My husband and I stayed here from 7 to 11 September. The hotel is centrally located. Very clean with fresh towels each day. Easy walking distance to bars and restaurants. Great bus route for the beaches. 500 metres from the station. As we were staying during COVID, I am pleased that the hotel took excellent measures in this. Masks are worn all the time in common areas, if you forget they remind you politely. Breakfast is served to you, whilst I don’t speak Italian the service was good, enough choices. The little bar attached to the hotel is great. Claudio is an excellent bar manager, extremely helpful and very very friendly. We even waited to say good bye to him on our last day because he made us feel that welcome. There are a couple of downsides to this hotel. As it’s an old building that has been converted to a hotel, if you are in the deluxe rooms there isn’t a lot of natural light. The water for the shower is tepid which is unfortunate and despite me asking a few times to see if anything could be done, I think they tried their best. If you are here for 2 nights it’s fine but for 4 it’s too much. For these reasons I would not stay here again. FromUS$65.00

This hotel is very nice and clean. The staff is extremely helpful. The location is excellent, very close to the city centre and all the main attractions and also with lots if buses just across the road (including to the lovely beach of Poetto) and 5 minutes walk from the train station. I liked the breakfast too. There was coffee, tea, milk, soy milk, juice, different types of sliced bread for toast, cake, biscuits. During the day you can also help yourself to tea, coffee, fruit, cakes... Lovely.SOLD OUT

The Miramare is not a hotel but a B&B pension that is located in the 3rd floor of an apartment / office building. There are partly other B&Bs on other floors of the same building. Acceeding the 3rd floor with luggage in the moment of arrival is a sportive challenge because the small elevator only works if you have a key which you receive at the reception which is on the 3rd floor. So, if you don't want to leave your luggage unattended in the entrance of the building (which you shouldn't as this is the very busy harborfront street), you have to carry all the luggage up the stairs to the 3rd floor yourself. Our room was so small that there was practically no space except for the bed. No space to store and unpack the luggage properly. It must have been a former servant's room of the flat. The window showed to a narrow courtyard which was full of air condition machines that made so much noise night and day that you couldn't open the window at any time. The courtyard, or slot, was so narrow that you could almost touch the opposite windows. The breakfast buffet was already eaten up by a hungry family before we arrived and was not refilled, although we arrived more than an hour before the closing time. The worst thing however was the cheaty and uncommunicative behaviour of the management: When we left, we received a closed envelope, the receptionist saying "all is settled already, you're all fine, no further payment necessary". As we are not suspicious persons and were eager to continue our round trip, we had no doubts, took the envelope and left. When I checked my next credit card invoice after returning home, I saw that Miramare had booked off 100 € too much for the night, obviously a mistake as I thought. They had no signature for the too high amount, it was a clearly unauthorized charging. I wrote to the hotel by email right away but received no answer. I wrote again several times but received no answers again. Then I called the hotel by phone. The receptionist, an older gentleman, said he would look into the case and would call back, but he never did. Some days later I called again, the same receptionist just said "I cannot help you". I asked him who could help me and what I could do further to get our money back, he only repeated "I cannot help you.", again and again, like a machine. Each time I called again, the same repetition "I cannot help you." Once when I called, I had another receptionist on the phone, a young lady. She said she knew my case and she would help me, she would call back in 10 minutes, but she never did. When I called again, the older gentleman was on the phone again. I told him that the young lady promised to call back and that I would like to speak to her, he repeated only "I cannot help you". Every time I called, I asked for the manager of the Miramare of course. Again the same answer "Nobody can speak to the manager, I cannot help you." This was the spookiest experience I ever had travelling. Days later I had a FromUS$155.00

