Mabini
|2.49km from city centerTo go to this kind of island, you must be mentally prepared for inconvenient transportation and inconvenience for shopping and eating, so I stayed there for three nights and ate in the hotel. The hotel’s things are acceptable. The next morning I went to the vegetable market with the hotel's purchases, and wanted to buy some lobsters. I didn't know that the seafood over there was expensive and there was nothing to choose from. I didn't have to worry about it for the next two days. I just wanted to eat whatever the hotel had. The hotel staff are very nice, nice and enthusiastic. They will try their best to satisfy you if you have any requirements. Although they are a hotel, they feel like a homestay and are responsive.

|9.55km from city centerThe resort is near the beach, just a 5min walk from the resort. But the beach itself isn't that fine. Don't expect Boracay type beach with fine sand. It was quite rocky with a small patch of sand that goes along for a few km. But what it lacks in swimming it makes up on view and walkability. You should definitely bring water shoes because this beach is a nice place to walk on because the water was usually low and you could see all the sea life in shallow water. Or just play in the sand with the kids. The resort itself is small but the rooms were newly renovated. Everything was clean and the shower had hot water which I always appreciate. Bed was comfy and I slept well. The pool was good and had a deep end which is unique to most pools in the PH. But pool had no heater so it was absolutely freezing. The only thing that I could really complain about was the food. The quality itself was ok, home cooking and taste was decent. But it was around p380 or something for a tapsilog and other usual Pinoy favorites. so imagine a regular hotsilog for p380. Restaurants are far and few so you really have to plan where you want to eat if you stay here. Staff were excellent and the owners where there. They attended to all our needs very promptly and that definitely made up for the food thing. Would recommend but note the food.

|2.28km from city centerWe went to this place to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We have booked a terrace villa but we are upgraded for free to a garden villa. The room was spacious with three queen size beds. Ambiance is very relaxing and you can have a very good night sleep as the villas are located away from the road. There is no TV or wifi access in the villas so its good that the kids have a break with gadgets. One thing that should be improved is to have telephone to communicate with frontdesk, housekeeping or restaurant. The environment is also relaxing as it has so many trees and picture worthy locations. The pools are clean and they have two sets of pools with adult and kiddie pools. Food was not bad but nothing special either. Overall it was an enjoyable stay.

Mataas Na Kahoy
|1.28km from city centerMy husband and I randomly checked-in to their hotel and we chose the lake view room. It was clean and big. The view was really beautiful and noticeable as the large windows are just positioned right at the front of the bed. Even they did not have their own spa, they managed to arrange a relaxing massage service which was done in our own room. The king bed was spacious enough to have a couple’s massage. The food in their restaurant were also delicious and surprisingly cheap considering the cozy ambiance. But what we loved most during our stay —- the good quality service of their staff. They’re attentive and polite. Hopefully, same customer service is provided in all your branches. If yes, that will be truly commendable. This is a place that we will visit again if we want a break from the busy city life. Thanks to the whole team and all the best!

|16.85km from city centerIm staying here for my 14 days quarantine. The room is quite good, food is served with a little amount of viand. And the worst is their internet connection! I’ve been calling their attention (calling at FO and even message them in their social media) but it seems theres nothing to fix it. In my case, I needed the internet for my work since I have to answer emails and attend some zoom meetings, also my mobile has a weak signal also in this place. I am a hotelier too and I have a knowledge whenever theres a concern in each department. But here it seems theres a a little unfair, please treat guests in equal for handling requests and concerns not because we are here for quarantine and the govt paid for the accommodation. I feel also this kind of situation at your side, but please dont feel to us that you didnt even listen to my/our concerns.

|2.4km from city centerThere are many resorts in Mabini but unfortunately many have very steep stairs to deal with. Some have their restaurants or the pool located in an inconvenient location where we have hard time to walk up and down for the food. This small resort is perfectly designed in a way that we only need to walk few steps one time for check in/out. Beautiful pool, garden with sea view, very full breakfast. Food are tasty. Our children like it. All the quiet comfort for a good stay in Anilao!

