volumes in this industry.

I stayed here quite a while ago, but I stayed a few times. It is an exceptional deal, so I don’t understand why some people are complaining about the lack of luxury items or small bathrooms. The descriptions on the websites are clear and pictures are posted, so I blame poor reviews on the customers lack of understanding. I can’t remember the ladies name but there was a woman that checked me in and checked me out. I’m originally from the south and relocated to New England; I hadn’t met anyone nice like her in years. She treats you like you’re a nephew/niece coming to stay the weekend. The only other feedback I’d like to leave about the staff is that I’ve read some of their negative reviews on other websites like hotels.com and the manager or whoever writes the replies could use a gentle touch with their customer service instead of telling people to go stay somewhere else for twice the price (we are all thinking it, so they aren’t wrong, but it’s the customers that don’t like your place you really need to win over, not the ones leaving positive reviews). The room is decent size, but the bathroom was pretty small. Like I said, read the descriptions on the websites. I have no complaints about it because I knew what I was getting, and paid only around $50 a night. It was nice staying here instead of the Marriott or some other major chain, and will gladly come again because of the welcoming feel, the price, and the amazing front desk lady. Thank you for a great and affordable stay so I could visit my family in NH for the weekend!!

My boyfriend and I stayed at the NCGH this past winter. We got a great deal on a hot tub room cuz it was off season. Pros: The room was very clean, which I was happy with given the reviews I was reading prior to going, the whole hotel was very clean. We loved the pool and especially the outdoor hot tub. We had fun watching the Christmas movies in the movie room. There were a ton of dvd options to pick from and the TV was huge and good quality: Location is amazing, cannot be understated how close it is to everything and so many good stores and food stops. There’s a Walmart and a grocery store right down the street to get essentials (like we got bubble bath for the hot tub, snacks for the room etc) Staff were friendly and helpful. We got a great deal due to the time we went. I loved the decor and we loved playing card games and sitting down in the main lobby with the fire. I found the “vibe” of the hotel really relaxing and fun. Cons: the restaurant was closed for sit down service, and I hadn’t realized that upon booking, should definitely be in large print on the website : when we ordered to go from there the menu was small, and the food was OK but expensive so we never ordered there again. The free breakfast was a store bought muffin and an apple , coffee was good but I feel the breakfast could’ve been better considering the regular restaurant was closed (even cereal would’ve been better ) . We both wished the gym and pool had been open a smidge later, especially since there’s someone at the desk that could’ve watched the area. Check in was pretty backed up, and that’s probably due to having only one person on the desk: they were kind and tried hard but it was a bit frustrating to wait that long just to check in (line was 30 minutes or so) There’s no my many good cable stations, the dvd selection was OK but we had brought an HDMI cord and adapter to hook up my iPad to the TV and watch Netflix and Hulu and I highly recommend this !! Overall: we would stay again during a time the prices were good: if we were paying “busy season” prices I would’ve been pretty unhappy with some of the “cons” especially the crappy breakfast, but since we got a great deal and enjoyed the other aspects I was OK with it.

If I could rate this hotel with out giving any stars I would! To start soon check in the hotel seemed very dingy walking in compared to the pictures after checking in to our room which was a king jacuzzi room we looked around to find complete filth nail polish on the jacuzzi dirt around the floor tissue shoved in a hole in the bathroom stains on the blankets rot in the bathroom urine around the toilet nasty dirt in the hall lamp and lastly MOLD in the closet! After arguing with the owner who agreed to refund me and place me in a different room he then changed his mind and started calling hotels that looked even worse at this point I’m extremely upset so I said forget it it’s my anniversary u have already taking $200 for one night for a dump I’ll stay it was getting late and my last night on vacation (I had been staying in a beautiful hotel before this but they where booked or I would have stayed ) so I left went to dinner came back went in the room walked back out to get my stuff to come back in and I’m locked out ... I had just been in the room not even two minutes before. The owner came running down the hall saying he blocked the room because he didn’t know if we where staying after I had said I was and to forget it and I would follow up with the board of health I was offered a ten percent discount that he ended up bumping up to a 25 percent discount off the room so I was still upset but I was over it all my night that was so supposed to be special was ruined and wasted arguing over a hotel owners negligence to cleanliness and customer service . After all the arguing I wanted to relax with a nice dip in the pool probably the nicest thing about the hotel other than the lady at the front desk however I did find it a little disturbing that there was no lock on the pool door it was a regular house knob that any kid could just open! The walls where paper thin and I was woken up at 6 am to the owner screaming to his wife outside my room door I will not be returning and think others should consider staying else where!
