The parador of Xàbia/Jávea is a four stars hotel in the area of El Arenal , one of the 3 big areas in this amazingly corner of the Valencian Country. In the Center of Costa Blanca , this is a god point to start to discover the really overwhelming landscape and small cozy beautiful corners of the place : Cap de la Nau, Cap Negre, Cap de Sant Antoni , Javea’s harbour , Xàbia town, Dénia, Moraira... i specialty recommend Cap de la Nau and Cap Negre. This was our second stay at the parador / hotel and this time we discovered Xàbia town itself , the Harbor area ( do not miss the church from the 60’s a model of the new architecture), the old gothic church is in the old town , and the beautiful town of Dénia with its old town full of narrow streets and small picturesque squares , the Castle and the good gastronomic offer in its many restaurants. Coming back to the hotel : ask always for the top floor(4th) so to have better views, clean, big bedroom and bathroom , fantastic balcony with unforgettable sea views, enough place to keep your things in the wardrobes and tables. Really a 4star hotel . The breakfast buffet was not the best one we have been in, but it is quite good and as for the quality : excellent. A plus is just leaving the hotel you will find the sea promenade with a very good interesting offer of restaurants for dinner or bars for a drink, all of them by the sea. The staff was helpful and correct but we missed some smiles.

We stayed here last week for a couple of nights as part of a tour around Valencia. Very comfortable room with a small patio garden. Breakfast in the market was delicious. We were greeted by Heike who was charming. Parking arranged through the hotel was in the Placa de la constitucion underground car park and was very reasonable, so head for that to park up on arrival would be my advice. There is a bar attached to the hotel and again our welcome , from Manuel, was very friendly and helpful. This hotel is in a great position in the old town and we will undoubtedly return.

I booked a table here for Christmas Day in the evening in the hotels “acclaimed” restaurant and was expecting a lovely dinner, I could not have been more disappointed. When we were shown to our table it was not in the main restaurant as this was closed, but in a conservatory like room next to it. No decorations, view, music or ambience what so ever. We chose from a set menu, but to start were all given a salad with cold sliced duck breast. It was a strange mixture of flavours which were not pleasing on the palate, bitter radicio lettuce, fresh pineapple, sweet corn, indescribable dressing all overpowered the minute slivers of duck which had a thick layer of fat which was gastly. A soup course was next, lobster bisque with a ravioli. It looked most unappetising as it was a dirty brown colour and tasted as bad as it looked, with one very overcooked ravioli floating on the top, which was terrible. My sons ordered the steak for two people which was the “biggest,” literally disaster of the evening. After being asked how they would like their steak cooked, they were presented with a huge, T Bone steak on a WARM cooking iron. This chunk of meat which I can only describe as looking like “a dogs dinner” was served blu and I presume the idea was that you cooked it to your liking. This was not possible as the cooking iron was not hot but barely warm as we felt it with our hands. I had to tell the waiter it wasn’t hot and without apology he removed it, but left the accompanying vegetable. It was returned finally sizzling and cooked by ourselves on the table, sadly it was tasteless with lots of fat, gristle and bone and I had to ask for fresh hot vegetables, which arrived almost when the meal was finished. The waiter was not attentive and when we complained about the food he very rudely laughed and walked off. I had monkfish which was also mostly inedible as insufficiency cooked. The plates were all stone cold and the food barely, much warmer. Overall it was without a shadow of doubt “the worst ever meal” I’ve had in a 4* hotel anywhere in the world let alone Dénia. I would not return here even if offered a week of free meals. It was my first Christmas in Spain and I can honestly say it was a gastronomic catastrophe of epic proportions.

