Booked for a mini trip. The photos are a good reflection. We stayed in a room for 2 people. Comfy bed, lovely breakfast, great location, pleasant young man checked us in on arrival and he tried to help us with directions one of the days. Would stay here again but in the warmer months, we stayed in February. We didn't spend much time in the property as we had a short stay so were out and about. My ratings are based on what it is - an informal, budget accommodation.

Quite simply, Venice has become Disneyland. A breathtaking, historical Disneyland, but a theme park nonetheless. It teems with tourists eating overpriced food and buying made-in-China tchotchkes in the "must see" areas, all of which can be very overwhelming. Locanda La Corte is a welcome respite from all of that. It is only an eight-minute walk from St. Mark's Square but it feels a world away. While being near the most of the hubs of activity--and near transportation points to get to the others--the property itself lies just outside the tourist realm so the people you encounter around it are fellow guests, which are few in number, or Venetian residents. The courtyard referenced in the name is a lovely place to allow for a moment of quiet. There is a restaurant attached to the guest house, and the man who greeted us at reception warned of us noise from the live music played in the evening there, but we did not hear a sound. The rooms themselves are tastefully appointed and very comfortable. The home has been well restored so you get the charm of the history of the house with all of the modern conveniences. We slept very well here. The breakfast was also a delight. While the spread itself is similar to most European guest houses and B&Bs, the food was very good and the service impeccable and very kind. A suggestion, though: if you have more than one small piece of luggage per person, I highly recommend taking a water taxi to get to the hotel initially and to leave it. It is a walk with a few sets of stairs and bridges to the guesthouse and, in hindsight for our group, the cost of the water taxi to the guest house would have been worth it. (We ended up taking a taxi from Locanda La Corte to the train station.) On previous trips to Venice, I stayed on Lido for the savings; however, Locanda La Corte will now be my preferred accommodation in Venice. I am listing it as mid-range but, honestly, I think the price is very good for Venice and would encourage budget-conscious travelers to consider it. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Locanda La Corte and highly recommend it. I very much look forward to staying here again!

The room was very roomy and clean. The air conditioner was so quiet, I thought it was broken, but it cooled the room beautifully without being drafty. Alloggi Barbaria is very close to the water taxi stop so getting there from the train or airport is easy. Breakfast on the balcony was pleasant, even on very hot days. When my friend's purse was stolen from a restaurant, the owner, Fausto was extremely helpful in letting us cancel the credit cards and contacting insurance. He also helped us file the police report. His generosity helped tremendously in letting us enjoy the rest of our trip. Fausto and his wife were very helpful in advising us on how to get around Venice. Everything is within walking distance.

All round fabulous! Location 10 minutes to San Marco and Rialto. Gorgeous room with good quality linens and furnishings. Quiet at night. Had dinner at one of the restaurant recommendations (Osteria da Alberto) which was delicious and fun. A local restaurant filled with local regulars and off the tourist track. Amazing food and only a few minutes from hotel. Our bathroom was private and we did not have to go out to the hallway to get to it. Great value for money and would definitely return. Thank you for a great stay Nicola! I am completely mystified by some of the negative reviews on here. If you want porter service and an elevator, you can pay five times as much for an overpriced hotel with no atmosphere. This is a gem and very happy to have found it. Will be recommending to friends.

This is not a complaint it’s information you are given when booking. If you have mobility issues there are 60 odd steps to the accommodation level and where breakfast is served. That said the rest of the things about this place are good. Very clean and tidy. Great buffet style breakfast and peaceful. Great location right next to the Grimani palace, which would help you find the hotel for the first time, as some people have complained about ‘it’s hard to find’. We got here without any problem. Friendly welcome and quick tour of the place. I always ask would I stay here again ? Yes.

I am a bit hesitant to write this review because I like to keep this place for myself ;-) La Porta D’Oriente is in an ancient palazzo. I stayed in the Zen room, which has a modern interior. This did not bother me: the room was very nice and clean. The rest of the B&B gives the Venetian atmosphere that makes it so special. The bed is very comfortable. Breakfast is not included. For €5 you get a wonderful and very extensive breakfast. Great coffee. The location is central, at a lovely square. Good local restaurants nearby. The owner/manager Cinzia did everything to make our stay wonderful. She had good tips about where to go and eat. Her wonderful personality made me feel I was staying with a friend instead of in a hotel. Definitely will come back.

