I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this new hotel. My room was large, well equipped (including a kettle) and the bed comfortable. It had two balconies with a view of the street below and a glimpse of the marina. The walk in shower was powerful and easy to control. The wifi was fast and easy to use but I did not need the air conditioning. Housekeeping was of a high standard. Breakfast (included in the price) was simple, of high quality, presentation and service excellent. It is located a few minutes walk from Via Roma and Via Vittorio Emanuele in the old town. The area is rather run down but this was not a concern. The airport shuttle stops at Via Roma and was convenient. Above all I was impressed by the excellence of all the people working at the hotel.

We had a wonderful stay in the tripleroom with my mother. Our room and the open kitchen area where we had breakfast were newly furbished, fresh and clean. The balcony this early in the spring (first week of April) was a bit cold but was a nice plus and probably excellent when it gets warmer. The bathroom is big and fresh, nice warm&thick towels and amenities. The arrival, the breakfast, the hints and tips and help with airport taxi were superb!
Highly recommended place! If ever back in Palermo, we’ll definitely be back at Real Fonderia B&B! Thank you Emanuela!!

This wonderful B&B in the historic center of Palermo offered us small touches of luxury throughout our stay. The Superior room we booked was larger than expected, very comfortable with a superb bed and pillows, beautiful wooden floors and a nice bathroom. The few pieces of art on the wall and a natural fragrance (of the eco friendly cleaning liquids) rounded of the experience. We also enjoyed the tasty breakfast and excellent coffee as well as a friendly chat with the hosts who gave us perfect advice on what to see and where to eat. The long breakfast table made it easy to meet other guests and exchange tips on the fascinating city of Palermo; there were also a couple of small tables for the mornings we wanted to enjoy some privacy and celebrate our wedding anniversary (with a complementary bottle of very good prosseco offered by the owner). The breakfast room also served as a lounge during the day with a small free library, tea and cookies and pleasant music that made us happy just to sit on the couch and relax after walking everywhere during the day. We are really grateful to Sergio and Giada for their wonderful hospitality and all the personal touches that made our stay so pleasant.

My first experience with bed&breakfast type of staying turned out to be a very positive one. My room was light, clean and spacious, everything in the building is designed in a modern way. Although there were other guests in other rooms, my privacy was well respected. The breakfast is served in a nice room for all the guests and I especially enjoyed fresh croissants with jam and coffee! The host, Emanuele was very welcoming and gave great recommendations on the places to eat and have a drink, especially Frida restaurant for the best pizza in Palermo! I recommend to stay at Emanuele’s place to those who care about the safe area and good service. Many thanks!

Why? Best location in town: restaurants, bars, walking tours, shops, monuments, new rooms and clean, spacious, balcony on the square, great hosts. Palermo is a wonderful and magic city but bnb can be tricky or in areas that are not the best, especially in the center! Kala Rooms offer a professional service, with breakfast served at the local and very high end pastry place in the Marina square, just in front of the bnb. Top experience!

For the hotel set by cruise ship, the location is just opposite the pier, and there is also its own free parking lot, which is super convenient. The room is a budget hotel, which is quite satisfactory. The most unexpected thing was the hotel's breakfast, which was hearty, and overlooked the harbour. It's not far from the scenic area, if you can, you can walk along the beach to Sijiaochang and the Royal Palace. We walked slowly for about 45 minutes. Overall very satisfied.

The room is super big, and the boxes are just spread out. Because Palermo is not big, it is convenient to go anywhere. The front desk provides a map, but the Italian cannot be read, so I still rely on Google. One thing to complain about is that the door of the room is a bit loose. As long as someone opens and closes the door, it will ping-pong. The first night we thought someone was opening our door, which scared us to death. Later, when the problem was discovered, the cabinet with the luggage was completely dead and quiet. Personally, this is still a big problem.

We stayed here over the New Year. The location is excellent, right in the heart of the cultural and historic centre of Palermo. It is an easy, mostly level walk to many of the major attractions. The room was clean and characterful, and spacious. Breakfast was fine for us, it was a generous buffet, continental / Sicilian style. Paolo and his mother were great hosts, allowing us to leave our luggage after checkout as we had a late flight. We'd happily stay here again when we return to Palermo.

