We stayed in the apartment for seven nights in June. The bedroom and living room apartment is surrounded by a large balcony with a magnificent view. You can see to the sea, and the towns in the plain near Catania. we loved it so much we just want to live out there on this balcony! The town is quiet and pastoral. It has an ancient bell tower whose ringing fits in with the birdsong. The apartment itself is spacious and clean. The refrigerator and closet are full of breakfast supplies. In the living room / kitchen there is a huge window open to the view and if you wish you can eat on the terrace table. (There are also sunshades and loungers). We loved the feeling of privacy, the secure parking, and the wonderful service of Claudio, who also recommended a very nice restaurant within walking distance. It is recommended to arrive by car in order to travel around the area, since the town is situated right between the sea and Mount Etna and can be used for many car trips in the area.Shopping center is about 10 minutes drive. There is no doubt that the next time we get to the area we will return to this beloved apartment!

This hotel was off the beaten track so I recommend you hire a car as there are only two decent restaurants within walking distance. The hotel is clean and modern and the swimming pool busy due to the fact locals have access to the pool. Our room was two tiered and as our bed was upstairs and the TV below that was a small issue, other than that I couldn’t fault the hotel or staff.

Loved this place. Very decadent old building. Room was beautiful with fantastic aircon. Housekeeping was great. To eat breakfast on the rooftop looking at Mt Etna was breathtaking. I’m gluten free and they accommodated me well. Breakfast was the usual continental with also fruit and boiled eggs. I’d go back to this hotel in a heartbeat. All the staff are so helpful and friendly. I loved being the only English there. The rest were french and Italian. Because there was no English there was no carry on over sun beds or any bad behaviour around the pool. You definitely need a car staying here.I feel I really would of been unhappy without a car. My only niggle during my stay was I kept getting bit around the pool. There’s a lot of greenery and it needs to be sprayed. No amount of insecticide spray I bought would stop the bites around the pool. All in all a charismatic romantic hotel. I’d love to return some day.

We chose this hotel for its value and proximity to the Etna parkrun - just half an hour's walk or 5 minutes drive up Monti Rossi. As it turned out it was a lovely little hotel with charming and helpful hosts. We were offered a room with ensuite as complimentary upgrade although we'd booked a cheaper room, which was kind. The room had a high ceiling and view over the entrance and of Etna's snowcapped peak. An almost alpine feeling here as throughout Nicolosi - which is a really nice small town. Comments about the room... We couldn't work out the air conditioning and although it's only late April we needed it! Was warm in the night and had to open the window right up to let the breeze through the shutter. And with the window open you are then conscious of intermittent traffic passing all night long. So you may want to check how the AC works when you are shown your room! The shower was small but good enough. The tap water tasted desalinated- a bit nasty- so strong advice is to buy a big bottle of mineral water before your arrival. Wi-Fi was available but not strong - I turned it off in favour of mobile data. Three plug points in room for charging phone - bring standard European adapter. For parkrunners, you can squeeze in a quick coffee at 8am but it's hard to fit breakfast in. The host kindly made us fresh coffee when we got back about 10am but then we had to shower and check out . While in Nicolosi, visit the Volcano museum. It's tiny but informative. They can talk you through things in English. We ate at Chianini (separately reviewed) which was absolutely amazing value for really good steak! €40 Euros per kilo for rib on the bone and the local house red was very good!!

We stayed here just for three nights on a last minute deal. If you stayed any longer you would need a car but the hotel has their own driver so your transfer from the airport and back is included which is convenient. The drivers will also take you anywhere (for a price) but we found that really useful. The hotel is in the hills above Aci Trezza and the other reviews are correct, do not attempt to walk down to the town, it’s very steep, the roads are narrow, no street lights and they drive like maniacs over here so book a taxi! Catania is about 20 mins away by car, the hotels driver will take you there for 20 Euro. There is a supermarket, fruit stall, pharmacy, bakery and small cafe just up the street from the hotel but we also found a trattoria and pizzeria just 10 mins walk away, past the pharmacy. The road is wider and safer than the route down to the town. Whilst you are here do not miss visiting Etna and Taormina. We booked a full day trip from Trip Advisor. mount Etna is astonishing. We chose to go right to the top but take appropriate clothing as although it was 24 degrees at the bottom, it was freezing at the top. Taormina is definitely worth a visit, very pretty town with fabulous shopping. However, in the height of summer I imagine it would be incredible busy and hot! Sicily’s Residence was a great stay for us. The hotel has good services, the reception staff are very helpful and the rooms were great. Breakfast is served at the hotel but if you’re half board, your evening meal is served at their restaurant in Aci Trezza. Even if you’re not half board, their restaurant is definitely worth a visit. The food is great, and being a hotel resident, you get 10% off.
