We wanted a convenient location to explore Mystic, CT and this hotel was perfect. You need to be reasonably mobile to do the things described below but there is a shuttle and taxis and ample parking if mobility is an issue. It is basically across the street from the cute shops and restaurants of "old Mystic village" and the fantastic aquarium. A graveyard that runs along the water is across the street (only seen if you want to go over there, beautiful place to walk and contemplate). It is an easy walk to the Cooper Farm Nature Center, and about 1.5 miles to the Denison Nature Center that houses hawks and owls in recovery from injuries and has a cute museum. A pleasant mile walk leads to the Seaport Museum with ships you can walk around in and lovely art. A bit further and you are in charming downtown Mystic with shops, the old draw bridge, 1/2 price oysters at happy hour, and stunning water views. We were there in February. I am sure it would be even more delightful to walk around in the spring and fall or not -too hot summer days. The hotel is not fancy, but it is very comfortable with spacious rooms. The breakfast was more extensive than I had anticipated. It appears people take a shuttle to gamble, but we did not do that. This is a comfortable, inexpensive, family-friendly place to relax and enjoy this village.

Can’t complain about my stay at all - very standard 2-queen bed room..pretty average stay...overall no major issues at all. Really probably my only issue was the breakfast but even that was definitely better than most hotels are offering nowadays so not too bad! And the staff were all very cordial and helpful. The room was spacious and very clean, with plenty of bathroom counter space and storage space in the shower for toiletries. It also had a fridge, microwave and Keurig which was well stocked with all coffee/tea needs. The beds were super comfortable and I had a great sleep both nights! Very quiet hotel too! No noise disturbances at all during my stay! I was also on a high floor and had an awesome view from my room of the distant hills brimming with the fall colors! The pool was open and people were swimming - not sure if you need reservations since I didn’t swim. The breakfast was grab-and-go with a cereal bar, yogurt, juice and a microwave sandwich with egg and cheese. Would stay here again!

This was our first stay at this hotel and we only stayed one night. We chose this location based on price and distance from the aquarium (it's about a 3 minute ride). The check-in process was easy and pleasant, our room was ready at 4 p.m. for check in. When I walked in the room, I noticed that my feet were sticking to the floor. There was a large sticky spill in the foyer area. I chose to clean it myself rather than calling the front desk (based on check-in I think they would have been quick to respond if I had called), but it did cause me to question the actual cleanliness of the room. The bathroom appeared clean, as did the bedding. The beds were comfortable and the shower was okay, though it did get cold quickly. The pool is small and our children were cold after 30 minutes, while they usually swim for hours on end. There is not a lot of room around the pool so if it is busy you may get wet. There were no cookies and the coffee was not available when we arrived but it was in the morning when we checked out. It was nice being close enough to walk to a couple of restaurants and to the shopping area. We also took a longer walk down to the Seaport Museum . Overall, we would be comfortable staying again but might stay elsewhere if cost was the same.

We stayed here for 3 nights and it was our first time in Mystic, CT. I loved how the hotel went above and beyond with precautions and disfecting. I felt very safe especially during these times where traveling can be a bit scary with Covid. All staff in the building were very friendly and everyone greeted us. Noone enters your room but if you need new towels, or anything they will bring it to you. You leave garbage out front. Very good safety measure. Our room was very clean and the beds very comfortable! The pool was very nice and breakfast at Irons was included as well which was delicious. We have no complaints at all. Also located across from the aquarium, and across from the olde village as well as a starbucks. You can walk to all of these. We thought the price was perfect and we would definitely return!

Our room was a good, comfortable size for a couple. The bed was comfortable. The water in the sink and shower got hot quickly and sustained a good pressure. The property is well maintained. Yet the grounds aren't that interesting. Our room was facing a highway yet we weren't bothered by noise from the highway. The staff was professional, friendly and helpful.

