Meeting in the convention center, the nearby hotel is more expensive than the hotel in the center of the old city, and I decided to live in this one which takes twenty minutes to walk to the venue, it turns out to be very wise. The free bus card given by the hotel has a direct tram to the venue every day out of the alley, which is really convenient. The whole journey takes less than ten minutes. Surrounded by restaurants and shops, chocolate shops and coffee shops have various options. One hundred meters away from the hotel, there is the University of Basel Drug Museum, which is estimated to be the most complete museum in Europe and the world to preserve the history of the development of western medicine. . The room was clean, the single room was just right for one person, the shampoo worked well, no toothbrush and toothpaste, slippers, no hot water, two bottles of mineral water, aerated and non-aerated. I went to the restaurant on the first floor (good business at night) and asked for hot water twice. The waiters were enthusiastic and embarrassed.

we have stayed 2 nights at this hotel, with our 2 kids, 11 & 15 years old. we got 2 rooms (style rooms). the rooms are big enough and quiet. the breakfast was fun and tasty. nothing missing. the hotel is very clean as well as the bathrooms (i didn't find myself in need to clean anything my self). the personnel of the hotel is just something extraordinary. they were all so welcoming and willing to help. the first night was difficult for me since the mattress is firm. so i mentioned it at the reception and they immediately said they will find a solution and that i should not be worried. when we came back the afternoon, they have redo our bed with an extra confort soft mattress on top. that was so sweet of them! and of course that was conformable for me. otherwise the location is very convenient since you can reach the old centre from the hotel. as well as you have the tram next to it and at a short walking distance few bus lines. perfect location! we were all enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend this hotel anyone visiting basel and the area. thank you very much for your hospitality and for being so professional!

We utilized Chase Ultimate Rewards to stay here on November 25 and 26th. We had two rooms with King beds, one for my parents and the other for my wife and I. We arrived at the hotel at approximately 4 pm and went to the old hotel to check in. The receptionist helped my mother walk us back across the street to check in at SET which was much appreciated. The second receptionist at SET was able to get us reservations for L'Atelier Basel, the hotel restaurant for the same night. Our rooms were a relatively large size for Europe. The toilet and shower are in different rooms but both modern. The rooms come with a black out curtain which is much appreciated for jet lagged travelers. The bed was a King but a bit stiff. Although we were on the street side the room was much quieter than we thought it would be. The largest downside of the hotel was the room temperature. Despite it being in the 40s in the evening, the room felt extremely warm or in excess of 70 degrees. The second night we left the window open all night which helped some but the room continued to maintain it's warmth.

Basel is very small, just a 15-minute walk from the city center. This hotel is located on the edge of the city center, making it especially convenient for walking and public transportation. There is a beautiful lady at the front desk, gentle and polite. The room size is probably okay in Europe. Although the facilities are not new, they are very clean. There are capsule coffee in the room and the toiletries are provided by L'Occitane. The hotel is across the road from the Rhine, and there is a street behind the hotel similar to the bustling weekend market.

I had a single bedroom with the city view. The room is small but it's cozy and has all that is needed. The room and the hotel are very clean and breakfast has a good selection and quality. I loved the fact that everyone can help themselves to tea, water, gummy bears, chocolate and fruit in the hallway. I thought it was super. The only thing that was less good is that the floor is old, so when you step on some wooden boards you can hear the wood crackling - but that's a small price to pay for maintaining this amazing old building that was modernized with full respect to the old features. And above all... everyone was super nice and welcoming

The hotel has a long history and is in an excellent location. It is at the bridge of the Old Town Bridge. The bridge is the old town. It is a tram station that is tens of meters away. The hotel restaurant faces the Old Town across the Rhine and has a superb view. The restaurant has a high menu and good value for money. The room is very good and the family room is the same as the suite. Recommend friends to choose to stay. The right side of the picture below is the hotel. I don't know why this hotel is so high. Apart from the advantage of the train station, there is no room, the bathroom is OK, but the bathroom has no shelf for towels. The breakfast is similar to other hotels. It is not used by Chinese people. Foreign breakfast, hot water bottle, air conditioning, bus card, fruit in the lobby, McDonald's next to it, Chinese TV channel, the biggest drawback is that the room is small and the boxes are not open.

Our school travel coordinator booked this hotel for us, and at first we were dubious: it seemed far from the centre and looked characterless. We could not have been more wrong! The customer service was outstanding (not least from their beautiful four-legged guest greeter, Kiera the golden retriver). The rooms were extremely comfortable, clean and roomy. The breakfasts were just right. I have to single out the birchermuesli for particular praise. They thoughtfully had all our keys and rooming information laid out on a table when we arrived; they could not have been more organised. I would stay here again, with a school party, with my family, or on my own.

