It is a beautiful part of the world and this was our second visit to the hotel having spent our honeymoon there . I did ask when we booked last year to have the same room and I emailed that request again in March . We were disappointed that did not happen. The other thing that stops the review being a 5 is the state of the free shuttle bus to Sorrento . It is pretty shabby and where I saw other shuttle bus drivers helping elderly passengers on and off the Corallo drivers were disinterested . Special mention for the gent who covers reception who on the morning we left made flippant remarks when our transfer driver turned up late and told me to ring the number myself . Ringing England at 8am on a Sunday morning for a taxi in Italy was not on my expectation list .

This is the best location for Sorrento to watch the sunset. The hotel breakfast is great, there are about 15 cars in the yard, the parking is relatively adequate, and it takes about 5 minutes to drive to Sorrento. Opposite the hotel there is a platform to watch the sunset, and there is a nice restaurant on the terrace. The seafood pasta is delicious!

Our first time to this beautiful area of Italy and found the Caraval Hotel to be a fantastic choice and a Classy Hotel in a superb location away from the lively Sorrento main areas. The Hotel provides a free courtesy bus which runs every 30 minutes to the Bus terminal close to Piazzo Tasso and the Driver was always so kind and helpful. We used this many times although we did do the 23 minute walk on a few occassions. The staff were super friendly and helpful, especially Angelo in the restaurant and Giuseppe in the main Bar.We had the comfort room at the front of the hotel with nice small balcony. The breakfast was very good, great choice of continental type food and you could also order pancakes, Cooked eggs and omelettes etc. So glad we found this Hotel and stayed in this area of Sorrento.Hope to return when possible.

Let me start by saying that this is a magnificent property situated in a great area along the coast in Sorrento. The architecture and design of Hotel Parco dei Principi is one of a kind. This property has so much potential to be one of Italy's premiere hotels, yet it's not... after staying for 3-nights I feel very ripped off after paying a 5-star rate. I spent 9 nights in Italy, this was the most expensive of all four hotels we stayed at, and while the rooms were clean and property great the service was far and away worse than any other - not 5-star service! One thing that was very odd was that I had ordered a gin & tonic on 3 separate occasions... a very simple drink, every time it somehow took 45 minutes to bring at dinner. The staff continually checking in and saying that it's coming soon (2 shots of gin and a bottle of tonic is all I needed, this place has 3 or so bars!), somehow it took this long every time. They would bring out appetizers, my girlfriends wine, DINNER and still said the drink was coming soon. And then similar issue by the beach with a snack... over 2-hours for Calamari. They gave us 15% off the food/drinks after we had complained, though I'm more concerned about the rates/expectations here. Outside of this the staff was all friendly but the reality is every other property we stayed at both 4 & 5 stars had better quality service and more helpful staff. The last night the upstairs had a ton of banging and noise coming from it as well which kept us up which was a bit annoying, oh well, happens. Again, the staff was very kind and hotel was very nice.... it was just not at all a 5-star service and experience. Had we paid 2/3rds the rate on the room and it was labeled a 4-star hotel I'd have had different expectations and this review would be 4 or 4.5 out of 5, but that wasn't the case.

The 5 star aspects of this hotel are the friendly efficient staff and the stunning view across the bay. The rest struggles to get anywhere near 5 stars. Together with my wife we had a 3 night stay towards the end of May this year. Had a very good meal on the dining terrace on our first night, couldn't fault it or the first class service that accompanied it. The buffet style breakfast for the next 3 mornings was also good. Fresh with plenty of choice. Our bedroom was clean and comfortable but had an 'old, dated' feel about it, could find only one electric socket so a good job we'd taken a multi adaptor. Kettle provided but for a 5 star hotel a very limited choice of tea/coffee. Also no biscuits or 'nibbles'. This may sound a little petty but this is a highly expensive 5 star classed hotel. No free bottled water, again disappointing. The shower in the bathroom was functional but with more of a dribble of water than a steady flow.. The toiletries provided were sparse with a 'cheap' feel, again disappointing for the price and grade of hotel. The pool area was clean and tidy, towels provided, water was freezing. There's a small snack bar on the floor down from the pool. 30 euros for 2 toasted cheese and ham sandwiches and 2 small bottles of coke. 10/15 minute steady walk into the town. Yes, its uphill on the way back but we didn't find this a strain and we're 65 and 61 yrs old. We didn't chance the walk to the beach at the back of the hotel as this involves a flight of very steep stone steps which didn't appear well lit. Overall we had a pleasant comfortable stay but found the hotel overpriced for what it offered. If we do return to Sorrento in the future I very much doubt we would again stay at the Belair.

