Very Good12 Reviews
13.35km from Obayashi ClinicFirst of all, I’m a bit surprised to read about bad review and old rooms and hotel. Stayed here for 6 nights for business in Kobe. Checked in, and my room was on the 9th floor. Good view, large and very pleasant. I called ahead to make sure that I got a real non-smoking room as I have an allergy. I always do that, and believe it works should you hate the smell of smoke. Bed was pleasantly big, I would say a semi double. Room and bathroom was big by Japanese standards too, (I’ve stayed in quite a few). Hotel is not so far from the bright lights of Sannomiya and about 3 minutes walk to Hyogo Station. Everything is accessible from there. Lots of restaurants and places to buy things close to the hotel. They have a coin laundry with 3 machines and 3 dryers just outside in the car park. Detergent can be obtained free, from reception. The washers are ¥200 and the dryers ¥100 per 30 minutes. Breakfast is plentiful and a combination of Japanese and Western. After 5 days, I’d had enough, basically the same food everyday. Breakfast staff generally friendly, but I had an incident with an elderly Japanese member off staff, who was incredibly rude to me. I speak Japanese and she was rude, disappointing. Something a little odd about this hotel. Everyday, I returned around 3:30 in the afternoon and my room still was not cleaned on 2 occasions. Mentioned it to the staff, and the issue was resolved. Think some of the staff speak English but didn’t try. Bedroom walls are not the thickest and the door doesn’t keep out the noisy neighbors. Would I stay here again? Probably, I paid for an extra night after my work as it was cheap and good. Rates go up on a Saturday night, double the price. Tip: There’s a lovely bakery close to “Daikai” subway station if you turn right out of the hotel, walk straight, get to the station entrance and you will see it close by, named “revolted”. Nice pastries and sandwiches to take away should you need. Also, there’s a restaurant called “Osho” right next to the hotel, they do good fried dumplings and have a picture menu. Check out the “Okonomiyaki” restaurant round the corner as well. Out the hotel, turn left, go one block, left again. Enjoy.
