great location, away from the caos of the downtown, since the collapse of the bridge, never a problem finding parking in the parking lot, right next to a shopping center, awesome room, clean, and very helpful staff, unfortunately they changed the layout of the restaurant, no more table cloth, and they changed the menu, the carbonara was flavorless, our server Antonio, was the greatest, bravo

Decided to forgo all the amenities of an "American-style" hotel and stay in "appartment-type" setting with shared bathroom to boot (Oh, what the h*** - its only for 2 nights!) Basically we were not disappointed! Michael is terrific host! very friendly, helpful and extremely accommodating! The location was convenient for us - couple of minutes walk to Via Garibaldi with all the museums and perhaps 15 mins walk to/from Principe Train Station. Enough various places in the immediate area to have a good meal (breakfast lunch or dinner) The room was clean all the time and was adequate. No problems with shared bathrooms and although we did not use the kitchen/eating area - it was there and other folks in place did make use of it The only 2 "ehs" are that the towels were a bit on thin side and have seen better days and that the shampoo/soap was supplied only once for a 2-night stay (would've been nice if it was for every one)

We pulled up to the hotel from a busy, ugly road and were a little worried about what we might find inside. Oh my! This hotel is a gem! It is an historic building that is beautifully maintained and staffed by friendly, gracious people. Our room was the most basic, a Classic Queen, but it was spacious and had everything we could possibly need. There were tea and coffee making facilities, a safe and a fridge. The bed was comfortable and the sheets and bedding of a high standard. The bathroom was lovely and had good quality towels and bathing supplies. The lighting was good and there was a large, magnifying mirror. The public spaces were magnificent. There were several gorgeous rooms in which to sit and have a drink and the breakfast room was light and lovely. The breakfast itself was delicious (a large buffet and an omelet option) and the staff attentive and helpful. Thank you to all of the staff for a memorable and delightful stay!

I liked everyting about this hotel even though the reception is kind of hidden away. The staff is nice and helpful and the breakfast was very good. The room size was ideal for the 3 people with a bathroom and good-sized shower. The wi-fi worked well and it is located in a very good place (near the train station).

This is a lovely, European-style hotel, complete with creaky wooden elevator. I had room 533 and, even though it is a double room, it is better for one person because of size. It is on the top floor and has a french balcony and view of the train stations ornate neoclassical facade and if you know where to look, the statue of Columbus. There are nice bathroom amenities as well as a coffee/tea set up and one bottle of complimentary water. Wi-fi is stable and excellent. Housekeeping is excellent and reception staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel has an excellent buffet breakfast with lots of protein and you can ask the attendant for a espresso or capucchino. I happened to peek in room 535 when it was being cleaned in between guests and it is a large corner room (twice the size of 533) with a wrap-around french balcony and nicer furnishings This would be the room to request. Via Arsenale Di Terra (street) has everything you would want: a pharmacy (next door), restaurants, kebab places, mini-marts, gelato and two Chinese-run stores that have just about anything you have forgotten to pack. At the one on the other side of the street from the hotel they even shortened jeans for me for 3 euro. Across the street (to the right of the post office) is a ramp to enter the medieval streets of the old city which is worth exploring. Just remember that this is a port city and some areas are a bit gritty.

Excellent modern mini suites in a renovated building just across the road from the Principe train station and on the main street to the historic centre, about 10 mins walk away. (Palazzo Real is on the same street). Entrance to the hotel, like many of the other old buildings is very narrow so take care not to miss it. Surrounded by cafes and restaurants but still pretty quiet. We had a separate bedroom linked to a small sitting area with a super large armchair, desk, mini fridge and tea and coffee making facilities and even a couple of biccies. Bed and pillows were really comfortable. Bathroom was also reasonable size with modern fittings, a shower cubicle (no bath) and complimentary shower gel and body lotion. A buffet breakfast is usually available for 7 euro we were told but was closed due to covid. This was not an issue as there is a decent cafe next door and several others to choose from close by as well. My only criticism was that there was no heating in the room. We could only get the air con to blow out cold air and as it was pretty chilly and wet during our stay, we could really have done with a bit of warmth.

Firstly I would like to say that you should expect to get what you pay for. This budget hotel was clean, in a good location for the Principe train station, buses to/from the airport and friendly/efficient staff. It is surrounded by shops and restaurants and a reasonably short walk into the city, if you don't have small children in tow. It isn't for those expecting 4* luxury. The breakfast was adequate but it is a crowded affair, budget hotel, not helped by wandering children whose parents have not educated them on how to behave in a public space. The photos online show a children's play space so let this be a warning to those anticipating a romantic weekend. I am not put off staying here again. Fore-warned is fore-armed. Genoa has lots to see and experience so if you want a 'cheap weekend away' then this 'could' be the place to stay.

The hotel is conveniently located near to the train station (Principe), the room is spacious, clean, beds firm, have sufficient cold Italian breakfast, and has a lift. The only drawback for me is the small shower cubicle.

