Not easy to get to if you have lots of luggage/elderly/hard of walking Room nice and big with an amazing view from the balcony. It is Cochem's low season so it was very quiet and probably not up to the standard they are rated at. I arrived by train and thought it I would take a walk to the hotel. The last 110m is very steep uphill and if you have a lot of luggage and elderly, this will certainly test you. If I had to be critical - • wifi shocking. Both in connectivity and speed. Will not let you you go to internet, something I needed for further travels; • my room was on the top floor, lots and lots of stairs after walking up the steep hill to the hotel. Really not easy if you have all your trave luggage to haul up and down; • Asked for a large double or queen bed, it was two single mattress pushed together in a king wooden frame; • Breakfast not worth waiting for, take it or leave plate of bread with cheeses and cold meats. No other choices; • as I'm English, most of the TV channels they said were available in English where not. Not a deal breaker but the whole town shuts down at 7pm so watching some TV is not a bad option.

The hotel is about 15 minutes walk from the train station. The balcony is booked and the view is beautiful. The room is beautiful and the price is very high. The breakfast was very good and enjoyed the view. The town of Cochem is perfect for a holiday without a holiday. It is very beautiful and has an atmosphere.

We booked this hotel as it was pet friendly. We were celebrating my father’s 80th birthday (he’s been wanting to cycle along the Mosel) and this hotel could accommodate us all. From first contact email to the end of our stay, the staff were amazing. We had a mix of balcony/river view and town view rooms, every family member was happy with their accommodation, and the only complaint was the water pressure in one shower.. this was rectified immediately. We spent 5 nights in the hotel, we found the breakfast substantial with a mix of cereals, cooked food, cold meats, fresh fruit, yoghurts and juices, a variety of teas, and a pot or two of coffee on the table every morning. Staff were helpful with suggestions for cheaper parking, cycle hire, trains and buses. The whole family also made use of the sauna every afternoon, a lovely relaxing space to chill out in. The only negative was a lack of tea/coffee making facilities in the bedrooms (but is that purely a British thing?) All in all, for location, helpfulness, friendliness and quality, I’d recommend this hotel as a great place to stay. It is in a perfect position to enjoy Cochem and the surrounding area. It was easy to get to from Amsterdam ferry port and both Düsseldorf and Cologne airports via train (with change at Koblenz)

We had had the pleasure of staying here for 1 night. We tried to book another night but not surprising.. it was fully booked. This is a family run hotel/bar/restaurant. We did not eat dinner here but let me tell you... the amazing aroma throughout the first floor had our mouths watering. We did go to the bar for a night cap and the owners father was keeping bar and he sat and talked with us and suggested a route to go on to our next German destination. He was lovely to talk to. Our cute little room was on the top floor so we got our exercise as there is no elevator. We had a balcony overlooking the castle! Magic!! Very comfortable room and beds. Breakfast was very nice and a wide variety. It’s in a great location to everything! Parking is on the street but the hotel offers passes so you can park there. I would highly recommend this hotel for your stay in this beautiful little town!! It is now my all time favourite town in Europe!

The "Storm" arose after we got off the train and went directly to the Tourist Office to seek accommodation. They told us there was nothing available as everywhere was full! We trawled around town calling into likely places, always to be told they were fully booked. As a last resort, before going back to the station, we saw Hotel Cochemar Jung on the river front by the bridge. We went in and the very nice receptionist said they did have a room, albeit at a price! We were offered a look first but we just grabbed it and agreed the price. The room was on the first floor with a very nice balcony looking over the promenade and river. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom efficient and the breakfast was excellent, served by nice friendly people. The weather was glorious and we really enjoyed our 3 night stay at this hotel. It was a bank holiday weekend in Cochem, hence the dearth of hotel rooms. A pity the Tourist Office didn't explain this but our stay at this hotel certainly made up for the possible threat of disappointment!

