We stayed here for 3 nights. The location is not very central, by central I mean close to the old city, but it is very easy to go from here to the city center by bus (bus station is 2 min away from the hotel). The train station is also close by and in case you come by car it is very easy to find a free parking spot. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel, neither did we use the jacuzzi on the terrace. The room was good, with AC which was a must during summer time. The bed was big and comfortable and the staff were always very friendly and helpful. The hotel is also not far away from the highway, so it is easy to visit other places without having to go through the butt center. If you want to stay a couple of days in this area, I definitely recommend it.

A great hotel for visiting Verona with free parking onsite. The staff very friendly and helpful in giving directions to places to see and they have a free buss that takes you into the historic part of the city or you can walk 20 - 25 minutes. They have a restaurant in the hotel as well as a great bar . Try one of the best cappuccino’s I have had while in Italy, made by Aurora! She is a great host who speaks English very well. The breakfast was included and was typical European fare with fresh pastries, cold cuts, cheeses , fruit and yogurt etc. And that perfect cappuccino! A reasonably priced hotel that has been renovated, very safe area and clean. We would recommend it for both Vacation as well as business travellers.

The hotel is modern and clean, perfect for their 3 stars. The breakfast was the ultra basics, but hey, its included. The staff was very friendly. We booked it because we wanted something near the train station since we were going to be arriving one afternoon and leaving the next one, all by train. I saw the location rating really high and didn’t bother to read much more. I thought it was neaar the station, its actually part of it. To get to the hotel you have to go through some inner courtyards of the station, its a little bit creepy, you can get in and out though a different exit but they told us (and there where also written signs) that it wasn’t very safe. The streets around the station are not the nicest, at night we saw people sleeping in the station. I wouldn’t recommend it for women on their own. The rooms were good, well heated and it even had a bidet. The location is convenient but strange.

Very friendly staff, the breakfast buffet is really good, big variety of choices. The customer service was really good. The beds were very comfortable. The only negative I can comment about this hotel is that the rooms are very outdated. It made me go back to the 70's, but the rooms were clean. Linens, towels were all great. For the price and location you can't beat the price.

I am very pleased with my choice to stay in this hotel, it really met my expectations at full. It absolutely serves the purpose of visiting Verona (and Arena's Opera) on the one hand and on the other hand organising excursions to Lago di Garda and other locations around (Padova, Mantova etc). Nice quiet location and yet easily accessible, free parking very convenient. Breakfast could be better and the receptionist should have advised us about the closing of the reception and of the hotel after midnight, so we would not have freaked out when we returned from the opera at abt. 01:00.

We loved our stay at this apartment. We had everything we needed and the hosts were the friendliest we have ever met! They had all sightseeing tips prepared for us, together with the city map and additional information. The funicular is just around the corner from the apartment and we could enjoy a beautiful view of the city. The apartment is in a quiet area just across the river but very close to the center. Breakfast was great in a tosteria close by. All in all a wonderful experience! We thank our lovely hosts for their amazing hospitality!

Stayed 4 nights. 10 minutes to walk to the station where we easily got trains to Padua and Venice, and the airport bus. We booked a superior room, but I couldn't see anything superior about it. Very clean with a good bathroom, but plain and basic. Quiet room, but you can hear the traffic with the window open. Its not on a scenic road or in a particularly nice area, its on a busy main road, but it seems safe and area isn't run down. There's no restaurants in the area. Its a 20 minute walk to the centre, but there are cafes on the way. I probably wouldn't stay again just because its out of the way. Breakfast wasn't too bad and the lady serving was happy and friendly. Reception staff nice too.

The hotel's rooms are clean and tidy, the layout is very characteristic, the bathroom is large, and disposable toothbrushes and slippers are provided. The service of the hotel is very good, especially the duty manager of the front desk gentleman, patient and kind. The location is particularly good, in the heart of Verona, walking to the Juliet House for 3 minutes. The breakfast is very rich, cappuccino, homemade raspberry yoghurt is especially delicious, all kinds of bread dessert, salad and fruit, salmon, roast beef tastes very good. I will stay at this hotel next time.

