Back in April I booked flights for my Wife & I to Genoa.....basically because of the price. Then came the problem of where to base ourselves. After hours of perusing different websites I plumped for Varazze & the Hotel Coccodrillo. Because there were few recent reviews it was a gamble but how wrong was I in that assumption. This Hotel was first class, friendly, clean, welcoming, a plentiful breakfast & a great pool. It is older & smallish but it had a great feel to it, we loved it. Varazze was fabulous. Enough to keep you occupied with plenty of bars & restaurants available. The Marina is another attractive feature of the town, easily linked to the main resort. The great thing with our holiday is that we did'nt encounter anyone else from the UK in the 10 days we were there, funnily enough, just what the doctor ordered. For days out, Genoa is 45 minutes away with Savona, a hidden gem, just 11 minutes away, both easily accessible by train. We walked to Cogoleto along the reclaimed coastal path, a beautiful walk with lovely little coves to enjoy on the way. Mostly we strolled & enjoyed the town itself, a drink, some food, Italian Ice Creams, really what more could we have wanted. Special mention to Blakes Bar on the way back to the hotel. Not the most welcoming from the outside, inside it looks rather gloomy but this is where we had our late night Gin & Lemons. Again looks are deceiving, but again we were made very welcome by the bar staff & locals alike, always a great way to end the night. Would we visit again? Without a shadow of doubt, a fabulous holiday. Thank You Varazze & thank you Hotel Coccodrillo, you gave us a lovely break. Oh, one special mention to Davide & the staff in the Restaurant, you were superb, friendly & attentive. Thank You all.

We really liked the service, rooms were cleaned every day with a great care about us as guests during Covid-19, the food at breakfast was great and always fresh. The Owner is a great man and his wife is lovely. The run the hotel together with a good team. The stuff is very friendly. We enjoyed the stay at the Le Roi Hotel and every night we eat at the restaurant as well. Very pleasant!

The room and bathroom were tiny but quite clean. Although the hotel locates near the coast, the windows and balconies have a view to the roof of the lower floor which was disappointing. Also you could not enjoy the fresh air inside the room when some body smokes in neighboring room. The breakfast was not very interesting but worth the money. The entrance to the building smells terribly of deep fryer oil. The walls between the rooms seem to be made out of paper and sleeping was impossible when you get loud and noisy neighbors. The staff were friendly and care about you when you did not check in till late evening.

I travel a lot, rarely posting reviews for the hotels I`m staying in. However, in this particular case I will spend my time. Maybe I would help someone to avoid the same experience. - FIRE SAFETY. Single (!) fire exit is in the end of the corridor (actually it is the stairs of the hotel). The rooms on the other side have no exit, only the balconies, that do not have fire ladders. In case of fire there is no space for firefighters engine and equipment as all nearby, i.e. parking, is full by cars. Anticipating possible administration reply, fire safety standards are essentially the same in their basic requirements all over Europe. . Dirty..everywhere..stairs, hall, suite. We have found our suite full of dust.. up and under the bed, in and on the wardrobe, crumbs near the nightstands, fatty imprints on furniture and windows. We’ve informed the reception of the matter. Finally, the suite was so-called cleaned, however only for the visible dust! And it remained so, dirty, day by day. . we have found our car parked in front of the hotel full of stucked dirt (hair, garbage) that was thrown of the balconies. . Guest Relations. Actually responses to negative rewievs given by the hotel administration would easily provide you an idea of how the guests are treated here. Not to mention promises done circa 2-3 years ago were never provided, e.g. cleanliness. Even now on the same-subject reviews, responses are still the same «we are getting this kind of claims for the first time» and «all other guests are satisfied » (mmm ...) . You will hear every movement around. At around 8 a.m. the cleaning lady was slamming the doors. The hotel windows are equipped with the window blinds that are rolled up and down enormously noisy. . Breakfast is poor. Bread was almost always raw, cutlery is not dried properly and seems dirty and you always have to search for the plates and cups around. . The Elevator is very very tiny and when broken gave a hard scent of something burned. . Parking and garage are tiny, be ready to leave the keys of your car at your own risk to the someone at the host desk .Wi-Fi on the third floor does not exist (for some years, as I get now reading the earlier comments). We’ve informed the reception, but nothing was done. In 2018 you may easily find Wi-Fi round and about…and its not ok in a four-star hotel with a total cost of circa 1,5 EUR for 7 nights? Really? Location is nearby the sea, BUT almost all hotels have a good location in Varazze. My advice is to find something more reliable and safe around. 4 stars in this case influence only the cost.

The Ariston Hotel was a lovely headquarters for a 12 day stay in Acqui Terme. Our room was clean, comfortable, with a spacious bathroom and plenty of drawers and closet space. The staff was excellent. Extremely helpful and accommodating! Meals were well prepared with a lot of variety. The hotel is conveniently located near the center of town, within walking distance of shopping, historical sites, restaurants, etc. We would definitely stay there again!

First you need to know that I have worked for an international airlines for over twenty four years. I have literally traveled around the world and mainly stay at four to five star hotels. I am also very hard to impress. This hotel and staff are amazing. It offers a great location to everything, with a beach about five blocks away..I plan to visit Italy every year, and this is the only place I would like to stay at. Not to put the other hotels down, because they also looked very nice, however this is the place I would like to be at. I absolutely loved the Adriana hotel. Perfect, perfect, perfect!
