0.29km from Old Port BarSuper clean place with a nice bed and extra’s that would fit in a high end hotel. Valeria is warm personality who knows how to serve hospitallity. She won’t be around the place, but is available anytime if you let her know. Breakfast was perfect. She asked for special requests and will spoil you with whatever you like. The place is located very central. The building is super old, just like the rest of the city. But nicely renovated. The room has AC and heating. Even floorheating in the bathroom. Nice flatscreen in the room and Kitchen. Don’t expect big Windows with a view. But if you go outside there is enough to see! The weekend I stayed here there where Some loud guest in the room next to us. So bring your earplugs.
0.29km from Old Port BarGreat hotel, the room was excellent! Huge King Size bed and very spacious. Beautiful bathroom, Italian style, huge with a bidet. Lovely, nice fluffy towels. Very clean. Loved it. The room looks out onto the harbour (Porto Antico), great view. There was a problem with the thermostat, room was too hot. No big deal but we couldn't get it fixed in time. The breakfast was very good, buffet syle, we enjoyed it. The dinner on the other hand was not so great. The fish was not so fresh, actually smelled and tasted fishy. The steak was not much to write home about, didn’t care for it so much. Due to Covid restrictions we didn’t have many dining choices. I don’t think we would eat dinner there again. However the service was excellent and the view of Porto Antico was great. Not to take away from the hotel itself, it’s excellent. The hotel is steps away from the Aquarium of Genova. Also steps away from the Piazza Principe. The Aquarium is a must see, the tour takes about 2.5 hours. Don't miss the dolphin feeding time! Amazing! We really liked NH Collection Genova Marina and will definitely return when we visit Genova again. Highly recommended.
0.29km from Old Port BarHotel located in perfect location very close to main attractions in Town. Room was clean and tidy, without air condition what was dreadful. By mistake booked room without bathroom had to go outside my room to have a shower but bathroom was small but ok.
0.29km from Old Port BarIf you visit Genoa, make sure you stay here. Simona contacted us before we arrived and although our check in time was 12.30, she met us at 9.30 to let us leave our bags until the room was ready. Thanks you Simona for being so thoughtful. The location is unbeatable. The room is clean and fresh with fresh towels and an awesome shower. Coffee and tea in the common area, all you need if you need to snack. You come out of the apartment block and you are in the midst of the hustle and bustle of this beautiful city. Restaurants and eateries within 5 minutes. The little alleys of shops and within walking distance of the main city centre. The Aquarium is right opposite as is the taxi rank Bus stop and Metro. This is the perfect location so don't miss out. We will be back 100%.
0.29km from Old Port BarLoved this hotel. Its very modern in styling but the building itself is old. We asked the hotel to arrange a taxi to meet us at the airport, he was waiting at arrivals and helped us with luggage. He took us as close as he could, then insisted on helping again to carry cases and show us the hotel. You actually check in in a hotel opposite. Excellent staff, helpful and friendly. The hotel is accessed via cards for the outer door, then the elevator, then your room. It felt very safe. The rooms are simple. We are travelling and use packing cubes but anyone wanting to unpack in a normal way may struggle. We had a triple, a large double downstairs and our son had a single on a mezzanine. Room was very quiet. There was a safe on our mezzanine. The AC was efficient, bathroom excellent. There is a small communal living area with tables, sofas and tea/coffee making facilities and biscuits in the afternoon. There is also a water machine with still or sparkling water with glasses and carafes to fill. Housekeeping excellent.Rooms very clean. Breakfast! Truly one of the best buffets I have seen, just about anything was presented and rapidly refilled before empty. Excellent! To leave , we again asked the hotel to arrange a taxi, I think the best option. Only negative , is that whilst Genoa in general is a place to be very streetwise, there were a couple of very sketchy alleyways to the north and east of the hotel. OK in day time, but best avoided at night. We did use them though at night but avoided afterwards, you get to know the better alleys! Don't let this put you off, the hotel otherwise is in an amazing central position, and I doubt its much different elsewhere.
