The draw of the Matsubara is the kids Water Park that is definitely worth a visit but staying at the hotel is hard to recommend. The hotel was once a popular place in Maceió and carried a 5 star rating - yet today the hotel is in a shocking state of disrepair and poor condition - barely passing as a three star experience Advise staying elsewhere and going to the water park on a day pass

Conde Hotel has as its best feature the location. It is close to a great shopping center and close to the beach (about 100 m). The room is ok. It has the basics. Vanessa, the housekeeper, was really nice and took the time to make towel sculptures every morning. Wi-Fi is available and free of charge. Breakfast is ok which means not many options. The hotel has no gym or swimming pool. I would define this hotel as a “just for sleeping hotel”. If you are looking for that you will have a good cost-benefit here otherwise look for a hotel with more amenities.

We spent 7days in a family trip. The breakfast is great and dinner vary from great to a nightmare. The facilities are brand new or very well conserved The room we stayed were pretty big - two queen beds - clean and silently. TV is not that big since you won’t be at the room most of the time. The bathroom is good, shower is fine but the towels were really wasted! Would give 4 stars if they had better towels

Very nice ambience, incredible location. Employees welcomes you with a nice smile all the time. However, there are many details that certainly shows that this can not be qualified as a 5 star resort. Just a simple detail... you are only allowed 1 beach towel per person. I’ve been to many resorts and hotels world wide and I never had to deal with it..... Server don’t know what a Gin Tonic is and almost mixed my drink with Coke instead. The massage therapist don’t work on Sundays!!! Finally you have to wear a bracelet that is the key for any access or purchase.... unfortunately it does not work and you need to give your room number all the time to register all transactions... What’s the reason for the bracelet then? A lot of work to be done....

First positive thing, this is a one-year old hotel. Everything is still spotless due to the perfect care the staff has with the cleanliness of the place. Talking about the staff they all are very polite and try their best to help you out; not sure how they are with foreign languages though. One thing to notice is that differently from more southern Brazilian sates, it gets sunny and hot very early in the morning, so you need to be up really soon to beat the burning sun out there. One needs to take in consideration that regional food will be available for breakfast and be open to experience new flavors, you will end up enjoying it a lot or hating it. Rooms are big enough but not much storage space, but you are in a beach area and not much clothing will be required anyway; I had a family room with a king size bed and to twin beds and another one with a king size only. The whole environment helps you to relax as there is no noise outside your room and inside air conditioning and blackout curtains helps create the mood. The AC can be a bit of an issues because it blows directly on your face while you are in bed, but nothing that a little creativity can’t solve (see picture). Around the hotel a large selection of restaurants supply food to all tastes and also a wide range of stores and bars can entertain after the beach.

You can expect to be well taken care of at this medium-priced hotel in Maceió’s best neighborhood, Ponta Verde. As part of the Brisa Hotel Group, the Hotel Costamar maintains the high standards and understated good service of other hotels managed by the group. If you stay here more than once, you will notice the competent receptionists will remember you by name, something which is common in 5 star hotels. Special mention to Tamires at the reception and Mr. Neto, the General Manager. The hotel is super-well located, in the best part of Ponta Verde. The fact that it is one street behind the beachfront means your rate will be very reasonable and yet you will still be close to the beach. The rooms are ok, the bed mattresses and bathroom could get a facelift. Breakfast is honest and most importantly, WIFI works well. Overall a great place to stay in Maceió if your priorities are value, comfort and location.

It was the best decision to come back to this BW for my new visit in Maceió, no wonder the best hotel in the city by far! Location is prime, the beach is just across the street; the pool and facilities on the rooftop also allow you relaxing time (sauna, game room, bar and kids' corner are there too). There are many room categories and handicapped people can count on one especially adapted for them - that indicates respect! The corner suite is very large, fully equipped, with a large and comfortable bed, and plugs all around. The bathroom is also very spacious, amenities are generously offered. Internet works well and all over the hotel, except for the frontal zone on the pool area. Reception is most kind and attentive, so is housekeeping, always there for you and with a smile! The only area the hotel needs to work on is really the restaurant! It'd be wiser to have more options for dinner and more appealing ones, to attract guests to stay and eat in, not out! Also mentioned in my previous review, breakfast should have a more appealing presentation, it all looks just put there without care! There is too much bread, too little fruit, not so many regional products; and juices are all watery, taste like absolutely nothing! All in all, really the best place to stay in Maceió, no doubt!

Maceió Mar Hotel is a nice place to stay in Maceió. Rooms are comfortable, clear and in a good size. The breakfast is very diverse and good. The dinner is interesting. I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Maceio for a week while in Brazil on a business (research) trip. I really enjoyed it - the location is great, just a few blocks from the beach but not directly on it. It's close to a good stretch of the beach as well, quite near some of the best beach bars in town. The rooms were fairly basic, but had everything you would need, either for a business or holiday stay, and it was perfectly comfortable. I found the staff friendly and helpful - everyone I interacted with. Best of all was the breakfast - excellent! Lots of fresh fruit and typical Brazilian breakfast foods, including regional specialties like 'bolo de tapioca.' For me, the breakfast was suitable quality for a fancier (and pricier) hotel.

