My wife and I stayed for two nights at the Ranch at Laguna Beach in December of 2021, and had a very good experience. This was a Covid-era visit, so there were some understanble restrictions, but nothing to impair the enjoyment of the hotel. Here's the good news. The hotel is beautiful, with elegant common spaces and very nice rooms. It's low-slung and comfortable, like staying at a resort. They have music on the outdoor patio in the afternoons, and a a beautiful deck for breakfast in the mornings. They have a nice pool, which we didn't use becasue it was winter, a spa that we also didn't use, and a golf course which we didn't use, not being golfers, but which was popular with others. There's really very little bad news. The hotel is on the outskirts of the cute little beach town that is Laguna Beach. You won't walk to anything, which means getting into your car for every outing. In our case we brought our bikes and used them every day to do things, but note the following: Laguna Beach is not really a bike-friendly town. Most trips require that you either start or finish on the busy and fast Pacific Coast Highway. We did it, but it won't be fun for the faint-of-heart. If you're going to Laguna and you want an elegant, laid-back and restful holiday, you won't be disappointed by the Ranch.

Due to the emergency evacuation from the wildfire, I booked it on Ctrip, and I was able to move in before 3 o'clock. During the epidemic, the room was cleaned and sealed, and when it was disinfected with alcohol, it felt that it was disinfected before cleaning, and it could smell on the remote control. There are Starbucks in the surrounding area, a mall not far away, and a supermarket. There is in&out on the opposite side of Highway 5. Obviously the surrounding area is a good area. Parking is free.

This was by far my favorite place to stay in Laguna and possibly all of California. The room was quiet, comfortable, and chic. Soft bed, beautiful bathroom , great kitchenette. The decor was modern and tasteful. The television actually had all the channels that a smart tv should have. The location was perfect! Easy parking, and walking distance from the best beach in Laguna, a Gelsons market, many great restaurants . WOW! No need to drive once you arrive. The hotel provides each room with beach chairs and an umbrella . The staff was friendly, and Chris ( who booked us in ) was amazing! The Laguna Beach Lodge understands what a vacation is about, I hope to go back soon. Thanks

There’s nothing quite like The Montage Laguna Beach. The staff is incredibly welcoming especially the pool staff which is where we spend the most of our time. The food is always delicious with my favorites being the ahi ceviche and steak tacos. The bar mixes tasty cocktails that are easily modified to non-alcoholic versions. If you cannot get to Hawaii go here, the views are beautiful. This is always my pick when we need a quick getaway. Thank you Paul, Haley, Luis, and the rest of the Montage staff for going above and beyond to make our stay better than we could have imagined. This is why we keep coming back!!!

My wife and I visited to celebrate her birthday and we can not recommend the Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach enough. This was our first visit to to a Waldorf Astoria and we were very impressed with the properties great views, location with plenty of walking trails, and the town of Dana Point itself. Even more impressive was just how much the staff cared about being sure our stay was perfect from an upgraded room at checkin and then each person’s care and professionalism along the way. In room breakfast dining was also wonderful- we are still talking about the Acai bowl and waffle with citrus mascarpone and berry compote. highly recommend!

This is a charming boutique hotel with character and history. The gardens are magnificent and create a soothing and lovely environment to relax. We stayed for three nights prior to heading to a wedding in Palm Springs. The attention to detail is exceptional and the service and attitude of the staff stands out. The employees exude a happiness at work that I have not experienced in other hotel stays. Bradley the chef - prepared delicious meals, Dan attended to any requests - and we had very few - as they thought of everything. My massage by Louise was perfect - she is skilled with superior technique in her treatment. All of the staff truly went above and beyond. Jonathan, Natalie, Kristen and Steve. (Only negative remark - don’t stay here if you want elevators, a large modern lobby entrance and lots of stimulation and a party atmosphere at the pool. ) The pool is relaxing, quiet and a lovely space to relax and read. We will be back again.

