I have spent two nights here on my way back from Patmos. The structure is amazing, decor is contemporary, sleek and functional. Unfortunately I booked a sea side room to avoid the main street but in reality the room is on a corner facing the main street with 3 windows and only one on the side. The result was that the room is very noisy (trucks and cars going to port 24/7) and on top of that you are charged extra for the side view. As we realized the noisy street we asked for another room but we were not given any alternative even if there were available rooms on major website (at a much lower price than what we paid - see pictures). The available rooms were faxing the sea and 80€ cheaper. We were not offered any solution. We were told “it’s fully booked” and “it’s a city hotel what do your expect?” (verbatim). The stay was good, great mattress which help your sleepless hours because of the noise; the breakfast is good too and the restaurant does good food in an elegant environment on the beach. Restaurant staff are s great. The potential of the place is amazing, but there’s a lot to go in terms of customer service for a 5 star hotel (little note, we had to take our heavy bags to the room by ourselves which I consider a basic service for such a hotel). My suggestion: don’t book here in advance, make sure the room is a silent one

You get what you pay for - which is not much. Hotel location was ok, near to the beach. The area and hotel view otherwise wasn’t so good as there was other dilapidated apartments very close facing our balcony. The elevator was not working for the entire time we stayed so we had to carry all the heavy luggage to upper floors. No help from staff so note this if you’re not able to carry your luggage by yourself! Toilets didn’t work very well and and the floor was flooding after shower. There was also a LOT of pigeons flying around the windows and balcony. Apparently also inside the apartment and the cleaning was done badly as there was some excrement left on the windowsills and furnitures on balcony.

We had a short stay here at the end of May (Monday - Friday) and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We would have loved to stay longer and experience more of what the hotel had to offer, but from what we did see - it was brilliant. First of all, the reception staff were so polite and efficient. We asked for late checkout as soon as we arrived as our flight home wasn’t until 11pm. We checked out at 6pm at an extra charge and were moved to a different room which was just as lovely. Our main room was a sea view bungalow. We originally booked a garden view but I upgraded this and the room itself was gorgeous. Perfectly clean, white throughout. The bathroom was really spacious and we had a nice outside area to chill of an evening. The main restaurant was lovely with a great selection each day. All staff were really attentive and friendly. I’d recommend trying out the a la carte restaurants too. The Greek one was phenomenal! All bar staff were friendly - I’d recommend the adult only bar of a night time. Our first night there was great with table service and it was relatively quiet so service was quick. However on other nights it was much busier, with only one waitress and the wait for service was a lot longer. The pools are all lovely. We didn’t have chance to use the pool with the swim up bar - unfortunately all beds were taken really early so we missed out. The staff did put signs up after our first day to say any beds reserved before 9am will be removed by staff - this didn’t happen. Definitely get up early to get your sun bed! The beds by the Greek restaurant were so comfortable with thick cushions! We went on 1 boat trip during our stay - the 3 islands. It was a really good trip, with lunch included and cocktails only 5 euros. The reception staff booked this for us and we were picked up and dropped off back at the hotel. Overall, it was a great experienced and we’d definitely stay again. Thank you!

The price was very good for the apartment which had 2 bedrooms a kitchenette with fridge and kettle but no cooking facilities which suited us very well . cereal and fruit is all we needed for breakfast and then eat out for evening meal. A bathroom with shower. Towels changes every couple of days. Maid service every day emptying bins and tidying bed. which were changed twice during our 10 day stay. No Tv available and no seating area or lounge just the 2 bedrooms. We had a big balcony with sun from morning till night which was wonderful although not private as you could see all the other guests on theirs.Good English breakfast available which we enjoyed. Snacks throughout the day. Only 5 minutes walk down to the beach where there are plenty of bars and restaurants. It was fairly quiet coming to the end of the season but open everywhere. Staff at Origin very friendly especially Tigga who, worth her weight in gold,. was amazing always there to greet and have a chat. Everywhere was clean. The pool was appreciated and sunbeds always available, cold yes but i loved it. Aircon on was an extra cost but we didn't use it. It's on a main road so can be quite noisy if balcony doors are kept open. Payment for safe was not refunded it was a one off payment . Masks were only necessary when going into shops but staff had to wear them most of the time. Hand sanitizer available everywhere and encouraged. Felt very safe re Coronavirus precautions and preparations. All in all Origin is a fun place to stay great location great price so would probably return there again if returning to Kardamena.

We stayed here in June for 7 nights, booking through TUI. When we arrived we were greeted by a lovely man who helped us take our suitcases to our room via golf buggy after we had some welcome drinks. As we arrived late, we missed dinner so the hotel told us they had put sandwiches in our fridge which was a nice gesture. The next day we got up and had breakfast making our way down to the pool about 9:30am. All the loungers were gone… luckily we managed to find some eventually but it’s understandable they were all taken as everyone wants to get a great sunbathing view of the spectacular scenery from the infinity pool. As we were half board, we decided not to buy drinks on the holiday and stick to water, however we were shocked to find out that the only water which was given free was the original bottle of water in our room (which we drank straight away due to being hot and bothered from our 2hr coach journey). The hotel were charging €1.50 for a tiny bottle of water. We ventured to the local shop and it wasn’t much cheaper there either. At the end of the day we went to the room feeling extremely faint due to not wanting to be ripped off by the price of water! The next day we decided to upgrade to AI which was €32 per person per day extra. Seems a lot but when you factor the price of water & drinks for half board guests, it’s worth it. Well, the treatment we received now we had a wristband was incredible. Completely different experience. Anyone thinking of going half board, don’t, you’ll have a much better experience all inclusive. Staff at the pool bar extremely helpful and can’t do enough for you. The whole pool experience was so relaxing but as I said, I’d you want a sun-bed with the view (not a beanbag) then you’ll need to be up by 7am. We don’t usually reserve sunbeds but unfortunately we had to as we wanted to enjoy our holiday, if some people do it, everyone does it. The hotel do need to enforce their 45 min rule a bit more. They do aqua gym every day, however, it’s the same playlist and routine.. every..single..day… gets slightly boring. Room - we were in room 1212, it’s quite tired compared to some of the newer rooms. We had friends who let us use their room on our last day to get sorted instead of using the courtesy room and their room was much more modern, brighter, USB ports. If we knew this we would have upgraded rooms. We didn’t use the shower once as it was quite frankly awful.. however having a bath was a plus, something the newer rooms don’t have. The balcony was lovely to sit out on in the evening. The entertainment & lobby bar - WOW. Brilliant entertainment and the service in this bar is excellent. This was hands down the highlight of our evening. The Asian and the Mediterranean are fantastic. However, we both agreed the Asian is top due to the fast service. We would definitely stay again, but would consider a different room next time.
