The hotel is stylish and has a parking lot in front of the hotel. We stayed in a triple room, with a double bed upstairs and a double bed upstairs, a bathroom downstairs and a shower upstairs. The breakfast is very rich, except for the ones you choose, you can do it alone, and the restaurant decoration is very artistic. The hotel is not far from the cathedral. The night before we went without rain, there was an umbrella in the front lobby of the hotel. The next morning, because of the rain, the front desk also helped to call the taxi to the cathedral. After the rain was wet, I was allowed to delay the check-out for one hour.

I read some glowing reviews...I was shocked when I got there. The description sounds like a grand palazzo converted into a fabulous hotel. There is a small reception area. There is a breakfast room. Other than that its a stairway...or elevator....with a bunch of rooms off it with absolutely no personality. The room itself is barebones with little lighting. I had to open the shutters and curtains (although it was in the 90s and so understand why they want them shut) but it I needed the light. Rooms to me were a bit depressing. Its fine for a budget hotel but don't expect much beyond that. As for location....its a great location. I prefer staying right outside Ortigia for the parking alone. They weren't much help letting you know where to park...I found a lot a few blocks away where I left the car for two days.

My husband and I stayed for two nights in this neat little hotel in Siracusa. We liked the location - just over the bridge in Ortiga and by the water, but on a quiet street off the beaten track. We parked on the mainland in a public lot close to the bridge and walked our suitcases over to the hotel - very easy - and while it turned out there was parking just outside the hotel on the day we arrived, we were pleased that we had opted for a public lot where we did not have to worry about parking in restricted zones, the car being broken into or damaged in on-street parking, etc. There is a lift up to the hotel which is great for transporting luggage, Our room was simply but pleasantly appointed (everything white and blue), clean, with a large window/door overlooking the water, and a nice bathroom. The hotel is within easy walking distance of all the major sights. Staff were pleasant and helpful, and the breakfast served in a pleasant, bright dining area, with the option to eat outside on the terrace, was excellent. Highly recommended.

Nicely appointed rooms in a great location in Siracusa. Enter the rugged wood doors on street level of one of the town’s many streets and walk up a marble staircase to Nostos, a modern boutique hotel with nice rooms and good staff. Location is great for touring both sections of the city. Note that breakfast is provided at a cafe down the block - great pastries, freshly squeezed OJ, wonderful coffee, and great service!

The location of the hotel is really great, right after crossing the canal of the Ortegia Peninsula. The reception staff is young, kind and very helpfull. The first surprise that greeted us was the "smallest" hotel room we ever encountered (the same reaction came from the couple of friends who came with us). The double bed in the center of the room (see attached pictures) filled about 75% - 80% of the room size and there was not much room to turn around. The second surprise was that "there is no wardrobe" and there is no bench / shelf where you can unpack your suitcase (except on the bed) and / or store your clothes. There is no connection between the pictures of the hotel rooms that appear on the hotel's website and / or Tripadvisor. The shower is quite small but it looked like it was recently renovated and apart from the size is quite good. The next morning we found quite a few people in the dining room which we think stayed "In another wing of the hotel" that is located elsewhere in the building. I am guessing that "in the other wing of the hotel" are the hidden rooms that appeared in the pictures on the hotel's website. Breakfast was a meal with all the ingredients of a typical Italian breakfast. In conclusion if you are looking for a room, for one or maximum two nights and are not afraid of a small crowded room this hotel can suit you.

The GHO wasn't our first choice in Siracusa, but when our chosen hotel cancelled us at short notice (no-one ever explained why...) and Expedia were offering reasonable rates, why turn down a 5* hotel? It also comes with the advantage of being very close to the entrance to Ortigia and has its own car park - so if you arrive by car, you don't need to navigate the maze of narrow streets and one-way system. The hotel is on the seafront, and the terrace restaurant on the 3rd floor provides wonderful views. Our room was split-level, with a sofa and TV upstairs. Our bed was comfortable, and we slept well. We didn't explore the public areas, apart from the restaurant. Breakfast was fine - a good selection, and hot food cooked to order. We also had dinner there a couple of nights - good seafood, and that incomparable view. Staff were very friendly and efficient, and the place seemed very covid-aware, with a one-way system, hand sanitiser everywhere, and only suitably protected staff allowed to touch any food until it was put in front of you. It hadn't been our first choice this visit, but it will be next!