We wanted to stay in the Old Town to experience the feel of the narrow streets, local markets, museums, palaces, churches, and old buildings. La via delle Biciclette filled the bill! It is a flat in a 16th century building that used to be a palatial residence. The host parked in what was a grand circular drive-through entrance with tall ceilings and granite staircases to the upper floors. The B&B was very comfortable and the hosts made it like home. We hired the host to pick us up at the airport and he even took us to the car rental agency upon the completion of our visit. He and his wife were most helpful in guiding us to the sites we were interested in seeing and making excellent dinner recommendations. We were very happy with this most convenient B&B and the hosts.

we stayed here for one night. Arriving in the evening was a bit of a shock since part of the neighbourhood was run down, but the following day in full light we realised that a lot of palermo antique center is run down!!! the palazzo is beautiful and tastefully decorated, the room was ample very well appointed, the hygiene & beauty products as well as the bath towels were of very good quality. breakfast buffet was fresh and sufficient and included gluten free products which was great as I am celiac and had run out of my own supplies. The staff were very very friendly efficient and always available to help. There is a small square right in front of the hotel where you can park. We are planning a second trip to Palermo and will definitely stay there as a direct booking onto the website of the palazzo gives you an unbeatable rate that includes breakfast buffet. I stayed here for three nights in February and I slept in Room No. 1 - a quiet and spacious room with a comfortable bed, lovely flooring and a large bathrom. Although this room has a French window which looks out on a very enclosed space and gives little light to the room, I believe that, all things considered - for example the excellent breakfast, the charming and helpful hosts, plus the reasonable price - this is a very nice place to stay and I have no hesitation in recommending it.

We stayed here in August for 3 nights, i got a phone call when i landed to see how long i would be. Found the liberty suites after walking around for a few minutes, they are a bit hidden but didnt mind that. Went to check in out room would be ready in 10 minutes which was perfect. Room very spacious, air con, big bathroom. And a very reasonably priced mini bar. The receptionist was a gentleman couldnt do enough if we had any questions he done hes very best to answer them. Breakfast plain and simple, breads, cheese meats, yogurts. Very close to teatro massimo where all the restaurants and bars are. We tried to look online before we went and while we were there to see where tourists went for food and drinks and could find nothing. So head to teatro massimo and its all there. Would 100% recommended the liberty suites.

Been in this location between the 11th and 18th of August . I`ve visited severals hotels in Palermo due to the fact my family lives there, but always stayed in 4 stars and above. So, I was wondering what time was going to be. Wow , I was wrong! Reception : Extremely friendly service at arrival , the girl ( julia, i guess ) was absolutely wonderful on explaining us all the hotel`s facilities and times and showing good care for us. Room : An exquisite room with an AMAZING view , we took the one with balcony, we could see the whole city, fridge freezer full of different drinks, and several bathroom towel . And honestly , I`m very clean freak , and that room was spotless. Facilities: To find an Hotel in palermo with swimming pool wasn`t easy ...but with 3 swimming pools I reckon impossible, in the end of the day Palermo is a city surrounded by beaches so , not many are really keen on stay at the pool, but because of the location of the Hotel , those pool were the best, expecially the one that look at the city, fantastic. Restaurant : If you wondering where to eat , you have 2 choices , or going around in Palermo with the crazy traffic and been ripped off by a turistic restaurant or... enjoy an amazing service and the restorant ( i capricci di Cristian ) at the 5th floor of the hotel. OMG! the pizza was perfection. The pasta dishes pure art, and the desserts so delicate. I almost had dinner everyday in there, obviously a la cart...and even reasonable prices. The service was spot on, restaurant was full but 2 waiters managed to run it smoothly. Breakfast included : I`m italian by blood , so I didn`t mind croissant in the morning , but my partner is english , so he could choose a nice savoury breakfast with parma ham , salami etc...drinks were included too, which I was expecting it...and even if you see the orange juice coming from a machine , was actually quiet nice. Location: I knew what I was going to get , the hotel is far from the city and a taxi can be quiet pricy from there ....but ....surprise ....they have a transport service from the hotel to city center and back to the hotel, just following their timelines but 14euros p/p with return , I thought was a bargain , a taxi would had cost us about 80 euros (not joking). I had the chance to congratulate the Hotel Director , a very nice man that walks around doing basically anything he can do to make that place even better, I saw him cleaning , I saw him serving at the kiosko near the pools, telling people off from the glass that face the pool ( obviously for not respecting the rules ) this guy is amazing I must say. Conclusion : 3 Stars ? MMMmmmhhh I`m not sure, I`ve been in many 4 stars in Palermo and they were absolutely horrible . This structure deserve more than 3 stars, I truly reccomend it , and we will definitely come back. Thanks to the staff and management .

