Had an overnight stay here for the rugby after a day travelling down from Hokkaido. The trip went incredibly smoothly, then the welcome, the fans zone, the organisation and the fans transport out to the stadium were amazing. Well done Oita. The hotel was a little overwhelmed by the number of people booking in before the match, but staff were friendly and helpful; the room was clean, comfortable, and well equipped; and the hotel was easily found from the station via an interesting arcade - no more than a 5-10 minute walk. Would certainly stay here again if in Oita.

The hotel is generally good, the hotel has a free large bath for you to take a bath, not a natural hot spring, just a large bath. Because I went to the courtyard, it was very comfortable to come back to take a hot bath.

If you drag luggage from Oita Station, walk about 10-15 minutes. The hotel is easy to find. It's just by the road. In addition to the formal staff, there are also trainee employees. Such a big battle can tell that this restaurant has a certain scale of operation. It is indeed a restaurant with branches in Japan all over the country! It's a pity that I didn't live in the room on the high floor this time, but this time the room is already bigger than the average Japanese room! The hotel lobby is on the second floor. If passengers with large luggage can take the elevator, there are also escalators to use! There is a lawson and a seafood restaurant on the first floor of the hotel. This restaurant is the place to eat breakfast! Breakfast has all kinds, and there are hot spring eggs to eat! I stayed for two nights this time, and I was really worried at the beginning because the price was cheaper than the next few hotels when I booked it, and I was afraid of thunderstorms, but the evaluation on the Internet was good, so I chose to live here. Fortunately, you have to live here to understand how great it is! But if there is really a place to suggest, it is better that the ventilation function of the bathroom can be bigger, and the washing and drying machine in the hotel is a bit small. Do n’t wash and dry the clothes like we have accumulated for several days , Because winter clothes are hard to dry out, fortunately we have used all the clothes in the end! It ’s said that nothing happened and no wisdom. If we still use washing and drying machines in Japanese restaurants in the future, we will not be tragedy. Finally, if we have a chance in the future, we will choose this meal or other branches to stay!

Stayed 1 night when we came to watch the rugby. This was the only hotel we could book as it was a busy time and prices were more than triple the usual rates. 15 minutes walk from Oita station. Not allowed to check in until designated time so we left luggage and went to see the rugby. When we got back at 11pm they had already put our luggage in our room. The staff have limited English but they try their best. The room is small but we were only staying one night. There was slight cigarette smell. There was an air purifier in the room but we could not work out how to use it. We were tired and just went to bed. Free breakfast but choices were limited and mainly local offerings with simple pastries. There is a hot spring in the hotel but we did not have time to use it. Left the next morning to go to Fukuoka.

Apart from that, it is a 3 star hotel going on 2 star. Adequate rooms, breakfast was ok. Easy walk to town centre you are right next to the covered shopping arcade. Loved the city and the hotel was a good place to crash after the 2nd Oita QF France v Wales. The BBC were staying and broadcasting here, I pointed out Matt Dawson to 4 Japanese rugby fans, they hadn't heard of him until I showed the famous 2003 RWC winning drop goal from Johnny Wilkinson after aforrmentioned scrum half passed to him. They then had their mobiles snapping MD as he was in mid-podcast with Christopher Jones. Must gave looked odd from Matt's perspective! In summary, average clean hotel, prices I'm sure more moderate after the rugby left town. I loved Oita it's brilliant people. The staff at the hotel were equally friendly.

The hotel room is small, but the surrounding environment is very good. The family likes the city very much, Oita City, Oita Prefecture, Kitakyushu. There are not many people, the road is spacious, the hotel in the Oita JR station about 10 minutes or so route, very convenient, people around the morning is not noisy, see some comments that relying on the road seems very noisy, we are relying on the three rooms this time The road is not at all noisy, the room is very magical and clean. When the check-in, the front desk is not like other hotels. The front desk big brother can communicate in English, the lobby is very good, the location is also very good, there are three or four around. The hotel, personally feels that this house looks good at least outside. We have stayed for two nights in three rooms for six people, and the price is very high. In Japan, it is better to live in the city than to go to the Beppu House for two nights to save a lot of money. And it is very convenient to go to these two places with JR PASS Oita Station. We went to Kumamoto from here to take the Aso Boys on the first day, and went to Beppu for the next day. On the third day, we went to Beppu University Station on the third day. The sand baths are very convenient. Go to the hotel to take your luggage and then JR to go to Yufuin. like very much. In addition, there are central town mothers who like it very much. There is also a seemingly high-end seafood mall but it can be fully consumed, and at half price, sushi can be sold at night. Our six people have more than one hundred yuan to eat very comfortable.