Siracuse is an historic, God forsaken port city in deep south Italy, in fact in east Sicily. Maybe, just maybe, these circumstances explain the locals persistent indolence and no purpose rebellious attitude A clear example of this context is this hotel. I left early several more than once and every time I went through reception there was the invariable group of employees, lead by the owner or manager, gathering around a computer and passionately discussing trivialities, Italian style. Of course, no mask and no social distancing. In fact, it was not strange to catch an employee hastingly putting on a mask the moment he/she noticed a guest in the surroundings The hotel is centrally located but then the “centro historico” is rather small.Gran Albergo Alfeo sells itself as a four star establishment but tolerates one star behaviour such as clothes lines set up in the balcony of its most expensive rooms.Maybe that is because we are in Siracuse, Sicily, deep south of Italy, “l’altra Italia” as they say in Milan and with good reason. Breakfast is Spartan and service by a well coordinated waiters. Cleaning is fair and staff is friendly maybe because they are tollerated

Recently back from 5 weeks in Italy-- we spent 3 nights here. It's a great location. the host, Francesco was Extremely helpful. Even before we arrived, he was able to provide helpful information on the area in regards to parking or taking the bus. He even provided links on google maps to assist us! The apartment was clean, and comfortable. There was a small balcony that we could enjoy of coffee on each morning and a small refrigerator that was handy. They heavily promote recycling, which I thought was a great feature. There is a small market within walking distance and also a reasonable laundry service nearby. Lots of local restaurants/cafes to choose from as well. Check in and check out were smooth. FYI -There is a lift, but there are a few steps to maneuver before you get to the lift. All in all I would definitely recommend a stay here

Excellent breakfast and dinner offerings (all food produced on premises), which alas I could not enjoy having just been diagnosed with Celiac Disease. I was very envious of my husband and our two friends. But the ingenious Signora and her very pleasant staff went out of their way to accommodate me, finding versions of many things I could eat. Their own fruits, vegetables, jams and honey - all of which I could eat - were just delicious. Public spaces were pleasant and rooms quiet and comfortable. The signora very reasonably wanted to be paid in cash - not to avoid taxes but rather so as not to pay credit card companies impose.

We recently spent five nights here and had a lovely time. We were greeted warmly by Roberta who took the time to show us around and to offer many suggestions of things to do and places to go. The owner of the apartments also introduced herself to us another day but I'm afraid I forget her name. Excellent hospitality. The apartment was spacious and as we were upstairs at the end of the balcony it was pretty quiet too. Lots of facilities available in the kitchen area (nice to see recycling bins) and the use of the washing machine was really helpful as we had been travelling for a while already. The apartment was very comfortable with my only slight complaint that the air conditioning was extremely loud. Also nice to have a little balcony on the other side of the building as well for somewhere else to sit outdoors. The local area isn't much to see (sorry) but it certainly felt safe enough - we walked to Ortigia most nights to eat and drink and it's really not far at all. We hired a car for our stay in Syracuse and I can only recommend this if you are a very confident driver - there seem to be very few road rules in Sicily and the driving is at times, absolutely terrifying ! Overall, we had a lovely stay and would recommend this accommodation.