The hotel is conveniently located on the right side of the Central Railway Station! The room is big enough too! On a recent trip to Basel, Switzerland, we stayed at this wonderful hotel. We had flown all night, and then drove a few hours, so we were exhausted when we arrived. Nina at reception was extremely helpful and kind. She checked us in early, and she helped us with the parking garage access. She offered us beverages and she provided us with sightseeing information and mass transit passes. Since we arrived early the brunch was still available for about 30 minutes. She graciously invited us to relax and not be rushed, and the restaurant associates, Yves and Eros, welcomed us to dine, and their service was impeccable. The brunch was delicious and a great value and variety for the cost. The coffee was rockin’ good and it help us roll!! The hotel was peaceful and quiet and it has easy access if you are dealing with an auto. It is just across the river (walking distance) from the Jean Tinguely Museum which is a brilliant site to visit. From our room we could also enjoy a view of some interesting architectural buildings. This hotel is a hit which we will be sure not to miss when we return to Basel!

We had a great deal for our stay at the hotel. The days we stayed in Basel for the Swiss National Day weekend were extremely hot, but the building and rooms were chilled with air conditioners, which is rare and precious in Switzerland. The swimming pool was big enough and cool. We used it twice during our stay. The location is very convenient, close to the stations of several tram lines. A few disappointments: The bar restaurant was closed (due to COVID-19?) and noise from cleaning a room above or next to ours early in the morning.

To get to the hotel from the airport is very easy. Bus 50 to Swiss train station then Tram 2 across the river and you are there. The wife booked the trip and hotel as a Xmas present. We had been to Basel before about 12 years ago but only spent one night as we passed through. Hotel is very good, clean and easy to use. Staff were friendly. . You also get free tea and coffee during the day after breakfast, food for breakfast is fine, toast, muffins, cereal and a selection of cheese and ham. All fine. The restaurant on the ground floor is pizza and pasta, we had a meal In There perfectly fine, good service, pizza was fresh and stone baked. But no discount for residents... There is UK, fr, gr and it TV channels, rooms are a good size. Showers are warm and powerful. 5 minutes walk to river boat crossing to Munster. Nice little thing to do Near by outside hotel is a tram stop, shop, bakery and a kabab shop all you need to a visit Key things for visiting Basel I would suggest a minimum of 100chf a day if you plan to eat out well for main meals for a couple Cheap food can be found at street sellers and small shops like coop and migros. And most things close early, from 6pm things are closing up cafes and restaurants about 8 or 9pm And Sundays, almost all shops are closed. But all cafes, pubs, bars and museums are open, also free on the first Sunday of the month.

1. It is only a 5-minute walk from the basel central station, which is very convenient. Go out along the south exit of the railway station, walk through two intersections and you will be in a residential area. 2. The hotel and the next homestay belong to the same family, so you need to check in at the front desk on the first floor of the homestay 3. The conditions are similar to those of domestic four-star hotels, and the price/performance ratio is super high 4. The front desk has a good attitude and is always there. 5. Breakfast can be added and luggage can be stored. . . . There are two parking spaces at the door, because many of them come by car 6. The curtain is automatic and has a remote control highly recommended

While I am loyal to the hotels where I have a frequent visitor status (Hilton Group and Intercontinental Hotel Group) as these are not represented in Basel, I have a free choice, and for me Hotel Metropol is ym first choice. It is well located (2 minutes walk from the railway station; ten minutes from the city centre), it has friendly staff and most of the times I have been given a room upgrade. Rooms are clean, spacious and the facilities are great. The 8th floor breakfast room with its magnificent view deserves special mention.

Breakfast is the same for 3 days, but it is quite good. The hotel is quite new equipment. In my knowledge, the artificial construction is too expensive, and the new ones are thankful. Very close to the train station, 11 road, from the airport side of the Swiss side, go straight left and go out, there is a bus to the Basel train station, take the appointment to the driver to see, do not want money. Basel travel, the most worrying is the public transportation, the tram does not need money, the line asks the hotel front desk, they have a network to check. I am too urgent, expensive, 3 yuan for 3 nights, only to stay, Ctrip will jump more than 3,000 a night, do not care unless it is stupid

If it is a regular hotel, there are absolutely few in Europe. Pulling the name of Pullman, it's not like, I want a pillow to be sent by the front desk. There is an underground toll parking lot, which is very convenient to find by car. Breakfast is not bad, salmon. The room is also spacious, the 5 year old child did not add money, and the extra bed is enough. The two rooms that were given to me were in another small building and started to feel troublesome. The actual feeling was very good, especially quiet. The elevator from the lobby was safe and no trouble, and there was a little view. There is a tram downstairs. There are no restrictions on the roads in the city of Basel. It is very convenient to go to the river to see the scenery. The monument to the border of the Three Kingdoms is very convenient. Great location, public transport and internet in and outdoor, are included! As well as discount in museums and other places. They are very well informed. You have phone chargers available to take with you while you are staying at the hotel, umbrelas in your room, the drinks in the mini fridge in the room are included in the fee, no extra cost! The best experience for me was how helpful they were with my suitcases. I had too many suitcases and I had to travel around in Europe and out of Europe and they allowed me to leave my suitcases there while I was traveling for free! Of course, I have to stay there back in Basel, which is a pleasure! This saved my life as I didn’t know what to do with them while traveling around. I am so grateful how well taken care of I felt. I had no plan to go back to Basel in 2020, but after this lovely experience at the Hotel Wettstein, I decided to come back there. So I look forward to seeing the lovely staff again in the new year.
