Booked this dog-friendly motel on line, first time stay over in Decatur on way home Ohio. We had to switch out of a smoking room to a non-smoking room on the other end of the wing, but the whole motel had a smell of smoking as a result. Thankfully we could open windows and let cool breeze in room. Staff was helpful in this. The bathrooms are tiny , the shower head was about at my chest, and the sink outside it was about at my waist. Kinda strange. Nice desk, adequate lighting, beds were comfortable . Out at western edge of Decatur, had to drive 7 miles in town to eat at restaurant we chose. Was quiet. Will color my desire to stay in this motel chain again- there are better ones for sure. Was a cheap stay overnight. Didn't eat breakfast here.

I got awakened at 7 something in morning by getting bitten by a bed bug. After about the 3rd time my sleep got disturbed by getting bitten, I woke completely up and turned on the lights. When I pulled back the covers there was a bug. I took pictures and a video of it, I then googled images of bed bugs and it matched the bug on the cover. I then called the front desk and told them my issue and asked the attendant to come up to see for himself. Once the attendant saw it, he agreed that it was a bed bug and removed it with a piece of tissue. I informed him that I would be checking out immediately and didn't want to stay until check out time. I told him that it was important that he have a manager call me asap about this situation. He said definitely. I then went to the front desk to check out and I was greeted by a lady attendant now. I expressed the same thing to her about having a manager call me. That was a Sunday, I called back Monday, still no response back to me. So I gave them a little over a week and still no response or call back at all. So this week on the 8th day I wrote a review on the country inn and suites website, I checked back today to see if someone had responded, and I could not find my review on there anymore. So now I decided to write one on here to make sure it doesn't get deleted. This is now the 12th day. I have been a member with this hotel chain for many many years and this is the treatment I get. This ordeal makes me so nervous to ever stay at this hotel again!

We booked and stayed for two weekday nights. First the positive points were the politeness of the staff and the low rate. However, both of these nicities was not enough to offset the negatives which were as follows. 1. This is an older hotel that has maintenance issues such as mold, doors that are warped and chipped, a baby sized bathroom and toilet. We went to the spacious and comfortable lobby bathroom that had a larger toilet and room to actually open your legs. (See pictures) 2. The slowest internet on the planet. Only 2mb THATS NOT A MISPRINT not 10, 50, 100, 200 or even 1 gigabit speed (which you would at least have at home). 2mb download speed (an old dial up modem would be faster). This is too slow for 1 user let alone potentially hundreds of devices in a hotel this size. When I asked about this I was told that this was all the speed that they pay for from their ISP and 1 or 2mb is the fastest it ever gets. WHY? Just so they could say we have WiFi? Despicable! 3. The worst breakfast in the history of hotel breakfast and gives even continental breakfast a bad name. The Biscuits were as hard as bricks. Literally! The only slightly warm item was a soupy gravy (with no hint of meat) for the biscuits and gravy. As a matter of fact there was no hint of meat anywhere. We have stayed at many Baymont hotels all over the country 10 in the last year alone as it was our preferred Wyndom property and this is by far the worse. And to make it so bad they don't know how bad they are compared to all of the other Bay.monts, they believe these negatives to be the norm. 4. The bed was too hard and the pillows too soft.

We had to go to several hotels along the interstate to find a room, for some reason things were all booked up. The price was more than we wanted to spend but it was getting late & we were tired. ($115. + all taxes = $131.) We were in Room 321. Very spacious, clean & well designed! We were driving through so we only stayed overnight but it would have been a nice room to have if you were staying for a few days. It had awesome room darkening shades, even the entry door was sealed nice to keep the hallway lights out. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom was huge. It even had a single use Keurig coffee marker. I did have to call down to the front desk to get 2 regular coffee pods, some sugar & a cup as there was no sugar & only decaf pod & one cup. They brought some up almost immediately. Despite the price we would stay here again.