|7.88km from city centerMe my partner and our 2 kids just recently visited this place. The hotel room is quite enough soace for the 4 of us. It was comfortable complete with lounge sofas on the balcony. Room service is delightful you can order from the 2 restaurants and deliver to your cabin. the sheets were clean and the very comfy to sleep in. The staff were very friendly and we were treated like royals. Very welcoming and accommodating. The receptionist even have us free breakfast vouchers which is fantastic. The pools were great and clean. We were able to use the slide it was fun. My kids enjoyed it. The ocean is also clean. They make time to clean the seashore which I think is superb. The wifi is working and you can have acxess in the entire resort not just in your room.pets are very welcome. They have caddies to take from point A to b. We also got free ice cream. Carmelas was the brand I think.
Honest reviews
For the restaurant barbossa. Not enough choices on the menu and very pricey. But the other restaurant which served us breakfast is great.
Our tv cant connect to netflix. Not much of a big deal just so happens we want to watch the last 2 episodes of bloodhounds. Still manageable.
The telephone signal to the reception is poor. We had to redial 3x to be able to speak to the staff
They have a free bike for each cabin to use. But ours was gone after we had dinner. not sure if our neighbor cabin borrowed it.
All in all i will still give it a 10 beacuse the staff were very friendly we will be visting again definitely

|2.92km from city centerThe hotel is good, the price is not high, if you are free to travel, it is not recommended to live here, there is a parking lot. The buffet in the hotel is average, you know the wifi speed, a bit stuck, the hotel is a two-story room, I don't know where the router is installed, if the room is far away, there is no signal at all. Hotel services are still available, providing pick-up service, but the price, as you know, is at least five times more expensive than in China.

|3.63km from city centerMy dog and I were actually celebrating our birthday during the stay. We arrived around 8:30pm as we had some errands before going to the resort. As for the room, WOW! So happy it’s just 1st floor and has breathtaking seaview since I have senior mom with me. The location is actually a little bit far but it’s understandable since it’s a diving spot. I really love that it’s almost a secluded place. The beach is not crowded and it’s beside the 5-star resort, so called Vivere. The service is great, however, the reception is so hard to reach. Their mobile number is not working, I think? Plus the telephone in the room. ‘Cause everytime I dial, it doesn’t push through. Just a suggestion, since the front desk is not 24/7, atleast improve the communication service with the reception using other platform like social media or messaging app to address guests’ concern. Cleanliness, it’s good but I spotted some stains in the linens, particularly with the duvet cover and flat sheet. It was an old stain which I think laundry can no longer remove it. But it didn’t bother me at all, so long it’s not blood. For the amenities, highly recommended! You don’t have to look for anything else because they have it in the hotel. I just hope that the elevator soon will be available (one of the staff told us). Also, kudos to the one who assisted us when we arrived. I wasn’t able to get his name but maybe he’s from HK Dept. I appreciated how he’s happy to help us eventhough we have to go down 200+ steps and go up as well. I think he was also one of the staffs who carried our things when we checked-out. :) For the resto, food was awesome and the staffs are easy to approach :) Overall, I will recommend it and surely will comeback, not just for leisure but for diving (as I’m planning to push Scuba soon). Thank you so much, Altamare! 💛 So glad I found this pet-friendly and peaceful resort in the heart of Batangas!

|18.42km from city centerI stayed 3 nights at 'Blue Ribbon Dive Resort' in Mabini to get some diving done in Anilao. The room I stayed in was quite basic but I never came thinking it was a 5 Star Luxury resort. What is it is a super friendly resort run by divers for divers... So basically you are coming here for quality diving with experienced guides and this resort delivers that in spades. It is run by a British guy (Jon) who is friendly, fair and fun with a team around him who are superb. All the staff at Blue Ribbon were excellent. Attentive and friendly both at the resort and on the dive boat (Bangka). My room was comfortable (great bed and great Air-Con) and clean, my only comment being that the bathroom could do with a bit of an upgrade. The food at the resort is first class. I ate from the local Filipino menu every day and all my meals were delicious, good portion size and affordable. If you want a burger, pizza, etc this is all available to. There is also a well stocked bar with a beautiful sea view, particularly so at sunset. As for the diving, this was superb and reasonably priced at 1800php per dive. In the 2 days I dived I did 4 dives each day and spent a total of 8 Hours 50 Minutes underwater. We dived a different site each dive and the resort guides, (Jeff and Dang), were both superb, as was Ogie their Dive Master. I had some of my own kit and rented some resort kit and everything I had was in good order and everything felt safe and organised... Relaxed diving. The amount of marine life and unique Anilao 'critters' were amazing and I will definitely be returning to Blue Ribbon March/April 2024. Keep it up Jon - Just what a diver (well this diver) wants from a resort. Superb.