We have just returned from a wonderful long weekend in Venice where we were lucky enough to stay at Hotel al Piave. We were in the building opposite the main entrance of the hotel as we were in a family suite. Our suite comprised of two very good sized rooms, one double room and one triple bed room. Any family of five know how difficult it is to get 5 proper beds without one of them being a sofa bed. Hotel al Piave offers this at a price that is more than fair. The rooms were spotlessly clean, as was the bathroom. There isn’t really much of a view, but that is the only ‘negative’ point I could think of. And the view we did have was of the narrow street where the hotel is located. There are a couple of restaurants on this street, and you can hear voices, but the air conditioning works as treat, so when the windows are closed you can’t hear a thing. The family who run the hotel take real pride in it and it is beautifully maintained. Breakfast is a simple Italian affair, coffee is as good as you’d expect it to be! I was slightly concerned that the hotel’s proximity to St Marks square would mean it would be in a very touristy area which was absolutely not the case. Having explored much of the city on foot, we decided that the location was perfect. It feels more residential here but we were quickly able to navigate our way around. Top tip, watch and make notes on the YouTube video found on the hotel about how to find the hotel from the vaporetto stop. We were first time visitors to Venice and thanks to this video, we made it in less than ten minutes without getting lost! We were so lucky to be able to visit Venice at such a quiet time and we have no hesitation in recommending Hotel al Piave.

We are a family of four (kids 13 and 11) and recently stayed at this hotel for two nights. As many reviews have said it is difficult to find. However, if you have access to internet or buy a local map (€3.50) you should be able to find it pretty easy. It’s a seven minute walk from the Rialto stop on the Grand Canal. The neighborhood is wonderful, away from most of the hustle and bustle of Piazza San Marco which is ten minutes away. Plenty of nice local restaurants to choose from. The hotel was as expected. From the pictures online I figured the interior would be a little dated and it was. I’m sure the humidity in Venice doesn’t help. The beds were reasonably comfortable and the linens were clean. The air conditioning could use some help. It was just cool enough in our room. The dining area and hallways were cooler. The bathroom was clean and the water pressure was good enough. The shower showed signs of patchwork. We had ants one day, informed the staff and they took care of it immediately. The WiFi signal was strong. It went out once but was also fixed quickly. The free breakfast was continental. A few pastries, a little fruit, juice, coffee, cereal and hard boiled eggs. My wife asked for soy milk for a cappuccino but they only had regular. The very next day they had soy milk. Great personal service! As many have said there is no staff at the desk. You have to ring the bell in front to call for assistance. Even so, I found them to be attentive to our requests. This is a three star hotel and I wouldn’t expect it to be more than that. I found that rooms that accommodate four people in this price range are rare in Venice. I feel we got what we paid for. The staff (though few) was nice and accommodating.

Hilton's breakfast is good, the environment is good, the hotel is outside the island, the location is relatively close, close to Venezia Mestre train station, and the hotel can provide car service, but the hotel is far from Venezia Santa Lucia train station (the train station On the island), you must arrange transportation according to your own transportation. You can take public transportation on the upper reaches of the island. The hotel gate is the station, but be careful not to bring your luggage. The roads on the island are narrow and the road is uneven. The arch bridges are stairs. Imagine the sourness of the suitcase!

We spent a long weekend at The Sina Centurion Palace and it was delightful. I loved the setting of the hotel, in the quiet district of Dorsoduro, on the Grand Canal. The building from the canal side is beautiful and has two lovely terraces right on the canal. It is conveniently situated close to the Salute water stop for the water taxi, or you can use one of the private taxis that the hotel will arrange for you. On arrival we were greeted by name and the staff were extremely friendly. Our room was not ready, however, it was a hot day and we had been travelling since 3.00am, so I asked if it would be possible to get a room earlier. Ten minutes later our room was ready. The room was a Superior room, so large and very stylish, with a large freestanding bath at one end and an enormous, most comfortable bed at the other end. We had a court yard view, which was nice. I expect that the Canal facing rooms are more expensive. The bathroom, though small, was very well equipped with more than enough towels, and a great variety of amenities, which had been very well thought out. Bathrobes and slippers; enough coat hangers and space to put clothes and shoes. The shower was a bit of a disappointment – more style over substance but a relatively minor issue. We had lunch on the terrace the first day, which was nice, again staff friendly and efficient. Breakfast was served at the table, in the dining room, due to the Covid situation and I should imagine if we were in normal times that there would have been a large buffet. We were not able to help ourselves, but were served at the table, by again extremely friendly staff, although the menu was not extensive. The area was quiet and very close to the Peggy Guggenheim Museum. There are many delightful squares and restaurants with enchanting bridges across the canals. We found it an easy walk from the hotel to San Marco, via the Academia Bridge, however, with the water taxi stop so close by, you could jump on the water taxi at any stage. We bought a three-day pass, which was reasonable and was quite interesting to see everyday Venetians going about their daily lives. On our second day, the concierge arranged a trip to Murano for us. We took a private water taxi from the hotel to the Island, where we were shown the glass blowing process and given an extensive tour of the factory with all the beautiful glass objects. This craft has been in existence since the 15th century. The craft is handed down through the generations.

