The hotel is located in the hot spring resort estate on the outskirts of Hanamaki City. There are a total of three hot spring hotels here, and Ka Shuen is the latest and most advanced.     The building is very beautiful and corresponds to the surrounding mountains. After breakfast, take a walk in the mountain park around the hotel, even at the end of July. Under the small waterfall, foreign children are playing in the water, and there are signs and bells of the police bears along the way. Really the original ecology.     Because we arrived late, we only chose the hotel's breakfast. The breakfast is quite satisfactory, almost the same as the price of a Japanese-style hotel. It is recommended that everyone book a breakfast and dinner together when ordering a room. If you do not make a reservation, it seems that you can only go to the restaurant next door, although it is also a family. But it is very troublesome.     The hotel is clean and tidy and the rooms are spacious. The hot spring is a hydrogen carbonate spring, the spring is clear, and the bathhouse equipment is readily available. Plus, so I went to soak in the morning and evening. I don't know if it was accumulated in Japan after a few days of hot springs, or it was particularly effective in this hot spring. I found that the acne and small particles on the back were gone, smooth and silky.     At the entrance to the hot spring manor, I saw a drug store, if you are interested, you can go and see.     I feel very comfortable here for a holiday and a relaxing weekend. It will take 3 hours to fly from Shanghai.     Finally, the hotel is a 20-minute drive from Hanamaki Airport, and the Hanamaki Airport is only 2 small souvenir shops. Therefore, it is recommended that people who go to the Hanamaki Airport should be one and a half hours in advance.     Ps. The staff of the hotel is very low in English and it is quite troublesome.

12 years ago, my wife and I had our wedding at Watari Onsen & on 9/13, we returned for a 1-night stay. Our room was small, but the onsen space was huge. I loved the outdoor pool and bubbling hot pool inside. The hotel was quiet and it was easy to relax at. There was a shuttle bus that picked up at Hanamaki train station and there is a city bus stop 6-7 minute walk away if you want to go back into town. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. Unfortunately, they provided us with an incorrect bus time back into Hanamaki, so they arranged for a hotel van to take us into the city for the festival. The breakfast was buffet style breakfast with typical Japanese fare. Strong recommend.

Hotel Folkloro has for years delivered simple comforts and excellent service, a notable find in Towa, a rural little farm village. The hotel is a little getaway right off the highway and a walk from the local train station, which is an easy 10-15 minutes' ride from the Tohoku shinkansen line. A great location for visiting anywhere in Tsuchizawa (the little village, with one lovely coffee shop, local pub, local restaurant, farm shops, etc.) and the museums in the area. I have stayed several times over the past dozen years, and I frequently visited the adjacent hot springs for years before that. Hotel Folkloro is a small rural hotel (now incorporated into a small chain), but delivers bigger town quality service and is very well maintained. The rooms are neatly done and have all necessary elements, but they are fairly basic and some can be narrow -- at least, narrower than my expectations in a farm village where space shouldn't come at a huge premium. Bathrooms feel cramped, but the whole point is to ignore the tub, put on the robe & slippers, and go soak the hot springs down the hall. Also, they have REALLY fast internet if you connect by ethernet cable in the lobby, where there are little desks. I've done serious work from there... in a robe. I can't remember how good the wifi is. The little local touches and public areas are what stand out to me: good personalised service, clean and neat everything, natural wood and minimalist toned interior design, two hilarious pet goats in a little fenced area in the back, super comfy couches to melt into and read a book around windows overlooking simple manicured landscaping and rice fields, quiet and clean air and nature all around, a little shop with delicious high-quality local snacks like ice cream from the nearby dairy and handmade gifts, a lovely fresh breakfast buffet run by the same the husband & wife for many years, a surprisingly extensive menu and nice little bar stocking local beer... and of course, down the hallway (which itself is not so nice... just a covered walkway, chilly in cold seasons) there is the hot springs around which the hotel was built. An authentic local experience, it's small but well maintained, the water is excellent (and considered medicinal), and you'll be alongside local residents just coming in for a morning bath. Women and men alternate sides, and the rotenburu outdoor area is especially nice in the winter when the snow is falling. The masseur in residence is also excellent. (The food at the restaurant in the hot springs is not great... just go back to the hotel, or across the parking lot there is a small freestanding restaurant offering locally sourced food.)