This was our third hotel in our Grand Tour 2018. The drive from Bad Ems was interesting as we dived back through the Malberg Tunnel, through Koblenz, then onto Cochem. Now I had been to the Moselle twenty years before and stayed the weekend at Zeltingen- Rachtig, while working in the Netherlands. Visited Trier and generally loved the area. To be honest I liked the look of this Hotel from the start, excellent location, lovely frontage, and the town of Cochem looked a great location with good transport links (River, Road, Train). Arrived early morning and easily managed to park right in front of the hotel. Check-in was quick, and very straightforward, and the details for where to go for lockup for the car were superb. The room we had on the left corner at the top with great view of the castle from the small balcony, room number 302. The room was excellent, very clean, and very well equipment the bed was outstanding with clean crisp sheets and pillows. Left our bags and went off to park the car, the lockup is near, and easy to use, very secure, room for about six cars. Short walk back to the hotel past a conveniently situated supermarket. The hotel comprises a covered area patio up steps leading into lower area comprising of to the right a reception area, through to a lift for all floors, seating and counter (cakes to die for), then up to two more steps to the restaurant used for breakfast. The kiosks for river cruises are right in front, the railway station off to the left, the walk to the chair lift, just past the mustard factory (Historische Senfmühle Dehren), this gets you up to the fantastic views from the Pinnerkreuz. The hotel is in the town itself, lovely walks and plenty of wine shops! Only used the car twice, once to visit Zeltingen- Rachtig, where we stayed the weekend all those years ago, and then over the river, up the hill to revisit Weingut Markus Molitor, anyone who is in this area and does not visit and buy some of his wine must be crazy. It’s the best German wine I have ever had, and I have twenty year’s experience! The short drive, or by short river cruise, to the quaint hamlet of Bruttig is well worth it, and it has it’s own wine with a unique and fabulous label! Back to the hotel, best breakfast we had in Germany this trip, and very nice and extremely helpful staff, great comfortable bed, with crisp clean wonderful sheets. We enjoyed our stay enormously, and hope to come back in the future. This hotel lives up to one’s expectations and delivers on what you expect. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

A very nice hotel located in a place where you can have a great view of the river and the castle. I had a really cozy and comfortable single room (#2) from which I had an amazing view of both the Cochem castle and the Mosel River. The food at the breakfast buffet was also very good and I was able to find anything I needed. And last but not least I'd like to mention Herr Stumberger for being such an excellent and kind host. He explained everything to me the night I arrived and he was very helpful during my stay at the hotel. He remembered what kind of coffee I drink and he had it ready on my table the moment I stepped in the restaurant! He was also very kind as to arrange a taxi for me for the day of my departure so I wouldn't miss my early morning flight. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who visits Cochem and wants feel like home during the stay!!

I booked this hotel for a weekend as our wedding anniversary celebration. We were welcomed very warmly and personally escorted to our room. We had a balcony with a view of the vineyards, castle and the town below. It was great. The room was nicely equipped and had a German queen bed (two twins pushed together) and was comfortable. There was even a bottle of local Reisling in our fridge as a welcome gift. We decided to have dinner in the restaurant that evening and were pleasantly surprised. The meal started with a cream of garlic soup (divine!), salad and entree of very tender beef slices over vegetables and au gratin potatoes. Dessert was home made apple strudel with vanilla ice cream. Absolutely delicious! We also used the schwimbad and sauna during our stay and had massages at the Wellness Villa (which was a tad challenging to find). Everyone we came in contact with at the hotel was very personable and friendly with the exception of the person at the desk of the villa. When we arrived for our massages, we were greeted in German and as we gave the girl our paperwork we asked - in German - if she could speak English to us. She glared at us and stated very brusquely "please sit down". I totally did not expect such a sharp greeting and we just walked over to the seating area. This was the only part of this experience that I would say was negative. Would it be enough to not recommend this hotel? No. You can't blame everyone for one sharp, rude comment. The experience overall was great and the food was really good. I wouldn't normally have paid this much for a hotel room but it was a special occasion.

First impressions were very good, but sadly not everything kept up the standard The Good Nice reception and bar area, Staff on the whole were friendly (especially Remus). The restaurant was clean and spacious and the food was good. A nice small pool and sauna area . A pleasant view from the balcony. The Bad Room 82 had the smallest bathroom ever, so small when the door opened it took up over half the area, There was no air-con. and the room was cluttered with three chairs , The whole room needed updating, The garden was needing attention especially the weed strewn walk to the restaurant, Lastly the location was over a mile to the centre of Cochem. not the hotels fault but don't buy the 15 minutes they say it takes

This hotel, Moselstern Hotel Brixiade and Triton has two buildings by the name of Brigade and Triton. We were staying in the Brixiade wing. The rooms are small but well kept. The rooms which we were staying were facing the river and had a lovely view. The hotel has a bar and restaurant which serves German delicacies. The breakfast was yummy with lots to select from. The hotel is within walking distance to city centre.