This b&b is at the centre in all senses: It is certainly a little central as everyone in reality, but it offers the minimum you need, but perhaps as much as it costs you should offer more. It is near the hospital so if you have the room on the way the decibels are high while from inside you have little to see but at least there is silence and it's our choice and we were very good. There is no breakfast and it is a pity because with that price in other facilities it is planned. In this free water and coffee structure (in other facilities there is a positive note) it was a pity that the water heat for the/camomila did not work. The coffee machine was going to the great. Clean structure. The clean and ordered room. The bathroom also was the dressing of the accessories. Unfortunately, at the reception there was never anyone on the morning we were without toilet paper (I had to go out to buy the dressing). They gently allowed us to leave the baggage and pick it up later (it was not easy since there was no one and we had to wait for the cleaner woman to lose the train). I must say, however, that the owner was kind and willing to give information and suggestions, and if you are at the right price you can advise.

My husband and I have just returned from a weeks holiday at this excellent hotel. Lovely big room with balcony with automatic shutters.Wonderful bathroom with large opening window(so stopping the horrible muggy bathroom) & rainfall shower. Traditional in decor but with every modern extra. Breakfast plentiful, varied and delicious. The garden/pool area is simply delightful & the bar provides snacks & salads/pastas which were delicious & plentiful Staff were very friendly, but not overpowering, courteous & totally on the ball. Always aware if there was a need for anything. Lovely little touches like lemon sweets on your pillow at bedtime. One of the best parts the smell within the hotel of flowers…gorgeous! One little quibble, the noise factor of people walking about but then that’s due to the beautiful tiles. All in all a wonderful stay.

Hotel breakfast is good, equivalent to the star hotel level, save the hotel method: from the pier, then take a 1 euro lift, reach the above city (photo 1), then walk 8 minutes through the small square to reach the Grand Plaza (with flags , photo 2), then take the main street (walking path, photo 3), various shops on both sides, you can buy drinks in the fries shop of photo 4, and take a rest on the chair opposite the church door (photo 5) (also Take a drink at the roadside bar), then continue on, go down the slope on the side of the hospital (square), turn left at 50 meters, walk for 7 minutes, reach the road junction where you can drive, then Turn right and walk 100 meters across the road (passing an uphill parking lot) and you are at the hotel.

Absolutely love this hotel! We stayed here again this month after also staying there in 2018. It was just as great as ever with the fabulous breakfast buffet to the rooftop. We ended up doing sunset on the roof every night and we had the best drinks and little bites. And we loved the homemade lemonchello. The views of the town and Mt. Vesuvius are great and the staff was so friendly and fun. And took great pictures! We had a mattress that had a broken spring, but they brought a new bed up to the room and took the old one out. Just very hospitable place. Also the best location to walk everywhere and to get down to the beach (through a crazy elevator built in the rocks). Anyways this place does not disappoint.