They have a cafe on the ground floor, a restaurant on the second floor, and a gym. You must explore Tanauan Market's night market, which is nearby and only a short walk away. Santo Tomas
|6.89km from city centerPlanned a road trip to Padre Pio Shrine and found this hotel via Tripadvisor, which is the nearest hotel to the shrine. The check in was fast, front desk staff were accommodating and helped with our bags. We reserved two suite rooms and both were spacious, with king sized beds. it was lovely! No other restaurant in he hotel except for the Japanese one in the first floor and my kids wouldn't eat there so I asked if there were other restaurants in the vicinity (since the hotel is inside the First Philippine Industrial Park, it was very clean and it reminded me of Clark), and I was told there was a restaurant in Microtel Suites just a few blocks away. My children also asked if there was a pool and we were told the pool in Microtel was shared with Santomas Suites. Isn't that a little bit awkward? We might as well have booked in Microtel?!?! But anyway, my parents loved the big, spacious room and we were able to go to Santo Tomas proper and there were a lot of food choices there anyway, so that's okay. Also, I would like to mention that everytime we went out, the guard is just sitting in his chair, not even opening the front door. And that was several times. So I guess opening the front door and greeting hotel guests is not part of his job description??? All in all, the suite rooms are very good with all the amenities and we loved it! just be prepared to go out of the hotel (no room service) and into town proper for food and other things.

|14.58km from city centerImportant things first, would we recommend – simple answer “NO” Main issues: 1. We booked a room for 3 nights for my wide’s 40th birthday with a Queen bed. Sorry a 4ft6 bed is not a Queen bed. I know historically that this was sometimes considered Queen in olden days in PH, it is certainly no longer the case, and thus we consider this as false advertising. 2. Noise very old window mount style AC that did not keep the room at a comfortable temperature level and caused us both to have very poor sleep. This was raised after the second night with reception however there was no improvement. a. This type of AC is always noisy, and I noted this is not an inverter type, a new split inverter AC would pay for itself in 6 months! b. The location of the AC is wrong, tucked away in a corner. One of the most frequent design misunderstandings is air flow is more important than temperature. The best location for the AC is opposite the bed in any bedroom Unfortunately, I have only just now looked at various reviews online, and the above seems to be a recurring issue since the hotel was rebranded under the “Henry” name, and these 2 issues are not acceptable and consistence with the level and price point the hotel is trying to portray. They seem to have gone for looks with a freshly painted “Henry brand” colour scheme and interior design, but not looked at basic hotelier fundamentals. The fact this was also my wife’s 40th birthday made the issues doubly disappointing. Other items, starting with the good Pros: • Well-kept gardens • Friendly and professional reception & restaurant staff • Modern electronic safe • Quiet location • Food was good standard and okay price Cons: • I sent the hotel an email 4 days before arrival asking if it was possible to arrange a bouquet of flowers – no response • No in room fridge • Housekeeping never visited the room during our whole stay, late afternoon each day we visited reception to get what we needed • Swimming pool is small and with only 3 sunbeds • Beautiful looking beach, but is not soft but sharp sand which is impossible to walk across in bare feet • They messed up the bill and undercharged us on checkout and contacted us when we were already well away from the hotel, had to settle the balance by private GCash • No TV (I understand before the rebranding to “Henry” there were flat screen TVs). Whilst this didn’t really concern us. I would expect guests with children during the likely long period of rain this time of year would find it an issue • The restaurant ran out of SMB (despite shop over the road selling by the crate) and red wine Considering everything, obviously we would not consider staying at the hotel again, and considering the root causes, we would be unlikely to consider the “Henry” brand for any future needs.