Wanted to stay 1 night in Beppu but the price was triple on a Saturday compared to other days. Decided to move to Oita instead. Found Areaone to be able to accommodate 3 pax in a room. The hotel is a typical japanese business hotel. Room is clean and average in size. 10 mins walk to JR station shopping. The staffs goes out the way to help. When the hotel carpark was full, one of the lady who spoke english directed us where to park. As we do not know how to operate the parking machine, she followed us to the car park lot and showed us. The next day, as we checked out, I asked an elderly gentleman to help us make reservation at the strawberry farm. He called but there were no response. He promised to call again before his shift is over (he mentioned that no one else can speak english on the day shift) True enough he managed to make reservation and contacted us through phone ( international call) to inform us. Thank you to all the staffs for the help. Keep up the good service.

Oasis Tower has comfortable and spacious rooms, I had a double at 17th floor (n.12). Bed was comfortable, very generous amenities, you could find all comfort. The view was pittoresque on the whole Ōita city, facing mountains and sea on the back and sunrise in the morning. Breakfast was excellent and atmosphere was of a luxurious kind. Very recommended if you intend to have a stop in Oita. Very close to Oita Station, 10 min walking distance and a couple of minutes from shopping/restaurant area.

What a great hotel. Modern, clean, well- run, nice rooms and an amazing rooftop, open- air hot spring with an infinity view overlooking the city and the inland sea. The check- in at the hotel is on 8F and the rooms are above that level, so there are no bad views. I was given Room 1802, a double bed room facing west, with a nice view over the station plaza and the bay. In fact I could see all the way to the ferry I was taking the next day from Beppu to Shikoku’s Yawatahama. The room was decorated in warm woodwork while the bathroom was very sleek and modern. The bathroom had the latest fixtures, very nice, and a good selection of amenities. Everything was spotless and everything also function perfectly. The room was very quiet and the bed was very comfortable, so I slept well. The internet was very fast here. The best feature was the amazing onsen. There were men’s and women’s spas, and the men’s included onsen inside (20th floor) and outside, on the top floor – with an “infinity view,” looking west across the station plaza, to distant Mount Tsurumi, Beppu, and the adjacent bay. It was the most impressive hotel onsen I have yet to see. The view is amazing. That view, plus the hot, soothing waters, will put any stress to bed. Unlike many hotel O Furo, this one gives you towels so you don’t have to bring your own. There is a bar / snack restaurant along with spa services / reception on the 19th floor. Breakfast was excellent. Guests were given a double- stack bento box with a kai-seki-like assortment of treats, and then there was the traditional buffet in addition. The chicken tempura (toriten) was especially delicate and tasty. I was not sure what was in the box, but it was all delicious – kind of Kai Seki meets Asa Gohan. Although it’s on 8F, the breakfast room looks out onto a nice garden and there’s a terrace where you can eat outside. The whole top of the station is a terrace with garden spots, a really top- class children’s railway, some shops which were not open when I went out and what looked like function rooms. The location is great, right in the center and you can get from the station to the hotel totally indoors. The AMU plaza shopping complex has a a lot of great stores, an extensive food court with many good choices, and of course several Knobinis. There are a number of good choices in Oita, but this hotel is way above the others in my opinion. Highly recommended.

Location is superb right next to JR and all the meaningful restaurants. It offers free ramen at late evening and it was a blessing. Like the staff - I was asking for direction for car ferry and they spent lots of time digging information for me - though info was not very effective and I ended up finding the info myself. And the Ibsen is really great - after a day of sightseeing, a real onsen makes a lot of different. Staff was nice and eager but English needs improvement, but already much better than others. I never got a room higher than the 3rd floor - not in this one nor in the Takamatsu one, nor at the Daiwa Ryonet. I’m like really not pleased as I’m a Marriott platinum, a Star Alliance lifetime gold and Booking.com Genius - how can I not get better treatment? If it’s just one time issue it’s fine. But I’m on the low 3rd floor every single day in every single hotel in the past five days - don’t think it’s just coincidence. Something is wrong and I’m not happy with it.