We are at the Rivoli now, the place is so clean, the staff so helpful, nothing too much trouble. The wife liked the look of the chocolate cake at breakfast but she doesn’t eat chocolate cake for breakfast so the young female assistant cut a portion wrapped and passed it to my wife without asking “here is some for later” I saw a one stare review about several ludicrous things that the person thought wasn’t up to standard, one was there wasn’t a bin in the bed room 🤷‍♂️, well there is a bin in the bathroom. When people write reviews like this it’s a. great shame as it’s unreal and unjustified, just trying to scam the hard working owners out of some money. Special thanks to Teresa who communicated with me from enquiry through to arrival and answered every question about every aspect of anything that I asked. She is so pleasant, always happy, always smiling always helpful. If you want a first class mall personal hotel in the centre of Sorrento then this is the place for you. Oh yes, there is a nice lift that’s always available at the press of a button. G 👍

This hotel is beautiful in every way. The lobby alone is a showpiece. When we arrived, we were told that we had been upgraded from a Quadruple Executive Suite to 2 Executive rooms on the 6th floor. The rooms were spacious and elegant featuring balconies with the most gorgeous views of Sorrento. The beds and pillows are so comfortable they draw you in. The bathrooms are unbelievable large with both a soaking tub and a stand up shower. We were there in the off season so unfortunately we were unable to enjoy the rooftop deck or what seemed to be a welcoming outdoor pool area. It is a 10-15 minute walk to the historic district. We loved the location because it was close to everything and yet tucked away into a very peaceful area. Every member of staff from the front desk to the bartenders and porters could not be more accommodating. My only very minor criticism is that there weren't any USB ports for charging our electronics. We will hopefully be lucky enough to visit Sorrento and stay at this Hilton again. I highly recommend it.

We where greeted with open arms and fantastic smile by Giuseppe upon arrival. He was in contact with us prior to ensure he was present upon our arrival. We arrived early so we went shopping and sightseeing while our room was being made. When we return our room was ready early and he upgraded us to superior suite. What a pleasant surprise to the day. The room was spacious, clean and refreshing with a French balcony to the main street. The bathroom was large for 2 people. The location of the B&B was perfect, right in the historic center easily accessible to all the shopping and shops. The breakfast was simple continental style. The price was very responsible considering the location. Thanks you for a great stay.

The Bay of Naples ferries all stop right downstairs and there Re many nearby restaurants as well as a nearby elevator that takes you to the main square on too of the cliff. Truly a beautiful place on earth. We rented a boat right downstairs it took us to ue Grotto, all around Capri, Positano for lunch and Amalfi town. Also took us to other caves and waterfalls in the area that are not teeming with tourists. The most beautiful clearest waters. The entire region takes your breath away and this is the perfect hotel to experience it all from. Very central to all of Sorrento.

I can't recommend this hotel enough; the decor is beautiful, the view from the roof terrace stunning, the lemon-trees and secret garden cool and calm. The staff are knowledgeable, willing and helpful, striking exactly the right balance between friendliness and respect. Our rooms were spacious and spotlessly clean - as indeed was the rest of the hotel. Breakfast, eaten in a room with crisp white linen tablecloths and doors opening onto the morning, was a feast, catering to a wide range of tastes. I would be back there tomorrow if I could.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 days in Sorrento. The hosts were incredibly nice and welcoming people. Rooms were cleaned in 10 minutes tops and breakfast was awesome everyday ($10/person/day). They helped us navigate local transportation with directions and gave us great restaurant recommendations. If you’re going to stay here, we’d recommend two local eateries: Ristorante Bagni Sant’Anna by the Marina Grande and Taverna Allegra. This hotel was located in the main square so be prepared to hear people talking up and town the streets at night. Besides, we loved being in the middle of the action. There are plenty of gelato shops, souvenir shops, bars, and attractions near by. Everything is walking distance, including the train station which is a 10 minute walk away. The port is 15 minutes away walking. Definitely coming back! Grazie for everything! 😊

We recently stayed three nights in a deluxe 2nd floor balcony room. The hotel location is superb for exploring the city. The room was not huge, but large by European standards, with a retractable gate that walled off the balcony at night (or during horrible inclement weather, as the balcony faced the bay). Great views! The furniture was what one could expect in an older hotel, starting to show its age. The bathroom was tight, with a tub/shower (old) that one has to really step up into. The couple we traveled with had difficulties getting in and out. No coffee in the room. If you like to watch television on vacation, be warned it was only a 27". But with that being said, the hotel has Luigi. He made our stay wonderful. Anything we needed - he was on it. He would greet us every morning during breakfast and would be there 14 hours later to help us with drinks or snacks every night. From restaurant recommendations to re-heating take away food, Luigi went above and beyond. Would we stay there again, definitely.