We booked The Luxury Suite that would accommodate our family of 5. At almost $300/night In the off-season we had expectations of a decent hotel room. The “luxury suite” is in reality a two-story condo in such disrepair (no freezer handle, exposed outlet in kids room, fixtures falling off the wall, closet pull missing, tippy toilet, ripped couch, missing stove, moldy shower caulk). It is so cheaply furnished with threadbare linens from someone’s grandmother’s house that had years-old stains and ramshackle furniture from various sets all thrown together. Cheapest possible mattress. There was a lamp cord draped across a walking space in the living room that was nearly invisible and tripped my son. The bathroom fixtures are baby blue and definitely from the 80’s. There are handwritten signs taped up in places within the room. There is no phone in the room although the phone cord is wrapped around the lamp so there was one???? No coffee set-up in the room although there is a coffee maker and microwave. Just to make things even worse, the super noisy Amtrak train runs directly behind the building every few hours. When I asked about it, we were told it stopped at 10pm but it ran until 11:15pm and started again at 5am. The room was fairly clean but musty smelling like nana’s house. This “inn” is a motel in terrible disrepair. They need to modernize if they are going to ever compete with even the cheapest chain motel. Ick.

We had a nice room albeit on the first floor overlooking parking. The room was clean with a nice sized bathroom. There was ample space to put our luggage. Check in and check out were both fast and efficient. Value was reasonable. The location is about a mile from Mystic Seaport. Negatives are that dogs are permitted. Also the grab and go breakfast was very poor, consisting of high caloric and high carb items and not containing any juice or coffee.

My son and I happened into Mystic after visiting the nature center dinosaur park in Oakdale ( awesome place ). Being the last week of the summer before school naturally everything was booked. We were tired so I was desperate and booked one night at the Whitehall mansion, which seemed like a cool old place. Not so much-when we arrived it was hidden among bigger hotel buildings and in reality is something literally out of haunting in Connecticut! I’d be insane to bring my small child there. Luckily, in order to check in I had to go through the Residence Inn, where we came upon Annie. She took one look at us and immediately understood the circumstances. She was so helpful, accommodating and made a room appear for us! The tv wasn’t connected, so Annie had it repaired within 5 minutes. We had a great night sleep, grabbed delicious pizza from Christos across the street, watched a movie and really enjoyed ourselves. The room is clean, big and really comfortable. There’s grab and go breakfast too. Thank you Annie!

We had a suite. Pull out bed and a separate bedroom with a kitchen. Did not use the kitchen but appreciated the extra space. Clean room. No problems with the staff who where very helpful. There were recent YELP reviews which I did agree with.

Let me start out by saying what a blessing this Inn was to our family. The owner responded to our inquiries immediately before we booked the reservation as well as when we were there. She is amazing and the staff was so friendly and helpful. Once we arrived, we new we had made the right decision to come here! This is saying a great deal because we were traveling with our teen boy and girl twins. Looking at the water, (every cottage has a view of the water) you can't help but feel relaxed. Entering into the cottage you could see the coastal theme running throughout every room. Absolutely beautiful! In addition to the sites, we were welcomed with a bottle of wine and music playing in the background.....just perfect! The kayaks were used almost immediately by all of us. My son caught a fish and continued to fish everyday! They also had paddle boards and bicycles for guests to enjoy. At night we enjoyed Smores by the fire pit. True family time together......you could not ask for more. In addition to the beautiful Inn and all its amenities we were close to all the sites.......including shopping, delicious restaurants, Mystic Aquarium, and a little further away,....you could even see shows at the casinos. So whether we wanted a relaxing day by the water, a leisurely walk, or entertainment ...... we were able to enjoy all of these. We plan to return with our family and also for a special getaway just for my husband and myself. Thank you once again for helping our family make special memories!

This was our first get-away since the Pandemic started. The hotel staff was great. Jennifer and Erin both were excellent communicators, and ensured we had a wonderful time. The concierge lounge was closed, and as our benefit, we were offered coupons for the breakfast restaurant which was great. Wonderful and fresh food, with a very friendly waitress both mornings. The front desk even helped us choose a hiking path that was not too far from the Hotel, and a few restaurant recommendations for very nice places with outdoor seating and water views. The hotel is clean and very hygienic for the Covid situation. A lot of signage and hand sanitizer stations throughout the hotel. The pool was great, as was the gym. We even ate at the restaurant at the Hotel for dinner one night, as they had some outdoor tables which we appreciated. I would recommend this hotel, and would love to return when the Spa is open after Covid is over.