Down a small, quiet side street on the outskirts of the old city, this hotel was perfectly placed for sightseeing as we only had one night in Verona (avoid all the Romeo and Juliet stuff - guys, they were FICTIONAL! - and concentrate on the great Roman, medieval and Renaissance sights). The room cost 109 euros for the night, including breakfast. Parking cost 18 euros (more than the cost of our hire car per day!) We were escorted by a hotel employee to the underground car park about 100m away in the same street. We had to go down two levels and then reverse into quite a small individual garage (we were glad we didn’t have a big car!) The garage door was then locked and we were given a key. A nice touch were the jugs of iced water and juice (or prosecco if you wanted it!) and pastries on the table in the foyer on our arrival in the heat of the day. Our room was in another building about 50 yards away on the same street. The room was a mix of olde-world charm and very tasteful modern furnishings and bathroom fittings. Unusual fancy silver-coloured wrought iron bed head. Immaculately clean. Good toiletries, good WiFi, fridge and safe, but no kettle. Very unusually, a set of scales - best avoided after all the pasta and pastries! Odd, quirky narrow horizontal windows had only sheer curtains, which let the street light in at night and the daylight woke us at 5.30am. The air conditioning was pretty ineffective, which made it too hot in bed at night. Breakfast was in the basement of the main building and OK. Good scrambled eggs, not so good juice. Small packets of cereals. Yogurt, apples and oranges, ham, cheese and rolls, cakes and pastries. As often the case, excellent coffee and hot chocolate, made to order.

We stayed for two days and we felt like home! The receptionist was very polite and very helpful. She provided us with a map and marked all the sightseeings we had to see during our staying!!! She also recommended to buy breakfast from Aldi store, which was about 100-200 meters away from the residence. And so we did! You can find every kind of snacks in great prices! We couldn't believe that with 1.5€ you could buy sweet and saulty snack (donuts*2 and cheese snack)!!! In terms of room comfort, we were really pleased!!! Nice kitchenette with all amenities. Boiling device, oven, fridge, freezer. Also, a comfy dinning table and of course a large bed with extra pillows as I had asked!!! The toilet was ok but big. It was equipped with washing machine and guess what else...! A washing dose and softener!!! Wow!!! Didn't expected it!!! Overall, i can say that it was a value of money!!! And let me tell you one last hint. It is near the train station and very close to the entrance of the city!In my opinion, it is preferred to reach the center of the city on foot as to check by yourself the local stores! If you are not a walking type, you can buy bus tickets from the tobacco store, about 100-150 meters from the residence, 30-50 meters before the city entrance!

We booked back last October, searching for a five star hotel in Verona not wanting to go back to the previous Hotel (considered n1 which was no where near 5star). I searched and went through and compared various reviews from different sources and tried booking well in advance. The Hotel Gabbia D’Oro was our perfect solution for a weekend over in Verona for a long time summer friend’s 50th birthday party. The hotel well exceeded our expectations! Extremely courteous, it felt being guests in an exquisite home. Very pleasantly decorated with a distinguished personal touch and good taste. Antiques, silverware, a sanctuary of tradition. We booked a Junior Suite and were upgraded to a Superior Suite, 204 very cosy and just perfect, an entrance, living room, double bedroom and complete marble bathroom. We just had to ask for a proper hairdryer instead of the slow wall dryer, everything else was there for us. Breakfast room at a glance was triumphant and glittery, personnel very kind, discreet and service full. In the conservatory I regularly passed by to say hello and “chat” to two beautiful parrots Romeo e Giulietta. Romeo would recognize my voice as I descended the second time and chirruping like calling out for attention, an absolute delight. The blonde lady at reception was particularly kind with us throughout. Thank you for the nice time, we shall definitely recommend Hotel Gabbia d’Oro for anyone wishing to have a super plunge into historic Verona, couple of steps away from Piazza delle Erbe, all within walking distance. Thank you!

An outstanding value. Great location, just minutes from the Arena. Roberto is a very gracious and helpful host. Spacious room (Aida), well-appointed decor. Comfy bed. Nice balcony. Good elevator. Strong WiFi. Super clean. Having an external bathroom for our room worked fine for us (may not for everyone). Early luggage drop off/ late luggage pick up was a great benefit to us given our train schedules. A great PAM grocery store close by. Our only critique would be a lack of an open window for the bathroom and the narrowness of the bathtub. These are design matters and not operational issues. Definitely a satisfying 4 night stay. No breakfast due to Covid-19. We found the excellent Caffè Pasticceria Barini just around the corner.

I would put more stars, if I could. Found this place after had terrible service at Rigoletto, no one was there to open door for me, so i had to find another place on the spot. For few do llars more, I got service that worth much more that they charge. Milano hotel and spa right away made me feel like at home. From the moment i walked in to the moment i was relaxing in rooftop jacuzzi, with amazing view to Arena , took exactly 25 min. I got room with view to Arena, even without asking. Breakfast was served like at high class restaurant, with huge variety of choices from the menu. Everything carefully chosen, for the clients comfort . Stuff very very polite and friendly, especially Cristina and Gavriel. There is much more to say, but it's better one time to try yourself. This place is simply cares! Thank you guys for making my stay at your place so special, cannot wait to come back!