Well, this place really is awesome. It seems to sit in the middle between hostel and hotel. As you can see from the attached photo, it’s quite modern compared to other buildings around it. It amazed me how similar it was to the photos online! It’s amazing considering what you’re paying for. I honestly would rather stay here again if I was in Venice than a hotel. When I arrived, I notified the staff I wasn’t well and they put me in my own dorm at no extra charge. It’s safe to say I’ve been able to recover way better that way. Generally speaking the staff have been really helpful - giving me food recommendations, changing over my money for the laundry and even just for a general chat! The hostel also seems to attract travellers who are really nice - I’ve had a few nice conversations with people in the lifts. It’s unfortunate I was so ill during my stay otherwise I would have made more of an effort to meet people and take part in their nightly events. I didn’t get a chance to try any of the food on site but I’ve heard it’s good. Don’t worry too much about the location.. it’s super close to the station and about a 10 minute ride into the main island of Venice. If you’re looking for a hostel in Venice, look no further than Anda. Yes, it’s not in the touristy part... but I reckon that’s a really good thing!

From the moment we walked through the door (at 00:50hrs in the morning after a long 16 hour journey) we were greeted by Silvia, an extremely helpful receptionist, offering us a drink of Prosecco whilst we checked in. Silvia gave us a lot of really useful information straight away, and settled us into our beautiful room. The location is right on the Grand Canal, closest water bus stop is just a few minutes walk away, and it's right next to the Rialto bridge, surrounded by shops, restaurants and bars right from the front door. Breakfast is good, although trying to get breakfast room service was a bit of a challenge with one particularly rude and abrupt staff member, but this is the only complaint I had. There is a bar on the 3rd floor with a wonderful balcony view across Venice and the Grand Canal. A good selection of Wines, Beers, Cocktails and snacks is available, as dinner is not available in the hotel. The room is high quality decoration, luxury bedding and a good range of toiletries and lovely towels, bathrobes and slippers. If we return to Venice, this would be our choice of accommodation.

My family had plans to visit Hotel Delfino this summer. Due to the coronavirus outbreak, our airline carrier canceled flights from the USA to Italy for the summer. We have messaged the Hotel several times to request a refund and the hotel would not allow this. When i asked to speak to the manager to explain our circumstances and that we can not travel to Italy and simply want a refund due to extreme circumstances, we got told we are not allowed to talk to the manager. In addition, we called the Hotel and were talked to very rude and inappropriate and yelled at. The customer service here is not professional at all and the hotel not only won't refund us, but they will not allow us to talk to the manager and when we call, we got yelled at. In addition, the man on the phone told us he would "PUNCH US IN THE FACE." I am shocked by this. I have never experience this type of customer service for simply asking for a refund during a national pandemic. I don't understand this hotel and deeply regret ever booking here. Not only wont they wont let us talk to the manager but we got threatened. Please do not visit here anytime soon because they are not understanding about the economic, social and physical issues surrounding the current pandemic.

Pros Elite Recognition: Elite status recognized and due benefits delivered. Love it when hotels deliver on due elite benefits. Location: The location is superb. You are right on the canal and minutes away from San Marco Square. Great eating joints nearby, coffee places etc. Hospitality: Excellent hospitality all around. Everybody was great. Breakfast: The breakfast is very good. Good number of options for vegetarians. Riva Lounge: Loved sitting on the deck of the Riva Lounge for drinks. The view from the deck of the lounge is breathtaking. Areas of Opportunity For the Riva Lounge, would be great if they offer preferred table reservations for house guests. This would resulted us in visiting the lounge much more often.