This hotel is a short walk outside the main stretch of Palermo. It's a little bit hidden and we had some trouble finding it. Google maps and some reading of the various signs was essential. The hotel is very small, taking up one floor of a tallish building. This means there is little street sound, which is nice. However, due to the small number of rooms, you're likely to be placed near the lobby, which is sometimes a little loud. The hotel has a bio theme, so there's lots of plants and some interesting handmade art on the walls. Our room had some art made out of orange peels, which was weird but nice. Breakfast was pretty good, although somewhat limited. The staff were very helpful and friendly. There is one warning to note: the elevator is very old, and very small. If you are at uncomfortable in confined spaces, you will not like this elevator. It is also impressively slow. It feels like the elevator could only be this slow by design. That's how slow it is. We usually walked the 8 floors of stairs going down, because it was quicker. Aside from the elevator, this is a convenient and cheap place to stay. Recommended.

Where do I start? With the thing that makes this stand out from any hotel, and probably most other B&B's - Georgia. She is the perfect hos, and takes such pride in her immaculate renovated apartment. You really do feel like family and there's nothing that is too much trouble for her. She even wasted 2 hours of her day just chatting to me about life in Sicily when I arrived early off the overnight ferry before my room was ready. No matter what you need help with - transport, sightseeing tips, where to buy just about anything....she will help. If you want to get a glimpse of real Sicilian life, this is the place to stay. Location is fantastic - in a beautiful old apartment building in the upscale part of town. An easy walk from the port and into the centre. Plenty of eating and drinking options for all budgets nearby (Pastry Martino on the opposite corner serves amazing canoli and great coffee, and Pizzeria Biondo had the best reasonably-priced pizzas we had in Sicily), and a nice vibe on Friday and Saturday nights. The rooms were immaculate and very thoughtfully designed with the quality you'd expect from Italy. There were a few comments about the noise from other rooms - if you've lived in an apartment this wouldn't be an issue. If you haven't, earplugs are supplied, so don't let this put you off. The B&B is a large 4/5 bedroom apartment on the 5th floor (or thereabouts) with a breakfast room - I'm not a morning person but I enjoyed chatting to the guests who were staying there as the sort of people who stay at B&Bs tend to be interesting to meet, and good for sharing tips and travel ideas. All in all, I cannot recommend this B&B enough. Palermo was the highlight of my Italy trip, and this B&B was the best I've stayed in. Grazie Georgia!

I would thoroughly recommend this little hotel. It is run by two enthusiastic sisters - they really are "La Laconda Del Gagini"! We flew from Stansted, London and the flights to and from Palermo were late. We very nervous of taking a taxi without phrasebook Italian - but they picked us up from the airport, dropped us off when we departed and even stored our luggage during our departure day. They made great recommendations of things to do, and were very sweet with our children. Our room was enormous! (compared to other Italian hotels that we have stayed in). The room was also kept clean and spotless. It had an old palatial grandeur - with Wifi. The hotel is central in a quiet side street, with lots of restaurants, markets and sights within easy walking distance. Breakfast is good and Sicilian - lots of cake. We are hoping to return one day.

Just came back from a 16-day trip to Sicily and we loved every bit of it! Palermo was the last stop of our trip and we spent 4 nights at the Quattro Canti B&B. Location is excellent, just right opposite the Fontana Pretoria (fountain of shame) and few steps away from the beautiful Quattro Canti junction. Teatro Massimo is a convenient 10mins walk away and the airport bus is round the corner in front of Rinascente. We felt very safe in this area and there are many restaurant options within 5 mins walk. We had a room on the second floor facing the next building hence not much of a view. Room is okay overall and bed is firm and comfy. The restaurant on the top floor has a good view. Special thanks to Bernadetta at the front desk who was extremely helpful with all our needs.

There were a few things that made this stay good and not so good. Firstly, the noise from the outside street enters the room. You can also hear the tv from the next door room and people talking No extra pillow or blanket was provided. One bedroom wasn’t made up when told it would be. First impressions on arriving at night was “what have I got into?” As the surrounding area looked quite neglected and somewhat scary. In daylight it looked better, but it is still outside the old area and the total precinct is quite dirty and unkempt. The way that Salvatore has renovated the property’s beautiful, but there are a few little things that would further improve the stay. For €10 it was nice to sit down to a table that had been immaculately set and served breakfast, however, for the money, it wasn’t quite worth it. There is only so much food one can eat for breakfast. By not including breakfast, this also means that this is not a true b&b in the sense that we know it. Also, there weren’t enough eggs for everyone and there were two slices of salami and four slices of cheese between six of us, however, there were plenty of rolls and pastries. The other disconcerting things were that the family live adjacent to the rooms and have a security camera within the living area that was part of our accommodation. It was like Big Brother watching over us. The owner is rightly, very proud of his accommodation, so be aware that under no circumstances is oily food allowed in the accommodation at all. We found out the hard way by being strongly told off. With all of that I’m not sure whether I would stay here again due to the noise factor from the street, the restrictions and the area.