The hotel is quite a walk away from Verona’s old town but on the plus side this gives it easy highway access. The staff were great and super polite upon arrival and their own parking garage is certainly a benefit. The biggest issue was the somewhat complicated wifi access, a simple password solution would certainly benefit the overall experience. The breakfast was quite busy but with a good selection although a second coffee machine certainly would come in handy. As would a bar on site which would surely bring serious extra income as there aren’t many options in the immediate neighborhood.

We wanted to go to Venice for my wife’s birthday but, in our 70s now, we (VERY sensibly, as it turned out) lacked the courage to take on Venice for a week. So we plumped for Verona, a simple (and cheap!) train ride away from Venice. And was that EVER a good decision!! An even better decision was the Hotel Touring, as good and as nice as it’s possible for a hotel to be. The Touring is perfectly situated just off Piazza delle Erbe, Verona’s oldest and busiest square, a few minutes’ walk from the Arena – and from (very nearly) everything else. It’s in a lovely old building, recently and immaculately renovated (Venice’s Scarpa would be proud of you!) with every detail perfect, our twin beds the widest & comfiest we’ve ever had: and EVERYTHING cleaner than any whistle. And, most importantly, there are the faultlessly-charming and super-helpful Hotel Touring staff – especially Maria, Marco & Fara – but absolutely everyone - Yes PERFETTO is the word. So hang on ... 3 Star? We’d say 5 Stars ... or more if possible! And, scuttling back on the train from Venice, we completely fell in love with Verona too and hope to be back for next year’s Opera season. So THANK YOU, The Boutique Hotel Touring. PS. Marco, I forgot to tell you about all those Glasgow Italians. As my great Glasgow friend Oscar Marzaroli used to say, Glasgow is full of MacDonalds, MacLeods, MacNabs and all the rest ... but nowadays don’t forget all those MacAronis. We won’t!

Stayed here twice in the last 4 weeks. Great hotel in a great location. Very friendly reception, very nice rooms, with balcony, nice bathroom, fast wifi. I recommend choosing a room in the "Apart" part of the hotel, because then you get a nice kitchen on top. It is only about 400 metres to the historical part of the city, within 5 minutes on foot you are there. Right next to the hotel you will find 3 great places to eat. The private garage (book in advance) offers a good number of parking spaces, but only for small cars. You can sleep with the windows open without problems because it is quiet. BMW X2: tight, but it fits. BMW X5: no chance! Good beds, good pillows. My new favourite hotel in Verona.

I booked a standard room with no balcony which was on the first floor overlooking the courtyard and was quiet. Huge bed, very clean and housekeeping was excellent. Clean towels everyday if needed with toiletries provided and coffee, tea making facilities. Great air conditioning and quiet as in some hotels it can be noisy. Check in was easy and reception staff were helpful during our stay as we asked a few questions about going to Lake Garda. Very good choice for breakfast, fruit, hot and cold food and the staff were really friendly. My husband visited the bar in the evening and snacks or more like a mini buffet was provided. They offer cocktails as well as the usual drinks and the courtyard has plenty of tables for guests. Not overcrowded. The hotel is in an excellent location, within 10 minutes walk to the arena or approximately 15 mins to the train station. If you are visiting the arena, check the opening times as this differed to the website. Also, if your taking a trip to Lake Garda you can take the bus for €3 each which is about an hour or the train which to Pescheria is about 15 minutes but more expensive. Book in advance if you want to go by train as it was booked up on the day we wanted to go so ended up taking the bus. There’s lots to do and see in Verona, markets, shops, plenty of restaurants and as Garda is so near its a great city destination. I would definitely recommend the hotel for the location, service and helpfulness of the staff. We were delayed on our return journey and left the suitcases with them no problem until we were ready to leave.

Small hotel, very clean and on excellent location. Just 10 min walk from Arena. However there are few points to take into consideration before booking this hotel. There is no elevator, so if you carry heavy luggage, prepare to lift it yourself to the first floor. The rooms are small and tiny so if you are tall or big in any way, this might be a problem. I barely could open my suitcase in the room, and walking around the bed to hang up my clothes was impossible. The bad is also a bit short do if you are taller than 1.86cm it might be an issue. The bathroom is tiny too so for me there was no problem but I can imagine that tall ppl might have issues using it. The breakfast is very nice, but hotel is a bit creepy but in fashioned way. Nothing bad, but some of the areas look like they are made for Halloween purpose. Overall, good deal for the money if you are not too tall.