Came into town for business and was very surprised by this amazing hotel! Brand new always means great things, but the amenities were modern and perfect for my business trip. Room was quiet, staff unbelievably helpful, mornings great for a business traveler. Kudos for the training of this staff and the hotel!

Well I was not initially exited by the fact that all of their handicapped rooms only had queen sized beds, nor was I thrilled by the super slow internet speed (only 2mbs download) or the fact that they have very poor snow and ice removal service; but they won me over by EVERY other category. The breakfast was outstanding. The hotel staff were super accommodating. The queen suite I got was incredibly clean, spacious, quite, and comfortable. The queen bed and pillows were one of the most comfortable I have ever slept on. And the rate was the icing on the cake. Bravo, I have have found my new hotel of choice when staying in Dacatur. Which after several horrible experiences at other hotels this truly was refreshing. I will be rebooking in a few weeks.

From the time we checked in until the time we checked out 4 days later, we had a perfect stay. We were greeted by Alexis T. when we first arrived at 9:00 a.m. and even though our rooms weren't available that early, she provided PERFECT customer service. She offered to hold our luggage for us so we could begin to explore downtown.....she did it with a smile and could not have been more welcoming. She also told us that breakfast was still being served and if we would like to partake to please do so. She set the bar very high and is a perfect "face"for the hotel! Our rooms were very clean at check in but we did not ask for our rooms to be cleaned after that. We only asked for clean towels and the housekeeping staff were gracious in giving us the amount we requested. We enjoyed the evening reception (provided 7 nights a week/4:00-7:00 p.m.)held in the lobby one evening. That night they had complimentary chicken wings, chips with artichoke dip and cubed cheese......all hot and very tasty! There was also an acoustic guitar player in the lobby providing very nice music (low volume). The morning breakfast was very well presented as well.....one morning they ran out of bacon - no big deal! This hotel is located a 10 minute walk from all the action on Broadway. Super location! I would 100% stay and recommend this hotel to anyone in need of a hotel while visiting downtown Nashville!

My wife and I were celebrating her birthday last week, and Nashville was where she wanted to go (I certainly didn't mind though). We checked in on Wednesday March 4 for three nights. My first thought of the lobby area was it reminded me of the Contemporary Hotel in Disney World minus the monorail running through it. Our early check-in went smoothly as our room was already available, and it was one facing the park, as we requested. Regarding the room itself, it was overall clean and spacious. Next door at Bridgestone Arena, there was a concert the first evening, a hockey game the next evening, and another concert the last evening. We did hear their noise, but glad we didn't also hear all the music from the other side (rooms facing Broadway). Our check-out experience went well too with no discrepancies in our final bill. For breakfasts, we enjoyed the buffet in the lobby. It was nothing spectacular, but still had all the usual breakfast foods. Our only issue came with the coffee shop where on Thursday March 5, it didn't open until after 7am. It was an issue as we are early risers and were specifically told they opened 6am weekdays. Regardless, I would certainly consider staying here again the next time we're in town.

We spent two nights a week ago traveling for fun as a couple. It was a fantastic experience from our initial contact (the hotel actually called to see if we needed anything for a smooth trip or arrival about a week before we got there, which was a nice touch), to the check in with Elliot who was very helpful and friendly, and then all the way through our stay to our check out. Ellington's has a terrific happy hour and outdoor deck - Wonderful cocktails and appetizers (go for the pimento cheese to wash down with a nice dry martini!). The room is absolutely fantastic. We stayed in a Cherry Suite which is a big larger and has everything you will need. The beds and pillows are very comfortable, and the bathroom large. Morning coffee is excellent in the lobby. The location is terrific - right next to Painter's Alley and a few blocks from Broadway and other sites. The developer and designer did a great job of making a new hotel feel truly vintage. Valet parking is a great way to go. We even had to leave around 5:30 am for the airport, so we called the night before to make sure we could access our car, and they had it pulled up waiting for us. Overall, you can't go wrong staying here. We will make The Fairlane our Nashville hotel for sure!