My husband and I arrived at this hotel around 17:00 after a long drive with our two children. We were told that we did not have a reservation. Fortunately we printed our pre-paid confirmation from Hotels.com and showed it to the front desk. Rather than apologizing, the hotel staff was curt and told us they would try to figure something out. They then told us they could give us an "upgraded" room with a sea view, but also told us we would have to change rooms the next day. We had prepaid for a junior suite and explained that sea views were not important to us with kids. We then tried to ask the hotel for some compensation for all the inconvenience. They did not apologize, did not provide any compensation, and had us move rooms. When I tried to negotiate with the owner/boss he claimed to not know how to speak English (he apparently learned it overnight as he was perfectly fluent the next day) and told me through a staff member that it was "more work for the staff" to move us. This is a small boutique hotel with a very good location and restaurant, but the lack of hospitality ranks it as one of my worst hotel stays ever. We told the hotel we would write this review here and in other places, and rather than respond to our clear call of concern they said "well, you are entitled to your opinion." To our minds a testament to service is how the staff (any staff) responds to adversity. To say the response in this instance was poor is an understatement.

We were visiting my mother who lives nearby so this was off season with few other residents. The hotel was very good ( we were originally booked for Les Rotes which was closed for refurb). There are also apartments available.I spotted a tennis court and pool. plenty of free parking. We had asuperior room so had a nice terrace with loungers and a very good sized bathroom. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The dining room still opens even if it looks quiet. The seafront is just a few metres away. The main road entry to Cami Ample is pretty tight so proceed carefully. It's a brisk walk (20 minute)into Denia either by the seafront of the road.

We came here in July. It was to be a 2 night luxury stay as a stop-over. I booked through Reserving.com and paid fully for 2 nights. I had a call from Reserving.com later to say it wasn't now available. Not their fault, Swiss Moraira failed to take it off their availability. So I gad the stress of worrying about the refund. I phoned the hotel direct and they confirmed this. But they said they could accommodate us for 1 night. So although I still hadn't received my refund from Reserving.com., looked forward to experiencing a wonderful stay. We arrived a little early, had a good welcome and was told we could enjoy the pool while we waited for our room. All good so far. The pool area is beautiful, a real oasis. We loved it. Our room became ready. It wasn't the room I had originally booked but was spacious. I had originally booked a room with a jacuzzi on the patio. BUT, whilst unpacking, saw something sparkle on the floor. On inspection, I found 5 pieces of glass, probably a glass had been knocked of the bedside table. I, of course looked very carefully in order to pick up all the pieces (we had our 2 little dogs with us) so looked under the bed to see if any had fallen under there. No glass there but I did see that it hadn't been cleaned under the bed. And this in the Covid 19 environment. More disappointment to come, and this the worst, for what is a luxury stay without a fantastic dinner. After we sat down we perused the menu for about 10 mins and made our choices. The head waiter came up to us in a flustered demeanour, handing us an A5 piece of paper saying, we couldn't choose from the main menu because he had just been told the chef hadn't turned up (what!!? this is a 4* hotel!!!) and we'd have to choose off the simple 2 choices for each course, as the assistant chef didn't know how to cook everything on the a la carte. Unbelievable, more Fawlty Towers, less luxury hotel. My husband said that we didn't like anything on the short menu and for him to cook our choices. I think it was a mistake, each course was either lacking or awful. On checkout, even though I had an inclusive of dinner rate, they wanted to charge me over 70 euros extra. The manager and receptionist juggled the bill and in the end gave me a 10% discount. By this time, nearly 1000 euros had gone from my bank account. I was stressed, needed to get on our way. On our return, and reflecting, felt that the 10% didn't reflect our poor experience. I sent an email saying as much, they replied asking for my expectations. On account of all our problems I suggested a further 40% off. I said if ever I have any problems, that if they are solved then I would never comment negatively. However, I have not been responded to since. Everything stated here is a true account. Hence, we will not be returning.

We are ONA membership owners, booked here for 3 weeks to get some warmer weather [ex-Scotland]. The days are very hot but much cooler in the evenings. Close to a supermarket & cafes including an INDIAN Restaurant. Easy walk to Marina where there are many good restaurants. Further on is the centre, with many eating places and cafes. The Castle is worth visiting. Back to the resort, the room was comfortable, not the best we have experienced with the ONA resorts, limited kitchen area, we had to request a kettle when we arrived! There is no freezer, oven nor filter coffee maker, but a small fridge & 2-ring hot plate. At this time of the year the pools were closed & no sun beds set out around the pools. There is however an indoor pool and gym.