0.3km from Old Port BarWonderful hotel in an old palazzo. Perfect location for walking to the major attractions of Genoa (the aquarium and waterfront, the many palazzos along Via Garibaldi, Palazzo Reale, etc. Rooms are modern, spacious and well equipped and the breakfast was excellent, with changing homemade pastries and breads every day. Service was excellent as well - when we found our showerhead broken they fixed it in an hour and brought us a gift of a panettone to apologize for any inconvenience. I will only add one caution for those of more delicate sensibilities. To get to some of the attractions (especially up to Via Garibaldi), you will need to navigate some of the narrow, old alleys/streets that have a bit of a ... reputation. Yes, we did walk past women lingering outside who seemed to be of a particular occupation and some gentlemen who might have dealt in the trade of certain substances. But none of them bothered us at all, I never felt in any risk or danger, just do as the locals do and walk along to your destination. I would still not hesitate to stay here again on a future trip to Genoa.

0.33km from Old Port BarWe have just come back from a mini week end in Genova. We stayed at Hôtel de Ville (why not Hotel de la Ville?). The hotel is new and it is located in two floors of an old Palazzo modernly restores just in front of the old harbor. This area has become in the last years one of the best in town, with the famous aquarium, restaurants, cinemas...The streets of the elegant shoppingare 10 minutes walk away while the famous Vicoli (the little streets of the old town) are just behind. The hotel is all decorated in beige, grey and brown tones and all around there is a beautiful collection of travel posters and affiches (if they are all original they must have cost a fortune)! Our room was huge and comfortable with a beautiful view on the harbor. Of course there is the “sopraelevata” (a busy and noisy highway) in between but the soundproof is excellent. Breakfast was ok. We went with a Smartbox and the voucher included an Aperitivo, which was tasty. But why not having a simple crodino,in Italy?
Hotels Near Old Port Bar In Genoa Review
Well, this is exactly what you can expect: take a look to the real pictures. This is a great example of a perfect corruption in the tourism public administration. How is possible to keep 4 stars !!! No words to describe the conditions of this hotel... not even a half star. Breakfast ??? C’mon... industrial ugly croissants and bottles of orange juice. Lots of military troops and shipping crews. By the way... no hot water in the shower but very cold. A nightmare. And no more hotel rooms available on that dates in Genoa due to a medical congress.

The Novotel Genova City is a fine place to stay if you are to catch a cruise ship. If, like us, you are thinking of walking into the old town to see the sights, forget it - the traffic is a nightmare and the area around the hotel is pretty unappealing. There didn’t seem to be anything open nearby on a Wednesday night. Checkin staff were polite and friendly - what we have come to expect from most Novotels in which we’ve stayed. The room was fine. The ambience in the bar was OK but the drinks were fabulous. We ordered a couple of martinis (you have to ask for a ‘Martini cocktail’ in Italy or you’ll get a vermouth) and enjoyed them so much, we had to order two more. I think the barman’s name was Marco - thanks for a fabulous martini cocktail. With nothing open nearby, we decided to eat in the hotel restaurant - good move. The 25€ buffet looked pretty ordinary so we decided on a la carte. We ordered a bulgar salad, a pasta with pesto (Trofie alla Genovese) and a costate de bovino. The salad and the pasta were delicious and the bowl was deep so we both got some to eat. The steak was perfect with baked potatoes. Breakfast next morning was not bad but, unfortunately, the coffee was disgusting.
The hotel location is very good and very clean. This hotel has stayed 4 or 5 times. It was not very pleasant. The room was very small and it was less than 10 square meters. It was not the standard room I booked, but the front desk insisted on the room type I ordered. I showed him to me. After booking the room type, he said that he is now full and there is no room to change. I said that it will be changed tomorrow. He said that they are all full. Later, although I changed it after Ctrip, it was very uncomfortable.
The hotel is very near to the train station, however the hotel street is very quiet, so you almost forget about that.
The room had plenty of space and was clean. Good value for the price, would stay more nights.
Conveniently located near a very nice shopping area, this hotel is comfortable. Despite the room was very small (approx 50 cm of space around a queen size bed), it was comfortable. Very quiet, very good quality of sleep. What I liked most and that to me is very high value are the complimentary mini bar and complimentary tea and coffee in the room. Yes, everything that you find in the mini bar is complimentary: water, sodas, snacks are completely free of charge. Bed is comfortable, room is clean, shower with strong regenerating pressure. Breakfast is good. Staff is nice. Again my room was very small, with a very very small wardrobe. It was enough for me because I was staying only two days spending very little time in the room. If I had to stay longer, the wardrobe would have not been be big enough accomodate clothes for more than two days and if I had to spend more time in the room I would have ended with becoming claustrophobic. I assume there are bigger rooms, so if you are two people or you need to stay longer than two days, reserve a bigger room or you won't fit in the room.