My wife and I had a two night get-away from the kids. We chose the Ritz because we wanted a luxary resort on the beach away from the craziness of the city. The resort is situated on a cliff with an easy 5 minute walk down the 150 elevation (per my garmin watch) to the ocean. We ended up booking a regular room with a garden view and was able to upgrade to an ocean view at checkin for minimal extra cost. Room and amenities. The view from the room was amazing. The room is actually feels a lot bigger than it looks online. The room and facilities were very clean. One negative is the balcony which is very small. It barely fits two chairs and a table…… not a deal breaker though. The gym was spacious with lots of equipment. My wife loved the fact that there were kettlebells and other plyo equipment to work out with. The view from the gym, overlooking the beach, was amazing and inspiring. We spent time at the pool. Pool was fine. However, we had to call room service to order any food or drinks….. they had no dedicated servers or stations to take orders. That was a hassle but not the end of the world. Food. During those three days, we ended up eating at all four restuarants. Enosteak was definately as advertised. Food was great. I had the server pair my steak with an appropriate wine and was not disappointed. 180Blu is an amazing location with a view to die for. We must of sat there for hours taking in the view while have some drinks. One negative is very limited food menu in 180Blue. But honestly, after relaxing with a few drinks while enjoying the view, it really didn’t matter. It is first come first serve, so be mindful of that. Raya we had for brunch both days. Both meals were we enjoyable. Service. Overall the service was excellent……. in regards to promptness, friendliness, helpfulness, etc. Everyone from the fron desk, to the dining servers, cleaning staff, etc. When calling the front desk to request more towels, as an example, they were very prompt and within 5 minutes, we received them. A specific example….. we were asked multiple times what the occaision for our stay was. We said it was our aniversary. We didn’t think anything of it. At the end of our meal (this happed serveral times), we received a celebratory desert from the staff. One last touch that really impressed us. Water bottles. They were very generous with them and without charge. We had easy access to them, wheather it was from the gym refrigerator or the multiple bottles they leave for us in the room.

Would never stay here again! We had to contact the front desk twice within an hour of check in. Tub jets were disgusting. Sand in tub bottom of tub. Drain in tub clogged. Spot of what appeared to be blood in tub. Large stain on white duvet. Housekeeping came late the night we checked in (after a long day of travel) to change bedding and clean tub with bleach. The next day I asked for tub to be cleaned again as tub jets were still filthy and stain was still in tub. Maintenance came and drain was still not working. We basically had to stand in dirty water while we showered the whole weekend. I spoke to the hotel manager who comped about 1/3 of the cost of our stay for the weekend. We appreciate this, but the complete lack of cleanliness during a global pandemic was alarming. The area was gorgeous. We loved the balcony in our room. There were a lot of stairs to get to or from our room, that could be an issue for some guests.

All was okay at this older hotel for sleeping, nothing fancy, but right next to the beach SO GREAT LOCATION. There was only one problem ---it was absolutely freezing at night in our room, and our room had NO HEAT only a portable heater unit after I called the front desk. When I called in the middle of the night freezing, I thought they were joking when they said there was no heat for the room! I think he may have said some rooms have heat, others do not, but cannot remember for sure.

Recently traveled to the Laguna Beach area for a wedding. I must say the location of the Inn at Laguna Beach is in a wonderful spot. Just a short walk to shops, restaurants & the beach. Check in was quick and easy, the beds were extremely comfortable and everyone at the front desk was extremely nice and helpful. Overall we had a very enjoyable stay. The only two negatives I have were 1.) the $40/night parking charge seems a bit steep. It would be nice if it were included seeing as a standard room went for $375 per night. And 2.) on the same note regarding the $375/night price I really shouldn't have seen two tears in the carpet and a crack in the sink. For that money the rooms should be spotless. Certain parts of the hotel definitely could use some updating. Our room being one of them.

The room provides the minimum functionality for a stay. At $240 USD per night per guest (Single bed, including taxes and a $20 USD “resort” fee) seems according to the Laguna Beach area. The property is walking distance from the ocean and very nice restaurants. ROOM There seems to be an effort to have this hotel looking like an old villa, with tankless toilets, sink and vanity top outside the bathroom, heavy wood furniture, etc. My particular room had a view to a Jack in the Box drive-through, hopefully other can see the ocean. ROOM AMENITIES There were 2 USB chargers by the bed and only one worked. Another one by the desk. A couple of outlets by the sink outside the bathroom. There is a safe, a small fridge and a portable A/C unit in case it gets too hot. I’m personally not a fan of portable A/C units but surely will come handy in mid-August. In May cracking the window open was enough. SERVICE As expected, rooms are not cleaned unless requested or after checking-out, to conserve water. When plumbers started hammering hard metal pipes from midnight until 4am and disrupted my sleep, I called the front desk. They were very nice and extended a 30% discount for that night and a bottle of water. #ruizmedina⭐️

Our family of 4 was extremely pleased with the Laguna beach house. Cozy with a “beach” feel we loved it! Staff was amazing and beyond friendly. Beds were so comfortable and the room had ample space for all of our gear. Beach equipment was readily accessible when we needed it and the happy hour is a wonderful way to meet others who love the LBH! We will be back!
