      My wife and I had the privilege of visiting Beaumont for a family reunion, and chose this motel for the location and the pet-friendly aspect. The front staff was cordial and helpful. I rather liked the fact that we had to enter through a lobby instead of a room door facing the parking lot. It seems quieter this way. The room had a peculiar odor, but that was the scent of two plug-ins. I unplugged one and that improved it. A flat-screen was parked in front of the TV screen mounted on the wall, so I had to move it out of the way. Other than that, the room served its purpose. When you enter off the U-turn from I-10, be sure to enter the driveway right next to the gas station next door or you'll have to go all the way to the next major intersection for another try. There are plenty of food choices on College Blvd east of I-10. Coronamania has affected everything, including room service and breakfast choices, dining, and so on. I get it. I just wish more service-oriented establishments would declare themselves panic-free and start providing service the old-fashioned way: change the towels, open up the breakfast nook, get rid of the plastic shields, etc.

      Our stay was very enjoyable and this is a very convenient location right off the freeway which made it very easy to get to this Super 8 . This hotel is very close to so excellent restaurants and the breakfast was nice and enjoyable. We were greeted nicely at check-in and very understanding that we had to leave earlier than expected. We will always stay at these Whindam Super 8 Our travels.

      I don't expect a red carpet to be rolled out for me when I arrive at a hotel. I do, however, expect a warm smile and a friendly greeting from the staff at the front desk. At this hotel I received neither. The lady who "greeted" me seemed bothered by my being there. She was smiling watching the lobby television when I walked in. As soon as she had to speak to me her demeanor changed completely. Got checked in (free night from Chase IHG card) and went to our small room. It was fairly clean but the refrigerator did not work nor did a few light bulbs. Not a big deal so I didn't mention it. As we were leaving the hotel for dinner my wife got an alert on her phone that we had been charged the full amount for our room on our credit card. Since it was booked as a free night I went back to the front desk for help. The lady at the front desk actually told me that she didn't know how to fix it. I asked her to please call a manager. She told me she would not call the manager and that I could talk to the manager in the morning at 8AM when they came in. I asked her to call IHG and she told me that I could but she wouldn't! I finally did and they eventually connected me back to the lady at the front desk of the hotel. After I explained to her what I had been told she hung up on me. No Help at all. Next morning a new lady was at front desk and was very friendly. I explained what had happened night before and she did not seem surprised but was apologetic. She told me she would relay everything to the manager since they had were over an hour late getting to work at this point. I expected to hear something from the manager that day but never did. I eventually received an email 4 days later saying that "we will address your comments appropriately". I would not recommend staying at this hotel as you will not have an advocate if you have any problems during your stay. I have spent hundreds of nights in IHG hotels and have never had such a terrible experience.