|6.09km from city centerThe room is very clean and it's really like a hotel it has a comforter like the ones you see at hotels we availed the deluxe room so its not that spacious specially the comfort room only one person can fit in. You can bring your own drinks or foods too inside the resort you don't need to pay a corkage fee. They have court for basketball and volleyball the price is cheaper when you rent it in daytime. We also tried their full body massage for 1 hr that cost us 750 pesos each. You will need to go to their resto to claim your free breakfast if you avail the room that comes with a breakfast, it will not be delivered to your room but you can choose whichever breakfast meal they have in their menu plus it comes with a soup which is great and their foods taste delicious also the price of their food is reasonable but they have a 10% service charge for dine in and 15% for room service. The resto's cutoff for room service is 5pm, 7pm for dine in. The resort's downside is their operations time the front desk and restaurant is only open from 7am-8pm so if you're going to need something from the front desk after that time no one can assist you because they'll be gone by then only the guard will be left in the front door and also if you got hungry at night you might need to buy food from their resto before they closes or buy from a nearby convenient store because there's also no foodpanda or grabfood nearby stores also closes early so you have to plan your dinner ahead of time. We went to SM (closes at 9pm) the fare going there using tricycle is 120pesos.Their pool is only open till 9pm only if you want to eat or drink near the pool you can use their cabanas. Another downside is the beach, the beach area closes at 8pm. Their sand is gray (but a fine sand) you can't really swim in it because the waves are strong and the water is not clear and it's kinda dirty there's a lot of trash beside the beach it's not well maintained. You will really need to go island hopping which is already not part of the resort's activity so they'll let you sign a waiver. There's a lot of bangkero beside the beach it's best to ride by group there's only 2 of us when we rode the boat so it's a bit expensive, island hopping will cost you around 2000 (1 island) to 3.5k (2 islands) we availed the 3.5k. We went coral diving (they lent us their goggles for free or bring your own goggles) and also went at the white sand beach which is in Bauan, Batangas which also has clear water and you can also spot some fish and corals, travel time going to those 2 places is 35-45mins you can also bring your food but keep in mind to really cover it in plastic so it won't get wet because the trip going there is really rocky you will really get wet because you will pass by a strong waves so cover all your belongings. It was raining when we went there so maybe that's why the waves are strong. Overall we had a blast! We indeed had a memorable stay. They even gave us a gift when we checked out they're so thoughtful. Thank you for the wonderful experience we will surely recommend you to our friends.

|7.51km from city centerStaff welcomed us warmly, they were accommodating and courteous. The place was lovely. They had grey sand beach. Some garbage scattered all over the beach, as some typical beaches (I really admire palawan for their effort in taking care of their beaches. They have cleaners raking off leaves, sea****s and garbage if any.). Anyway, the room was good, aircon was working properly, bed were spacious, pillows not smelly, toilet was clean and showers are heated. The wifi was working well at the pool area and maybe some rooms around it. The room, services and free breakfast was perfect for the price. It is not a luxury hotel but I can say the that the owner and staff are doing great effort with their services. Its a great find for a budget hotel. We rented their cheapest room. There were 3 of us, 2 adults and 1 kid. There was even a single bed for the kid. The path going to the resort was a bit challenging. Once you reach the road where only one car fits, you might think twice, but theres no turning back: literally😂. Anyway, we had fun.

|4.6km from city centerThis review has been long overdue. We stayed during the first week of May for an overnight stay to celebrate my boyfriends birthday. Reservations team will immediately contact you after you successfully made you booking. I requested for a simple set up in the room since its a mini celebration but they said it comes with a charge so I just said no. Breathtaking view btw when you entered the lobby. Very quiet and serene, away from the Tagaytay-Nasugbu Rd .Early check in was charged tho I guess there were not much guests at that time. They gave us an upgrade with a room facing the lake. Understaffed due to pandemic. There was a bit delay when we entered the recreation area since the security on duty asked us for our health certificates which was already presented during the check in. But we eventually got in.. We got the pool all to ourselves. The ff morning, when we headed to the breakfast area, they immediately served it to us as if the food had been waiting all morning. The food was not even warm. My boyfriend liked the spanish omelette and I ordered tapang taal. Both tasted fine although cold. They held us during check out because their cabinets are chipping and theyre blaming it on us when it fact it was already like that when we arrived and we didnt even bother to complain bc its just a small thing. Overall, service could use some improvement. Its just like getting what you paid for since I got the room for just 3500.