We stayed at this little gem right in the centre of Cagliari for 4 nights. We had three rooms for the 5 of us and all of them were clean, full of character and despite opening onto a busy row of bars below, were very well sound proofed we heard no noise. Breakfast was a real pleasant surprise with a great range of breads, pasties, cheese, fruit and other tasty bits. The staff were delightful even arranging breakfast for us early on our final day as we had to leave for the airport before breakfast started. Geanina and Marco were great hosts and looked after us like family. They went over and above any normal hosts. Even bought us a birthday cake last minute (with candles) and dropped it straight to the restaurant for us! It was a short stay but because of their great recon hospitality we were able to experience a lot without it feeling squeezed or rushed. Geanina has great contacts in Cagliari. They recommended a lot of places to eat and even arranged all of our bookings including restaurants, beach package, boat tour and transfers, which made life 10x better. Conveniently located - close to the marina and restaurants as well as train station. Rooms were clean and beds were very comfortable. Very affordable considering location. Having just read some of the complaints on this accommodation I think the management have listened and changed a few things. This is not a hotel as such, but pleasant rooms in an old apartment block within 5 minutes walk of the main restaurant area and also the train and bus station, so we found it very well located. Trains to the airport run regularly & take 10 minutes maximum so very easy to get there. The rooms were spotless, spacious and quirkily decorated.The bathrooms are clean & fitted with modern walk in showers. They provided a casual breakfast although we hadn't paid for it, and was a help yourself to coffee, tea and pastries which ran till about 9.30am which we found adequate.There was a kettle and cups available to help yourself to your own coffee or tea at anytime. If you wanted more there is a fabulous coffee shop just outside the apartment block. The air con worked well and so noise outside was not an issue although we were on a room overlooking the road. Our only small quibbles were that the pillows were a bit lumpy and we were unable to have a late check out or leave our bags there beyond 12 noon ( However we could have organised this had we checked earlier than that morning and there is a cheap left luggage at the Bus Station) Also it is situated on the 3rd floor - about 80 steps - so don't go there if that is an issue. We were out most of the day so it didn't bother us and Alessandro came down to help us with our bags when we arrived and, helpfully, gave us lots of information on Cagliari. I have noticed that the majority of reviews of Cagliari Novecento are positive but my experience was not a good one. I stayed there for one night (Thursday 27th of June 2019). Although the one staff member I spoke to was friendly, the room I was allocated was awful. There was a bad smell in the room, it was extremely warm, the skylight wouldn’t close which meant that the room was full of flies and mosquitoes (I got six bites in one night) and the light in the bathroom didn’t work. The following morning I wanted to have a shower before leaving but as soon as I turned the shower on (in the dark) I noticed it was leaking and the floor was full of water. I left as soon as I could. If anyone books Cagliari Novecento remember...AVOID ROOM 26!!!FromUS$42.00

This was a fantastic find, as is the city of Cagliari itself. Great hotel and great location near to all the restaurants and travel hubs. Faultless! The hotel is quite quirky with some lovely antique furniture and an antique toy collection carefully placed and presented in and around the rooms in the hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. We booked in to the hotel for our honeymoon and chose one of the 3 junior suites. Definitely worth paying the extra. The room was split level with a reception room and bathroom downstairs. You then ascend a spiral staircase to a vast bedroom and large ensuite in the eves. Very romantic! The restaurant strip is located a 2 min uphill walk from the hotel. The transport hubs are located a 2 min walk downhill from the hotel. Would highly recommend taking a bus to Poetto beach. There are 3 buses from the piazza at the bottom of the hill (PF, PQ and the Poetto express). All take approx 20 mins. Just download the CTM App, buy your 90 minute ticket for Euro 1.30 and off you go! The beach is inundated with beach clubs and bars. If you want a relaxing time then wander up to the far end of the beach and visit the Frontemare beach club or the Belvedere club. Both charge between Euro 20 to Euro 30 a day for 2 people, including towel, parasol and loungers. It's table service to your loungers and the food and drink selection is fabulous. When you're ready to go home just google map the nearest bus stop, buy another bus ticket through the CTM App and off you go. Simples! The sites of Cagliari are easily reached on foot and are amazing photo opportunities. You won't be disappointed by the hotel or the city and nearby beach, unless you're a fan of minimalistic, characterless hotels. If it's a buzzing nightlife you want then visit the Poetto beach clubs after dark. They're numerous and open until 4am at weekends and 1am in the week.FromUS$77.00

This hotel is good to stay for one night but not more. Location is 29 minutes by bus to the city centre. I had the intention to dine in the hotel restaurant “La Finestra sul Cielo” as advertised on the web. This restaurant has good reviews. I was very disappointed when I was informed that it had been closed for about five years. There are no restaurants close to the Hotel. As it was late in the evening, the only alternative was to dine in the Up restaurant located on the fourth floor of the building. It is a shame that Ristorante La Finestra Sul Cielo is still being advertised on the web uliviepalme.it and also on Trip Advisor. On the contrary the Up restaurant has zero reviews and 2 ratings. The staff hurried around as they are understaffed which make one feel uncomfortable. The restaurant opens at 8.00 pm so one has to wait for the opening time even if you are early back in the hotel and wish to eat. It has a set menu with little choice, take it or leave it. It was antipasto consisting of veg and then either pasta or rice for first course and meat or fish for second course plus desert. Besides, there is a wait of about half-an-hour to forty-five minutes between each course and one will end up eating pasta very late. At least the taste was very good. Worst of all was the terrible heat. There is no air conditioning in the restaurant and one can imagine how awful it is to stay there for at least three hours to finish your meal! The bar closes after breakfast. Once I asked from where I can get a cup of coffee, it was around 5.00 and was instructed to go to the 2nd floor and help myself from a vending machine! Disgusting! Breakfast was not refilled after 9.00 am. It looks as if they have a shortage of cutlery, as most guests had to wait or ask to be given a fork or a spoon from the kitchen as the cutlery trays end up empty very quickly. Another disappointment – the swimming pool is closed and not functioning. It will not be functioning any time soon as major repairs are required. This was also not notified on the web. So whoever had the impression of going for a dip before it was time for dinner, had to find another way to while away the time till 8.00 pm. There is nowhere to go nearby if not to hear mass in front of the hotel. Something on a positive note - In another review it was said that the elevator starts from the 1st floor, but this is not the so, there is an elevator on the ground floor. The rooms are spacious, very clean, towels and toiletries are replenished daily. The breakfast is plentiful and one is spoilt for choice at the cakes section. The freshness and taste is outstanding. Still, this is definitely not a three star hotel.