This Caportigia Boutique is not bad. It is also the most expensive hotel booked on this route. It has a sense of design, good quality of objects, and good service. The black doorman was very hardworking, and the breakfast was rich, not very cost-effective. High, but also worth the price. Probably because the hotel is a remodeled old building, the storey height is very high, plus the top decoration, it feels like a palace...hehe, overall it feels good. In addition, the location of the hotel is very good. It takes only a few minutes to walk to the old city after stopping the car, and it takes only a few minutes to drive to the Ruins Park.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel, it was a trip deferred from April, so we were a little unsure about travelling in October. The hotel changed from the centre of Ortigia to the Algila and I have to say we were delighted with the trip. The hotel is in a great location and close to the sea to offer a great view and outlook from the balcony. The staff were so friendly and helpful, nothing seemed to present any problem to them and they were always pleased and keen to assist. It is a shame there is no outdoor space but most days we were on trips around Ortigia, the archeological park in Syracuse or the beaches further south along the coast. You can cover almost all of Ortigia in three days. I would recommend a trip to Noto and to the Marina, which is actually a beach and also Fontane Biache(?), which is smaller but still nice sand and clear sea. Hotel was great and we would visit again at some point, its about 1hr drive for the airport and close enough to a beach to travel by Taxi, which can be arrange through the Hotel, who can also provide beach towels. Great place to visit and an endless number of restaurants, all we visited were wonderful but for a truly magical evening dine on the Piazza Duomo looking at the Cathedral. We thought the prices would be inflated for restaurant in this spot but they weren't, so try it.

We booked this resort via secret escapes for a family holiday which included our 10month old grandson. We wanted to explore Sicily and visit beaches but also historic sites . It looked beautiful and well located near Syracuse and beaches near by. Mostly it lived up to this. Although must stress a car is essential if you intend to go off the resort. It is at least a 10 minute drive to the nearest small town and any shops or eateries. Siracusa is 25 minutes drive and nearest beach 15 minutes. The hotel does not provide any shuttle or transport. The hotel itself is very charming..rooms are clean and spacious with good bathrooms shower only in standard/superior rooms. Niggles that lost points for us were lack of storage draws in the room for clothes etc..we stayed a week and struggled with where to put stuff. No kettle in the room was annoying especially as we arrived late and would have loved a cup of tea..complimentary water would have been nice . My daughter brought a travel kettle for the baby bottles just as well... Some of the outside spaces were starting to look a little tired in need of a lick of paint..plaster damaged on walls. The pool was large with plenty of sunbeds which we enjoyed and there was a shallow area for children. Food ..breakfast was good with a wide choice of fruit yoghurt pastries and some cooked items. Extras could be paid for like salmon etc. The resteraunt is not cheap about £35 a head food only and wine £30 plus a bottle..we found the menu very limited especialy as one person was vegetarian and portions very small. We tended to eat when out late lunch early supper.if you want an inexpensive meal there are a few good pizza places in Floridia 10 min drive or good choices in Syracusa. The pool bar serves toasties and a good salad at reasonable prices up to 6pm but is limited. Staff were lovely especially reception and Adriana deserves special mention..she was extremely helpful and gave lots of tips and advice on places to visit and eat plus wine tasting. For a short golfing holiday the resort is ideal. For a week family holiday we would probably not return here unless the above were addressed.