This is a combination of the very old (a refuge for fallen women we were told) and modern comforts. It is a swine to find, especially on a Saturday afternoon, when roads and alleys are blocked, but once you get orientated, it proved very central. Very helpful and gracious staff, a pleasant breakfast, decent wi-fi, comfortable rooms arranged in an unusual layout. Once inside it is quiet, outside can be noisy due to an ethnic community centre being nearby where people seem to be enjoying themselves! All on all, quite a find.

We booked what was called a «de luxe penthouse», so we had certain expectations. We got disapointed. The standard of the apartment was average, at best. Description said airconditioned. There was one ac-unit in the apartment. It was in the living room, and it was not powefull or efficient enough to cool down the whole apartment. We had to sleep with our bedroom doors open, and the temperature was still 25-30 C. Description said microwave owen and dishwasher. There where no microwave and dishwasher. Description said free wifi. Well, there was some kind of wifi, but it was none-functional. We asked the manager to fix it. She said she would look in to it, but nothing happened. So, no wifi. Description said 3 bedrooms. There where two bedrooms, and two beds on an open loft, with a very low ceiling. The refridgerator was broken. We asked them to fix it, and they brought us a «brand new» used one the next day, which worked fine, but they did not remove the old one the week we stayed there. Description said extra bathroom. There was one bathroom. The toilet seat was broken. Toilet paper-holder broken. Towel hanger next to shower broken. Cup next to bidet broken. Soap dispenser broken. Washing machine broken. Mould in the shower. The walls where stained, but the rest of the apartment was clean. The beds and pillows where a little bit hard, but this is our personal taste. The apartment is situated by a busy street, so we expected some street noise. The noise was beyond all imagination. Not only from the traffic, but also from the restaurants and nightclubs across the street. Extremly noisy neighbourhoud, night and day. Easy walking distance to good restaurants and the town center. View from the terrace was nice. One of the chairs on the terrace was cracked. Manager was attentive, answered our questions, and booked airport transfer for us, which was a fair deal. These are honest facts about the apartment we had. We are experienced travelers, and we would advise the managers of this apartment to wright an honest description of it. To call IT «de luxe», is just a fraud, and has got nothing to do with reality.

He made our stay in Palermo a great experience and was there for the difficult situations that we were facing - found a solution of our rent-a-car problem and even drove to the airport in order to give us the mobile phone that my father has forgotten in the room. As a conference organiser, I could not ask for a better venue. The place is fantastic (although that's almost a given, in Sicily) but the real difference are the people. Everyone was extremely helpful and accommodating, and the staff made a big difference in making sure that the conference ran smoothly. Food for lunches and coffee breaks, from an external caterer, was also great and kept getting better every day. My room was clean, well kept and likely recently renovated. The conference halls are spacious, modern and the acoustics are perfect. It is a bit hard to reach if you don't have a car or get a taxi, but that's hardly the hotel's fault. Finally, they adhere to Addiopizzo, an anti-mafia consortium of companies who refuse to pay extorsion money. This was also a big pro. Definitely recommend a visit.

We had originally booked to stay in a city centre apartment for our visit to Palermo but unfortunately the day before we were due to fly out we were contacted by the owner who advised that there was a major problem with the plumbing and we would need to cancel. We at once looked for a replacement and came across the Hotel Serena on booking.com for a little bit extra in cost but booking would refund the difference. The photos of the rooms and the hotel itself looked quite nice and all rooms are advertised to have a city view. However just like anyone meeting someone off Tinder for the first time and discovering that your date for night looks nothing like their profile picture you are in for a big surprise. We contacted the hotel and advised we would be arriving at 12 and it was confirmed this was ok and we would not be charged extra. We arrived at 12:15 and after walking over a mile in extremely heavy rain we were pretty wet and just wanting to get into our room and freshened up. The hotel itself is accessible through a door in the street and we rang the bell several times before going upstairs. We were greeted by a female member of staff who just shouted "Passports" at us. We were then told in Italian that we had to wait. An offer of a small towel would have been appreciated at this point. When we did get into our room shortly after we had several orders barked at us and were left in the darkest room we have ever stayed in. We thought we would open the curtains to look at our city view and let some light in. What we found was filthy air conditioning units, rotten clothing and rubbish everywhere. The bathroom was very dirty and the bathroom window would not close so the mozzies had a free buffet. On the first morning we were woken at around 6am by shouting / very loud chatting. We realised this was the staff in reception. This continued for a few hours making it impossible to sleep. We are not lazy people and often work 16 hours a day at home so a lye in past 6am is nice on holiday. The male staff were originally quite nice, if not abrupt but the main female member of staff is very rude. We opened our door to go out on the first day and before even closing our door she shouted goodbye to us. On returning that evening we found our bed had not been made and all they had done was thrown fresh towels in the room. We decided to look for somewhere else and asked if it was possible to check out early. We were advised they were ok with this but Booking would not allow it. We then contacted booking and after a few hours it was sorted that we could leave but the hotel would be charging us an extra day. To be honest we were just happy to leave. When we left the hotel that day before our last evening we were told abruptly they knew we were leaving and they needed a credit card. Being overly caution I said I would pay cash and also asked for a receipt. I would also say that every conversation was in Italian - This is obviously understandable as