Pool area great, always enough beds and little bar. Rooftop lovely to sit with drink. Good location, 10 mins from train, lots local bars/restaurants on street or extra few mins into main town which is brill. Yes street is busy, its Italy, mad traffic, horns & scooters, (the patio doors so good you dont hear this in room) All part of the experience. The Grand Hotel de La Ville , is a very friendly and comfortable hotel well situated only 5 - 10 minutes walk to the centre of Sorrento. We arrived early and were very grateful that our room was ready at 11 a.m . We really appreciated that our request for an early check-in was able to be accomodated. If they couldn't there was a safe place we could've left our luggage if we had needed to. Our room was a Premier sea view on the fourth floor affording excellent views over The Bay of Naples and Mt Vesuvius. The views from the 5th floor and the rooftop bar are even more impressive. The room had everything you'd need with plenty of storage space. The king-size bed was very comfortable with the best pillows I've rested my head on in a long time. There are plenty of power sockets including a multi-connector phone charger and a UK plug socket . All the staff were extremely friendly, efficient and helpful and a pleasure to deal with. It was my wifes birthday whilst we were there and the hotel generously left a bottle of sparkling wine in our room for her on the day, a lovely and much appreciated gesture. We would definitely recommend this great hotel and hope to return one day when back in Sorrento.

We booked a week’s stay at the Grand Hotel Capodimente as we planned several excursions to other places around the area, Pompeii, Herculaneum, Naples, Positano, Capri, etc. We treated ourselves to their ‘Best Suite’ at a smudge under E1,000 a night and expected our accommodation and experience to reflect that sum. We were disappointed. Their website shows [still] pictures of our ‘Suite’ which were false and misleading. Firstly, our room was a single room and not a Suite. At best it was a Junior Suite. All or most dictionary definitions of an Hotel Suite read similarly. Wikipedia states “A suite in a hotel or other public accommodation, such as a cruise ship denotes, according to most dictionary definitions, connected rooms under one room number. Hotels may refer to suites as a class of accommodations with more space than a typical hotel room, but technically speaking there should be more than one room to constitute a true suite.” Our ‘Room’ had 2 large sliding windows, each with a sea view beyond a single balcony. The photos on the website had been cleverly edited. The first photo is the view through the left-hand window, according to their website. The second photo is the real view. We asked if there were any better Suites and our question was met with disdain by the Manager. His narcissism was offended that we should question the indefensible evidence. We needed a shower to recover from the journey. Our Room and Bathroom were recently renovated and looked good, but the water infrastructure had not been up-dated, thus the shower takes 15 minutes to run before it becomes hot and the trickle of water from the thoughtful Bidet, make it unusable. The Bathrobes supplied with our Room sported an embroidery reading ‘Manniello Hotels since 1878’. I can certainly confirm that the bathrobes were indeed at least 140 years old. Grey, with a million washes or more, they were as rough as sacking, threadbare, damaged and a disgrace. The shaving mirror in the bathroom was broken and thereby unusable. They could not even be bothered to unwrap the toilet rolls. We needed a coffee and our Room came with Tea & Coffee making facilities. No, not a Nespresso, a plastic kettle and 4 sachets of Nescafe. Being both Coffee drinkers, 4 x 3.4gr sachets did not go far and housekeeping explained we were limited to just 4 sachets a day. Coffee could be obtained from Room Service at a cost of E10 a cup! The King-size bed was good, but we were told not to expect daily clean sheets. The following day we ordered a single toasted ham and cheese sandwich which took 40 minutes to make and deliver and was totally unappetising as the photo depicts. At E15 for an inedible sandwich on a paper plate, it was an embarrassment. The management were then curious why we chose not to eat in the A La Carte Restaurant. I’m guessing you can imagine why. We arrived in a rental car and regardless of the ‘Room’ cost, we were charged £25 a day to park in the adjacent Car Pa