I am sad to say I was deeply disappointed with this hotel. It was meant to be a luxurious child free holiday for my husband and I (the first time away from our toddler, so a big thing to organise and manage) and it was sooo not worth the trouble. I have pasted @secretescapes description below and listed our experience. I just wouldn’t want another person to pay so much and travel all the way to this place, that’s why I am writing this. 1. Unluckily for us we arrived when building work was happening right next door to the hotel and our room. Admittedly they seemed to be builders who tried to stay quiet- but building work is what it is. They started at 7am (6am UK time) and continued all day. This meant getting woken up early, not going on the balcony and not a relaxed vibe! 2. This spa hotel had a broken spa- which only was mended the night before we left. Also, even then we discovered (written in the small print apparently) one could only use the spa for 60mins at a time and it was €25 each time. This is very different from my experience of spas in the UK and Europe where it’s included in the hotel stay and all about relaxation and taking time to unwind. 3. No beach! There’s no beach accessible from anywhere near the hotel. The hotel is on a noisy, dusty back street. Although it overlooks the sea, it’s impossible to get down to the sea as it’s cordoned off and privately owned. Sadly the only way to get to a beach is to drive for 30minutes down the coast. Apart from these essential 3 points, the hotel and the holiday were okay. The city of Syracuse is very picturesque. The staff in the hotel were lovely. I had a massage that was brilliant. The hotel was clean and comfortable. It’s just a such a shame the essential ingredients were missing. We stayed for two weeks at the beginning of September and had a truly wonderful holiday. On arrival we were upgraded to a suite with private terrace. The room was exceptional, lots of storage and a well planned layout. Hotel grounds were beautiful, lots of private areas to hide away and enjoy the peace and quiet, the pool areas were thoughtfully planned and immaculately maintained. As the other reviewers have mentioned, breakfast is magnificent, everything freshly prepared each morning with love and care. Thanks especially to Lucia for the amazing cakes and pastries....... Too numerous to mention all by name, but special thanks to Kristina for the many fabulous restaurant recommendations, and the ever effervescent Manuela who always made us smile. Giusi, the owner must be extremely proud of her achievements and all the positive reviews. The jewels in the Borgo Pantano crown are all the wonderful staff who made our stay in Sicily so memorable.

When we came to the hotel, we just left our things in the room and went out, which was a big mistake. We should had taken a better look and complain immediately. The room smelled funny but we said to ourselves that the building is old and we only paid 76 € for two nights so we would survive. When we returned in the evening, we saw that only one of the just two chargers was near a bed so we could not charge our phones comfortably. But again we said, it was cheap. Then I wanted to take a shower. It was disgusting. Not just outdated, it was rusty, moldy and falling apart. The bathroom felt dirty and one of the towels smelled very badly. It was already too late in the night to go complain and get another room. Somehow we managed to take a shower with the help of flip-flops and a lot of soap. It took about a minute for the water to heat up but then I realised that you could only use either cold or hot water and the jet was very uneven. After that we wanted to go to sleep and realised that the pillows smelled like they had been in a place where people had smoked for a long time. We slept without them even though the mattresses still smelled a bit like from smoking at the places where the pillows were. The beds were uncomfortable because there were strings and some kind of buttons on the mattresses. A few minutes in bed, we both started scratching ourselves. Our skin was getting itchier and itchier and we could barely fall asleep after about an hour. In the morning we packed our things up and went to check out. I would not stay in this place any longer, let alone a whole night more of itching. Outside in the terrace we saw that the equipment was in a very poor, outdated and dirty state. The chairs were pooped on by birds and it was obvious it was there more than a few days. I went to the receptionist and she returned our IDs and when I complained she was a little confused because she spoke English quite poorly but she was friendly and of course the problems were not her fault so I asked her to get the manager. The manager or owner or whoever he was, was a horribly arrogant and impolite man. We tried to tell him about the problems we had, but he would not listen and instead he told us that our money was not to be refounded but we could see another room and stay there if we liked it but we just did not want to stay in that hotel any longer at all. On Booking the hotel was not rated but a photo of the hotel implied that it had three stars because there was a board where Hotel*** was written at the front of the hotel so I asked him: "How many stars does this hotel have?" and he said he did not understand my question. I repeated and he muttered something about historical centre of the town and said he did not understand my question again. In disbelief I googled pictures of hotel stars and asked him the same question again showing him the pictures so he could understand. He started, very rudely so, telling us that if we wanted a better hotel we sh

We went here because we wanted to have a nice Syracusa experience. The B&B is about 10 minutes drive from the city. We had the studio downstairs. Sparkly clean, airconditioned, and very quiet, also a huge double bed! Lucina is an excellent host who prepares a delicious breakfast consisting of bread, homegrown vegetables, egg and several sweet dishes. Altough our Italian is really bad, communication was not a problem! Beautiful garden as well, where you can relax after a day of sightseeing! The only tip I can give is, the WiFi had poor reception from our studio, maybe you can strengthen the signal somewhat with some "repeater" devices. For the rest, we would gladly stay with you again!