Good things about the hotel: the sea view. The hotel looks very old,the entrance looks like a high school, and indications aren't clear. We got a sea view room. The rooms is basic, no fridge inside, not much furniture and need to be renovated. The bathroom was ok. Wifi doesn't work and you need to get a code from the reception to use it, and it doesn't work anyway. I used my data all the time. The reception staff is very bad, at the check in they didn't give us any infos, and sometimes they are not there so if you need something it's your problem. The phone in the room didn't work so we couldn't even call them. The worst part was the breakfast. They say it's included but what you will get it's only one croissant one coffee and a juice. When I asked for more croissants for me and my boyfriend, they said I would have to pay for it. But there is no other food so we were starving and obviously wanted more croissants. I arrived at 8 and was told breakfast didn't start yet. Big lie, cause it starts at 7. They don't even give a price of bread and salami.. it's very basic, they should explain that at the check in or before the booking. I met other guests that were heaving the same troubles and they tried to charge me 10 euros for a plate with salami and cheese. The private beach of the hotel is basically just rocks and it's horrendous, dirty, and the other part of the public beach is busy and loud. If you want a sunbed they will charge you a lot (13 euros per day). There is a restaurant beside which is not related to the hotel and that's a big plus, they are amazing, polite and they atmosphere and food is great. The hotel has a bar which is expensive, and it closes at 7 so if you wanna go for drinks forget it. A big plus is the guy of the massages mr gavino. He is cheap,professional very polite and honest. And would listen to all your requests. If you walk up to la pailotte restaurant you will find another rocky beach but it's clean and so cool to go diving in it, from there we seen the dolphins too, it was very nice. I can't reccomend this hotel, we came here for our anniversary and it was very bad, the second day the 2 restaurants around were fully booked so we had to order a pizza, otherwise the hotel doesn't offer any alternative to eat they don't have a bar or something open at night.

There are many places that I like around the world, but quite a few where I've felt like home. Regio Maison du Charme was one of those places where I felt like I belonged and from where I will get tons of interior design inspiration for our new apartment. Ever since I've entered the building, I couldn't help but noticing the beautiful marble stairs and floor and how they were contrasting with the glass modern elevator. Then entering the living room you get a really calming and cozy vibe from the amazing scent covering the whole apartment and the really good lounge music. I find that the apartment is the perfect combination between old and new, classic and modern. The furniture and accessories are really carefully selected and actually really my taste. I loved also our room, that looked very classy with that unexpected orange metal stair case, leading to a living room and dressing room area. My favourite part of the apartment was the kitchen/breakfast area. The light was just perfect, the room super big, but still cozy and that long table really won me over. Would love to have breakfast there forever. The apartment is situated in a great area, filled with restaurants and pubs. Loved strolling around the cute colourful streets and also take some walks to the port, that is really close.

We stayed at the Foyer suites for 8 nights. There are so many things I could write, but you just HAVE TO GO AND STAY THERE!, so I will make it short: friendly owners and employees (Mr. Fernando, Francesca, Niki :)), clean!!!, comfortable, cosy, close to the city center if you go on foot, if you take the bus, it is even closer (the bus stop is two minutes away from the property). Private entrance and private lift! Great bathroom, veeeery comfortable beds!!!!!! You can park the car in the close vicinity for free, or inside the building for 5eur/day. Breakfast is plentiful and a good way to start your day. If you wish to explore the gorgeous city of Cagliari, the southern to SW and SE beaches od Sardinia, then the Foyer suits is definitely the place to stay! I recommend it to couples, families or solo travellers, actually to everyone! Thank you Mr. Fernando and Francesca for making us feel not only as guests, but as friends as well! Till next time.

The pros: Room was completely modern with good appointments and air conditioning. Included breakfast was ample. There is plenty of free parking outside the gate, and I was offered a remote that let me through the gate so that I could park inside The neighborhood is fairly quiet. I didn't hear anything. The cons: It's far from the middle of town or the waterfront. This wasn't an issue for me because I had a car. While it's easy to find using an app, there is no sign out front. It's in part of an apartment complex. It isn't staffed all the time. You need to make arrangements with the managers to meet you there. They gave me a mobile number, but my text/SMS messages bounced back for some reason. I finally ended up calling them, and they came over to meet me. That said, it was a good value (45 Euros for the night, including breakfast), and I didn't have to look for parking. The couple who runs are very nice, and the wife prepared the breakfast in the morning.