We have just stayed at GH Aminta for 7 nights booking with Jet2 Holidays. The hotel is in an elevated location overlooking the bay of Sorrento with great views from the terraces and sun-rise rooms. The sunset rooms look out over the road and gulf of Naples towards Capri (which you can't see because of the surrounding hills). The hotel seems a little dated / old fashioned and most visitors were over 50 so not much going on and the bar empty after 10;30pm. The rooms are on the small side and if you book with Jet2 you pay a hefty £400 extra for a room with a balcony. We booked a sunset room but were given a sunrise room (402) on arrival - it was very late (almost midnight) and we were in no mood to argue. Turns out that the sunrise rooms are much better because they are not so close to the road noise. The a/c in the room did not go below 24 degrees, we asked 4 times for this to be looked at but nobody bothered. We booked half board and the food was basic with limited choice in the evenings, the breakfast was poor for a 4 star hotel. We ate out a few times to alleviate the boredom of having to sit at the same table everyday for breakfast and dinner. The staff at the hotel are very courteous and speak perfect English, they are very happy to make your holiday special. The only person who wasn't very friendly was the receptionist with the pony tail, she was rude and abrupt. We had a late transfer and the hotel were kind to provide a room to shower and change before heading to the airport. Best bits: The pool, pool bar, free shuttle bus and terrace views. Worse bits: The food, the receptionist, the price for a decent room. Overall we enjoyed our holiday, but we would not return to GH Aminta if we go back to Sorrento. We would look for something more modern.

We very much enjoyed our four-night stay at the Palazzo Jannuzzi. We were upgraded to Junior Suite room 24 (thank you!), a lovely, big, airy room. The Palazzo could not be more conveniently situated for exploration of Sorrento. Room 24 is on the side and was still a little noisy at night, so for us a room overlooking the piazza would not have been good. Breakfast was served in another light and airy room (with the option of eating on the roof terrace) and provided a good start to the day, although having to ask for basic items such as rolls, or prunes, and needing to say how many you wanted, was a trifle strange. But they do do exceedingly good cakes! Although they have managed to fit lifts into the old building, lugging heavy baggage was a bit of a chore (there is no porter service). The staff were however always friendly and helpful. A couple of suggestions for improvements, especially for older visitors: the stairs lack "wasp-stripes" to show where each riser finishes, so we came close to falling more than once; and with no grab handle in the over-bath shower, and no non-slip mat provided (until we asked for one), we felt quite unsafe when the bath was slippery with soap.

We really enjoyed our service at the hotel. The place is a 10-15 minute walk from the center of Sorrento, inside a nice garden. The rooms are clean, very comfortable and maintained to a high standard. The owners were very friendly, and helped with any questions we had. Free parking, was a big advantage. There is a small grocery store nearby, a number of nice pubs and restaurants, so on some evenings, we gave up getting to the center, and ate in the nearby area. There is also a self-service laundry, near the hotel. Location Location Location! Have breakfast sat on your own private balcony overlooking Piazza Tasso Square. We had a wonderful time here. Silvana is the perfect host. Nothing is too much trouble. It truly is a home from home. I have stayed in many hotels from 2* to 5* worldwide and you cannot beat the warmth and hospitality of this little bed and breakfast in the very heart of Sorrento. I wholly recommend the Excelsior Suite, the best suite in the house...with 2 balconies - one overlooking the famous Piazza Tasso square and a huge round bed, it is just wonderful! If your looking for new and contemporary look elsewhere, this is a typical old Italian building with very high ceilings and a lovely old worldly feel. I am a Travel Agent from the UK and will definitely be sending my clients to this little gem. Having stayed in many hotels in Sorrento over the years, I would choose to stay here next time I visit. Don’t hesitate - just book it!