This 4 room hotel is very well located at one end of via Roma, close to Piazza Archimedes. They offer parking that is 200 meters away, very convenient. The hotel, every part of it, is beautifully designed. The room is spacious and bright with more than enough storage. The bed was very comfortable, and best of all even though via Roma is a busy pedestrian street, the windows are so insulated that when they are shut you don’t hear anything. There is a small balcony off room 2 ( large enough to stand on) and a really beautiful common terrace that’s a delightful place to eat breakfast, relax in the early evening (when it’s shaded) or to have a nightcap. Some snacks and tea are available 24/7. My only criticisms are that more information could have been given out at checkin (like we didn’t know at first how to access the street door because I wasn’t told there was a keypad off to the side) and we were really trying to get laundry done and it was never communicated to me that they could not do it (I had to keep asking). I expected a bit better at a luxe property. The breakfast was the most anemic of the hotels that I stayed at, but that didn’t really bother me much since I wasn’t usually hungry in the morning from the previous day! A beautiful property I would definitely stay at again.

The B&B has a great location right on Via Roma in the heart of Ortygia. We experienced no noise from the street from our room, but couldn't vouch for other rooms. A few days before we were due to arrive we had a message asking if we would cancel since there were no other bookings. This was not possible (and at the time we were staying in another town in a B&B which also had no other bookings, but were happy to provide a full service). In the end they were able to accommodate us, but the included breakfast that we were expecting was replaced with a voucher for a single drink and pastry in a cafe across the road. Quite disappointing, and nowhere near what we were expecting. I feel we didn't quite get what we paid for.

My wife and I stayed at this wonderful place from 28th August to 6th September 2018 inclusive. It is ideally located to access the city of Syracusa , and surroundings. This area is rich in history, and therefore ancient site abound. It is also convenient to the beautiful baroque cities of Noto, and Ragusa, and the coast features some of the best beaches. what's not to like? We stayed in room 9, which was converted with three other rooms from an old water storage tower. It was quiet, light and spacious. The en suite shower was spacious and well equipped. On several nights the temperature was in excess of 26 C degrees, and were thankful for the air conditioning! Now the best thing about this place - Antonio and his parents who run the place, as well as grow the delicious oranges and lemons that surround the property. Antonio spoke excellent English, was helpful in all matters, couldn't do enough for his guests, and would cook you any evening meal you fancied with enough notice. We enjoyed the experience so much we elected to say in for half of our nights there. We miss him dearly already. The rest of the staff were all polite, friendly and genuinely keen to help. The second best thing is the beautiful swimming pool, which is in well kept, never too crowded and when Antonio says use it anytime - he means it! We loved our stay, and will be back. The only suggestion I have to make is to improve the internet signal to facilitate use from the bedrooms. Thanks for making our stay special!

We had a very nice experience with Salvo’s bed and breakfast! Salvo is a friendly host and he was very helpful with providing us tips for sightseeing, beaches and restaurants. He even let us borrow his beach umbrella and towels. Good location if you have a car, free parking in front of the guesthouse. About 15-20 drive to Siracusa/Ortigia. We stayed in the “Mars” room which was clean and spacious with terrace that had a small rack to hang dry clothes (great for after the beach!). Good spread for breakfast, there were fruits, cereal, bread, cheeses, ham, pastries and Salvo made us coffee. We tried fresh figs from the garden and Salvo’s mother makes delicious cannolis! Thank you for your welcoming hospitality!

This is a marvellous B&B in the centre of the town, but with the most fantastic views out over the marina. Parking is about 10 mins walk away (15E per 24 hrs) and the B&B is just tucked around the corner from the main square. We were greeted very warmly, provided with glass after glass of cold water and lots of useful advice of where to go. The bed was comfy, bathroom well appointed and the air con worked well. It was everything we wanted. Breakfast was served just around the corner in a bar on the main square which provided a great people watching location in the morning. A great B&B, good value, helpful and with sea views. What more can you possibly ask for?