The hotel is located near the center of the town of Palermo. Our room was reasonable in size, typical of European hotels. However, it was hard to find enough room for our luggage and other things. There was no desk or chair in our room to work at, or to use a laptop computer. There was no clock radio to use as an alarm in the morning. No matter, we brought our own alarm and did not need to use a laptop. However, the toilet flushed poorly (others in our group said theirs didn’t work at all). The shower (no bathtub) was modern and roomy, but lacked a place to hang a towel for when we stepped out. And it was very sensitive to others' use of the water elsewhere in the hotel - the temperature varied from too cold to too hot. There was no bar soap - only liquid soap. Bring a washcloth, as they provide none. In the middle of the first night the water was shut down for repairs. When the hot water was turned on in the morning it ran very dirty for several seconds until it cleared. Then it was okay. Throughout the first night the temperature in the room was a cold 66 degrees Fahrenheit. The A/C would not respond to adjustments from the room, nor could the A/C be turned off completely, and the cold air came out of a vent aimed directly at the bed. After requesting a repair the next morning, we were told it had been fixed. Later that day, when we returned to our room, it was a very hot 79 degrees. After our second request for repair, it finally worked as required. The second night was much better. Temperature was fine - and seemed to respond to the room thermostat adjustments. And the shower was much more stable. There’s hope. The breakfast buffet was good, and had a variety of hot and cold items. In the evening, when we asked the desk for simple change for a 10 Euro note (for a housekeeping tip), the desk was unable or unwilling to provide it. We were also told that we could not get change at the hotel bar. Not very helpful. In total, I believe that this hotel could be excellent. The physical location and the basic design of the rooms was very good. However, it has a way to go. All of the things that make for excellent reviews are missing. Others in our group agreed with our assessment. The hotel generally seemed to be unwilling to go the extra mile for its guests.

This B and B has great rooms, is exceptionally clean, and is well located for visiting Palermo. The breakfast is great, with lots of choice and excellent coffee. Our host was helpful - with choices of sites to visit as well as local restaurants. He was also very knowledgeable about Sicily - and the best way to get around. A very enjoyable stay! Thank you.

Pleasant flat in an appartment house in a very central and beautiful district of the old town. All tourist attractions are in walking distance incl. train station and bus terminal. The flat is very clean, the matrazes excellent, the bathroom modern. Overall the flat is appealing, showing the footprints of culturally interested hosts. The nights were quiet and the window could be left open. The hosts give great advices and offer on request personalized and professional city tours which give insights on Palermo behind the scenery (the guided tours are also highly recommendable to guests interested in art and architecture).

We were very well looked after at this B&B which is walking distance from all the main attractions. Our host was welcoming and went out of his way to make sure any questions or problems were resolved quickly. We were fortunate enough to have one of the rooms with a painted ceiling. Although not pretending to be a luxurious establishment the rooms and furnishings were delightful and all basic requirements catered for. The fridge in the room was especially welcome as was free wifi throughout. The windows were all double glazed contributing to a good night’s sleep. Some of the rooms have one or two single beds in the room as well as the double bed which makes it ideal for family groups. The buffet breakfast was as good as we have had anywhere. Any pastries, fruit etc left over were available for the rest of the day as well as a large selection of teas, coffee and water. There are a number of restaurants minutes away. Both the ‘hop on hop off’ buses and the airport bus service stopped a block or so away so overall the location is ideal on a number of fronts. My only word of warning is that the Metro is being extended in the street on one side of the hotel. From the state of the work I would imagine this will continue through October so if you think this might concern you, even with double glazing, then you should check the location of your room when booking. I certainly have no hesitation in recommending this establishment.