This accommodation wasn’t for us, however I would say that was from personal choice rather than something specifically wrong it was small things that added up. We were staying in “superior bungalow” some of my family were staying in a sea view and others in a more basic (which I certainly wouldn’t have stayed in), so my superior bungalow came with air conditioning, a fabulous shower, and a two ring gas hob and fridge. The pool is massive but is only open from 09:30 till 18:30 and swim caps are essential (don’t know how that’s a covid thing). One end of the pool is very very deep but you can’t see the depth unless your walking round the top of the pool to see the depth as it’s not visible in the pool. To access the sea area you have to prebook your spot the day before for the sunbeds, my cousin (whose a seasoned sea swimmer as she swims in the Irish Sea) felt it was too rough for children so didn’t take my daughter in, it was also a really long way down from the hut I was staying in. I call it a hut as although it was superior it was small, thankfully if your going out for the day it’s okay to just use to sleep in, however I didn’t find the beds the most comfortable, I think it’s a memory foam mattress which was okay however the pillows don’t have pillow protectors on them which grossed me out, and I had a sore neck from them, if you wanted a blanket it was stored in the over bed storage and was very much like a standard army blanket. The morning of check out we asked reception the night before to pick up our cases and then went up in the morning to remind them and they still managed to forget. I wouldn’t recommend walking to/from sorrento as it’s a very busy road and we witnessed three accidents in four days we were there on that road usually involving a motorcycle, most seemed to be okay. Plus there is a shuttle bus at €1.50 which takes you down and runs every half hour or the public bus which is across the road. Minimart/restaurant: they were constantly running out of food, who runs out of pizza in Italy! That was the day we arrived, had to go down into Sorrento to get basics like milk cause the mini market didn’t have any, I don’t know if it was supplier issues. Wouldn’t stay again. I have varied between 3 and 4 stars, I think that for where it is eg Sorrento coast and some of the facilities if your looking for just a place to rest your head then great and for couples fantastic, I don’t think it’s for young families due to the space in even the superior lodges, and the play park only goes upto the age of 9.

The environment is very good, just on the cliff by the sea, the sea view of the Mediterranean Sea is in the bottom of the eye, the hotel breakfast is also very good, although it is not very suitable for the Chinese stomach, but it is quite rich, the restaurant view is also great, get up early in the hotel to have a breakfast, the mood is very good . The hotel has a private beach, but it is not a beach of sand. It is rock. It can directly reach the beach by elevator or down the tunnel and swim directly in the sea. If you don't want to swim in the sea, you can swim in the hotel pool, which is very suitable for vacation. The fly in the ointment, the room always has a taste. When driving the car, because the navigation problem is always open to the hotel, in fact, the hotel to the Sorrento Central Station is also 7 minutes walk, location, landscape, matching, are unparalleled.

It is said that we upgraded the room, the bathroom is really big, but there is no bathtub, and there is echo in the air. Tea Time can choose a cup of tea every day from 16:00-18:00, and you will be given a small dish of biscuits (8 small pieces of us) to choose to drink on the indoor balcony, or you can take a small balcony outside, just overlooking the building. The hotel is in a very lively small street, about 800 meters away from the railway station and bus station. If you do not arrive at the check-in time specified by the hotel, or leave at the check-out time, it is best to make an appointment first, as there is not always someone there. The reception staff are very enthusiastic and will answer all questions.

The location is about 5 minutes from the train station. It takes about 8 minutes to get to the city center. Very convenient. The room is large. excellent service. However, the sound insulation equipment is not good. I heard other people walking through the corridor or closing the door next door. I want to sleep a little later. But I heard the sound of cleaning the next room.