Just returned from a week's stay at the Principe di Fitalia. The hotel was, as described by many others in Tripadvisor reviews, peaceful and remote - exactly what I was after! I'll do as another reviewer has done and list the pros and cons. However I should say, the Principe Fitalia is perfect for a quiet, relaxing break and the staff are excellent. Pros: 1. There are only 40 rooms and the whole time we were there (late Sept, early Oct) the hotel was extremely quiet with sometimes only 8-10 guests around the pool! I've never been somewhere so quiet and I enjoyed it! 2. The fact the hotel is small means you don't have to clamour for a sunbed. In fact I've never been anywhere before where I could comfortably have my pick of the sunbeds still at 11am. No-one really reserved beds with towels - there simply wasn't a need to. 3. Beautiful outdoor pool (albeit rather chilly!) and gardens area which are kept impeccably clean and tidy. The grounds are very attractive. 4. The staff were, without exception, friendly and helpful. Special shout out to Chiara who made a special effort to chat to all guests, switching effortlessly between English, German, Italian and French. 5. Because the hotel is in the middle of nowhere, there is a shuttle service which goes to Ortigia (20 mins away) 3 times per day. We made use of this 4 times and it was very handy - and free. 6. Our room was modern and well equipped with both a bath and shower. We also discovered Netflix on the tv. Robes and flip-flops are provided in a beach bag to take to the pool. Cons/ Suggested improvements 1. We were on a bed & breakfast package which meant either dining at the hotel or in Ortigia. Whilst the food at the hotel was fine, we both agreed we didn't think it warranted the price tag. A two course meal with an alcoholic drink each cost between €80 - €100 - and to be honest we had a much better meal in Ortigia for less than that. I think the quality of the food should match the price and this was a little disappointing. 2. Whilst generally the pool area was quiet, there were two days where music/ radio was playing quiet loudly from a loudspeaker at the pool bar. It's not really appropriate or wanted to have that level of music at a spa hotel where you specifically want to relax. If they really want to play music, café del mar chillout would be more appropriate. 3. The poolside bar menu is very limited and not cheap. The only thing on offer was a selection of paninis (variation on ham, cheese and tomato) and would set you back about €9. You couldn't even order a bowl of chips. So in the end we tended to have a big breakfast and skip lunch. 4. Please NO CHILDREN in the indoor pool / spa area. The one time we used it, it was blissful for the first hour when we had it to ourselves. Then two families came in with children who made noise and one parent saw it fit to throw a ball around. It's really REALLY not appropriate to have kids in there when people are trying to relax. Espec

Having had loads of experience with different level and style of hotels, I can very highly recommend Lakkios Residence. Location is great, perfect distance to explore everything. Ortygia is about 10-15 minute walk away which makes a lovely stroll, yet you are a bit away from all the tourists - which makes the place perfect for access but also much calmer. There is a road next to it, but I had no problems with the noise. Especially coming from much bigger cities. Upon arrival I was offered a room choice, for the same level of room but looking to the marina. Which was very kind and lovely touch! The area is also safe, even if you are a solo traveller. The place is very clean and very stylish. With little fridge, and coffee machine in the room, with airconditioning which is perfect if you travel in "colder" months - as I did - it serves as a heater as well. With the room looking towards the marina, I had absolutely no trouble with noise. I would say, it was almost too quiet :) I usually travel with ear plugs and haven't had to use them at all. The staff is extremely nice and kind and very, very welcoming. They are happy to help with suggestions or anything you would need help with - Thank you again for the warm welcome! :) 5+ stars :)

The hotel is about a 10-15min walk to the Old Town (Ortiga) and about 20min walk to the Archaeological Park. Service was impeccably friendly and very responsive; my wifi had issues and they promptly reset the router which fixed the issue immediately. The room had ample space and had the relevant amenities, incl air condition. Shower was a bit old, small but clean. There are breakfast boxes available if you need to check out earlier. Great value for money!!