Room was standard beds and amenities were comfortable and hotel is central to where all is going on in the City and in front of the beach. There are other more expensive hotels as well if you are snob for that kind of temporary stay. Come on people you are not buying the hotel for three nights stay give the hotel a break. Roof top was amazing and they gave us passes to use top gym 50 yards away which was super well equipped. I would def come back to this hotel. Breakfast was 30 raéis which comes to 8,25 dollars and this is much cheaper than anything you can get in US and someone was complaining that it was expensive for Brazil. What are these people’s writing horrible reviews about discontent that they have in their lives. Anyhow I digress hotel is good and location is perfect service is always friendly. I was happy.

If there is something I find to be pointed out in in this property is the kindness and politeness of the whole staff, they are all very friendly and warm. Specially, Daniela from Reservations, Ana in the Front Desk, and Silvio in the restaurant Dos Corais and the pool-service. Besides, the chubby and paunchy man dressing a white shirt in the restaurant, who always was smiling and positive. Breakfast in this hotel is great with a wide variety of meals, including various local preparations such as the tasty TAPIOCA prepared by a knowledgeable woman dressing local outfits and having graciousness at all moment. Having state of the art 3 desktop computers in the lobby there is plenty of options to use the internet and the wi fi always worked well. In the afternoon, being posible to drink complimentary coffe by the lobby área as well as fresh water makes a good way to spend time after a day of sun bath or a cloudy day. The swimming pool is so well located that encouraged me to remain several hours per day up to the sun is gone. Another remarkable mention deserves the dinner, which boast a broad assortment of meals (meat, fish and seafood, chicken, pasta, soup, pork, etc.) with the all-you-can-eat modality. As for the beers that can be ordered, I would suggest the addition the liter bottle so the small bottles and cans have another option. Being the beach just across the Street, I appreciate the pedestrian crossing with the red color so cars stop giving priority to pedestrians. That indeed exist in many pedestrian crossings in Maceio beach, which is something unique in Brazil. I will cretainly come back to Hotel Ponta Verde for my next vacation, it is in my list of the ourstanding propertis in Brazil along with Crocobeach of Fortaleza

Yes. . . This hotel does what it says on the tin. . . . I've give it five, but it's more of a 4 1/2, on account of it being a small room with no opening windows. . Mrs. T was a bit claustrophobic and concerned as what to do in case of fire. . . Breakfast and staff fine. . Ac leaked and messed the floor (not for the first time looking @ the wall). Actually I'm giving it a four now. . .

We love the experience at the Brisa hotel in August 2019. Especially the location, food, services and atmosphere. The location is great because the hotel is close to the main tourist spots in Maceio. Also offers delicious typical foods and other options such as an excellent breakfast with many tasty options and a breathtaking view of the Pajuçara beach. In addition, we find great services for couples with children, such as a toy room, space for preparing baby food and additional cots, as well as a luggage storage service. The hotel has a positive, relaxing and comfortable atmosphere, especially for families. However, a negative point is the night may not be safe to walk around the hotel. My verdict is that Brisa hotel offers an incredible experience for families with a friendly team staff. I will always recommend!

The staff was pleasant and the location was across the street from the beach. Good restaurants are within walking distance. The room was bad, bare looking and the bed not very comfortable. The hotel is a reasonable nice hotel with clean comfortable rooms, great Wi-fi and a good breakfast..the roof top pool is also great.... however, it's is a long way from being a 5 star hotel as advertised...we paid extra for a more luxurious suite, the bed only had one reading light in a room that has inadequate lighting, so difficult for two to read...the mini bar is stocked with only a limited supplyof water, beer and soft drinks.. nothing else was available..no glasses available in the rooms. Whilst we were here there was major refurbishment work taking place, meaning it was impossible to stay in the room during the day. If we had known in advance, we would have made alternative arrangements...

The hotel is marvelous in every way. The rooms are very spacious and modern, and so are the bathrooms. Huge tv screen. The nicest thing about the hotel is the rooftop, which is gorgeous for a lazy day at the pool or a sunset drink. The bar area is just lovely and the music sets a great vibe. The breakfast is good, my husband loved it because of all the delicious baked goods, but I prefer a variety of more healthy options . The gym is pretty small and just has a few machines. As for the location, I would understand why it has a high rating on websites being in close proximity to Pelourinho, and with the marina right below it. However I personally would prefer if it was elsewhere for aesthetic reasons. The area around it and leading it to is shanty. The view from the rooftop or while you’re working out at the gym , is of old and dirty abandoned buildings. Also it is not advisable to walk to the old town after sunset due to it being unsafe. The service by all staff is impeccable, from the concierge, to the restaurant waiters ,bellboys and the staff at the door. A special thanks goes to Artem from concierge who helped us with booking everything in advance and tending to all our requests. Overall it’s a wonderful hotel and I highly recommend it.