I chose this hotel after I read a travel blog. The blogger introduced this hotel and I like every part of it. That’s why I arrived at the hotel early, right after the check-in time, so that I could enjoy the facilities longer. The hotel is a small onsen hotel. Its sister hotel next door is a very large one with a lot of guests and a water park. The guests of Yusen Shidate can go to the sister hotel through an indoor passage and enjoy the onsen there. If you choose Yusen, you may not like the other hotel as it is too crowded. There are only around 20 rooms in Yusen. Every time I went to the public onsen, I did not soak with other guests in the bathhouse. It may be due to the fact that every room has an outdoor private onsen. There is also a foot bath and two massage chairs. I had a room on the third floor. All the rooms overlook the stream in front of the hotel. As I mentioned before, there is an outdoor onsen in each room. I enjoyed it very much. I also like to sit on the balcony, listening to the tumbling of the stream. The dinner and breakfast are all served in separate rooms for different parties of guests. It is the best onsen dinner and breakfast I had during this trip.

This is a good place to stay for travellers wanting to experience sleeping on tatami, having a kaiseki dinner served in your room by a lovely kimono clad lady, onsen - both mixed and segregated or a private one in your own bathroom. Rooms facing the river are large, with a separate shower / bath,wc and vanity. All new and very clean. Dinners served in room with breakfast in the dining area. Rates (half board = dinner+breakfast) are reasonable for the facilities compared to some I’ve experienced. All onsen facilities are clean in Sansuikaku. There’s also a coin laundromat. You can buy lunch at the little restaurant. Go for walks around the hotel grounds. One of the managers speaks English and all the staff are very pleasant, friendly and helpful. Easily accessible- either use the hotel shuttle from Hanamaki or ShinHanamaki. I used the bus from Hanamaki (because of my train schedule), 620 ¥ (Hanamaki -Osawa Onsen),weaving thru a non descript town and finally on to the countryside. When you exit the train station, go towards the right hand side where the buses depart. The stop is the last one closest to the main road. There’s a lovely gentleman at Hanamaki station who speaks excellent English and he made sure I was at the right stop. On the return journey you can either use the shuttle or take the bus. The bus stop is right outside the hotel complex. This part of the country doesn’t get crowded and they appreciate tourists. So go visit. Oh, there are cherry blossoms/sakura on this property, so you can kill several birds with one stone! Or in winter you’ll experience snow.......

This onsen hotel is enveloped snugly in a forest which reflects the changes of the seasons. The building itself features the same type of construction as that used in Japan's traditional shrines and temples, featuring lattice patterns, coffered ceilings and other pleasing works of craftsmanship.check-in time: 15:00check-out time: 10:00

Half of hotel is ryokan, other half is called TOUJIBU (unhealthy, dirty, abandonned-looking side) Caution before booking, they dont show any picture ore description of TOUJIBU on any reservation site. You book RYOKAN and when you come they bring you to TOUJIBU. Had to argue 30 minutes showing them my reservation at RYOKAN and not TOUJIBU. Finally forced to exchanged 2 nights reservation vs 1 night reservation for RYOKAN for same price ! Staff refused to provide 2 nights as per reservation ! Filled complain on western reservation website ! TOUJIBU -parking 500 m away on a hill -Heating = 500 yen more. Facility not heated at all! -Towell = 500 yen more -Heavy dirt -Abandonned feel -Shared toilets not maintained -Shared bathroom not well maintained -Cooking facility. Heavy dirt Ryokan -Rude staff -Not well heated -Shared toilets -Shared bathroom -Food not meeting standard expectations -Nobody at reception during night -Price about 100% higher than real value. You can book much much better at this price and for this location. Run away.