We booked a double bed, and where given a twin room. Room and hotel is old-fashioned, a bit stuffy with thin walls but clean. The room had a window, but it faced a corridor and we kept curtains closed throughout as otherwise other guests can look inside the room whilst walking past. After I showered I found that bath towels were missing and I had to request them twice from reception. All in all nothing really bad, but also nothing that made our stay either outstanding or pleasant. Good central location. Breakfast had to be pre-ordered the previous day via WhatsApp due to Corona, so we went to the amazing Irma la Dolce next door instead.

One of the best 3-stars we’ve ever enjoyed—probably the very best. Martina runs a terrific hotel. The rooms are gorgeous, the bed huge and comfortable, the bathroom spacious. Martina herself was terrific about orienting us when we first arrived, and very helpful with all our questions about Siracusa. She’s incredibly generous and informative—among other things, she sent us to an authentic Sicilian seafood restaurant outside Ortigia that was fantastic. Breakfasts were excellent, and we appreciated the fact that Martina encourages her guests to converse with one another. We met two lovely couples here and shared a lot of information with each other about our experiences in Sicily—some of which turned out to be incredibly valuable later in our trip. The location can’t be beat: we normally like to stay away from the heart of things because we value quiet over restaurant and bar noise, but this hotel is amazingly well sound-proofed (with the one exception of the glass recycling guys who came around before 7 AM one morning). It would have been demoralizing to stay outside of Ortigia and walk in, since the neighborhood just beyond the bridges isn’t all that attractive. Parking is not a problem; we stayed in the Talete parking lot, which was easy to find. We really loved our three days in Siracusa, and Maceò is one big reason why. This hotel has our highest possible recommendation.

I just spent 4 glorious days at this b and b, hosted by sisters sabrina and claudia who went above all expectations to perfect my holiday and feel like i am in a family home .. but with lots of fun. Claudia prepares a gourmet breakfast with homemade cakes and savoury pastries plus fruit, yoghurt, local cheeses and salamis. Sabrina advised and helped me with any issue and arranged a wonderful on site massage in their massage room on the ocean. You can snorkle from the steps of this level, straight into the sea with coral and rocky groves. Mamalu serves, cleans, helps and smiles, a lovely guy from west africa and part of the relaxed scene. The rooms have what one hopes and expects, modern bathroom, coffee machine, minibar, gowns, slippers and luxury toiletries, flat screen tv, and views literally jutting out into the sea. The common living/dining area consists of a large room with terrace on the sea where breakfast is served, Nice place just to hang out with books and music. It suits solo travellers ( myself) couples, families with kids, is on the bus route to the island of ortigia (10 minutes) but still apart from the hustle and bustle, there is a lovely local seafood snd pizza restaurant 100 meters away, on a terrace overlooking the sea, i ate daily there, what more could one want.

We spent 4 nights here in early February. The city is quiet at this time of year but it's a really nice time to visit and this was a perfect place to stay. Our room on the second floor overlooked the ocean (from across the street). There was a wind storm while we were there and the waves were wonderful and intense at times. The staff members are excellent, helpful, and offered good suggestions for restaurants and places to visit. There isn't an elevator but staff member Davide carried our luggage to our room. This was our third visit to Ortigia and Domus Mariae our favorite of the places we've stayed. It's a bit out of the city center but that's part of it's charm. Breakfast is served across the street at Domus Mariae Bennessere. It was good with fresh-made cakes, pastries, homemade yogurt, delicious jams and more. Be sure to ask to see the Church of St. Filippo Neri in the same location. The bathroom is spotlessly clean though the shower ensemble was a bit odd but functional. There is a TV in the room with International channels and the WiFi was good. We were very happy with our stay here and will return on our next visit to Ortigia! Thank you!