We stayed one night between our flight & cruise. It was in walking distance of where the bus from the airport to the town stops in the centre. It is clean modern & the staff very helpful. There is a lovely eatery nearby, turn right & go to the corner. We were very happy with our room. If it wasn't for the rain we could have walked to the cruise port but then depending on where your ship is docked it may be a bit further again to walk. A cab cost us approx 12 euro for us & our luggage door to ship.

We stayed here for 5 nights and it was an excellent choice. The hotel is very near the train and bus station as well as a taxi rank. It is central for cafes and restaurants as well as the other attractions in Genoa. The hotel is spotless as was the room. The room was spacious and had good wifi and a safe. The bathroom was spacious with a good shower. The room was quiet and we slept well. The breakfast was excellent value with a lovely young woman keeping everything filled up. There was a good choice of breads, sweet pastries, hot and cold food, yogurts and tea and coffee. The breakfast room was spotlessly clean! All the staff we encountered were lovely and helpful. A real asset to the hotel!

Well, this is exactly what you can expect: take a look to the real pictures. This is a great example of a perfect corruption in the tourism public administration. How is possible to keep 4 stars !!! No words to describe the conditions of this hotel... not even a half star. Breakfast ??? C’mon... industrial ugly croissants and bottles of orange juice. Lots of military troops and shipping crews. By the way... no hot water in the shower but very cold. A nightmare. And no more hotel rooms available on that dates in Genoa due to a medical congress.

Great hotel, the room was excellent! Huge King Size bed and very spacious. Beautiful bathroom, Italian style, huge with a bidet. Lovely, nice fluffy towels. Very clean. Loved it. The room looks out onto the harbour (Porto Antico), great view. There was a problem with the thermostat, room was too hot. No big deal but we couldn't get it fixed in time. The breakfast was very good, buffet syle, we enjoyed it. The dinner on the other hand was not so great. The fish was not so fresh, actually smelled and tasted fishy. The steak was not much to write home about, didn’t care for it so much. Due to Covid restrictions we didn’t have many dining choices. I don’t think we would eat dinner there again. However the service was excellent and the view of Porto Antico was great. Not to take away from the hotel itself, it’s excellent. The hotel is steps away from the Aquarium of Genova. Also steps away from the Piazza Principe. The Aquarium is a must see, the tour takes about 2.5 hours. Don't miss the dolphin feeding time! Amazing! We really liked NH Collection Genova Marina and will definitely return when we visit Genova again. Highly recommended.

The Novotel Genova City is a fine place to stay if you are to catch a cruise ship. If, like us, you are thinking of walking into the old town to see the sights, forget it - the traffic is a nightmare and the area around the hotel is pretty unappealing. There didn’t seem to be anything open nearby on a Wednesday night. Checkin staff were polite and friendly - what we have come to expect from most Novotels in which we’ve stayed. The room was fine. The ambience in the bar was OK but the drinks were fabulous. We ordered a couple of martinis (you have to ask for a ‘Martini cocktail’ in Italy or you’ll get a vermouth) and enjoyed them so much, we had to order two more. I think the barman’s name was Marco - thanks for a fabulous martini cocktail. With nothing open nearby, we decided to eat in the hotel restaurant - good move. The 25€ buffet looked pretty ordinary so we decided on a la carte. We ordered a bulgar salad, a pasta with pesto (Trofie alla Genovese) and a costate de bovino. The salad and the pasta were delicious and the bowl was deep so we both got some to eat. The steak was perfect with baked potatoes. Breakfast next morning was not bad but, unfortunately, the coffee was disgusting.

The hotel location is very good and very clean. This hotel has stayed 4 or 5 times. It was not very pleasant. The room was very small and it was less than 10 square meters. It was not the standard room I booked, but the front desk insisted on the room type I ordered. I showed him to me. After booking the room type, he said that he is now full and there is no room to change. I said that it will be changed tomorrow. He said that they are all full. Later, although I changed it after Ctrip, it was very uncomfortable.

The hotel is very near to the train station, however the hotel street is very quiet, so you almost forget about that. The room had plenty of space and was clean. Good value for the price, would stay more nights.

Conveniently located near a very nice shopping area, this hotel is comfortable. Despite the room was very small (approx 50 cm of space around a queen size bed), it was comfortable. Very quiet, very good quality of sleep. What I liked most and that to me is very high value are the complimentary mini bar and complimentary tea and coffee in the room. Yes, everything that you find in the mini bar is complimentary: water, sodas, snacks are completely free of charge. Bed is comfortable, room is clean, shower with strong regenerating pressure. Breakfast is good. Staff is nice. Again my room was very small, with a very very small wardrobe. It was enough for me because I was staying only two days spending very little time in the room. If I had to stay longer, the wardrobe would have not been be big enough accomodate clothes for more than two days and if I had to spend more time in the room I would have ended with becoming claustrophobic. I assume there are bigger rooms, so if you are two people or you need to stay longer than two days, reserve a bigger room or you won't fit in the room.