My husband and I stayed here for our tenth anniversary, and it was definitely memorable! We had to change rooms twice, once because the AC didn't work, and once because the ceiling was leaking. However, the beds were super comfortable, and the atrium, pool, and fitness rooms were great. The restaurant has very good food and great atmosphere. Everyone, especially the lady that worked the front desk in the mornings, was very nice, and we got moved quickly and easily both times. I would recommend staying here to anyone, though it seems the hotel could really use some updating. We would stay here again.

The hotel is wonderful and the staff was exceptional. Emily at the lobby bar, Phyllis and Barbara in the cafe to name a few. Faults: no concierge on staff to help Nashville newbies on local dining venues or sights. Front desk staff very kind but called upon to fill this position and not really good at it. Also when checking in the front desk staff were constantly being interrupted to answer the phone which was a bit rude. Last but not least the valet parking situation! We waited almost one hour for our car Sunday morning to be delivered. This can only be attributed to poor planning on the part of management. We were told our car would be available in fifteen minutes so we proceeded down and joined at least another fifty to seventy five families waiting. It had to be known how many would be checking out that morning and should have been planned for. Not Marriott standards.

First the good- we loved the location and would stay here again because of that. Plus, We actually liked the minimalist rooms. They felt very clean. We had read reviews so we booked a larger room with windows. Now the not so good- very unhelpful desk staff. We requested housekeeping but it didn't happen. Next, they checked us out a day early. When I stopped to ask about it, I was met with argument and insistence that our reservation ended now. I showed my emailed confirmation and then it was, Oh, Ok, I'll check you back in. Of course, when I got my final receipt, they charged me the now higher price than what I booked in January, for that last night. I emailed (no response) and called but it was again just argument, and my mistake somehow. Finally, the AC quit working that day. We reported it but the whole day passed without anyone taking action. When we checked back in the afternoon. They said, they couldn't work on it because we had our stuff in the room. They had not given us another room or said that was a problem in the morning but now just kept saying , they couldn't fix it because of us. Just to stop that argument I finally said, "OK, what now?" They then offered us another room for our last night. I don't expect any response to any of this. I see their canned response to every negative review. It's just a full disclosure to those choosing. We'd stay here again for the location and we were comfortable until the AC situation. If service and hospitality is important though, stay somewhere else.

I was in Nashville for a business convention and stayed at the Hyatt Place Nashville Downtown due to its proximity to the convention center. The staff was very kind and welcoming. The hotel was clean and rooms are nice size. we had an issue with the hair dryer and GFI outlet in the bathroom and the hotel fixed both issues in 5 minutes. Great Customer experience. The breakfast buffet in the morning is nice, but NO restaurant in the hotel. Fortunately the hotel is surrounded by restaurants. Parking is $40 per night FYI. The only problem with our room was the view was covered by an A/C unit.

My first time staying at an Aloft hotel, but not my last. This property was quirkier than the typical Marriott properties I stay at, but happened to be the least expensive at the time of booking so I gave it a try. I was there for 3 nights with my son (17) visiting Vanderbilt University. The hotel had a very urban feel to it, the room was very spacious, including a sitting area. The bathroom was also spacious, however I didn't like the door-less shower. While it looked interesting, practically speaking you end up getting water all over the floor. The beds, pillows and bedding were comfortable and there were two TV's in the room allowing us to watch different channels. Amenities included a small gym, pool table in the lobby, lobby bar, and a place for a small band to perform (however no one performed during our stay), and a refreshment area. I was least impressed with the refreshment area. While there was coffee available, no breakfast was laid out each morning. We found out later (after complaining about the lack of breakfast) that you had to order your food from the bar and they would make it for you. Since I don't go to the bar that early in the day I never knew, equally my underage son would have never walked up to the bar to order something. In my opinion, this is awful planning on their part. But, aside from the food issue this was a great hotel at a good price.
